What would differentiate a "Class A" asset from a "Class B" asset?
perhaps we could limit Class B Asset to not being able to have as many units/shares. I see. Although I like the idea, let us clarify what our goal is with this.
It's an interesting idea. I think we should all remember BCNext's vision for NXT and his thoughts regarding fees. I agree with BCNext wanting NXT fees to be low. Imo, 1000 NXT for asset name registration is too high. I think you should be able to register an asset name for 1 NXT. By setting NXT fees high, we are excluding people from NXT because they cannot afford the registration price. NXT should be for everyone. you have to remember that what we are talking about here is self issued credit. i think its fair to expect that people who are issuing their own credit have SOME assets in reserve. |

Instead of using a spreadsheet to keep up with everything, im actually just going to use the built in functionality of the accounting ledger that is already provided for us by the bitcoin blockchain. There are many advantages. I will not have to do the same work twice for no reason. Also it elimiates the possibility for human error. what this will mean is that if you participate in round 2 you MUST BE ABLE TO SIGN A MESSAGE with one of the addresses that you send from.
now don't freak out. Its very simple and for anyone who doesn't know how to do this I will personally walk you through every step and teach you how.
im going to be posting this several times to make sure that everyone sees it because the one big drawback to this is that if you send from an exchange or an address that you dont control than you will be donating your coins to me. granted this is a significant drawback but weighed against the advantages I think its worth it.

just finished lets talk bitcoin interview. it was terrifying. i definitely didn't do anywhere near as well as in my no pressure interview with tai zen. hopefully its not so bad that i have to move to Africa and live under a rock from now on.
I have every confidence that you did brilliantly; Stephanie is a great interviewer and I'm sure she handled you beautifully. I know, based on her comments in this week's "Sex and Science" show (one of her other podcasts) that she is skeptical of Proof of Stake, but I also know that you have a terrific facility for explaining such things. I suppose that means that is not possibile to send coins from an exchange directly as it was in the 1st stage?  that's correct Can people send you btc from Coinbase .com? I think people are able to send btc with a message at Coinbase.com. i really dont know if you can sign a message from a coinbase account. does anyone know for sure one way or the other? I don't exactly follow what you mean when you mention unicorn assets and managing inventory. Is that just a reference to the AE being able to accept crypto deposits for trade as well as generate assets?
NXT Assets currently are issued with all of them created at once. Kind of in the spirit of NXT. However, for creating a 1:1 correspondence between the NXT AE Asset and something tangible, this issue all at once model is not quite right. For example, in the gateway I have to exchange deposited DOGE with NXT AE DOGE. Since there are 100 billion DOGE and only 1 billion NXT AE DOGE possible, that would create a problem if more than 1% of all DOGE is deposited. For a NXTcoins that are mined at a rate of 100,000 per day it is quite important that the number of NXT assets in circulation match the number that was mined. In order to make it easy for people to deal with these type of cases, I am creating a NXTcoins development kit where you will be able to specify (within reason) the properties of the coin, especially as it pertains to total authorized, total in circulation, creation criteria, etc. James sounds good james. i was just going to issue myself as many silver nxt tokens as there were above ground ounces of silver in the world but it would be nice instead to just issue tokens as i actually produce the bars. |
