people should get a warning before banned, so they know what they are doing wrong, my sister got banned as well, if this keeps going like this others forums will take place. if someone post something like Joined! do they get a ban? Why don't you think for yourself? If you think a post like "nice project" or "cool" is not spam then there is something fundamentally wrong with your way of thinking. In these instances, you should check the rules found in Meta. They are stickied, after all. Ignorantia juris non excusat

He could have said so in the thread, I could have changed collateral adding or removing something, but he wants to play the policeman Even police officers will arrest an individual that's committing a crime they don't know they're doing. "What? I'm not allowed to sell crack here? How was I supposed to know?" Ignorance of the law excuses not.

How? Take the exact quote that changed marlboroza's mind. How many times do I need to defend myself? As many times as necessary. I shouldn't have to explain myself to every DT member every time they have a boner for me and decide to tag me. But you should explain your actions. @theymos, right now actmyname's excuse for tagging me is that he took Timelord2067's feedback as the reference, why isn't he tagging all other people who got tagged by timelord2067? That refutation lacks substance. It's the same used argument that account sellers make: "If you tagged me then why didn't you tag everyone else?" Stop thinking you're special. The day before you were tagged, I also negged 7 users. It's not a 'targeted attack'.

Are you assuming that because Blazed and dooglus included suchmoon[...] Blazed isn't my boss, either Are you suchmoon now or you forgot to switch accounts? I'm referring to them in the third person. I don't see how this makes you think that I'm suchmoon. You're scrounging here, trying to grasp at straws. Wild accusations are never going to help you.
I don't work for Blazed or dooglus. Are we gonna do this properly or not? I suggest minerjones as escrow. It's not going to happen because everybody you suggest will be an alt of yours or on the DT list and therefore untrustworthy.

Blazed and dooglus. pay me or I'll tag you for backing from a bet. Are you assuming that because Blazed and dooglus included suchmoon into their trust list that they are suchmoon's boss? That's a little surface-level, isn't it? If I include you in my trust list, will I then be your boss? How inane. Blazed isn't my boss, either I haven't actually had contact with them in months.

I also have a Battle.net account with Overwatch, is it worth nothing as well? For the same reasons I've provided in my Steam explanation, yes. It's worth nothing. Account recovery should be simple with some basic verification. Even an email, yeah?

But I had a collateral, just not worth the whole amount(edit: maybe, value is in part subjective) Value is subjective. But objectively, those collateral items are equivalent to a value of zero. Here's why: Firstly, Steam accounts can be retrieved easily in a variety of ways after the transfer. Not only that, but I believe it is actually against the rules to sell your Steam account. So, the parties involved would be breaching Steam T&C. Secondly, BCT accounts can also be retrieved because any password/email changes can be reversed (or the account can be locked) within 14 days. This means that you would have to escrow the account for a full fortnight to get the loan, which would probably be pointless for most people; you would ask for loans when you need them, not 2 weeks in advance.
That means... neither of the collateral items are worth anything.

|
-snip- Alternatively, if you really want the user to know that you're addressing them, you can either snip their quote as above or alternatively write @[username]. I would personally do the former as it creates branches in larger posts and improves readability.

And he had to shitpost my reputation to tell me this account can't be used as collateral? I don't know the original post because you edited it so I'm assuming that Vod's feedback is correct. In lieu of that, I would present you with this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0It is also stickied in the Lending section so you should not feign ignorance. If you completely ignore this sticky and make a loan request with no collateral, without having massive trust on the forum, the chances of you getting negative trusted feedback and therefore having a Trade with Extreme Caution tag is almost 100%.
You should also stop with the consecutive posts. There is an edit button, you know.

I have already excluded you and actmyname plus *mexxer-2 from my trust list Shit! Once theymos adds you to DT1, I guess it's over for us. Oh, digaran, will you ever forgive us? We'll create dozens of threads just for you so that you'll feel pity and remove your exclusions!
Mate, I don't have any bosses. If you want to throw out these blanket statements, go ahead. But you're just digging yourself deeper into a fetid alcove of stagnant water.
|
|
|
Also my account is worthless in your opinion, now is worth less thanks to you Yeah. Worthless. Exactly. Bitcointalk accounts shouldn't be used as collateral in the first place. Or, if you want to, you should value it at 0 BTC. Otherwise, loans can just be used as disguised account sales. And there are plenty of examples in the Lending section.

People don't mind these cartel alt accounts, they are known to do this to everybody who'd disagree with them. Cognitive dissonance: these people disagree with my posts and they gave me negative feedback, therefore they must be alts! Not everything is based on a vendetta, mate. It's just that every time you're do something stupid, you get called out for it and think that everyone's holding it personally against you.

We can probably tweak the protection to just check for copy pasted contents above 10 words or something like that. Incoming false positives. There really is no X% or N number of words for determining plagiarism, save 100%. Probably someone checking every post would get buried in the number of new posts that is continuously gets posted, before he can even make google searches for each post. People usually check the posts of individuals who suddenly have much better post quality compared to their typical posts. When you see something along the lines of, "bitcoin is goin to rise up in the 2018 yearb ecause it has already seen the public eye and will definitely get more attentions" and then suddenly the user starts posting "From an aggregate perspective, it is clear to see that the current trends lead to a double bottom" it's probably a copy-paste post.
|
|
|
If the plagiarism is one where it is paraphrased through what actmyname described, then it is indeed hard to create some automatic protection that would tag these accounts. There isn't any automatic mechanism to protect against plagiarism anyway, IIRC. Besides, if we did have that, then nearly every Economics post about "bitcoin has potential" would be flagged and thousands of accounts would be banned.
If you're manually searching, though, Google will usually get the job done because the sheer number of keywords is going to be high enough to show the correlation between the post and the source material. Even if you replace a few words here and there, you'll still find the results by posting it in the search engine.
|
|
|
Plagiarism is plagiarism. Even if you switch around a few words and use a handy thesaurus, that doesn't mean that you haven't copied content from another person without accrediting them with the information.
Actually, this behavior is not uncommon. IIRC, a lot of cases before involved bots simply copying and pasting using some word changes (in adjectives or verbs?) before posting the reply.

No new tweet from thefoxbot, What can we do actmyname? Retweet the old tweet or what? Sorry for my bad english and thanks! There is still time in the week. You could choose to retweet old tweets but I would personally wait it out. If you haven't done your personal tweets yet then there's still time for that. Otherwise, you should remember that you still have Sunday and Monday to handle the three retweets. Cheers.

You are a sad person who'd spend his time on a forum to find happiness in his life. What? I think you're doing a bit of projecting here, mate. I'm pretty happy, both on and off the forum. you should mind your own business and stop harassing me. Public forum. Public discussion.

You should change the subject to ALU AND ALL THEIR FRAUDULENT PROJECTS!!!
I've been saying it for ages. These criminals only promote scams. Where are you Theymos? Are you going to sit back and allow a criminal and his acolytes ruin you forum? Even in the instance where ALU is a group of scammers, the unfortunate part about the forum is that scams are not moderated. Neither is feedback. In fact, the only thing that does get moderated is spam... which means that a significant amount of ignorant newbies to the forum will certainly be scammed. Even with people that have no reputation apart from their rank.

Good maths.
20 participants for 0.02 total = 0.00100 per participant 40 participants for 0.03 total = 0.00075 per participant 50 participants for 0.04 total = 0.00080 per participant
What's with this weird scaling system?
