3261  Other / Archival / Re: WasabiWallet.io | Open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin Wallet for desktop on: December 16, 2022, 09:26:45 AM
Not to mention the US government (and possibly other govs) is using bitcoin (and Tether) for illicit activities. Cracking down on bitcoin would significantly limit their own operations specially on social media.
The crackdown would have to happen in a way that it affects you and me (the regular taxpayers) only and makes it harder or close to impossible for us (the regular folks) to continue using bitcoin the way we want to. It's not going to affect them, and they aren't going to investigate their criminal friends and partners. They will investigate the ordinary guy and parade him in front of the cameras as a dangerous criminal. People can and are being silenced over social media. That's what fact-checking companies are for.
3262  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What do you think about trust wallet? on: December 16, 2022, 09:05:26 AM
A good example is coinomi. Coinomi has been always a popular wallet and considered safe by many people, but it had a vulnerability sending users seed phrase to google servers.
To be fair, I think that was only the case with the desktop version of the application and not the mobile one. The problem is, there is no way to verify it for ordinary people because the software is closed-source and we can only trust/distrust the developers who obviously have an incentive to defend their product and show it off to be as good as possible. They seem to have disappeared from Bitcointalk. I can't remember the last time I saw a post by them.

Besides that one user who says he lost a significant sum of money because they sent seed words to Google for spellchecking, were their other exact cases with the same types of claims?

Oh, yeah, right that's why most open source wallets are the most targeted apps of any hacks, scams and phishing, e.g. Electrum. I remember millions was lost and got phished not once[1] but twice[2].
That was very unfortunate and you are right, it shouldn't have happened. But that happened in combination with several mistakes made by the victims.

- They downloaded fake software from fake Electrum websites.
- They installed these fake apps without realizing they were fake.
- They never verified the signatures of the applications they downloaded before installing them on their computers. Had they done that, they would have noticed that the binaries weren't signed by an Electrum developer and aren't official Electrum releases.

I have supported the flag against the casino and its forum admin. When they created the flag, Poika5 mentioned Laki21000's thread (the one we are writing in) and that's why I can support it. I want to remain unbiased and neutral and since I am not familiar yet with Poika5's case and their claim against Trustdice, I couldn't have supported a flag created because of that incident.

I would also suggest that Laki21000 create a Type 2 or 3 type of flag for his particular case because he is directly affected by the casino's actions.
When you have created the flag Laki21000, you can post the link here so that other users can support it if they want to. Put a link in your first post as well.
You can also request support for your flag or the one created by Poika5 by posting about it in LoyceV's thread Request Support (or Opposition) for Flags here!. Just make sure you follow the guidelines as explained by LoyceV.
3264  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [PRE-ANNOUNCEMENT] Looking for feedback. Crypto Visa Card on: December 16, 2022, 08:14:06 AM
Good question! The first question, we will offer 2 type of cards. The first card has a spending limit of $2K/Monthly and will cost around $99/Yearly and the second card will have a spending limit of $5K/Monthly and will cost around $249/Yearly.
Since it's supposedly an anonymous card (the clients won't have to undergo KYC), these rates are acceptable.

Funding your card will cost around 3-4%. At this moment, we only have plans to support USDT/USDC because of the volatile crypto markets.
I don't know how much the competition charges for depositing on their cards, but at first sight this seems like a lot.

You don’t need any form of ID to buy/fund a card.
What happens if the card gets rejected when I try to use it? What if the site/service I pay to wants to check my identity or something and it's obviously different compared to the cardholder?

Do you offer both virtual cards and physical cards, or only one of those two?
Based on the first post, it's only virtual cards. OP also said they can't be used for ATM withdrawals, meaning you don't have a physical card you can insert into the machine.
3265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Listen me and double your money 17 december (ufc bet) on: December 16, 2022, 07:51:19 AM
I lost on roullete and dice sportsbook i rarely loss. Iyou just watch my thread and see how i right with my upcoming predictions.
You shouldn't play the games that don't suit you in that case and stick to what you know, which according to your own beliefs is predicting UFC fights.

It's a fight between two people, so the chances are 50/50. The bookies give both men equal chances to win, hence the 1.80 vs 2.00 odds. This fight alone won't make you look like a good predictor even if you guess the winner correctly. And if your tip is on the wrong guy, you will just tell us he was unlucky, the umpires stole it from him, he should have won, etc.

