The last mention of it that I could find was from March 30th.

<snip>

Yes, and we are still working on developing our own 28nm chip.

That means that the project isn't paused/cancelled. From Tape Out to receiving the chips you only need 2 months for a 28nm chip, but it seems that shareholders care only about being able to trade shares and for mining with 3rd party chips(which is conflicting with the initial scope of the IPO).

Nice story, but I don't know if I should believe a Newbie with one post.  Cheesy

What's not to believe in his post? That he got the unit earlier? This was already stated by me too and by some other members. That Spondoolies Tech was very helpful and prompt? Anything else?

Of course I hope the best with Spondoolies and really want to count on them to be a truly honest and moral company but now the home miners need to have a lot more capital or other funding otherwise or DC hosting as normal houses will not be able to run even 1 Neptune or one SP30 without major upgrades to 220-240v.  At that point, heat is a large issue, normal house AC will not be able to handle all the heat.

Spondoolies said they are trying to get a good DC deal for their customers so they already got that covered.

Also, providing the plan B hashpower only in June, the last possible month of their production promise, this shows that they never intended to come anywhere close to Q1 when announcing shipment in Q1/Q2.

While this isn´t legally misleading, it was at least psychologically.

They've done nothing but mislead people and believe that it's solid business practice.

The bitcoin fever, just as other gold rushes, has occasionally been chaotic. Large fortunes have been won and lost. Fights, bluffs and mistrust have been common. In short, it has been a bit of a Wild West. Even KNC Miner has a turbulent history. “We lied the whole time.” That is how Andreas Kennemar describes the strategy they used to reach the position they have today within the bitcoin world today, as a respected and profitable company.

Every thing they write is written with an underlying message.

For example, they said the window to switch to the Frankenjups was 7 days, they had them in stock and would ship them immediately. Which would have been shipping Wednesday/Thursday this week, if they had them in stock. So that was more lies.

They later let it slip that "Production is currently ongoing", confirming my hunch from a few days ago that they never built 400 Frankenjups "on spec", the probably just had a working prototype and then put the newsletter out filled with lies, ready to exploit people with inferior technology. 18 Jupiter boards at roughly $200 per boards = you paid $10k (or $12k) for $3.6k of boards rammed into a units with a 90 day warranty, what you usually get with reconditioned/refurbished/used goods. KNC must be rubbing their hands with glee at this robbery their customers have willingly agreed to.

So it's farily easy to conclude they didn't have any Frankenjups "in stock" - it was pure lies. As soon as the 8th April newsletter when out and they started to get interest, they probably started to build these freak machines from the 9th onwards. They probably assume they are genius JIT manufacturers. But they are in fact a corrupt business, built on a model of lying and exploitation of customers and customers money.

When they are interviewed, they seem to think they are morally sound and they are doing something to be proud of. They are supporting the local Boden community, sponsoring the ladies handboll team with fees from the kncwallet app. If only people knew the money is coming from dirty business practices, lies and putting completely fabricated and misleading information out there (e.g. announcing they were "getting closer to the launch date of Neptune" back in February, when now saying they are hoping to start shipping in June  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg6127028#msg6127028 - how is February "close" to June, except in the mind of someone trying to mislead), I dont think they'd be so proud of this "great" Swedish start-up.

When are coindesk and other bitcoin news websites going to stop being toothless whores for these manufacturers and start writing the truth about what they do? I've yet to see the coindesk article where they report on how KNC lied and betrayed their customer based and went well and truly beyond the "not mining more than 5% of the hashrate they sold" (they must be close to almost 100% of that by now with the datorhall) and are basically a corrupt bunch of asshole looting the bitcoin community and should be treated like a whore who is scratching herself way too much - everyone walk away and stay away. Lest you give them more power to thrive on their lies and exploit everyone.

P.S. I am available for children's parties Cheesy

Avenger i must give you credit when and where you deserve it. Even if you were obviously over exaggerating things in the past and you were bad intended towards KnC from the start when things weren't so bad as now, I must admit that you won this and KnC lost it. Hats off to you sir!

