Quarry updateProduction has again increased. Not all quarries are operating efficiently, though, and there remains improvements in all of them. Major hints:- Almost every quarry can produce stone at about 50 m/stone at some point in their life, provided that the organization is efficient. - The largest single inefficiency is needless warehouse space. Stone need not be warehoused, that would be funny. 100 shovels do not need 100 sqm space. - The organization is as good as its weakest link. - Officers without office space are not half as productive as they'd be in good conditions. - Having enough handheld tools should not be mentioned but it has in fact curtailed the production of many a quarry. - The secret code includes all the information that makes one quarry site different from another. - Quarries are not interrelated. Tourism proliferates (again)The growth rate of tourism (mechanism: money transferred yearly from Town to Services to illustrate the "export of services") is simply astounding. Regarding gold dividends: is there/will there be a way to estimate the amount of dividends for a given amount a gold? A "dividend calculator" would come in handy.
Since these dividends are such an important feature in the game, they will be recorded in the /SCHEDULE tab and some estimation table provided. Calculator is difficult since people do not have write access.

New land opened in 2-W
The town council had another meeting today. (We meet every workday for 30 minutes, today was longer since we needed to coordinate the weekend also.)
Decisions:
1. The town does not offer the proposed relief for unprofitable quarries if they want to sell out "early". The deal is 150 million purchase option for the land, and the Town will use it in case anyone wants to quit. As for the buildings, they have a certain demolish value, and the town will either pay it in cash, or let the buildings be demolished for stone, which the closing quarry then gets to themselves before selling the cleared land to the Town.
2. One of the remaining quarry sites seemed to have a firm foundation so we decided to open it for building. It is zoned and lots are available to be purchased at the prices in 2-OVERVIEW. The prices are based on roadside = 40/q, others 10-20/q. All lots are large, 4-12 quadrats, yet cheapish, 100-280 mil.
3. A part, 15 quadrats, of the new land was "given" (sold at 10/q) to HM for the purpose of developing houses that can be sold with land for 25 million as a part of the New Player Starter Kit.
4. The Starter Kit will be available on Monday.
5. The Town m dividends will start on Sunday.

The House of royal Magnificence ("HM")
(link is best viewed in "google sheets" instead of in "default" The Royal Majesty has viewed with satisfaction the increase of the building mass of The Prince of OZ and the plans for such by The Prince of New Liberty. We do not want in any way to hinder the Princes' effort to raise their building wealth to match the King or even exceed it. Nevertheless, we have felt that the Magnificence of our Royal Majesty has for long needed more opulent premises than the old palace. Therefore, To celebrate the centenary of laying of the cornerstone of the Town (this year) and that of the Royal Palace of Malla (2 years from now), we build and inaugurate the House of Royal Magnificence in 2-C-A1 to spread the limits of our construction skills further than ever before. The following records are made: - Most gold used in a single building (8,190) - Highest price per sqm (1.1 million) - Highest total price (1.9 billion) - Highest inner height (25 m) - Largest hall (area = 548 sqm; l & w max = 26 m; h max = 25 m) - Largest columns used in construction (8 columns 3x2 in size, 21 m high each) - Largest windows (10 windows with the size of 26 sqm each) - Largest total window area (obviously... 422 sqm) - Most expensive staircase (32 million, incl gilding labor, not incl gold, lux nor tax) - Highest elevation between adjacent floors (13 m) - Highest staircase (12 m in 4 flights) - Largest dome constructed (201 sqm inner area, 509 sqm gilded exterior, 30 m apex height) - Lowest number of taxable floors in such a building (2). Now we feel confident to give the Princes a friendly exhortation that they may build whatever they like and there is no reason to fear that the Magnificence of the King is violated. Our next great project, the Château of Versailles, will be built in the next century, unless the emphasis of our magnificence prompts a more urgent schedule of course...

The Prince of New Liberty has spared no stone (1.7 million used) to construct a wonderfully simple, yet solid, residential house in the 2 borough. This house has 1054 sqm and has commercial space in 12-42 sqm units and residential in 12-118 sqm units.

