3221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 10, 2022, 11:59:15 PM
I have just noticed that Memphis Grizzlies play well without Ja Morant. I think because they are more in doing the big purpose to fill Morant's absence.

Before Game 5, I'm thinking the Warriors will put again the Grizzlies in a big lead like what they did in Game 4 as Morant is out but that didn't happen and in fact, the Grizzlies always keep up with the Warriors the whole game.

With a 3-1 lead, advanced congratulations to the Warriors on winning their series.
Base on this website:
Quote
The Memphis Grizzlies had a record of 20-5 without Ja Morant this season.

Plus they really played well in Game 4 so the lets still not underestimate the Grizzlies right now even though Morant will be doubtful in Game 5. They didn't have Ja in Game 4 and yet they almost won the game if not only because of the rally that the Warriors did late in the 4th.

On the other hand though, now that the Warriors are leading 3-1 I think its kinda safe to say that they will win this series already (just hoping that they will not blow out their lead). I'm a bit biased maybe but they might end it on the road in Game 5 knowing they already stole Game 1 on the road.
3222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A time people have been waiting for bitcoin to drop on: May 10, 2022, 11:00:31 PM
Okay, presently I want to ask why the sudden panicking around the media and forum here.
Is somebody here in the forum who is panicking right now?? Hmm maybe those newbies who just joined crypto for a few weeks to months. Maybe its their first time to see crypto moved like this thus, they are panicking. Media? That's normal for them to react like that either the crypto is bearish or bullish.

I could ones remembered when bitcoin was +$69k and everyone seems to be panicking for the price to get 32k or below. Today we have another chance to buy very low yet people still waiting for the price to drop even more lower.
Its an opportunity for the others to buy Bitcoin now that it is at its lowest price. Yes there are some investors who are waiting for the price to go even lower because of how the market is moving right now but for me, I think this is a good time to buy not only Bitcoin but other top altcoins as well. Just be ready whenever it goes down even lower than your buying price. We have given another opportunity to buy crypto at a lower price and yet there are others who are still waiting to go even lower..

I want to know when is the best time to buy or waiting more dip to buy and what if the price turns back to bull?
What do we do?

Best time? There is no such thing as best time when it comes to buying because anything can happen. You are expecting for the market to go down lower but it didn't happen and vice versa. If you really want to buy now then buy now. The risk is lower and you can get higher rewards.
3223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 10, 2022, 01:14:36 PM

What mistake? Lossing your money to a lossing bet? That's not a mistake in gambling terms that's unlucky, and there's nothing to learn from there coz that's the nature in gambling sometimes you win sometimes you lose.
When you talk about learning from your mistakes in gambling, that's actually when you stop gambling coz you've realized how much money you lost because of gambling.

Being unlucky isn't a mistake when it comes to gambling. The mistakes in gambling is their decisions.
Gambler's decisions decide the fate of him. If he chooses to gamble after losing a large account then it is his mistake. If he choose to borrow money just to have some funds to gamble is a mistake. I think losing money to a bet isn't a mistake but the decisions that a gambler is doing is.
3224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celtics vs Bucks 2nd round Series. on: May 10, 2022, 12:32:55 PM
Yet another plot twist in this playoffs, it looked almost for over for the Celtics after the 3rd Quarter, and Celtics were having big foul troubles, but the run to start the 4th was good, and Al Horford was really great tonight, despite early fouls too he did restrict himself for making unnecessary defensive plays. I think the Bucks felt a little bit cocky going into the 4th, and all it took was couple of possession and stop for the Celtics to build a lead to win the game.

It was Al Horford who put on the show after a great monster jam against Giannis as if he just taking the whole game last night as revenge to take down the Bucks and it was paid well. Tatum is and Brown was also getting some lucky shots as well to further stretch the lead late in the  4th quarter and it was a great play for Boston Celtics because they managed to tie the series 2-2 and bring back the game to their homecourt for some advantage and I'm sure the fans are eager to show some huge support for them when they get home.

