you what???

I'm sorry for your loss.

get a trezor. And don't write down its seed using a keyboard,... ever. Use a pen and paper.

3242  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Bitcoin client for the common users (friendly and instant) on: August 17, 2014, 02:49:29 PM
hey can somebody please help--- i am freaking out---- i just tried to open my wallet like i always do and it wont open -- it just hour glasses and then nothing... i cleared the cache... still nothing-- everything seems normal and then it just never opens

cleared the cache? What cache? Sounds like you're using a browser-based wallet, which electrum isn't.

3244  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: August 17, 2014, 02:42:16 PM
The root key is all that's needed. It's how armory behaves. Forgetting passwords happens more often than theft.

Just to be clear we are talking about password and not pin correct? Because i really don't think this is right. Why would there be such a strong warning on the trezor for password users if the coins could be recovered from seed without the password?

Yeah I'm pretty sure. Only way to find out is to test.

I highly doubt the password protects the root.

The passphrase is added to the seed. Therefore you'll need it.
3245  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: August 17, 2014, 02:39:49 PM
I'm so happy!

I just checked out electrums trezor plugin... it rocks!

I can even name my trezor accounts (labels can even be synced accross clients, encryptedly via central server http://labelectrum.herokuapp.com/)

Electrums coin control features (freeze address, prioritize address, send from address) fully work with the trezor wallet.

Now I have the best of both worlds: a real local light client with a multitude of servers to choose from (or run my own) and coin-control features plus the security of the trezor.

Please don't shill for them about an unstable merger. I have just redownloaded electrum and it DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE TREZOR.

GOING ON DAY 5 OF NOT HAVING ACCESS TO MY MONEY ON MY TREZOR. SO YEAH STAY AWAY TREZOR IS A SCAM AS THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRELIABLE AND PLAIN RUDE.

I WILL BE POSTING THIS EVERYDAY UNTIL I GET MY MONEY OUT OF MY TREZOR.

You could try https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum, but I'm not sure it's doable in your emotional state.

those shorts!
3247  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 17, 2014, 02:20:02 PM
Whatever will happen it is interesting to note that shorts at Bitfinex are increasing a lot again:

http://www.bfxdata.com/combined/btc.php

we should squeeze them
3248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 17, 2014, 11:07:04 AM
That doesn't make sense at all, why would be coinbase bought out? They must have atleast few k's of BTC stored, no?

maybe they want to keep those
3249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 16, 2014, 09:47:52 PM
10983.4 BTCs bought in the last 30mins

Dead cat bounce?

WHAT dead cat bounce?Huh

I heard the term "dead cat bounce" a lot in late 2011.

Bitcoin cat has 9 lives.
3250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 16, 2014, 09:46:43 PM
V shaped recovery in progress.

i think it will stop at 550 and start trending from there.

has big bottoms
seems legit
3251  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Calling the Bottom on: August 16, 2014, 07:42:11 PM
We won't see more than 5k until next halving. Too much new fiat is needed everyday to support bigger price.

I don't agree with that. A flood of newbs could easily provide enough fiat.
3252  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Calling the Bottom on: August 16, 2014, 07:38:18 PM
This is spot on!

It took me 2 weeks from hearing about bitcoin to owning it.

I'm sorry, but if your case (2 weeks "incubation") was the norm than OP would not be "spot on": The whole story is based on a very long incubation time of 2 years. I'm not saying rpietila is wrong, just that your "2 weeks" don't fit his story.

3255  Economy / Speculation / Re: This Bitfinex Credit Bubble cannot end well on: August 14, 2014, 08:45:42 PM
God, where have I seen this all before...?
The best thing about it? Bitfinex is actually built on Bitcoinica code, although I hear they changed a whole lot of it.

LOL!

at least they got rid of this guy:

oh, and for the old times sake or anyone who "got zhou-tonged": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z9Jwp2x86o
3256  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 13, 2014, 08:42:22 PM
So I've been away since yesterday... Was there a triggering event to this drop, or no? Some news or rumor maybe?

nothing I'm aware of.

200 day MA was broken. technical configurations being exploited by people wanting a lower price, I guess.

3257  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: August 13, 2014, 08:36:16 PM
$120 for a wallet?  And it requires specific hardware set up.  Doesn't really solve 1 of the 3 problems I mentioned without adding to it.  Try again.

I'm not saying these things aren't coming down the pipe, I'm saying that as of today, the seamless way of getting BTC, managing a wallet and then using BTC is not yet here.  There is a setup cost that non-technical people just won't pay to get rolling with it.  It just has to be simpler for the masses.  I think Bitcoin will get there, and sooner rather than later.

ok
3258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 13, 2014, 08:11:32 PM
4.5.  we’re seeing one after another of former staunch gold bugs convert:  Turk, Schiff, Rogers, and possibly Casey and Rickards.  the momentum is clear.  they will be running to Bitcoin soon.

Schiff and Rickards? According to this video they haven't come around at all. They bash it quite hard to be honest.

One might say: they're acquiring and will openly come around when they have their stash... I'm not sure about that.

Don't these guys essentially get paid to say what gold bugs want to hear? I would not assume that they believe anything they are spewing. It would be interesting to see how they actually allocate their personal finances.

People giving investment advice should be transparent about their personal allocations. But that's wishful thinking. I bet it's hard to resist frontrunning your clientel when you can do it without getting caught.

Whatever is happening we seem to be having volume.

We're not going to die from boredom after all. Yay!

Checklist for take-off:

Testing reverse thrusters .... Check

lol!

next up: get rid of excess weight.
