My roommates name is on all the utility bills right now so that's the main reason I bought on coinbase. I figured I'll just hold my coins until I can live like a king in some futuristic sci-fi movie future.

[edited out]

top out about 1000-1050

dropping to 750-800

averaging out about the magical $888 signifying the Chinese triple fortune numerology conspiracy theory

for rocket ships and moons to start appearing

That's exactly how the numerology works... kind of random...  Cheesy Cheesy

Regarding your up and down in this scenario, my non-chinese imitation crystal ball cannot see any top  in the $900 to $1350 range, or anything in between that... either we be below that or we be above that...... and if I am wrong, I am going to turn in my non-chinese imitation crystal ball and request a complete and full refund, including any lillie fiends that I may have lost as a result of such mistelling of btc price fortunes.

China says UP
If China says up then the price will also increase here also and looking the price we're at $787, lovely Smiley I think Saxo Bank might be right with their prediction.

I'm holding my coins because I don't even know where I would sell them now that IRS is looking at coinbase.
Actually you can seller your coin on this forum and Theresa Snow/Alex2012 is a trustworth buyer/seller. Said this have did business him/her and was ok.

The Caribbean, Turks & Caicos, Bahamas and several other countries have zero taxes on income and capital gains.

If one were to start a business there funded by bitcoins then get paid a salary, if you live overseas, you can take in a salary of $100,000 per year tax free. You can also deduct any housing allowance your company pays you. You can drive the company car, ride in the company boat, etc. You just have to live outside the US 330 days out of the year.

Or you just renounce your US citizenship and live in one of those countries and stop worrying about taxes altogether.

Are you a youngin'? Why itching so badly to sell your investment?

A long investor must go long, meaning years. Warren Buffett has suggested to hold an investment for at least 10 years to see any real return. Can you do that?

I've bought and held my bitcoin for 3.5 years now, and have never sold any in that timeframe. Will keep holding all for at least another 5 years before starting to spend any, and will carry much to my grave and pass to my children. Will continue to buy occasionally when I have extra money.

I think perhaps you misunderstood what brokedummy posted.

He said that he'd just hold his coins until he can live like a king, implying that he would wait to spend them rather than sell them.

He may be a youngun (judging by the fact he has a roommate) but he seems to have a mature attitude regarding his investment, rather than acting like a typical impatient, childish trader.

Always good to do some research just incase we go 10x or better. Doesn't hurt to know your options.

Is that you Jimbo?

The guy does not seem to be as impressed as you are with the BTC ATM's in Toronto.
Is there an ATM you can recommend (no KYC crap and reasonable fees)?

I'm not itching to sell actually. I bought a day before china banned bitcoin the first time in december 2013, sold when it went back up and then bought back in on the way down again. Traded and mined alts during the years in between almost got rich a couple of times but kept selling to soon or holding too long. Despite a few big mistakes (lost a few btc on CGA and lost 3 to Cryptsy when they closed) I'm very much in the black right now. I have more btc than I ever purchased outright and the price is higher than what I paid. I think I do remember buying my first amount of btc for 1500 on ebay just to have some when it seemed like it would go up forever but that was only 100 millis.

psychology of $800 and halving kicking in was irresistible, $780 was a done deal, $800 and then who knows what .... $888 seems attractive to begin with

Nice price today.

Had a Christmas work party last night so this price is easing my sore head this morning.

Can we get over 800 and stay there? That's the question.

The price is looking great today, managed to accumulate a good amount of BTC this week when some of my Alt sell orders were hit - I've siphoned off a nice amount into my cold storage to hold for a while =)
