3241  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MATUTO] UNIX TIMESTAMP - How to quote Locked Topics 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 on: September 06, 2018, 11:10:27 PM
Also I'm wondering why this topic has been locked (again?) SUGGESTIONS FOR LOCAL BOARD - [MUST READ] 🔥🔥🔥🔥  Huh

I just wanted to ask the same thing.

I've also learned another way to quote a locked thread. It's a different method from what finaleshot2016 have said in the OP and I hope it becomes additional information for those who were seeking for tutorials like this. But either way, they're just the same I guess as they can both quote a locked topic. Anyway just visit this thread made by mdayonliner in Meta https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4876525.msg43912570#msg43912570

Thanks for adding it up!

3242  Other / Meta / Re: Have we left "Bitcoin Discussion" board for spammers, forever?? on: September 06, 2018, 11:00:31 PM
Add altcoin discussion.

Now, they're both a spamming thread. While vising those threads, you can see a lot of Jr. Members and newbie accounts. Obviously, some of them are just alternative accounts to abuse the bounty campaigns.

P.S. My opinion is that it is necessary to introduce the KYC, with the provision of documents and selfi with a passport.
Once this is done, immediately 20% less will become accounts, trust me.
Not sure if you're really serious here. Do you really think it is necessary to introduce KYC here, in this forum, to reduce the amount of accounts spamming threads? Oh boy, oh boy, this, in my belief will never happen and will not solve much. Don't get me wrong. I feel you and I understand that you are trying come up with something to help the forum but this is just impossible.
I'll just add quote about KYC on Bitcointalk :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3097811 :
I'll get right on that, just as soon as hell freezes over.

Introduce KYC, what a terrible idea.

That said, I do miss bitcoin discussion and the speculation sections.  Both are now pretty useless for information or meaningful discussion.

You should also ask satoshi and theymos to do the KYC before us to do the same.  Cheesy
Some of us working here anonymously and it's a good system to protect the identities of individuals. If you really wanted to implement KYC here, highers should do it first.
3243  Other / Meta / Re: Should merit system really exist? on: September 06, 2018, 10:46:29 PM
Only devs and admins should have smerit and they should reward it to the people making appropriate posts

I think you've adapted the culture of calling the project makers as "devs" in a bounty campaign chat.  Roll Eyes
As you can see, our admins and other merit source has a lot of smerits and will definitely give those to deserving people. Make it sure you're one of them before askin' similar question here in meta. Let the higher-ups discover you and continue your work (If you know yourself you've made good posts).

People nowadays always askin' why they don't have any merits even they're a "good poster". You can check these guys listed on @Coin-1's topic and search how do they manage to earn merits. It doesn't mean you're always posting, you'll receive merits, that's wrong. Posts have their own definition and value too, if your posts was a great add-ons to a certain topic then you deserve it but if you're giving false statements and not good opinions, don't expect one. Accept the fact that you can't manage to earn merits now, but soon enough if you study really hard how the things work, you'll gain it.

Also, avoid rephrasing similar ideas because it's just making things worst, don't push yourself to make posts if you don't have any interesting things to be stated and will just rephrase again other replies. Be original.
3244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which is the best DECENTRALIZED exchange? on: September 06, 2018, 04:45:31 PM
Nothing,

  • IDEX
  • WAVES
  • OpenLedger
  • Oasis
  • CryptoBridge
  • Radar Relay

These DEX (decentralized exchanges) import your ether wallet through metamask which is the greatest advantage in having a transaction. But the price value of each token in here is not good because there is no proper volume here.

  • EtherDelta
  • ForkDelta

Gonna add this two, if there would be a contest of the greatest DEX, I'll pick on these two because they have the most popular tokens last year. Etherdelta is a user friendly browsing site and even you don't have enough knowledge to handle this, you can do it by yourself.
3245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is IDEX exchange legit? on: September 06, 2018, 04:35:29 PM
I could say it's legit but you shouldn't recommend this exchange to your dev's project. If you're asking why, because if the token or the coin was listed in IDEX or any DEX (decentralized exchange), don't expect any higher value than the ICO price.

Since it's a decentralized exchange, dev's don't bother to put some volume because they're such a lowkey scammers. There are so many cases that I've experienced like joining in a successful project but the token/coin was listed in a trash exchange. They're trying to scam the investor and participants by not giving the needs of their people. This is also a factor why token's price value goes down until it reaches hell, you can see the red color which is the lava and fire.
3246  Other / Meta / Re: Just A Crazy Thinking. on: September 06, 2018, 03:13:47 PM
In addition, I don't see reasons for Theymos to leave the forum after looking at his donation address, and its transactional history. Grin

What if theymos is the real satoshi? or
satoshi is the real theymos?
maybe theymos is one of the satoshi? or
satoshi is one of the theymos

nah.

both names have "o", satoshi = theymos.

3247  Other / Off-topic / Re: MERITS FOR DESERVING MEMBERS OF FORUM on: September 06, 2018, 02:17:16 PM
If you really want to give merits to those deserving members, discover them by yourself and give them by your taste.

