If you have made a quick format and not a new partition it might still be there, use a recovery tool.

And don't install anything before you do so. If the free space gets overwritten, its gone for good.

http://www.piriform.com/recuva

Don't save or install it on the hard drive where the wallet was.
3202  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Re: Ressourcen verteilen beim minen on: November 16, 2012, 10:23:37 PM

Read the comments, this QJ guy really hates bitcoin for some reason.

Normally one would leave a reply what and why he belives something, but this guy seems to be really verbally fighting against BTC.

One who finds out of Bitcoin and is not interested, normally argues a bit and than walks away, this guy is pissed for some reason.

I bet this is the kind of guy, that found out about BTC early and was not interested. Now he is pissed, because he could have made a fortune, but is not able to admit this was his own fault.
3204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time for a renewed push to get EFF to accept Bitcoins? on: November 16, 2012, 06:30:57 PM
Exactly, the way I understand it the EFF has cancelled accepting bitcoin. Because they don't want to leave the impression they have a self interest in fighting for bitcoin, in the case they have to do so.
Then they should stop using the internet also.

Fair point.

Yup, got me there. Can't come up with a counter argument.
3205  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [BOUNTY] 1BTC for hardware wallet name on: November 16, 2012, 06:19:22 PM
^^^ Actually, I think if possible you should go with piglet, just to teach this *'%&## namestealing corporations a lesson. But you should consult a lawyer before doing so.

If you get the OK by one, than go with it. Legally Stealing a protected name from Disney could make some awesome press.
3206  Economy / Securities / Re: GLBSE Payment Claims (Announce your payment here) on: November 16, 2012, 06:12:20 PM
Keep the "stupid" for yourself.  Several thousands BTC have already been returned to community, so one has to be stupid to call it a rip off.

Yes, but nothing has happened since weeks, so honestly, who actually believes that Nevario will pay more users, not even speaking of releasing any asset information. I still hope so, but I don't think so any more.
3207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time for a renewed push to get EFF to accept Bitcoins? on: November 16, 2012, 06:05:03 PM
The clowns at the EFF need to reevaluate who's side they're on. We got Wordpress now...

Thats not how opposition or a battle against legal authorities works.

Please don't forget: legal authorities aren't fighting Bitcoin at the moment.

The moment this changes, and authorities start actually to put pressure on (not just threatening), any large commercial entity will jump ship so fast that you can't even say "meh". Then will be the time for the EFF to come to help.

Exactly, the way I understand it the EFF has cancelled accepting bitcoin. Because they don't want to leave the impression they have a self interest in fighting for bitcoin, in the case they have to do so.
3208  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Wordpress akzeptiert Zahlung mit Bitcoin on: November 16, 2012, 04:55:15 PM

Also, Wikipedia. I actually had a brief Twitter conversation with Jimmy Wales about why they wouldn't accept bitcoin donations. Basically, it came down to the fact that EFF had taken their rather nonsensical stand about it being "legally questionable". Wales offered a couple of other reasons, neither of which held any water as far as I was concerned. At bottom, I think his legal department scared him. Maybe now they'll see there's nothing illegal about it. It's just a payment method.

I would donate with bitcoins to wikipedia, to promote bitcoin and of course to help wikipedia. I will not donate in dollars or euros.

That's exactly what I think everytime that please donate, Wikipedia needs you filed is shown. I click on it everytime looking: "Do you accept bitcoin yet? No! So no donation for you"
3210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time for a renewed push to get EFF to accept Bitcoins? on: November 16, 2012, 01:45:52 PM
I could imagine, that an approach with Wordpress as example and pointing them towards Bitpay could be successful.

Their point was allays, that they don't accept Bitcoins, because of the danger to have a liabilities themself.

If they go over Bitpay, they could always argue, that they basically accept only USD.

At first, congratulations to Stephen Gornick to be quoted on forbes:

As one bitcoin forum member articulated, merchants will increasingly be asked: “What’s your Bitcoin strategy?”

Decent Article about Wordpress accepting Bitcoin.

What I especially like are this commends:

I awoke to incredible news this morning. Leading web publishing service WordPress.com announced that they will begin accepting the nonpolitical cryptographic money Bitcoin as a payment method for various upgrades.

Then I remembered that WordPress is our online publishing platform.

As the bitcoin juggernaut continues to roll forward absorbing merchants and customers globally it leaves archaic and unsuspecting payment methods in its wake.

I came in here expecting to see and hear a Military Cybersecurity Opera.

This is slightly disappointing

Sorry, but I did that on purpose to attract readers.

I mean, who doesn't want to see this?

Also the US military would finally been put to a good use.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/obama-signs-a-secret-directive-for-military-cybersecurity-operations/

Quote
Just as the Senate failed to pass legislation to protect the U.S. electrical grid and other critical industries from cyberattacks, it has emerged that President Barack Obama signed a “secret directive,” as reported by the Washington Post, establishing guidelines for the military to take cybersecurity action on both an offensive and defensive front.

...“What it does, really for the first time, is it explicitly talks about how we will use cyber-operations,” a senior administration official said. “Network defense is what you’re doing inside your own networks. . . . Cyber-operations is stuff outside that space, and recognizing that you could be doing that for what might be called defensive purposes.”

Quote
“Frankly, the underlying bill is not supported by the business community for all the right reasons,” Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) said, according to The Hill. “They’re the ones that are going to be called to comply with the mandates and the regulations, and frankly it’s just not going to give them the protection they need against cyberattacks.”

Thoughts?

Check out http://blockexplorer.com/address/1HNd8XnxfPJE7HB2YmmLnnHuDnXhuEbBnd and then the send addresses.

None of them has even received a 1/3 back yet.

Obvious scam. Stay away.

How about if in 3-5 Years you really get a Porsche 911 for 1 BTC we all pooling together and get Porsche to make a 911 Satoshi special edition?

I don't believe it, though.  Sad
3217  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2012-11-15 WordPress Blog - WordPress Now Accepting Bitcoins on: November 16, 2012, 11:54:21 AM
On thing I just now realized by reading Worpress comments, is that this also enables a whole new way for bloggers to fund their blogging.

Accepting Bitcoin donations directly in their blog and use them to fund their blog.

Crowdfund blogging!
3218  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Icbit.se, the bucket shop. on: November 16, 2012, 10:30:27 AM
So it's basically a site, that tries to seem as if it would actually do trades, but in fact just have your BTC laying around, probably waiting to accumulate enough and then run?

Or did I get it totally wrong?

Thanks for the warning though. As more and more scam sites show up lately (http://www.bitcointalks.com & many more), maybe it's time to start collecting known scam sites on a sticky thread?
3219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WordPress.com accepts Bitcoins on: November 16, 2012, 08:59:13 AM
The best new about this is that Bitcoin finally has it's Mainstream "flagship". It will be much easier to approach big Sites to accept Bitcoin payments, if there already is one doing so.

That could be a real starting signal for BTC.

Also with the amount of readers, we can expect Millions of people to hear the first time of Bitcoin.

Oh man, I'm so exited!
3220  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Wordpress akzeptiert Zahlung mit Bitcoin on: November 16, 2012, 08:54:53 AM
