Quarry update

Production has again increased.

Not all quarries are operating efficiently, though, and there remains improvements in all of them.

Major hints:
- Almost every quarry can produce stone at about 50 m/stone at some point in their life, provided that the organization is efficient.
- The largest single inefficiency is needless warehouse space. Stone need not be warehoused, that would be funny. 100 shovels do not need 100 sqm space. 
- The organization is as good as its weakest link.
- Officers without office space are not half as productive as they'd be in good conditions.
- Having enough handheld tools should not be mentioned but it has in fact curtailed the production of many a quarry.
- The secret code includes all the information that makes one quarry site different from another.
- Quarries are not interrelated.

Tourism proliferates (again)

The growth rate of tourism (mechanism: money transferred yearly from Town to Services to illustrate the "export of services") is simply astounding. It used to be 50 million per 2 years when the time was halved 10 years ago; now it has climbed to 50 million per year!

The list of esteemed buildings needs to be updated. Soon the owners of these buildings will also benefit (services pool) from the listing!

To be an Esteemed building, it must gather popular support. To be Most Esteemed, a minimum age of 50 years applies, plus popular vote. The ratio (most esteemed:esteemed) is 1:5. Very Esteemed must be 100 years old and win the vote.

All the buildings are now candidates to be Esteemed. 2 new ones will be chosen. In addition, one of the existing Esteemed ones will be promoted. Voting is open in the thread!

Since these dividends are such an important feature in the game, they will be recorded in the /SCHEDULE tab and some estimation table provided. Calculator is difficult since people do not have write access.

New land opened in 2-W

The town council had another meeting today. (We meet every workday for 30 minutes, today was longer since we needed to coordinate the weekend also.)

Decisions:

1. The town does not offer the proposed relief for unprofitable quarries if they want to sell out "early". The deal is 150 million purchase option for the land, and the Town will use it in case anyone wants to quit. As for the buildings, they have a certain demolish value, and the town will either pay it in cash, or let the buildings be demolished for stone, which the closing quarry then gets to themselves before selling the cleared land to the Town.

2. One of the remaining quarry sites seemed to have a firm foundation so we decided to open it for building. It is zoned and lots are available to be purchased at the prices in 2-OVERVIEW. The prices are based on roadside = 40/q, others 10-20/q. All lots are large, 4-12 quadrats, yet cheapish, 100-280 mil.

3. A part, 15 quadrats, of the new land was "given" (sold at 10/q) to HM for the purpose of developing houses that can be sold with land for 25 million as a part of the New Player Starter Kit.

4. The Starter Kit will be available on Monday.

5. The Town m dividends will start on Sunday.

The House of royal Magnificence ("HM")

The Royal Majesty has viewed with satisfaction the increase of the building mass of The Prince of OZ and the plans for such by The Prince of New Liberty. We do not want in any way to hinder the Princes' effort to raise their building wealth to match the King or even exceed it. Nevertheless, we have felt that the Magnificence of our Royal Majesty has for long needed more opulent premises than the old palace. Therefore,

To celebrate the centenary of laying of the cornerstone of the Town (this year) and that of the Royal Palace of Malla (2 years from now), we build and inaugurate the

House of Royal Magnificence in 2-C-A1

to spread the limits of our construction skills further than ever before. The following records are made:

- Most gold used in a single building (8,190)
- Highest price per sqm (1.1 million)
- Highest total price (1.9 billion)
- Highest inner height (25 m)
- Largest hall (area = 548 sqm; l & w max = 26 m; h max = 25 m)
- Largest columns used in construction (8 columns 3x2 in size, 21 m high each)
- Largest windows (10 windows with the size of 26 sqm each)
- Largest total window area (obviously... 422 sqm)
- Most expensive staircase (32 million, incl gilding labor, not incl gold, lux nor tax)
- Highest elevation between adjacent floors (13 m)
- Highest staircase (12 m in 4 flights)
- Largest dome constructed (201 sqm inner area, 509 sqm gilded exterior, 30 m apex height)
- Lowest number of taxable floors in such a building (2).