A good tipster has a history of verifiable predictions that everyone can check.
3266  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Will Hardware Wallet Manufacturers Leak Customer’s Email Data? on: December 16, 2022, 07:43:40 AM
Update #1:

More than 1 month has passed since this experiment begun. I have checked the email addresses several times during this period and the last inspection was just a few minutes ago. Besides the standard newsletters, there hasn't been one spam message or a 3rd-party email sent to any of the email addresses used for this experiment.
3267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bear market - previous experience / advice? on: December 15, 2022, 02:59:58 PM
It wasn't that long ago that Bitcoin was worth $4.000 and then it exploded and went to almost $70.000 during a global epidemic. I am not even going to mention previous cycles and bear markets. But if you have taken the necessary precautions and understand that the money you invest in an asset such as bitcoin is not something you necessarily need today or tomorrow no matter what, you won't be to concerned about the current value. No one likes to see red across their entire portfolio, but we are all in the same boat. If you believe in the technology long-term, concentrate on something else and don't beat yourself up because of the current state of the market.

Otvorio sam čak i temu u engleskom dijelu DISCUSSION: Bitcoin’s Integration with The ICP Blockchain. Neki su dobro popljuvali projekt i čak me optužili da shillam ICP Grin. Sve u svemu, nisam vidio ništa što bi mi zadržalo interes na duži period.
3269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is storing sensitive data on blockchain a wise idea? on: December 15, 2022, 10:01:40 AM
Not all blockchains have public ledgers. You can use a private blockchain to store sensitive medical records. Keys and access rights would be provided for those who need them, and those that don't, wouldn't have access to the system. So, If I was attempting to check the medical data of a random person, I wouldn't be able to do that. But if a doctor needs to access their patient's history to check if they can treat that patient with a particular set of drugs, they would be able to check it.

Medical data is very centralized. If you get injured while you are abroad and you are unconscious and unable to respond to the doctors treating you, the doctors have no way of knowing your medical history, and if there are some type of drugs you are allergic to. Instead of a cure, the treatment could prove to be deadly or cause even more harm. It would be great if such data was available to doctors worldwide and the blockchain is one way in which that could be achieved.
3270  Economy / Exchanges / Re: STOP THE EXCHANGE FUD; Everyone will suffer the effect. on: December 15, 2022, 09:42:38 AM
There was some POW nonsense on the Internet earlier this year, and there's nothing wrong with endorsing the Bitcoincleanup movement. Anything that benefits bitcoin and the community should be promoted.
Correct, but the POW topic and BitcoinCleanup has got nothing to do with the subject of discussion of this thread. You created a discussion about the need to stop the FUD regarding Binance being insolvent because you think it's harmful to the industry as a whole. Meaning crypto users themselves are shooting each other in the legs and hurting everyone in the process, including themselves. Greenpeace's initiative is an outside actor attempting to destroy and ban bitcoin the way it works today and force the network to switch to a less safe consensus algorithm. That's a much more dangerous affair than Sam Bankman and his supporters talking shit about Binance.

Have you ever thought what would happen if these exchanges stopped due to the unneeded FUD we create and support online?
A prolonged bear market with a new 30-40% drop in BTC's value (at least) is what would happen if Binance abruptly stopped the same way FTX did. It would create a chain reaction of negativity.
3271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Listen me and double your money 17 december (ufc bet) on: December 15, 2022, 09:18:13 AM
Not sure where you made those predictions, but it wasn't on this forum.
It takes very little time to go through your post history of 16 written posts and there is nothing there about previous UFC fights.

It is interesting though that a successful predictor as yourself (allegedly) losses $10.000 and asks what kind of drugs are best to cope with the losses. Sounds to me like the kind of person I wouldn't take any advice from.

Last days i lost around 10k and i want drugs to get me out out of bed what you suggest.

Cocaine and meth have baf come downs im nore curuios to try opiods like norhpine and oxycodone what else you suggest?

Are you done?

Now with that out of the way, the only way forward is you proving that the player is a malicious person who partakes in frowned upon activities such as late betting. You have not done that yet and instead you have made yourself look ridiculous with claims that bets were placed at the end of the matches. If you can't prove the player is a cheater, his account needs to be unlocked, so that he can withdraw the winnings.

Do you have any plans to post some proof of a late bet? It shouldn't be that hard for you since there are so many examples in the OP's betting history, right? I wonder why it takes so long...
3273  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What do you think about trust wallet? on: December 15, 2022, 08:52:10 AM
So do you recommend using the unstoppable wallet ?

By the way, theymos also recommend using this wallet here Theymos Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts so I guess it is safe to store all the crypto except bitcoin and Ethereum.
I can't speak for theymos, but I don't see him as a vivid altcoin user that would require him to use Unstoppable Wallet or any similar client to store his alts. I think that his recommendation of Unstoppable Wallet is based on other people recommending it. And I am not sure how much work those other users have done with the wallet. It's often mentioned as an open-source alternative to closed-source multi-coin wallets.