Yes, Al is really playing very well against the Bucks in their series. I never thought that he can do that against Giannis, and after the monster dunk, he was like a man possessed and take the game together with Tatum as then both scored 30 points apiece. That's big in playoff games, now time for the Bucks to comeback in this series and have someone to step up and help Giannis in offense.

Al Horford has the capacity to guard Giannis even before during his prime. He was so strong for defense and inside points. Today's match just gives him again a spotlight showcase his talent once again but I doubt if he can still keep up that same level of performance against Giannis. hence he will be dominated again by on fire Giannis which we all know a consistent strong player.
I can't find the statistics but Giannis is less efficient when Horford is guarding him. We are seeing a lower percentage of shooting on Giannis because Horford is guarding him most of the time.

On the other hand though, we've seen Horford like the prime Horford when he was in the Hawks years ago (with Josh Smith and Teague etc. where they are the top spot at that time). A career playoff-high for him and he helped Tatum get that victory to tie the series. A must win for them as well or else, this will end in 6 games. Smart also played as well so that is additional defense though Williams didn't play on this game. Still having Smart playing will have some impact on his teammates especially on defense. Still Celtics in 7 games Smiley.
3225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: May 08, 2022, 01:50:14 PM
I've watched the whole fight and I've seen 3 factors that cause Canelo to lose on this fight.

1. Impenetrable defense of Bivol - You will see that his punches aren't landing so much and if so, its only a small damage and most of Canelo's punches are landing mostly on his arms which is we know doesn't affect the fighter at all. The arms of Bivol is so huge and long that he can defend most of his body and his face.
2. Discipline and his reach as well as his footwork - Kudos to Bivol for having a good discipline all throughout the fight. From the start, you will see that he is mostly doing and he is using his longer reach efficiently that Canelo can't land punches on him. His footwork is very good as well because you will see that Bivol will make combination and then will fall back then attack again and Canelo can't cope up with it.
3. The Division itself - I think we can conclude that Canelo can't fight in the light heavyweight because of how he fought on this match. Some will say that he won against Kovalev yes but he isn't as strong as he was at that time. Bivol is just too much for Canelo I think so maybe it would be a better decision to go lower but if still wants to fight in light heavyweight then he must do better trainings.

Overall, I think Bivol deserved the win. Its just that how can the 3 judges scored 115-113 in favor of Bivol. I thought that the differences of their scores will be higher seeing how Bivol dominated the whole fight but.. a win is a win still. Congrats to Bivol. Well deserved and he is in the history books already Smiley.
3226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celtics vs Bucks 2nd round Series. on: May 07, 2022, 02:59:45 PM
They have to improve their defense so the Celtics will not only struggle making points in the paint but also on their outside shooting. Celtics shoot well in game 2 so they won, and Giannis wasn't himself in the 1st half and that was taken advantage by the Celtics.

Game 3, both teams have made their adjustment already, I hope Bucks would use their advantage.

It's hard to really put pressure on defense against Boston Celtics. What Milwaukee Bucks need to do is to improve their offense.

During Game 1 and 2, Giannis is shooting at the worst percentage on the field. He seems to contribute big in the eyes of most people as they just look at the POINTS but if only they will look at the stat sheet, Giannis is horrible at field goal percentage.

That's because of Celtics' Al Horford's defense of him.

Giannis needs to work his way to destroy Horford's defense.

Bucks doing single coverage on Giannis, he was not able to drive the ball on the rim because of the effective defense employed by the Celtics. But I'm sure Bucks will make an adjustment and they will try to make Giannis more effective and we will not anymore see the struggle of Giannis in game 2.
Giannis needs to be more efficient in his next games if they want to win.
Most of his shots are from the paint though he shot 9/25 in Game 1 and 11/27 in Game 2. That's low knowing where Giannis is shooting most of the time and it just shows that the defense of Celtics are very effective. Bucks need to make some adjustments in order for them to defend their home twice.

