3262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 20, 2016, 06:43:23 PM
Us old timers would think that with bitcoin at an almost 4 year high, it should be fluctuating wildly. Up 20% one hour, down 30% the next day, that sorta thing. But the price for a long time now has been ROCK SOLID. It's climbing, but slowly and steadily.

Just proves, once again, that Honey Badger don't care about anyone's expectations.

This is the exact point I wanted to stress before by looking at those charts. The long-runners are here to stay because after all this time we basically realized that these prices will be memories soon.
Enjoy the ride

After having a closer look at the following charts I'm definitely convinced these price levels will be a thing of the past. I'm very much excited for what we still have to see.

There's so much choice nowadays.
3265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POS for BTC? ;) on: December 20, 2016, 09:26:02 AM
What's POS? Piece of shit? Proof of shit?

Explain.

Great and funny.

Back to business
Bitcoin uses an ingenious Proof of Work mechanism: PoW is a way to prevent sybil attacks by making each vote costly.
Bitcoin is by far the most important decentralized trusted computing platform ever existed. Contributions are accepted only if corroborated by evidence of dedicated hard work (mining).
PoS can't be as secure as PoW. Bitcoin needs to keep this mechanism.

You really did a great job by explaining the investment structure with so much details. I must admit I don't like the graphics much but you have a really good dice game out there. Well done
I'm into dice these days and this one is becoming one of my favorite.
3267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 19, 2016, 07:36:14 PM
I supposed this was just another altcoin crap (sorry if I did not look at it before) but I have to admit I fell in love with this project. I'm trying to stash all my coins into a single address to join this new adventure.
Very well thought, looking forward to it.

Over the last year, there are a lot of things that we honestly could have done better and we are taking action now to try and re-balance things even if it means giving up a significant amount of bitcoin out of pocket to do so.

All of you know that this race is won on the long run. Better lose a bit from your pocket now and then be able to earn more than to be greedy on the short term and make everything go nuts.
It will pay out, patience is required.
I like the quote on your homepage: don't forget it.  Wink
3269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet will it be snowing on Christmas Eve on OneHash.com on: December 19, 2016, 06:40:32 PM
I admire who is capable of even thinking something like this. The fact that is people vs people betting is even more fascinating. I will keep an eye on these bets since they interest me from a "social engineering" aspect.
3270  Bitcoin / Press / 2016-12-17] 2017: The Second Era of Bitcoin Begins on: December 19, 2016, 06:35:26 PM
It looks like they are getting it: Bitcoin is the real deal. The rest is nothing!

Article
2016 has been a fascinating year, where cellular mitosis has been bitcoin's guiding model.
The different camps previously in one group or cell have split. There are those who understand bitcoin and remain in its cell, and those that do not, and who are now in their own offshoot cells, “experimenting” on branches that are essentially non-viable.
The market participants who know how everything works, those in bitcoin, understand that there can only be one bitcoin.
There has been some excellent analysis making this crystal clear, and the fundamentally transformative work being done to extend bitcoin is categorical proof that this is true.
Bitcoin is the market winner because it is the first mover and definitive transaction layer. It is immutable not only in terms of the software rules, but the single minded, rational ethos of its protectors, who will not allow any corruption, hysteria or short-term thinking to spoil or endanger the project.

3271  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-12-19] Will Bitcoin's Resurgence Bring the Banks on Board? on: December 19, 2016, 06:33:09 PM
Two unrelated news items this week could, when looked at together, point to where bitcoin development is heading.
The first is that bitcoin’s price breached its previous annual high on relatively strong volume, and more or less held its position.
The digital currency has managed to recover not only from the Bitfinex hack earlier this year, but also from the Mt Gox debacle in 2013. This sends a clear message of resilience.
The support shows that governance and scalability problems are not enough to make a significant dent in interest in the cryptocurrency. And the relatively narrow trading band must reassure skeptics concerned about volatility.
With this performance, bitcoin is taking steps towards dispelling financial institutions’ fears that it is an unsuitable blockchain. While work will no doubt continue on private blockchains (as it should), this is likely to lead to an increase in banks’ interest in public blockchains over the next few months.

3272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 19, 2016, 06:30:58 PM
It should be clear by now that Serie A have three main teams only: Juventus, Roma and Napoli. The others are background actors.
I do believe that Juventus is going to do a Triplete this season: they are going to win everything. We'll see

It seems fairly obvious to me that Adam's been locked out because he's a shameless big-blocker. I miss the days when there was more than one technology opinion allowed on this discussed forum :/

He's been around here occasionally with his sock but it's been a week or so since he showed up. That's his business but I, for one, wouldn't have an epic thread here that I'd be willing to lose sight of forever. I know it's garbage to go from a legend to a schmuck account but one needs to prance around in his big daddy lounge w/ all of his minions like us. Tongue esp when btc is looking at taking off, or if nothing else it has exceeded expectations in the near past. Join the fun and ride the bullish fun together rather than wallow away on some obscure joke of a forum if even that. I pity his ass at this point.

That said, and if you're still perusing us here, Merry Christmas Adam. Same goes for all my fellas around here. And bitchez.

It's still Adam's thread, but not what it was without him.

I would love to see him back, and he ought to be (preferably off the leash and speaking freely of course).
I left to go to the other thread too for a while, but it's a shadow of what this thread was.  It's still not like it was here either without Adam and the likes of chartbuddy, though - so it's a shame.

Anyway, I wish him and all the Wall Observer Massive (past and present) a Merry Christmas too.

It seems like you are talking about Satoshi.  Grin
I would also love to see Satoshi back but maybe I prefer he's gone forever.
Adam should be delighted by this comparison  Grin Grin Grin

Enough talking... Let's break $800 which is more a 5600 CNY

Spalletti: “Juve? They are animals. They were strong, not us.”

This what Spalletti, AS Roma trainer, thinks of Juventus players. These players are really engineered, they look like machines  Roll Eyes
3275  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-12-15] An 80 Character Record in Blockchain (like Twitter) on: December 17, 2016, 11:33:26 AM
Indelible.ink has recently invented a way to store an 80 character record on the Blockchain. Coinidol.com caught up with Steven E. Williams, the CEO of indelible.ink, and asked him a few questions about his company and what it offers to the ...

Lol.   "Recently invented" using OP_RETURN?   Grin   That has been understood for years.

If they are claiming that, I'd beware of their other claims.

The OP_RETURN CEO of indelible.ink...... Roll Eyes

I could not expect we could get any lower than this in terms of Blockchain vaporware. Frickin' amazing how the "blockchain" is driving everybody crazy.

I will leave the following for reference

EDIT: OK now I get it

3278  Economy / Gambling / Re: To all gambling sites. Please make play money games on: December 16, 2016, 08:50:33 AM
bitkong.com let you play for free as well.
OP why don't you collect all the quoted games in the opening page? In this way everybody who lands on the first page can try this game before putting money into them.
Nice idea.

Hold on to your butts.

I've said it already but it needs to be said again: this really feels like 2013 right now. But this time is for real. There is no mt.gox to lead the way: trading is happening everywhere at every level.

Hold on to your butts and... HOLD onto your bitcoins likewise.