Now we feel confident to give the Princes a friendly exhortation that they may build whatever they like and there is no reason to fear that the Magnificence of the King is violated. Our next great project, the Château of Versailles, will be built in the next century, unless the emphasis of our magnificence prompts a more urgent schedule of course...

Ah, as was the case already with the tx growth in 2012, and further in 2013, don't you know it's all FAKE! Don't make things sound overly difficult. 

The Prince of New Liberty has spared no stone (1.7 million used) to construct a wonderfully simple, yet solid, residential house in the 2 borough.

This house has 1054 sqm and has commercial space in 12-42 sqm units and residential in 12-118 sqm units.

Town Council announcement: Dividends on Gold

In accordance with the old Royal custom, the Royal Guard and the Constabulary of the Town are arranged in ranks in the Platform of the Royal Palace. The herald opens a scroll and cries:

"The town has reached its centennial goal and decided that, 70 years in advance compared to the rules, it will start to distribute monetary dividends to goldholders. The dividends will be distributed every 7th year, which will be called Sabbatical.

1/3 of the town surplus will be distributed to goldholders, 1/2 will be deposited in the Development Fund, and 1/6 will stay for the next Sabbatical round. All income will be treated equally regardless of source, except if the Town sells bonds, those proceeds will be 100% deposited to the Development Fund, to ensure that borrowed money is not distributed as dividends. (400 years into the future, a certain Charles Ponzi developed such a scheme but we do not admire his construction.)

The scroll is rolled back, and all the crowds stand silent, until a rolling applause starts from the Noble hearers, and spreads like a wildfire to everyone. It seems like the sun has risen and has no plan to set.

As the Baron knows, there's the idea of having a Mutual Fund that could be used to sell the newcomers a portfolio of game assets in an effortless and liquid way. This is definitely a good candidate for that also - we haven't checked the pricing but if the Prince of NL and the Earl of North Face are willing to buy, it cannot be far from realistic

The New Grand

The Grand Hotel was a forerunner in 1468, being the first to offer ***** hotel services in the Old Town. We commemorate this 60th anniversary by announcing that The New Grand will be opened in the 2 borough!

The plans are still very tentative, but 12 quadrats of land opening to several directions has been procured at the very center. Soon the kingdom-famous service, food and accommodation will be available to the Quarry top directors and visitors also


Services pool complete rehaul

We have received information that due to the modular nature of the coming online version, it is easy to implement the long-awaited change of having many service pools for different services. This will mean that all services currently offered by the Lots (for services, as well as servants, are tied to Lots) are listed and thoroughly analysed. After the chance, updating the parameters will be easy and they will instantly affect the distribution. Also upon the change of ownership of a Lot, the services and servants will move automatically.

Roopatra is in charge of the job, and is accepting tips, so we will start by giving 25 million from the royal coffers towards the endeavour. (If others show their goodness of heart also, Roopatra please do the transactions unless the donator otherwise indicates.) This donation is paid.


Message from the Quarries

The workers are disgruntled that their wages have been dropping in their preferred currency, while staying the same in moneretos. This is indeed shameful, but we avoided a strike (and a wholesale raise of wages) by promising that the 2-C will soon develop services, where the money can be squandered, without the need to take it home and see the miserably bad exchange rate. They are satisfied for now, but the pressures to raise the wages remain with both the quarry workers, the soldiers, and the domestic servants, unless the exchange rate improves.

Next year there will be no questions nor changes to quarry inputs, so please do your changes now (in about 1 hour).


Land for sale in 2-C

The price of land in 2-C has dropped in dutch auction to 40 mil/q. The path to the lots goes between the "large lot" and the street-facing lots and is marked white. The LDC and the cashback both apply. The ones who bought the street-facing lots may be interested in selling if you want street access.