Not selling overpriced upgrade boards and/or Jupiters in December/January was a very stupid thing for KnC to do, but i understand them somehow. They didn't want to deal with a customers when they were busy planning for their big ass DC. Selling upgrade boards now for 350$ and delaying shipping and also delaying refunds for people when everyone knows that they made 500k$ per day(maybe ~200-300k$ per day now) from self-mining is simply outrageous. I still stand behind what argument we had in the past, but I am trying to be a fair and reasonable guy here. KnC was a great company back in Jupiter days when compared with companies existing at that time, but as i said it's time to move forward. So long KnC, we had a blast!

Are you located in EU or in US? Need to check how much is shipping, but before that how does 2 BTC sound with shipping included?

Where are the refunds you stated would start last week? REFUNDS REFUNDS  REFUNDS REFUNDS REFUNDS REFUNDS REFUNDS REFUNDS

Without refunds there is no legitimacy Ken what a joke!!!  If you tell us all next week again and again what are we supposed to do.  Give people there damn money back the farm is up and generating enough cash to send out all refunds what is the delay this time?

Is this the second company after KnC not giving refunds while they are mining and stashing Bitcoins? Is there a BIG rally approaching or what's going on?
3226  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 20, 2014, 01:36:25 AM
I thought he said all chip projects are cancelled.
As far as I know he didn't said that.

Did he said the project is on pause?
3227  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Obsolete mining gear accepted! on: April 20, 2014, 01:32:47 AM
Each board is running 5.52 GH/s? or 9 GH/s?

Sorry, I think I get your specs for the watts / HW error thing but I personally haven't done enough research on these boards to know exact capabilities.

Each board can run up to 9GH/s, meaning 450Mhz(1Mhz=1Mh/s) for each chip. This needs cold intake air for it's air cooling system. Since each chip is overclocked from it's default rate of 282Mhz which consumes ~6W/GH, by having it at 450MHz i think the power consumption goes up to ~9-10W/GH. The speed is changeable in the cgminer interface along with the mV required.

I'm running them at 400Mhz/1230mV which translates to 118GH/s. I can't remember the power consumption, but i think at this speed is ~900W-1100W. 49 degree C at board level.
3228  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Obsolete mining gear accepted! on: April 20, 2014, 01:16:27 AM
I was hoping you would have an asking price!

Not sure the specs on those burnin boards.. Avalon Gen 1 eh?

You tell your price after seeing the specs.

Please note that the final stats are  bit better than the below original spec per board:

TL;DL : 450Mhz [9Ghash/s] - STABLE
But at the cost of 94Watts of power.

Air:
431 - 54, 48, 1.30V, 87W, stable
450 - 56, 48, 1.30V, 90W, HW Errors
450 - 57, 52, 1.34V, 94W, slightly increased error rate compared to what i normally call "stable" but close enough
3229  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Obsolete mining gear accepted! on: April 20, 2014, 12:49:04 AM
Hello all, hope everything is well.

I am looking to purchase or acquire obsolete Bitcoin mining gear. Anything from old ASICMINER blades/ erupters to the USB dongle type miners.
If you have any of these things laying around no longer hashing due to power costs  or obsoletion due to the ASIC arms race I will gladly take them off your hands.

Please post what you have below and what you are looking to trade for it.

Cheers,

Kyle.T

I got 15 boards made by burnin with Avalon1 chips on them. That's 300 chips in total. How much are you offering?
3230  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: April 20, 2014, 12:07:39 AM
On Armory's end? What version are you running?

Yes. 0.91-beta. I will remove the arguments right now and will keep you posted.
3231  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 19, 2014, 11:52:58 PM
Continue can mean either to carry on  in the same way or to resume after a pause.  So if we have paused yes it would be continuing.

Btw has Ken said to any one the chip is on hold?  I assume it is only.

I thought he said all chip projects are cancelled.

