https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5046503.400This project is still open, and the OP is spreading sh!t constantly. I've reported him a few times, like when he answered one question in 7 consecutive posts. I see same sh!t is still going on. I guess if more people report it he may be banned. Btw looks like he is using paid bumps too.

Wow, this thread is from February and the OP was last online 1st of November. I don't think is so relevant anymore as many changes happened for those 10 months. Anyway I don't really see the need for badges anymore. Spam is heavily reduced and with the last thread from theymos regarding the new upcoming newbie restrictions is more than overwhelming. I'm sure the total post count will drop further more after the next change.
People for sure are reporting more than before. Why bother making badges at all...
Anyway cheers from the Canarian Islands, perfect place to be while the cold winter (not only political) has blocked the whole Europe.

Just a note, whatever solution is chosen, it have to applied also for the biggest Local Ann sections. We only see the problem here, but there are big local communities which are affected from the paid bumping too.
The fact that we don't see it, doesn't mean that it not exist.

Good. Well that's the idea behind the Roller Coaster, you can't just go up. Still 6 months to go

Another idea : Only Jr.Member (of course copper members too) and above can open an ANN thread. + From Member rank and above can bump the thread. + restrict newbies with less then 10 posts to post in ANN section at all.
All these Brand New with a single "GOOD PROJECT" post will be gone.

I wonder if those "ICO managers" or whatever they're called (the ones who create ANN threads on behalf of various shitcoins) could abuse this.
E.g. wait for your competitor to bump their thread and then bump 50 of your threads immediately, knowing that the competitor can't do anything about it for the next 24h.
Come to think of it, just create 500 dummy ICOs and bump anyone you don't like off the front page. Much harder to do that when there is a more tangible cost, like a merit.
Add a fee to post Ann thread. Restrct Newbie accounts from posting Ann thread. Make a paid bumping button, + free bump for every earned merit. Make a newbie ANN jail, and the only way get out of it is earning enough Merit.

They would still be able to post but their posts wouldn't bump the thread to the front page. And requiring to post in the ANN thread is already against the rules.
Although I still prefer stompix's idea of having to spend merits to bump a thread. This would cost abusers a lot more than just getting a merited account and using it for unlimited bumps.
Alternatively, we give the owner of the thread a bump button which they can do at any point allowing them to bump their threads strategically or when they are online. Don't allow posts to bump threads anymore. Only allow the button to appear every 24 hours. This seems like the best solution til now. Most of the "good project" posts will disappear and there will be no need for further control as there is no mote room for abuse.

That will make them read the rules and not abuse new account they open for appeal.
Or an alternative would be to stop ban appeals being made in META, and also remove the email address stated for appeals as it appears to not be functioning. Then create a specific board for Ban appeals, where the community and mods can debate on appeal threads. This would unclog Meta, and also remove the need to create new accounts to appeal bans No, some cases need a bit more investigation. Lately there was one account banned by mistake. The user messed up the quotation tags and God banned for plagiarism, but actually was not a plagiarism case. He got his account back at the end.

Instead of the reason, there should be a link to the rules, something like this > "Sorry (username), you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum. You have been banned by a forum moderator. Read the rules and you will find out what you were banned for. You may appeal here: banappeals-w6pquw43@theymos.e4ward.com""That will make them read the rules and not abuse new account they open for appeal.

No matter what wallet you have, even a paper wallet, if you don't store it properly, it's just a waste of time and resources. I know many who have lost their seed list and they cannot recover their wallets.
If you are willing to risk your bitcoins/coins you can try store it on a USB drive, but I would do it myself. I have Trezor and I'm quite happy with it. Everything is save.

Merit is not moderated, so everyone can give merit even to already banned accounts if they find the posts valuable.
You should have read the rules before cursing the moderators. It's your responsibility to know the rules prior posting, same as driving car. Why would you blame the Police that they caught you driving drunk. It's all your fault.
Be gone.
If you have read the rules you would know that with your very first post of the new account you have broken the ban evading rule, so this account will son be banned too. Congratulations and don't blame it to the Mods..

Thank you Theymos. I see results now so our time is not wasted The reports and deleted messages should also be taken in consideration, because this is how the whole section is monitored at the moment. For example, If I report 10 posts in one thread and they are marked as good, then the thread should taken down from the first page. Maybe for every 10 good reports the Ann should be taken 10 positions down. Maybe this rule can apply only for those ANNs who have posts reported and marked as good. BTW, if you go through my report history from today, you'll find an Ann thread full of posts of members with with a single post count. I have no proof that those are bots but I'm sure they are. It is very difficult situation for sure.

I don't know about exchanges, but have you tried EhterDelta, it's decentralised training platform? Here's a link, https://etherdelta.comMake a research first. I have very little experience with them.

You need to be a full member to able to use avatar. You have a long way ahead.. the 100 Merit checkpoint...

I can add more fun to the topic, I got a PM from him the other day regarding my avatar Your avatar gives me nightmares, please change it.
Just ROFL-ed I know #3 in the Rules is Not Trolling, but without the trolls this place won't be the same. They add this little spicy feeling, otherwise life will be too dull, don't you think so?

I know it's not that case here, but what will happen if someone is mentions using homographs?
Obviously it won't work. But what if you try signing up using these? After theymos fixed the homographs those characters written in other coding are converted automatically into Latin characters. I remember now, while we were fighting the homographs with Loyce back then he found out that in the recent posts the homographs were not changed. I think this is where Piggy is gathering his database from, so the above mentions will not work. It will be interesting to test your suggestion, tho.

It depends, I have around 11 posts removed so far (a bit over an year on the forum now), but in this list are posts removed from self-moderated threads (just went trough my PM history). So those removed posts in the self-moderated threads are also listed in the modlog, seems like it, this will be a bit of an issue then. The idea of evil IPs and paid memberships is already enough. I wonder why you think deleted posts should attract a fee; not that its a bad idea but a ban should be sufficient after being warned severally about your off-topic posts
Because it will be automated, so less work for the mods in the fight with the bots. If we get them banned, this would be the perfect solution of course, but the reality is different, most of them escape the ban and just continue spamming.