New Player Starter Kit PRE-ANN

The town council decided that we want to have a constant influx of new players. We devised a Starter Kit, to be marketed to the mainly existing XMR owners/BCT users. It combines the 3 compelling reasons why to play the game:

CK the Game is growing at a tremendous speed (%-wise). It is played solely with XMR and the value of the world is already 141,000 XMR. Since it was only 82,000 XMR 22 days ago, the growth rate is 2.5% daily at present. Let the wise draw their conclusions

The Town is Prospering

This year marks the 128th anniversary of the Town of CryptoTown, and also the official date for the town to become self-sufficient from its debts incurred during the first phase of online version development.

Although we are sure that future commitments will burden the town economy, we are equally sure that the robust economy is able to support them.

In anticipation of the great influx of new visitors and players in the following decades, the Town has opened the rest of its land for sale in the 1-NE chapelry. The price has been set rather high to ensure that only the most needing of the nobles are able to buy it, and build their town palaces there. There is some other land for sale in the Old Town also, and the prices are set by the owners, and listed in the CK City Map and Building Registry /LAND REGISTRY tab.

We do not want to discourage the quarry owners, just to remind that the town is at present eager to exercise its option to redeem the lands of any closing quarry for the 150 million as stipulated in the contract. It is becoming public knowledge among the multitude of the NPC office staff (plus of course the workers who see it in their own eyes day after day) that only one quarry has even "hit the stone" yet, but the rumors from those who claim to be able to decipher the secret code say that some of the others are just about to.

All quarries got 1 question (saddam: 2) yesterday, we are able to answer the unused ones starting from 8pm GMT today.

On behalf of the Earl, we extend our greatest gratitude to the Prince. The suitable location for these magnificent statues would be our first-floor north-facing balcony above the main entrance (the railing, one on each end, facing the street, the Central Square, and the Royal Palace). This is the balcony that has access doors from 2 of the most exquisite and prestigious 36 sqm embassy halls, and from where the foreign envoys and their interpreters may give speeches to the crowds gathered in the square in front of the Grand Hotel.

The Earl of Soul Embassy Tower opened in 1-C-F10

After a generational hiatus in building to the Old Town, The Marquess of Forte Spagnolo has relinguished his former investment property to development and the person formerly knows as Dr. Choo has taken a keen interest on it.

The Embassy Tower is an important building due to its opening a new era for foreign professional envoys and their permanent offices. The aim is not to diminish the Noble Palace's market share but to grow a new one.

The town records this building makes (maybe others also):

- Tallest building (a full 30 m, in accordance with the new rules and town council permission)
- 6 floors of 3-5 m height, but counts only as 4 floors in taxation, due to the highest being 50 sqm, next-highest 102 sqm and the lower ones 200+ sqm.
- Highest efficiency rating e = 2.54.
- Most expensive building upon construction (about 1.14 billion at stone "ask")
- Highest amount of Extras spent (54 million for metal supporting beams in 6x6 low arch rooms)
- First 1:1 window ratio room, with 36 units of windows in a 36 sqm room. The room is part of the Earl of Soul Reception Suite, which is at elevation 20; 5 m high, and has breathtaking views (no other building save the Tsurugajo Art Gallery and the Donjon has a room this high) to all over the city and beyond, from its rooms and the adjoining 160 sqm roof garden.
- Greatest number of Opulent doors (155) and staircases (68).

Dr. Choo is created Earl of Soul. "We feel the utmost relief and pleasure in being able to elevate our long-term co-worker to the ranks of landed Nobility. Earl Paul of Soul holds the record of longest time without promotion (110 years). He is also the oldest non-magus citizen in the town (167 years).

Since the building is large and there's still space (28 rooms of 16-36 sqm in total), everyone wanting to have a secure and grand office in the best place in town, near the best eating establishments, contact the principal or the facility manager!

All the magnificent buildings, and their floorplans (for the public part) and facades, will be available soon in the Version 3, casually referred to as "online version", of which an interactive demo already exists and we have seen it

(We are very pleased that this corporation is becoming public, and welcome the "competition" with Grand Hotel and other great corporations.)

His Majesty is interested in a deal where stone would directly be distributed to the shareholders, who would pay the costs in proportion.

But if this is not coming, it seems that we will have to try to procure our stone some way, and are interested in hearing the pricing and terms.