-maxconnections=8
-addnode=127.0.0.1

That worked! Thank you.

If you are using Tor, I believe you should avoid -addnode=127.0.0.1.  I believe that Tor connections all appear to be from localhost, so if you are attempting to only allow actual-localhost connections, you won't get what you think you're getting.

(again, I don't know much about Tor -- just relaying a warning I was given a while ago)

I am not, but thank you. I noticed a strange behavior with those 2 line arguments. The transaction history seems to noticeable lag and i stop receiving notifications on transfers.
3233  Bitcoin / Group buys / Special Easter Egg on: April 19, 2014, 10:41:03 PM
This shit is stupid.
Just sell the SP30 for the same price to everyone.

It's the same 0.832$/GH price for everyone.

Special Easter Egg!

Waiting for your Neptune refund?
Secure your place now by sending the reservation fee and pay only 3000$ per unit when required and pay the rest after you get your refund. You will need to have proof of asking refund. That will be mandatory!
3235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Special Easter Egg on: April 19, 2014, 09:36:00 PM
I am still waiting on my refund requested on 4th April.
Liam told me: Refunds are usually processed within 10-15 working days but can take longer during busy periods.

I think it is bullshit how we have to bust our ass to get them funds to be in a waiting queue, but they can take their sweet time refunding us.
Yep, They don't want peeps refunding for Spooners Machines... By making the refunding process like "Molasses in winter", they can easily "Up the amount" they will earn when they add your Neptune to the farm by delaying refunding of Mining investment funds.
Just another factor of "Greed Syndrome", just like waiting 4 months to release upgrade cards for $350 dollars after they have gone well beyond ROI, and are ready to begin stocking the Boden facility with the next gen.
Ooooh, let's make a Franken-Jupiter too! While getting rid of old stuff, we can ship those out next week, and only give them 3th/s!
They wont care it takes 3- 1200 watt psu's to run it, really... and if we wait to ship them until a couple days before Easter, we can squeeze a few more days out of the Difficulty level!
Evil Geniuses. They did it all perfect; absolutely flawless.

Because I'm one of the victims of their delayed tactics I managed to work out a special deal for people who are waiting for refunds from KnC:

Waiting for your Neptune refund?
Secure your place now by sending the reservation fee and pay only 3000$ per unit when required and pay the rest after you get your refund. You will need to have proof of asking refund. That will be mandatory!
5.4 TH/s miner for $4,495, August delivery.

Happy Easter to everyone!
3236  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Special Group Buy - Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order] ***EASTER WEEK SALE*** on: April 19, 2014, 09:12:35 PM
I plan on buying between 4-5. When you mean you are going to start taking payments, does the 40%-60% count as the payment plan?

Spondoolies Tech will ask for payment within 4 days after we reach 250 units. For the ones that make a reservation after the 250 units payment will be asked 4 days after their reservation date. You will need to make the full payment when required.
3237  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: April 19, 2014, 07:09:19 PM
If BTC continues to climb and they ROI then it was a good move and will make us stronger to continue with the 28nm (not 27) custom chip. If BTC stays where it is and we don't ROI we will be in a weaker position. In a fluid market place it was likely the best move if we didn't have enough is USD (with BTC at $400) to continue with the 28nm.

Continue with the 28nm chip? I thought all chip projects are cancelled right now and all the money are sunk into the HF boards. I didn't see any reference about the 28nm chip from ken lately, but maybe i missed it.

I just saw this today: http://www.coindesk.com/cointerra-ships-5000th-terraminer-offers-20-discount/. I went to the CoinTerra website and confirmed this was the case, and you do claim that you have miners in stock. The story I linked to also has the following line:
Quote
March orders were fulfilled and the company now says it has shipped the April batch of orders to customers ahead of schedule.

They have not shipped my March order yet. This is incredibly frustrating for me when you take into account everything I went through with my December Order. I am sending them an email, and will let everyone know.

I know that you got burned by CT, but if you are looking for a better treatment from your mining company have a look at my sig Group Buy.
