3241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +85933 units on: October 13, 2022, 09:50:48 AM
Well, a clean slate. That's still better than a lot of other alternatives in gambling I guess. Almost as if I'm just bent on making this the first season ending in a loss, right?

Which brings us to the next dangerous bet...

What do you think about the odds in the game Liverpool - City? At the moment the quotes are as follows:

3.85 - 4.10 - 1.87

In the game with Arsenal, I was sure that Arsenal would not lose (although the quotes were cloudy). But when I see such odds for City against Liverpool, I have great doubts in its fairness. Liverpool have been bad this season but they can't be so bad that they don't win at least one of their three home games against City at a difficult moment. For me the Liverpool bet has a lot of value (3.85-3=0.85 ~ probably 28% of the value).

I think it's excellent odds, actually. It rose to 44/10 at some point (price boost probably would have taken that to almost 5/1), but after their thumping win in Glasgow, it's back to around 41/10 now.

No Diaz, no Matip, no Trent -- ordinarily, bad news for me, but with the way defence has been acting up lately, it's not really terrible news (Diaz will be missed for sure, but with Firmino in rich vein of form, I'm okay with Jota slotting in and helping him out). We've also got Robbo back, not that Tsimikas has been bad, but he enjoys going against City.

As you say, and this is exactly how I see odds. 4/1 means we should win at home 1 out of 4 games. I believe even at our current form, we win 1 out of 3 (win, lose, draw). Is that good value? For me 100%.

So 500 units at Sportsbet on Liverpool to WIN vs City @4.40. Other odds: 4.04
Units advantage: 160

Running advantage after 29 bets: +2749 (+160)
All-time cumulative: +86,363
Running units after 28 bets (4W|24L): +34 (-400)

Okay, I need to learn to do more like tonight. Liverpool conceding is a theme of the season, but as soon as Rangers scored, Live betting on Liverpool was 2.6, which was pretty decent considering -1.5 handicap prematch was only 2/1. So yeah, happy for the win, now for City.

Bobby coulda had a hattrick, happy for Elliot. Never seen a guy pray for VAR before, I love this kid haha.

Atletico is still goalless, is Brugge that good, or all these teams in their group are just bananas

I would like to propose GOATnoglet be the celebrated figure of current UCL.

Barcelona out...?

GOATnoglet! GOATnoglet!

Lewie's just snatched some Hail Mary chance for them (again)... now they must win next 2 games and hope Bayern beat Inter!

Are free spins on roulette already credited? Sometimes though to navigate on mobile so I am not sure. Have to use them well this time since I lost very nice multi ticket just on Arsenal both to score, would have never included this game if it wasn't for promo Smiley

I totally missed to bet on this one, forgot about the promo actually that it included all of the games, but I was going to use it on BTTS anyway so I probably saved myself 50 USD.

Man, can you guys believe I played for but forgot about this till coming to this thread?

So I put $50 on BTTS in Europa and then $50 on Liverpool, both lost. Played out my last USDT today and was just roaming around on Live Casino options and saw the notify pop out. Luckily these freespins last 14 days! Put $25 on red 2 times, won them both back (and you win the stake too).

So cold hard cash, money back, now $50 on Arsenal's next game and $50 on Liverpool City at over 4/1, right?

@JSRAW summed it up very well IMO.  I think 1mbtc on NZ now and forget about it.. they always seem to make the Semi-Finals at least, a good team who always comes together at the right time.

Steve.

Not quite mBTC, but I might do another if bets elsewhere pan out. Here's my NZ outlay:

@LFC_Bitcoin very good change from your side as I am looking first time you are out of soccer hell, and hopefully you will be having good time in cricket heaven because it's also one of the most popular game around the world and big fan base available but sadly here on this forum we have no active members like you and @buwaytress hopefully now with this we will have positive change. Now, I have also my personal views about teams which are in this world cup.

I do my best to venture into unfamiliar territory (Formula 1, Major League Baseball are "recent" attempts) and lived for 2+ years in a cricket mad country so I understand football's only big for half of the world (counting population wise, even). I actually see NZ as good value in almost any sports... for no apparent reason other than Kiwis get good odds? Haha.
3248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: October 12, 2022, 02:39:30 PM
I got exactly 0 points out of these 8 games, the last 4 coming out 1-1 is the first time I think in Champions League history that 4 draws 1-1 happen in the same night when 8 games are being played.Honestly I am the worst performer so far in the Champions League,I knew in the first time I would not do that well but I never imagined to get 0 points from 8 games,it shows a lot of favorites did not win and PSG together with Juventus and Real Madrid are the biggest surprises of the night without forgetting Manchester City who could not score a goal against Copenhagen despite them being in 10 men for most of the game.