I really appreciate your effort that you wanted to help people who deserves merit but in this case there's a huge possibilities that you're luring out merit abusers or maybe alt accounts.

3248  Other / Meta / Re: I've just awarded this guy with 3 merits on: September 06, 2018, 01:46:22 PM
a new born quality poster.

I saw many profiles that has many posts, activities and quality contents but doesn't received any single merits from the highers.

I wish there's a Jet Cash in our local board, to provide and sustain the ability of those new rising members. If I have many sMerits and an authority to be a source, I'll not hesitate to give those profiles who put an "effort" on certain things like sharing new information that helps fellow member.

I love how the internet is mainly used for flaming at people that played a game better than oneself, and here we are on bitcointalk and discuss how some users plagiarise and put them on the wall of shame like they were cheating in their phd dissertation  Grin

Oh wow what a thoughtful reply from you, comparing flaming etc with some plagiarizing stuff. So do you think it is okay to plagiarize things even it is on internet? Really? Do you think people who make the original content does not put time and work to make one?

I fully support you. Plagiarism remains plagiarizm, no matter in what environment it was discovered. The Internet is the same field for the utterance and argumentation of one's thoughts, like everything else. You can`t be guided by other rules just because plagiarism has been seen in the Internet environment. People are really trying to convey their ideas in original way, and it can`t be unpunished that someone copies them and issues them for their own. Because of this the forum is filled with spam and shit posts.

As much as possible, avoid copying contents from the internet but it's okay to make it as a basis for your own topic. Well, copying contents from the internet and indicating the source of it is considered as a shitposting for me. Do you think it's really hard to provide your own statements/opinion? definitely not!

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to suchmoon, hilariousetc / hilariousandco, and TMAN for trusting me to become their campaign manager.

@theyoungmillionaire, hey Mr. campaign manager, do you sell any TMAN's campaign merchandise?  Grin Cheesy

So I would strongly advise all to install this MetaMask crome extention to your chrome browser in order to avoid logging phishing sites.

Gonna vouch this metamask, I'm glad to have this chrome extension because it helps me to avoid phishing sites. There are many times metamask appears when some links was directed to fake/scam exchange sites. I hope that metamask also have an access to different exchanges, not only on DEX so we can import our wallets to a high-class exchanges without worrying.

These thieves might be the first to be caught in the crypto world...

Nope, as you can see, there are so many scam projects here in the world. In any investments in company, projects, and specially about cryptocurrency, you can heard in the news that scam is a common issue.

Until now, I don't have any updates about the hashcard developers scammers, I hope they will be sent to jail. If you look all the possibilities, there's a chance for them to get out the jail just by paying a million dollar fine. Probably, the money was came from the hashcard's supporters mone so it's a win-win situation.
3252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: your favorite Exchange (without KYC/Verification) on: September 05, 2018, 07:47:34 PM
My favorite exchange is KuCoin because a project is required to put some huge volume so the circulation of their own coin will last longer.
This is my reply about the kucoin;
I'm using kucoin for long time because it's the best exchange for me. The important matters that exchanges must have are the efficiency and stability of the platform.

I sell many tokens in KuCoin like INS (INS Ecosystem)  and IOST. Developers choose this platform as one of the official exchange site of their token and prioritize it. Based on my own experiences, KuCoin is one of the exchanges that has bigger volumes. We know that bigger volumes comes up with bigger prices so it really matters.

KuCoin has also a similar exchange and I can say that they're both good exchanges, Binance. I can approve all the statements of the OP because all of them are facts. I don't post here but when I see this thread, I really wanted to support them because of their good service too.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2309269.msg44951559#msg44951559

So when they're asking if what's exchange is my favorite, KuCoin is the answer. Also, KuCoin doesn't require KYC to do such transactions.
3253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌠[15$]🌠 - 🚀 Signature Design service - [updated] 💎 limited time offer. on: September 04, 2018, 10:38:55 PM
@Zwei, Do you create signatures full-time? I'm also interested in creating those icons through bbcodes. If you have any recommendations for me to master the bbcodes, thank you for that. Also the price of the signature is only 15$ and I can say it's very cheap unlike the design of others that cost 25-50$, well I think it's because of the quality of the signature. But for me, your design is good and also a quality signature.
3254  Other / Meta / Re: Application For Merit Source [Philippines Local Board] on: September 04, 2018, 11:26:29 AM
Anyways, why he/ she is not applying in our local board. theyoungmillionaire is one of the most famous public figure in this community, I must say that he/ she is overqualified. Shocked

I'm still hoping that @theyoungmillionaire will also apply as a merit source here in our local board, I'm surely he/she will be automatically accepted.

I am just happy working backstage helping people here.

edit: but if you want to, we'll fully support you.