I have never stored any coins or tested the wallet thoroughly to recommend it to others. I installed it some time ago just to see how it looks and feels and posted that feedback that you quoted. I didn't get any negative vibe or a bad feeling while briefly playing around with it.

For bitcoin, I use electrum wallet, for Ethereum I use Meta mask and for the rest of the crypto, I started using Unstoppable.
That's exactly what I would do as well. If I had some altcoins, Unstoppable would be one of the clients I would consider keeping them in unless I can use my Ledger for it. Since Ledger supports almost all alts and shitcoins, there really is no need for anything else. Only if I need the coins when I am on the go. But I see no reason to move any of my bitcoin to Unstoppable Wallet with so many other options.
3274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Keep your money off exchange, in this crisis moments hold Bitcoin for safety on: December 15, 2022, 08:36:14 AM
what happens if Binance gets down today.I mean since they are like kind of a mother to trust wallet since CZ runs it, Binance goes bankrupt and trust wallet's follows ?
It shouldn't matter what happens to Binance or Trust Wallet if you possess your own keys. It was the same with FTX. If you didn't keep your coins on their accounts, you weren't affected by the exchanges' downfall one bit. The price and value of your portfolio took a hit but your coins remain yours, which can't be said for those poor bastards that got their funds frozen/hacked/confiscated by FTX following the bankruptcy procedure.

If Binance goes down, you can still use the Trust Wallet because it's non-custodial. If Trust Wallet goes down, you take your seed and you recover your coins in a different wallet. Then you sweep everything from Trust Wallet into a different client and set up a new wallet with a seed that has never been in touch with Trust Wallet.
3275  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 15% discount on Trezor hardware wallets on: December 15, 2022, 08:25:30 AM
Apparently, this will be the last bonus to trezor buyers this year.
Did they confirm that somewhere in their official channels or is it your personal opinion? Something tells me they will have some type of promotion for New Years Eve as well. They have been onboarding many new customers ever since the problems with centralized platforms began last month and can surely afford another discount if they wanted to.
3276  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: December 14, 2022, 07:59:52 PM
Kada pročitate članak FTX stored private keys without encryption, the exchange's new chief said onda možda postaje jasnije kako je neko "hakirao" FTX u danima oko njihovog bankrota.

3277  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand. on: December 14, 2022, 09:42:43 AM
Yeah, there are restrictions on certain boards but in all honesty, those aren't related to bitcoin or crypto anyway. You aren't going to learn anything bitcoin-related by browsing and posting in Serious Discussion or the Ivory Tower. You are welcome to participate in the discussions in all sub-boards that mean something though.
3278  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Keep your money off exchange, in this crisis moments hold Bitcoin for safety on: December 14, 2022, 09:24:05 AM
The exchange is not a safe place even though you have verified with KYC including the documents etc.,
It's even a less safe place if you have undergone KYC verification. Not only does the verification not help one bit in securing your coins, but the exchange now holds your identity documents as well. This is valuable data that could be hacked, sold, or leaked online.

Just now my friend panicked when he saw about the Binance news but he has realized and moved all bitcoin assets into a private wallet which he holds the key himself.
So the only reason your friend moved his coins to a personal wallet is because of the negative news he read about Binance? How hard is it to create a non-custodial wallet and be the sole owner of ones crypto? If the news about Binance was positive or if positive news gets released tomorrow, will your friend move his crypto back into Binance's custody or the custody of some other CEX?

It's Trusted because it's an open-source wallet.
Trust Wallet is not an open-source wallet. It used to be many years ago, but it isn't anymore. It's non custodial but not open-source and verifiable.

Stage fright is normal, many people experience it. It shows that you care because you are worried how it will go. So, don't run away from it, embrace it and learn how to control it. Be interesting and fun, and don't speak in a monotonous and boring voice. You can practice your speech at home in front of friends and family. That way you will gain some experience in standing in front of a crowd of people. See how they will react. Ask them for some feedback and what they thought about it when you are done. Ask them if you should change something in the way your present your ideas, if the speech should be shorter, longer, if they understood the points you were trying to make, etc.

Who is Steve?
Steve is connected to Stake and Primedice and a reputable person on this forum. I am actually not sure if he is the owner or what his function is. Anyways, he sometimes gets involved in scam accusations and posts on the forum when he has something to say. This is the guy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=81292

He was last online 4 days ago. I am going to PM him and ask him if he can take a look at this case. He surely knows more about what is going on than I do. If this is just a big misunderstanding that happened because the same addresses were connected to multiple Stake accounts, he might know how to get to the bottom of it.