Last round, UCL had the most goals among the UEFA tournaments, 48, though the others did not come so far behind, all above 40. Previous round, UCL was by far the lowest, and I mentioned we could be looking for over goals in Conference and Europa, with unders in UCL... seems like must-win fixtures don't have the desired effect (looking at you, Juve, PSG, Celtic...).

I watched Shakhtar game and have to say, it was overall good football. I still get a huge lot of enjoyment watching players I don't know so well doing slick one touch passing FROM DEFENCE... against Real. Think Benzema only got a touch after 12 minutes... and yes, the defending champs looked lovely the rest of that first half in general but 2nd half was typical "play like schoolboys even though we have Galacticos" Real Madrid... unlike last 5 minutes Kroos and Rudiger decided to put on their psychic connection.

I lost all bets, but thanks to some early round bets here and in Europa/Conference, I'm more or less just above water still... so doing a bit better than in domestic league betting.

And as tempted as I am to play some more tonight, I'm taking a breather and use up some freebets. Just need Liverpool to win, and that's that, more or less.

Pointless betting on Ajax tonight, right?
3249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have all the 'Bull Runs' just been billionaires pumpin and dumpin? on: October 12, 2022, 01:34:34 PM
Well, the past billionaires and experts generally talked up 100,000 in the last cycle, and before that we'll recall other big names going for a million easy. That didn't really work out, did it?

Don't have to wait for the next, if you're willing to trawl social media when sentiment improves, cast a pebble and you'll likely hit someone, anyone with pumping notions.

3250  Economy / Speculation / Re: All Eyes On Bitcoin’s Monthly Close on: October 12, 2022, 12:06:48 PM
I came up with this strategy after numerous tests and experiments on micro amounts. I did not test my strategy on a demo account, because the demo account does not live a market life and the real price behavior cannot be tracked there. Bitcoin is inherently volatile, but it always (sooner or later) bounces back, so you can use it and not spend your bitcoins in vain. When you are trading for a couple of hundred bucks, you can put a stop loss and quickly re-enter the trade, and when 4-8 bitcoins are involved in the trade, it is better to think a little more than make decisions like exiting on a stop loss, since when such amounts, one click of a button can take a lot of money from you.

Although I later realized that all trading is too tiring and sent it to hell by switching to investing. Grin

Interesting reading up on your post exchanges here, also new for me to hear DCA being used in a trading perspective (and no, am not conveniently ignoring that as a DCA-er in the end I'm closing a trade if I plan to liquidate at some point, no matter how far down the line!).

Don't have the precise stats but yeah, Bitcoin spends about 80% of the time, if not more, in sideway and bearish motions, with short-lived rallies, but crucially, rallies that lift up the long-term bottoms... so DCA is just logically the most profitable way to invest.

I discovered what a tiring and soul-sucking thing trading was over a decade before I got into Bitcoin... am sure many of you've been down the forex road Wink
3251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Formula 1's Crypto.com Sponsor Is Falling Apart on: October 12, 2022, 08:34:57 AM
None of this is really surprising, given Crypto.com's history, which can be traced back to bounty programs and their ICO launch even on threads on this forum Wink

Short summary: Monaco was supposed to be an awesome crypto debit/credit card project. Raised millions, spammed this forum to bits, but they just never found a way to actually launch (despite millions and millions in crypto raised).

Lost a lot of money, but oh man, when the rally arrived in 2020, I bet you they reopened all their old crypto (all that ETH they raised around $100 must have made them super rich near ATH).

Don't know when they rebranded to Crypto, probably to distance themselves from their past failure (and losing a lot of people a lot of money). Just wait for the next rally, they'll probably not rebrand but I bet you they sit on crypto and sell high when their investors wilt away.

Suppose you could call them the ultimate gambling sponsor: being gamblers themselves heh.

Nice thread!

Don't know much about cricket but the last time I met up with Sportsbet, this was on the conversation (which now reminds me how long ago that's been!). My local exchanges and remittances are all T20 promos the last couple of weeks, though, rather than World Cup, and I'm not even from a cricket country, so that says something about this!

@JSRAW I like Dark Horses, NZ looks cool, will do an outright or two and share them here Wink

^ Well, there goes my acca and my ML, all over with the first 2 matches. Juventus should just pack their bags and concentrate on qualifying for Europa in the league, and just don't injure anyone in their group so they leave with good manners... they cannot dream to beat Benfica even if PSG win, like this.

I always knew Copenhagen win was fantasy too, but still, would have been nice if they found a way to capitalise with 10-men City, who actually improved after losing Gomez.

No Haaland, no joy huh City. Can't even score a pen.
3254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: October 11, 2022, 06:12:12 PM
That run from Real in Champions League is memorable. They weren't just bad, they were outright playing football for just 10 minutes and turning the tables on top teams. They should have lost against PSG, against City and against Chelsea.

But CL is their playground and they just belived in wins and they came.