Horford's defense really is helping the Celtics and maybe lets add some credits to Grant Williams because he is also doing well in defending against Giannis. What the Bucks need to do is to not rely much on Giannis especially in offense and just let him do the rebounds but not to the point where they will not let him shot. Do what the Sixers did in Game 3 where they distributed the points and got the victory. Players such as Portis, Allen and Holiday can step up more to be more effective offensively.
3227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time for me to buy on: May 07, 2022, 02:32:04 PM
Despite no serious bull in the market for sometime,  I am thinking to buy more because the price at which bitcoin is right now I can be able to afford it. I planned buying when the price was at 40$ , the amount of bitcoin I planned to buy is a small quantity which if the market eventually go dip i may lost 30% of it. But now I feel even if I buy and it goes dip it wont go dipper the way the price is now.  What do you think about my plan?
30% of $40,000 is $28,000 which is the recent lowest price that Bitcoin has reached ever since it reached below the $30,000 price.
TBH, it can reach that price since it already happened especially with what is happening right now.

Think of Bitcoin as a long term investment because if you think like that, you will realize that events like these are a good opportunity for you to buy not only Bitcoin maybe but other assets as well. Your plan will work as long as you think of a long term of holding Bitcoin. Buy Bitcoin anytime you want and just be ready if it goes lower. Be ready to buy at a lower price as long as you have extra money Cheesy.
3228  Economy / Economics / Re: Looks like markets are crashing ! this is it ...it's the big one ! on: May 07, 2022, 02:15:53 PM
No it's not the big one! Market is indeed crashing due to the increase in interest by FED. Same is happening in India as well, after Indian central bank announced an interest increase of 40 BPS points. But such crashes are temporary.

Increase in interest rate forces a segment of investors who had invested their extra cash in stock market. Some institutions who are parking their free cash in stock market, has been pulled out as well. So a temporary crash we are seeing.

That will recover quite soon.
Its my first time knowing that whenever FED increase interest rates, it often have a negative effect in the market. What I only know is the Russia-Ukraine war and the inflation is the reason why markets are going down. Thanks for sharing.

Crashes are temporary I agree on that. The best thing to do right now is to stay patient and not do anything or if possible stay away from seeing the charts because it will just make you anxious and you might panic as well and make bad decisions. If you have extra money then you can buy assets at a lower price but its risky.
3229  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if Tesla decided to sell its Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2022, 02:04:16 PM
for the short term there will be a big dump. but no long term impact. I don't think they're all stupid, they will sell gradually and announce all of it after they finish selling it. so no one realizes that they have sold their bitcoins. and when the announcement is published there will be a momentary dump.
Selling gradually would be possible until they will sold all of the Bitcoins they're holding.
With regards to the announcement, it might cause further dump after Tesla selling their holdings so in short it will be a double dump. There might be a short term dump after selling and their announcement will cause more dump and it will be a disaster for some investors but an opportunity for some or it might be the other way around. There is also a chance that Tesla selling Bitcoins will have little to no effect towards Bitcoin's price.

If this will happen, it will only have an effect on the short term to mid term but this will not have any effect in the long term since many will buy Bitcoins at a lower price.

Full final presser:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qJ1tdK5kus

Again, who would not like Bivol, he is so humble, no trash talk just wanted to give the fans a good fight. And that mentality though, so let's see how he will do against the best fighter in Canelo Alvarez.
I just watched their final stare after the weigh-in a while ago and their fist bump is a proof that Bivol is a humble fighter.
I still remember how Saunders and Plant trashtalked Canelo in their fights and we know what happened.

