michellee, hahay: If you report a channel violation, the channel must violate some Youtube rules. It is forbidden to advertise gambling only on the main banners. If you think that the company has enough staff to detect collusion between streamer and casino, it's not true. Even if YouTube decides that the content can be dangerous for users, which is almost unrealistic, they will just delete the video, but they won't ban the channel.

yes, its nice because open source code makes it possible to verify, in games that have a luck component or random distribution this is really important
it's interesting that it can get quite hard to make something truly random too
chainlink is working on solutions like that if I'm not wrong
and lots of applications on ethereum
Yeah.  Ethereum is definitely not suitable for gambling right now.
Crazy commission for any transaction, and even more so if this smart contract immediately turns your winnings into a loss.  Unfortunately, I think this picture with Ethereum will continue for quite a long time, a year, maybe two.  And even when moving to the PoS, I suspect that it will still be large.  This is sad, because this blockchain is the most popular and well-known now.
But I think gambling sites will gradually adapt and will use blockchains and tokens with small commissions

in reality that fact that ethereum fees are high and people pay it is bullish for price, supply x demand, there's people who are willing to use the network regardless of fees
but I get your point, for this the best solution would be using an L2 alternative chain, let's see if POS on eth 2.0 helps with the fees.

The L2 solutions designed to scale the ETH network are quite suitable for gambling activities if a person often gambles and has enough available funds to send from the mainnet ETH to Optimism or Arbitrum and keep them there.

I recently sent ETH to L2 solution Optimism - input commission was about $88 and output to the mainnet ETH was $92 with a recommended gas price of 55-70 gwei.

Commissions when sending ETH to L2 solution Arbitrum with the same gas price are 3-4 times less.

In my opinion it is much more convenient to use Solana network which has fast and inexpensive transactions.
3243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Karnataka ( A state in India ) they introduced bill in assembly to ban o.gamblin on: September 23, 2021, 11:32:35 AM

What do you think about it ?
( Players from Karnataka India, please do take a note of this and follow this news)

This prohibition aims to continue to minimize the occurrence of public aggression towards gambling just because of the impingement of wrong livelihoods. There's no such thing as really making gambling to make money. When the citizens of Karnataka are being pressured to survive in a state of recovery from Covid 19, in fact India is still having trouble dealing with this case. Until many gambling games are opened secretly. Not only online gambling, some people in the Karnataka market gamble behind buildings. The new rules that create boundaries, still say will not be a good solution.

Indeed, there are so many real problems in India which the government needs to solve that tougher penalties for gambling are the last thing they should be thinking about. It would be better for the government to think about possible measures to reduce mortality and poverty among the population, which, as I think, is not caused by gambling.

If I see any of the Influencers or Streamers doing commercials that I think are a scam or an attempt to drag their viewers into a bad story, I just stop being a consumer of their content no matter how good it is. If everyone did that, they would just stop doing questionable advertising due to the decrease in viewers as this is the main factor affecting their income.
That can work if their audience has much gambling experience and knows that the streamers or influencers are doing the wrong thing with their videos. But when it is uploaded into social media, many people will watch the video, including the new people who want to learn more about gambling. It can not stop it unless we report him to Youtube or other social media so he will not upload his video or even worse, his account will get ban from them.

How many Streamers or Influencers do you know who were banned due to collusion with the casino? For YouTube to ban an account you need hard evidence that you can't provide. So the only really workable way to influence this kind of activity is to reduce the number of subscribers in all of the streamer's social networks.

This is the correct way to go about it, however people have very short memories, many of them think of doing this when they find out there is something wrong with the content but then since they like the streamer and they do not want to give up the content they are producing they just give it a pass and keep watching their streams.

Which does not really make a lot of sense, after all if a company tried to scam me then I will never use their products and services and the same is true for anyone that was advertising them, but when it comes to streamers people give them most of the time the benefit of the doubt.

Nowadays, the competition on the market is very high, so it is easy to find a replacement for your favorite streamer. By continuing to watch his content you support his activities.

3248  Local / Альтернативные криптовалюты / Re: [ETH] Ethereum - мировой компьютер on: September 22, 2021, 03:49:05 PM

3250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impact of underage gambling? on: September 22, 2021, 01:05:36 PM
There is no best age for kids to start gambling because children shouldn't gamble, period. it's like asking what is the perfect time for an underaged girl to start drinking and get pregnant. The childhood is supposed to be a period of growing up, maturing, and learning the ways of the world from your parents, teachers, and elders. Once you have grown and developed both mentally and physically, you should learn about things like gambling. At that time (hopefully), you will be able to make sound decisions. When you are a child, you don't know how to do that.