Can't argue really. I did have things to say about how we lose the 2019 final but we were so, so naive, and frankly we were at the peak of overperformance that eventually came undone.

But last year Real won it all fair and square, they knew how to weave their magic, and we didn't. I also got what I asked for, which was a rematch, but it wasn't to be.

It is definitely painful to lose 4 games all of last season and walk away only with 2 domestic cups. But that's how football is.

El Clasico, I'm really looking forward (too bad Barca won't get great odds), but the biggest shame is I'll only be watching first half, as City comes to visit Anfield an hour later...
3255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: October 11, 2022, 05:01:50 PM
...but 100k BTC should be the new conservative hmm?
Judging from what the previous ATHs after halvings were, that each halving more than doubled the prices of their predecessors, I will put the next ATH after halving at around $190,000 to $220,000 per Bitcoin. Yes, I know you may say it's not likely to get that high but you've to remember that no one ever thought Bitcoin price would get this high from the past. Even in 2017 after the ATH and its eventual collapse to $3,200 in 2019 or so, no one thought Bitcoin would rise from that near annihilation to blow past $68,000 in 2021.

More than double, yes... but ignoring that it was roughly 20x, followed by roughly 3 times in the last 2 halvings? I'm not saying I don't believe we'll do another double (so that's 130k) but 220k is just about the same "3x" of last halving.

Percentage increase from ATH to ATH has been shortening, not expanding...
3256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2022, 02:41:36 PM
As much as we'd want the price to go up, we shouldn't want the price to go up solely because of a specific person — especially someone as seemingly bipolar as Elon Musk. I'd rather that we get a very slow grind up caused by organic demand.

Which actually is almost what happened in this last ATH cycle, if I'm being objective (putting the last 2 ATH rallies in comparison anyway).

20-68 could still be seen as a bloat, the period in between was a bit longer than others, and we're also coming down in slower method.

I definitely like the grind.
3257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: October 11, 2022, 01:38:59 PM
I don't think that the bet against Real Madrid is good, since at Shakhtar Real Madrid will hone their tactics for the game with Barcelona. I do not think that this is the case when Real Madrid will rest. As for Liverpool, I think this is a good bet as the Rangers are already completely destroyed (3 defeats and a goal difference of 0-9), and Liverpool are forced to look for a good game and results.

Yeah, I totally agree here, but put the odds against those and I think Liverpool are terrible value, while Real, they know they can afford a slip up. No doubt both will win but I'm still okay to put a 1 in 9 chance they actually lose Wink

And yes, can you and bullrun please pick 4-4 draws in your games to keep things interesting?

So we are back at a day where a lot of money can be made if we combine the right games in the perfect multi/parlay ticket.Sounds much easier on paper but I think this will be a good night just like last time around those teams played and very few surprises happened, the major one being PSG not being able to win against Benfica and I think tonight they are going to have a crashing victory over them with a huge goals difference.

I'm definitely going for favourite accas tonight/tomorrow and PSG is on my ticket.
3258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 11, 2022, 07:38:20 AM
Don't care. Putting whatever money left I can spare on Liverpool v City. 4/1. This was better odds than Community Shield.

It does reflect the sad state of affairs with the Reds. But we're playing at home and Anfield will take us over the line.

I don't know what's worse at the moment, Liverpool's results or my predictions. They've both been incredibly dire. I started off the season okay, not terrible, but it has been all down hill from there. Liverpool play Manchester City next, so I think that's probably a easy prediction for most users. Not sure, if they just chance it, and see if Liverpool can get something out of the game, despite how big of a miracle that would be required. At least, that's what it feels like at the moment.

Also, Haaland has been absolutely insane. Even when he isn't playing great or had minimal touches he still manages to find the back of the net. I suspect players will adjust to his play style eventually, but at the moment he's having a field day.

I know which are worse. I started off season at bottom of pool and am more or less still there.

I looked up our Roy Hodgson season, and we were at 10 games only with 6 points, so... yeah, we are at our worst since Klopp took over, but at least we're actually doing alright in Champions League itself -- while playing well, well below what should be our average.

What hurts me most is that we were the hungry wolves, chasing down everything in packs, mowing down opponents, biting back and running harder than everyone else.

We're still doing that with about a third of the team but it's just not working out...

Man, you just know you're about to lose it when you are staring at a screen and considering putting good money on Lazio away to Fiorentina.

3/1 odds feels like a steal, though, so I did myself a favour and put a normal bet instead to soothe some frustrations.

Damn, Superbru reminder came in, reminding me there's an entire lot of picks to make, I shouldn't remind anyone else, but what's the point of losing when half the pool forgot to put their picks eh?

My betting prowess is limp so far, but I'm going to take 1 pick against Real Madrid (Shakhtar didn't lose too badly actually)w, and then another "chase my losses" bet on Liverpool -1.5. Not wise, I know.