Bivol is focused in the fight and not in the trashtalk because its useless in the ring. I also saw some predictions online and all of them are predicting Canelo on winning in this fight because why not? I mean Canelo is dominating every opponent in his past fights. From Trout to Kirkland to Saunders to his latest opponent Plant. I'm not underestimating Bivol as well though since he will not be a champion if he isn't that strong. I will watch this tomorrow for sure Smiley.
3231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 07, 2022, 01:29:52 PM
Embiid will not be available for the third game
~
Last minute changes and he played and I think its the right decision for the Sixers to let him play if he can play since if he will not play, they will be down 0-3 and we know what will happen after that.
Its a good decision for them since he played well though less efficient and its understandable. His presence alone affects the whole team and they won by 20.

Green's contributions create that huge difference between these two teams, though it's Embiid's presence inside that collapse the defense outside and allow those shooters to throw and make those raining 3's. It's good to see Sixers playing like this.

They are the one who did show dominance both their defense and offense though Butler try to fight, but without the productions of Herro and Bam, they can't win it. Adjustments for the visiting team would be expected in the next upcoming games they need to play solid to avoid Sixers to gain that momentum.

Joel Embiid's presence really plays a big role. Even though he didn't meet his usual game average in that Game 3, his presence really lifts up the spirit and morale of his teammates. It's pretty not usual to see Miami Heat performing slow like that where almost the entire roster is not contributing.

But the Sixers should not rely on Embiid alone. They should be pumped regardless of whether Embiid is there or not. Just look at their recent game, they were able to win even though Embiid is low scoring. It means they can have that performance that can match the Miami Heat.
Embiid is just a decoy to the Heat. They thought that he will be the one who will be scoring but it didn't go that way.
Most of them stepped up offensively. Their 4 starters has double digits and Harris got an almost triple double. One thing more is their defense. 2 players only in Heat are in double digits and Herro shot 5/15 in the field while Butler is 12/22. If they will play like this in Game 4, I think they will tie the series. I just hope that Embiid will play the whole series.
3232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Warriors vs Grizzlies 2nd round discussion on: May 06, 2022, 02:19:50 PM
There is no doubt that Grizzlies with Ja Morant with it is really a strong team and they managed to cut off the winning streak of the Golden State Warriors and even though I am a GSW fan too I can really say that the Grizzlies really did a good job in defeating the GSW last match.
I will state 2 reasons unto why I disagree with some of this.
1. Its their homecourt therefore they have advantage.
2. Klay isn't playing like the usual Klay where he scores at least 20 or 25 points. Curry, Poole and Klay are having a low FG % in Game 2 and yet they only lose by 5 points?

I mean I agree though with what you said that the Grizzlies are strong though. Grizzlies just did what they need to do in Game 2 and that is to defend their home court but what if the exact opposite happened? What if the Warriors stole 2 games on the road? Good job for the Grizzlies maybe but still they lose one game on their home Smiley.
3233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hard earned money - Busted in seconds on: May 06, 2022, 02:14:37 PM
It was almost two months hard earned money. Got busted in few minutes. I don't know why I wasn't able to have me within the limits. Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet. This is completely unlucky, because every bets were placed to roll above 20 which means the winning probability is quite high. Anyhow I wasn't in control and I didn't follow the rule gamble what you can afford to loss. It was a money saved to repay a debt. Now once again the interest needs to be paid so to manage the debt for some more time. Unlucky me  Sad Sad Sad

I sometimes think only the rich people should be gambling but in reality it is the exact opposite. Rich people almost never gamble but poor people gamble with the money they don’t own. This is a pretty sad case. Rich people only play the games which they will win. It is not a surprise, that's how they get rich.  Cool
Most of the rich people are businessmen right? Since most of them are businessmen, they know how it works and its business model thus they will not risk their hard earned money just to gamble. Though we see some rich people gambling still, they are just gambling for fun for sure and those poor and average people are gambling for money.

The problem with average and poor Joe's is that they think gambling as their ticket to be rich where in fact it isn't but its the complete opposite. Gambling is their ticket to be poorer.