Town Council announcement: Dividends on Gold
In accordance with the old Royal custom, the Royal Guard and the Constabulary of the Town are arranged in ranks in the Platform of the Royal Palace. The herald opens a scroll and cries:
"The town has reached its centennial goal and decided that, 70 years in advance compared to the rules, it will start to distribute monetary dividends to goldholders. The dividends will be distributed every 7th year, which will be called Sabbatical.
1/3 of the town surplus will be distributed to goldholders, 1/2 will be deposited in the Development Fund, and 1/6 will stay for the next Sabbatical round. All income will be treated equally regardless of source, except if the Town sells bonds, those proceeds will be 100% deposited to the Development Fund, to ensure that borrowed money is not distributed as dividends. (400 years into the future, a certain Charles Ponzi developed such a scheme but we do not admire his construction.)
The scroll is rolled back, and all the crowds stand silent, until a rolling applause starts from the Noble hearers, and spreads like a wildfire to everyone. It seems like the sun has risen and has no plan to set.

The Town is Prospering
This year marks the 128th anniversary of the Town of CryptoTown, and also the official date for the town to become self-sufficient from its debts incurred during the first phase of online version development.
Although we are sure that future commitments will burden the town economy, we are equally sure that the robust economy is able to support them.
In anticipation of the great influx of new visitors and players in the following decades, the Town has opened the rest of its land for sale in the 1-NE chapelry. The price has been set rather high to ensure that only the most needing of the nobles are able to buy it, and build their town palaces there. There is some other land for sale in the Old Town also, and the prices are set by the owners, and listed in the CK City Map and Building Registry /LAND REGISTRY tab.
We do not want to discourage the quarry owners, just to remind that the town is at present eager to exercise its option to redeem the lands of any closing quarry for the 150 million as stipulated in the contract. It is becoming public knowledge among the multitude of the NPC office staff (plus of course the workers who see it in their own eyes day after day) that only one quarry has even "hit the stone" yet, but the rumors from those who claim to be able to decipher the secret code say that some of the others are just about to.
All quarries got 1 question (saddam: 2) yesterday, we are able to answer the unused ones starting from 8pm GMT today.

It is with inspiring awe that the neighborhood has observed this lot rise from the dust to the skies. Announcement of the CEO and Ownership Changes in the Roopatra´s Quarry Corporation
To better provide this town with the stone resource from the SE quarry, Roopatra has negotiated with NL about the quarry management, and we have reached a decision to team up for running the SE quarry. From this day onwards the SE quarry will be managed by “The Top Quarry Manager”, Mistress Asenath, who is the same person running the New Liberty´s Best Producing –quarry in the Kingdom. Prince Joseph is so certain of Asenath´s management skill, that he will cover any cost overruns until the quarry is profitable, or Asenath leaves the management role.
In addition to the change in quarry management, we have agreed to a new name for the quarry: RAQ (or, the Roopatra Asenath Quarry Corporation), to mark this new era dawning on the SE quarry.
We have divided the ownership of the corporation shares, so that Roopatra remains the majority shareholder of the quarry, but NewLiberty and Asenath are well rewarded for their experience and expertize in running the business.
Roopatra earlier told the good citizens who were eager to buy shares of the Roopatra Quarry Corporation, that there will be no sell of shares, until she has been able to make the quarry profitable. With this I wanted to make sure that the trust and the money of the shareholders is not misplaced in a badly managed corporation. Well, I believe, with Asenath as the manager, that the time has now come.
Therefore we are now considering the possibility to sell out shares for the new RAQ corporation. We are exploring our options by asking the fellow citizens, whether they would have interest to buy into this corporation. Shareholders would get the quarry profits in proportion to their ownership percentage, as well as access to buying cheaper stone for their buildings, in a similar manner as the current shareholders of the NL quarry. If enough want them, maybe we should be a public company? Let me know, if you would want to buy some RAQ shares?