I am just happy working backstage helping people here.
It looks you are still the Silenthero LOL Grin

Silent heroes really are amazing. Grin

Merit source is not a Celebrity stuff that you need to be famous to be qualified as one. When I am finding posts that are merit worthy, I end up reporting plagiarism case, which I can see that being a merit source is not that easy. You need to find more quality posts that are not plagiarize. Amidst this shitposter spree, I appreciate what our current merit source are doing – having the time to find quality posters (Good Job guys!).
These members are so hungry to receive merits pushing them to create a long high quality plagiarized posts. Grin and I see a lot of them and it is sad that few of these people comes from our own country. I think I should be making a post regarding the increasing cases of plagiarizing content in our local this might confuse people which/ what posts should be merited, I don't want these merits to fall in quality plagiarizer peoples.

I know many profiles asking how to be a merit source, after checking their account (probably full of shitposts), I ask myself if they're really serious with it? Based on their shitposts, i mean posts, you can conclude that they're not responsible to handle this position. As of now, crwth is the only one deserves to be a merit source because of his/her integrity and responsibility as one of the members of the community. (Well, I won't forget @theyoungmillionaire, we know that you're amazing and overqualified  Wink)

@crwth just hold on, I feel that we're near to reality of the development of our local.

3256  Other / Meta / Re: 3 connected accounts (1 of them found plagiarism). How about ban all of them? on: September 04, 2018, 10:53:32 AM

I think* it's plagiarism. If it's something you can't get away with in university, you shouldn't get away with it on this forum.
Showing sources serves two purposes: giving credit, and making statements verifiable. What he did in that thread is just opy/pasting text from different sources together into an incoherent post.
Each citation should have it's individual source link, and it shouldn't be literally copied. I don't think this text would require 9 different sources if it wouldn't be copy/pasted together.
I'm pretty sure it's only meant to earn Merit.

*Since this is a debated case, and open to interpretation, I won't report it as plagiarism.

There are some parts of the discussion that can be accused as plagiarism even stating the source/credits of the original content. I beg to disagree in this kind of act, knowing that someone took credit for other's work. If this kind of activity didn't paid attention to, then it will spread across the entire platform.

When worse come to worst, some accounts would abuse it and can't be tolerated. As far as I can remember, when attending actual forums, discussions should be stated by their own perspective and opinions. If you're using others content, make it sure that you're using it as a basis of your own topic or for elaborating some critical analysis. Wink

Malaking tulong to..

No problem.  Wink

BTW, congrats finaleshot2016 for reaching senior member!

Thanks for adding up some information kabayan! at maraming salamat din. Yan din yun una kong nakita, katulad nga ng sabi mo, medyo complicated nga 'yan kung ang nais mo lang naman is mag-quote pero kung ang hangarin mo naman ay malaman ang bawat numero sa url, then it'll fit in you.  Cheesy

Congrats din sa pag rank up.  Smiley

3258  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / [GUIDE] UNIX TIMESTAMP - How to quote Locked Topics on: September 03, 2018, 02:45:32 PM
UNIX timestamp

I just wanted to add up this tutorial since this can be a solution sa mga issue/cases na nangyayari sa ating local. In short, this is a forum-related topic that can be used for proper discussions and other additional statements. Simple thread lang 'to.

Ano ba ang UNIX timestamp?

Ito yung total seconds simula nung January 1, 1970 at UTC time. Kung mapapansin niyo UTC time din ang gamit dito sa forum which is late ng 8 hours sa oras natin dito sa Pilipinas.

Code:
[quote author=finaleshot2016 link=topic=4990170.msg45033839#msg45033839 date=1535817832]

date=1535817832

date=1535817832

Nakakapagtaka ba kung paano gawing code yung mismong date? Sa una medyo nahirapan ako kasi akala literal na year/month/day/minutes lang ang nilalagay pero 2018 na and wala akong makitang 2018 or yung mismong date noon so nakakalito talaga siya.

So may ginagamit tayong site about UNIX Timestamp: https://www.unixtimestamp.com/
Ayan na yung link, so ang gagawin mo nalang is input mo yung mismong date kung kelan niya na-post yung content/reply.

Example

Wink

Paano mag quote ng mga locked topics?

Lately ko lang 'to natutunan and syempre gusto ko na din i-share sa inyo dahil andami ng locked topics sa local natin. Ito yung code niya for quoting a locked topic.

Code:
[quote author=([i]username[/i]) link=topic=([i]link of topic and place[/i]) date=([i]unix timestamp[/i])]

Code:
[quote author=finaleshot2016 link=topic=4990170.msg45033839#msg45033839 date=1535817832]

learning URLs

First part of quoting

link=topic=4990170.msg45033839#msg45033839

Step 1:

Step 2:

Copy mo lang yung topic url

Quote
quote author=finaleshot2016 link=topic=4990170.msg45033839#msg45033839

2nd part of quoting

date=1535817832

Quote
date=1535817832

Sana tinatandaan niyo din yung mga important contents na pwede niyong magamit during discussion kaya kapag nasa locked topic na yung gusto mong i-quote, balikan mo lang 'tong thread na 'to and this will help you a lot.