Its not related to the topic but its under gambling as well. I've seen people that has addicted into gambling here in our country that has been reported in news. The reason? They are stealing money from other people. They are fighting against their family for some reasons (they have mental issues because of gambling). Some are even going to jail because they are doing bad things. These are just some of the negative effects of gambling. I'm not saying though that don't gambling since its our decision but gamble moderately.
3234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may likely pull back to 35k on: May 06, 2022, 02:05:49 PM
Its happening already. Bitcoin is around $35.6k as of this moment base on Coingecko.
The rejection of $40,000 is the reason why it is going downwards again and unfortunately, this downward trend might continue for weeks to months so I hope everyone is ready for it.

We might see Bitcoin again @$30,000 like what happened last year because of what is happening right now globally. No good things happening that can increase the price of the market right now. US stocks are down as well. If you have spare money, plan your buying price already because for me I already planned mine Smiley. I hope nobody is panicking right now on what is happening.
3235  Economy / Economics / Re: Get, Save & Invest. on: May 06, 2022, 01:44:44 PM
Get Money- Popular opinion is that you need money to get money, any contrary opinion?
Once you have started getting money the next objective should be how to get more.
Well, I agree that you need money to get more money.
On the other hand though even you have the money, you will only get more money if you know how to grow that money you have.

Save money- To save money is good, another popular opinion to support this is that , the money you save today will save you tomorrow.
The problem however results when you just keep saving money pointlessly without any plans on how what to do with it, The worse of all is saving money in fiat banks, that money will loose value in no time at all.
The worst part is you are saving your money in fiat for no reason.
I have been saving fiat money in my bank but it has a reason why I put some on my bank account. It is my emergency funds if something bad happens. The problem with some bank users is that, they are putting their money in their account for no reason. They don't know that inflation is eating their money and how much is the interest of a bank? Here in our country the average is around 1% per annum which is insane.

Invest money- This for me is the last stage in the cycle that creates more money for you to be able to get more money. More money betters ones opportunities.
I don't know what my life is right now if I didn't learn how to invest. I might still be depending on my 8-5 work.
Crypto is the reason why I learned how to invest. It is the reason why I'm into investing right now. Because of crypto, I tried to learn to invest into other assets like stocks and bonds etc. Rich people have investments either stocks or business etc. and no employee became rich just because of working from 8-5 so investing is the key to financial freedom Cheesy.

Follow the cycle, don't stop halfway at saving money.
There is nothing wrong with saving money as long as you have purpose into it but the worst thing to do in your life is to not invest at all for the long term.
3236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celtics vs Bucks 2nd round Series. on: May 06, 2022, 01:04:30 PM
I voted for Boston. I noticed that I just made the poll at a tie.

Now that it is confirmed that Khris Middleton is out in games 3 and 4, it will be very difficult for Giannis and his team to beat the Celtics even in Milwaukee. There is a big difference between Boston Celtics and that Chicago Bulls team. Boston can defend well and Marcus Smart might return in game 3. Giannis teammates better show their a-games offensively and defensively or they will lose these 2 homecourt games.
Oh they missed Smart last game but they still won the game. I know that this is Giannis house, but maybe the Celtics will give back the favor and still the game 3.

Although the statistics for Bucks winning after 2 games in a series is astonishing. But this time it is without Middleton, their second best scorer. So I'm still on the Celtics bandwagon in this series.
Lets go Celtics!!! Cheesy

I still go with Celtics with this one even though the Bucks stole one on the road. I believe that they will do again what they did in Game 2 where they won by a huge margin and that is shoot more threes and let Horford defend Giannis. Defending Giannis is hard we know but rotation is the key. Smart and Middleton, their best defender and top scorer is gone for the series so I think its a tie. Defense matters in playoffs and we saw it in the Nets-Celtics match-up. I think the Celtics will take one or might be both games in the road Cheesy.
3237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 06, 2022, 12:52:12 PM

Embiid will be playing is still possible, they can win with him playing alongside with other Sixers stars, ~

if only he forces himself and brings everything instead of thinking of his injury, ~
If he forces himself to play for game 3 and win, I still doubt it would help the team win the series. Maybe he'll be fine after the game but what are the odds he won't aggravate his injury? I think we've seen enough players sidelined longer than what they should have been because they rushed coming back.