Of course I wanted it to be exactly as you say, but unfortunately life shows us a completely different picture. In many countries, children start gambling by taking their cue from older kids in school. A passion for gambling at this age, most often leads to adverse consequences as children in an attempt to find easy money often cross the line of the law and steal and rob weaker peers that eventually spoil not only their lives but also the lives of the children around them.
3251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Karnataka ( A state in India ) they introduced bill in assembly to ban o.gamblin on: September 22, 2021, 12:44:43 PM
That's actually the reason why underground gambling is existing nowadays and it's even increasing. Sometimes, each country's regulation against gambling could make the situation worse. India has a huge population of gamblers and if their government would force to control everything, they couldn't eliminate gambling completely.
Gambling is illegal in India and you cannot find a casino anywhere else in the nation except for Goa which is a tourist destination and online gambling was a grey area for a long time and you are not able to deposit money into gambling sites using any banking system directly and if you want to gamble you need to transfer money to multiple online payment systems before depositing in a gambling site and now a state introduced a bill which is not that surprising.

I read in an article on the Indian gaming industry that gambling is allowed not only in Goa, but also in Sikkim and in Daman and Diu.

Currently, there is no need to use credit cards transactions that are tracked by the state. Cryptocurrencies can be used to make anonymous casino deposits. Moreover, if there were no underground casinos on the territory of Karnataka then no one would introduce laws toughening penalties for gambling.

3252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: More women addicting problem in UK on: September 21, 2021, 07:27:02 PM
Addiction don't care if you are a man or a woman. It doesn't discriminate. It works the same for everybody. I've seen women that got addicted to various other things. Most of them are obsessed with make-up tools, instagram and shit. I'd say almost all of them are addicted to instagram and they don't even know that they are addicted. They think it is the normal way of life and that makes it even worse.

As far as I know women as compared to men have a stronger susceptibility to various kinds of addictions and gambling addiction is no exception. But it seems to me that we cannot trust these statistics because men rarely seek help from specialists for fear of appearing weak in the eyes of the public. I think that the number of men suffering from gambling addiction is many times more than the number of women.

7 дней это не предел для вывода ETH с Optimism

3257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blockchain and Gambling on: September 20, 2021, 10:18:22 PM
The issue of cost for utilizing blockchain for projects like this shouldn't be much of a problem especially since there are plenty of layer 1 protocol available right now that have super cheap fees and near-instant finality. It used to be a problem in 2017/2028/2019 but I don't think it should be a cause for concern now.

Of course, nowadays there are cryptocurrencies with high transaction speed and low commissions, but can you give an example of at least a few casinos and cryptocurrencies used by them not for deposits but specifically for inside game transactions, each of which is displayed in the blockchain?
3258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impact of underage gambling? on: September 20, 2021, 07:37:53 PM
I think that we should try to keep children away from gambling until they can understand what dire situations gambling addiction can lead to. Some are able to understand it when they are 14 years old and some will never understand it no matter how many times we explain or forbid it to them. That's why I don't think it's right to talk about age when we're discussing gambling. I never rely on the state in such matters and I believe that each of us should control our own children regardless of age restrictions on gambling in any country.
3259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Karnataka ( A state in India ) they introduced bill in assembly to ban o.gamblin on: September 20, 2021, 07:05:34 PM
I always have a negative attitude towards any measures of prohibitive nature in relation to gambling. We are all well aware that no law can completely eradicate gambling. It looks like a legal way to extort money from the population under the guise of fighting for their financial well-being. In my opinion such measures will lead to an increase in the number of underground gambling establishments and more carefully hide them from the eyes of the guardians of law and order.
3260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spain bans betting adds - no celebrities, no sport sponsorship, no daytime adds on: September 20, 2021, 06:50:12 PM
Of course this will have an impact on a club where there is no sponsor or promoter in it. I can't understand why the spanish government is doing that when we know there are some clubs there that will certainly get the impact. even though if you look at gambling it's not that bad. even in most countries some people make gambling a job but there are still countries that forbid it. maybe with this new regulation there are positive and negative sides so you can't judge a thing. I think it will be a tough job.

Absolutely agree with your opinion. I think after this law enters into force, the authorities will conduct research on the impact of this law on society and on sports in general. If this law will not lead to a serious reduction in revenues in the field of sports, I think it will not be softened. Most likely this will happen since there are several sponsors from other sectors that will gladly agree to place their logos on the shirts of famous soccer clubs.
