3202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT -- Atlantis ~ Litecoin secure anonymous free market on: March 18, 2013, 08:51:59 PM
If you disagree morally with Atlantis, you disagree morally with freedom in general, as what a person does (as long as they don't hurt other people) is their business. Anyway, I hope you do well, Atlantis!

Not that I'm overly opposed to people buying drugs, but technically, aren't drugs hurting people? *Not that Tobacco/Alcohol doesn't hurt people as well*

3205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Simran's LTC/BTC-e codes to PayPal service on: March 17, 2013, 06:01:19 PM

I turn 14 in September, and I'm not allowed to work... how do I send the IRS this info?

Depending on state law, you do have to pay income tax even if you are a minor if you make a certain amount per year. I know in MD its if you make over $3,000 per year as a minor, you are supposed to pay taxes, although I'm pretty sure that law is pretty relaxed. On a $250,000 income I don't think they would be quite so lenient.

Also, on a side note, I thought you were 16 Simran?
3206  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Battletoads - Original NES cartridge on: March 17, 2013, 03:34:30 PM
How much are you asking for it? 24 shipped is sort of vague.
3207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Giveaway! on: March 14, 2013, 05:45:25 PM
This is a sort of proxy request. A new user "matslats" wanted me to help him post his ripple address here: rDkJroFBexDTZUiJ83qcLbWwMXswoyznqj

I'm not sure if he fits the qualifications to apply here for ripples, but you can pm him and ask him anything you need to know. He is still a new user and is unable to post here.

3209  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 81btc on: March 09, 2013, 03:57:35 PM
So u expect the customer to take responsibility for the failings of the shipper? You are crazy. If he ordered something he should receive it. If it did not turn up on time, you would expect anyone to replace the item under their cost. The only way that it could possibly be his fault is that a neighbor or someone signed for it and it then went missing. As it was delivered to the correct address. Any other company in the world would ship a replacement, even if it meant they took a loss for the year.

Phil

No, but you can't expect the shipper to be penalized for the fault of the shipping company IF he filed everything correctly. If he did in fact place adequate and proper insurance on the package, and did ship it out, and the shipping company is refusing to pay the insurance claim for whatever bs reason, its not the buyer or sellers fault. So it comes down to, A. the buyer gets screwed due to no fault of their own, or B. the seller gets screwed due to no fault of their own.

3210  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - Coinabul owe me 81btc on: March 09, 2013, 01:39:34 AM
This is a tricky one. From the OP there are kind of conflicting issues. I will bold and give my interpretation of each section below.

MY STORY: I paid Coinabul 81.8251 btc for an order of silver on July 30, 2012. I paid extra for insured shipping. I didn't receive anything. I have been given no proof that anything was sent. They strung me along for seven months, with half promises of paying out of their own pockets to cover it but never committing to anything. They only gave a final answer when I started a thread here on bitcointalk. Their answer: Sorry, we can't help you.

THEIR STORY: They claim that they sent my order on August 22. They claim that they filed a claim with their insurance company for a lost shipment but the claim was rejected because the value of the order had changed past some arbitrary threshold such that the policy no longer covers it. Coinabul refuse to replace the order or the bitcoins.

Ok, so the buyer purchased insurance from the postal service through Coinabul. Coinabul charges extra to insure the package with the postal service (assuming he did so). The insurance was properly filed, but due to a time lapse limitation the postal service refused to pay the insurance claim.

Assuming all of that is correct, I don't technically think its Coinabul's fault due to the fact that he fulfilled his obligation to ship the package, and to facilitate the proper insurance. It sounds like both of you were boned by a clause in the insurance terms.

But! If that invalidation of the insurance due to price fluctuation was due to an unreasonable time lapse before Coinabul filed the claim, then I would say it is his mistake that should be fixed. Then you would also have to define unreasonable amount of time, but I guess more information is needed, as there are a lot of variables that decide is it Coinabul's fault, or the shipping company's. You can't expect Coinabul to financially burden himself over something that he did to the best of his ability that suits the needs that he had to fill, unless it was an avoidable oversight that caused the situation.
3211  Other / Meta / Re: FORUM REQUEST: Ripple Sub-category on: March 07, 2013, 01:16:22 AM
There are far too many alt currencies that come and go, to get their own subforums. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it happening for any alt currency.
3212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is BTC-E down? on: March 07, 2013, 12:59:11 AM
Well nothing's really working good, Gox's API is the usual "useless when it's most needed" and even Gox itself is flakey. The fall has slowed considerable, I hope it's back up to $44 or so when you get back in, then we can both laugh about this day. (I didn't have much left, panic sold most everything left @ 48.4)

Down to $33.50. On the downside, I lost a fairly substantial amount of cash. On the Upside, I had been telling everyone all day that BTC is headed toward $30, and been met with scoffs and remarks of how $100 is the next target.

I just wish being right wasn't so costly.
3213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is BTC-E down? on: March 07, 2013, 12:39:13 AM
I'm out completely again, been out since right after you got in. I think (thought) they're getting dos'd again, no?

Nope, because I can log onto BTC-E through tor. Did that earlier and actually logged in *remind me to change my password* because I was desperate to make a trade, and got a 2 year ban.

So now I'm just on Tor watching the price change becoming more and more infuriated.

Good thing too, I was right in the middle of selling my BTC at $40.80 when it locked me out. Nice to see its $4 less than that now.
3214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is BTC-E down? on: March 07, 2013, 12:27:14 AM
Yeah I'm seriously reconsidering ever using BTC-E again... their whitelist crap is BS. I emailed them two hours ago, and they haven't read it yet. Its let me onto BTC-E 3 times during that time for a few minutes each time, just long enough to make a trade so I could make some $, and then it screws me when I want to buy back in/sell because it refuses to load the page again... I also had a friend who could get onto the site pm support with my IP a good 4 or 5 hours ago, and still nothing... I've missed out on quite a lot of $ so far, and am not happy...
3215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin really really cheap right now? Or is it dying? on: March 06, 2013, 07:44:54 PM
I think its dying, now more than ever.
3216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is BTC-E down? on: March 06, 2013, 12:56:15 AM
Relax everyone. The site was not hacked. As far as I know, the site hasn't gone down (for me anyway, not sure why its not letting anyone else in, besides possibly a traffic cluster)

Dev was tinkering with something, and accidentally created a huge BTC buy order. He froze trading close to immediately, and they have been trying to get that all taken care of. There were no hacks, just a software mistake.

I managed to grab a screenshot of the situation for posterity.

The word is everything has been fixed, but they are testing.
3217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When LTC payment processor hits public... on: March 05, 2013, 09:49:14 PM
I vote $5, because if it hits $5 I will be very happy. I may, very likely, possibly, definitely, be delusional in my prediction though.
3218  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am about to do something massivley stupid on: March 05, 2013, 07:30:20 PM
I would suggest taking out as much of a loan in all categories as you can get, selling all of your possessions, assets, etc. Then buying BTC and filing for bankruptcy. They can't take your Bitcoins, and they will have nothing else to take. Then restart your life with your billions in Bitcoins.

I have invested in Bitcoins and Litecoins. Let it be on the record!

Can you just ship the whole rabbit?

This is possible, but only to approved buyers. If you are legitimately interested, please PM for details.

Yeah, my rabbit wouldn't be too happy about an additional rabbit in the house, but I've often joked about collecting his hair when he is shedding to make clothing out of. I didn't actually know thats what people did to get angora, I thought you had to wack the rabbit and skin them.