It's a tough decision to make.
Embiid is ruled as out in Game 3 but if there is some progress in his injury then he might play. LINK
There is is a high chance that he might be out for Game 3 but if he will play, it will be limited minutes and not as productive as he was in his past games and worse he might be a liability because of missed shots.

Embiid most likely will not play in Game 3 I think. One thing more is that the Sixers are 0-13 when trailing 0-2 in a best of 7 series and no team ever came back after having a 0-3 deficit so... I think right now we can already say that this series is over. Might be too early but lets just see the availability and performance of their star players.

Harden can't carry anymore and can't score like when he is in Houston. Maxey played better in Game 2 but its obvious that it isn't enough.
3238  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold , Silver Or Crypto? on: May 04, 2022, 02:03:36 PM
Gold and Silver have been there for a long time thus, they offer lesser profit since they are less volatile compare to Bitcoin that has been there for only 12+ years.
It depends on your risk appetite and time frame as well. If you want to hold something for long term then you might consider either the three of them but Bitcoin is more riskier than the 2 metals.

After all, it will all comes to your risk management. As for me, I'm a bit young so I will be more aggressive when it comes to investing and I would rather choose Bitcoin to invest my money with. At least I believe that it will go higher in the long run and it will give me more profit than Gold and Silver.
3239  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Dow Jones falls 80%, bitcoin will fall 99% ? on: May 04, 2022, 09:40:50 AM
It is remarkable that during all these 13 bitcoin years (2009-2021) we have witnessed no big stock market crash - the fiat money mass has only increased and increased.

During this period there have been no years like 1929 or even 2008. But when the last remarkable stock market fall emerged (in March 2020), bitcoin fell much more than major stock indexes...

How sharply will bitcoin price react to the next Big Crash ?
To answer your question, Bitcoin will go down but I don't think it will be 99%. Its a bit exaggerated if you will ask me.
On the other hand though, I don't expect Dow Jones to go down 80%.
Will Bitcoin drop 80% though? There is a chance since it already happened in 2018 but the chances of it to happen is very low because that time and this time is different  but it can  happen still.

How sharply? Hmmmmm maybe its lower than we could've ever imagine or it might be the opposite as well. When people don't invest in these markets, investors sees it as an opportunity and they will buy more. We saw what happened in 2020 where a few days after the crash, all of the markets went up significantly. Its because they see it as an opportunity to accumulate assets at a lower price. Exact numbers? I don't know though.
3240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What might occur on the next bear market on: May 04, 2022, 09:02:43 AM
What I'm afraid of in the next bear market is if the 2018 bear market returns or is even worse in the future. Either way, crytocurrencies have always surprised me in a positive way so far, as they continue to rise from time to time, what if 2018 were to repeat itself does that mean we really lost cryptocurrency, or we have to wait a few long years back with the global crisis. I just hope that doesn't happen and try to take every moment to prepare.
There is still a chance that this will happen but for me, I don't think that will happen. The market cap of crypto at that time is lower that is why coins such as Bitcoin and others can easily go down as they have a lower market cap and can be manipulated easier. This time 2022, the market cap is higher so I don't think that what happen in 2018 will happen again this year since there are more investors right now and the mindset of investors in 2018 and 2022 are completely different.

In 2018, one big news can make the market go pump or dump. Now 2022, news doesn't affect the market anymore or if there is its effect is very little to none so for me I think that will not happen anymore.

In a bull market, projects emerge and most if not all of them will immediately go up because it is a bull market. However in a bear market it will be a complete opposite situation. Its a "survival of the fittest" time where those projects that can't survive in the bear market will just go down, get abandoned and die and those who survive will be the ones who will be successful and will see another bull market Cheesy.
