but at least he (Fonzie) claims to be making various investments in BTC.... and you?
You mean, help pay for Winklevum and Winklevee's new Ferrari? Sorry, I am not smart enough for that. Jorge, your posts are high quality and usually accurate, in fact it is I consider you one of the most close to reality poster (oda.krell is also a good poster) , you know people hate the truth or what goes against their will/wish, don't bother so much with them and please keep your posts coming, I really enjoy reading them. The point is: what is he doing here? He is dogmatic, closed of, prejudiced, not open to arguments, repetitive and on top of that fucking smug. I'm quite surprised anyone ever enjoys his presence in any setting. I also think it's very sad he's an academic since all those qualities above need to be the inverse for him to be able to make a meaningful contribution to science of any sort whatsoever. well, we don't drink from the same bottle do we ? I really think he has some real good inputs, it is your problem if you think they don't fit your agenda or what you wish to hear, I tend to be objective and try to reasonably hear both sides... I agree that sometimes we cross some lines which is normal (especially in this thread) but this shouldn't disappoint you all at once. It's not that he doesn't agree with me. It's that he doesn't seem to understand and respond to counter arguments and merely repeats his statements in different wording. It seems he's unable to participate in any intelligent argument. well, I don't know, I really didn't come across this, I will pay more attention... but I still think he has some real good inputs... maybe I am more compatible with him than you with him ? I did notice that how people personally engage into a matter is really important in terms of how the audience usually receive it, for example, I cant stand Risto, and this is mostly because of the way he engages his audience, see this doesn't mean that everyone hates him, I did notice that he has some audience that goes all the way to defend him which is strange for me but understandable for them... maybe this is the problem with Jorge and many others here ? also, maybe because we don't engage in person (face to face)there is many hidden expressions that could change the way a statement is received... for example: me telling you "oh screw you..." in person how you receive it would depend on the way I said it, if I say it with an angry face and hand waving you may get insulted and offensive but if I said it with a big smile/laugh you would receive it as a joke or a meaningless act.... but in the forums it is all different, I am sure that people don't understand each-other because of this problem add to that we are not all native English speakers. Good points I also don't like a lot of mannerisms of Risto (mainly the ones that can be construed as bragging and showing off). Reading through his history it's quite obvious they originate from him living through many years relatively poorly. Ignoring the way of communicating he has many good points and is actually constructive rather than destructive. He seeks to take action and change things. This is for me more than enough to ignore the slightly smug image you get from him when you read posts in which he's clearly showing off I don't have the same with Jorge. He seems to merely focus on putting something down, while using flawed arguments for doing so. When someone points out these flaws he ignores them rather than engaging or he used fallacies which is even worse. If it is something I have a problem with in his character it's clearly his inability to reason properly. That plus the fact he's an academic (me too) and I believe he ruins the image of academics for the rest of us in this forum.

Damn it was already >$520 and so many people told "We will never see <$500 again".... and what now? Damn with those dumpers and bears.. Usually you shouldn't listen to people that tell you "We will never see < or > $XXX again".... Ummm... didn't YOU just say that yesterday was the bottom? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741715.0

Damn it was already >$520 and so many people told "We will never see <$500 again".... and what now? Damn with those dumpers and bears.. Usually you shouldn't listen to people that tell you "We will never see < or > $XXX again".... Indeed. Never is a long time. Oh by the way, I got the Coinbase brush off this morning...the message about exceeding limits. But I just now bought 0.2 BTC with no problem. Not sure if it means they resolved the issue or if the buy was just so small. I think that the issue with Coinbase is very close to what I already described in my various circuitous posts, and in essence what I was attempting to say that if you keep clicking on refresh for buying on Coinbase, then sooner or later, the cite will come back and have coins available. In this instance, it took more than 5 hours for BTC to be available, I believe.. B/c my coinbase account gave me access to coins about an hour ago... In that regard, I was trying to buy 1BTC.. at the time that the price was going lower, but the price kept going back up.. so I just said fuck-it and bought my 1BTC. I know that probably the price will go down, after i bought. Fuck my luck. Regarding quantity and availability of coins on coinbase, I think that once the daily quantity clears from their system, then you can buy up to $50K per day, or something like that (it is just is NOT instant buy). Well, anyhow, I suspect that the problem of the coin shortage on coinbase will be solved for several hours, unless the BTC prices stay low and people continue to buy coins, then they may run out of coins, again... .. so buy now, while supplies last...

Ummm... didn't YOU just say that yesterday was the bottom? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741715.0 I said "We might be at the bottom for now, so it might be a good idea to close shorts/thinking of rebuying back, as always, be careful", based on my observations. I said that at that time it would be improbable to go way lower than what we already saw. Are what I said and a statement like "BUY!!! we will never see under XXX again!!!" the same to you? And dude, I said that it could be that the bottom was already in, not that yesterday's price was the bottom, i posted pictures to show it.

"Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people."
Let's stop discussing people..
And that is one way that I choose to ignore posters. One guy in particular starts nearly every post with a one sentence personal insult, followed by a paragraph which ends with a personal insult. Amazingly, despite not adding anything substantive (plenty of regurgitation), he manages to not be ignored by most of you. Looking at his post history, that post pattern seems to be 95% of all of his posts.

I think the Coinbase issue was causing no buy support at Bitstamp. I tried to login several times at 510 then 500 but got that exceeded limits error (blessing in disguise). Then, once it hit the 490's it started working again and I was finally able to purchase. Wonder if this is some form of manipulation.

Hey, at least I'm long currently. Don't think the same can be said about Jorge (although an older revision of his WP article said that he's a major crypto investor, despite what he claims in here)

Yes well I always keep my distance to others predictions And I knew that even $300 is possible (hardly to believe but possible). What I am sure about that we will never see $1 again and we will see >$1000 for sure Bullish.

Yeah, I cannot deny that my views on bitcoin and bitcoiners were noticeably amplified by that incident, in spite of my efforts to maintain an objective view of the topic.

Man, that's pretty meta... so without the vandalism claiming you invested already you would have invested by now! THAT'S BULLISH!
