3261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Man Won $51,000 in Sports Betting With a Bet of Just $1.072 on: October 22, 2022, 06:21:22 PM
The man should not reveal his identity, else he would be subject to a lot of beggars and a lot of pressure from the society to help other people's plight. If I were the man, I'd claim the money, keep it on an offshore bank account and travel to that country and settle there for good. It's time for him to turn his life around and live comfortable. I'm not saying that he shouldn't help, it's just that it's not his obligation to do so. He could always give some to family and friends, but not to the point that his win will be diminished to something that will not be able to help him to start anew.
3262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much is your reputation worth? $500 or $50,000. on: October 22, 2022, 05:59:37 PM
I would certainly not pay for more than $50k to prove that I am not a cheat, but if I paid that $500 fine other casinos/platforms will recognize me as the "guy who cheated" and may even bar me from entering competitions or even just play on a regular table. It's a 50/50 situation, neither of which is an easy road to take. That $500 may not be "that big" for someone who regularly wins blackjack but it would sure tarnish their name. The $50k in court and legal proceedings is huge, but at least the world recognized that I'm not doing something wrong just to win on that table.
3263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 21, 2022, 11:59:45 PM
A lot of people.would probably be watching this just to see Pacman go in the ring again though of coursw with less intensity. Most probably, the stadium would not be filled by hardcore fans of boxings but jusr of enthusiasts. Pacman still has the power punches and speed at his disposal, but DK Yoo is still a formidable opponent that also has a lot power packing in his every punch.

I think Manny is still good for a few years of exhibition matches that can still be exciting for the public to watch until it is exciting no more.
3264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you win big in casino, would it be publicized? on: October 21, 2022, 11:47:31 PM
In Casino I think there will still be some level of privacy entailed to your winnings. Not much information will be divulged for security reasons and for sure you will still be asked by the casino if you want to share that you've won a huge amount. It is imperative that the casino SHOULD NOT do this without the consent of the winner because it puts the winner's security at risk, and we know how it works when huge amounts of money is involved. Privacy is important in this day and age, and if someone failed to do that, it could even lead to legal action that will seriously hurt the casino's reputation.
3265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Faucet and Bonus Farming on: October 21, 2022, 05:36:17 PM
It is the right of the casino to block anyone excessively claiming shit for themselves on the bonuses and faucets and not depositing any amount at all. If free rolls is what you want from a casino, stick with a platform that offers it regularly and READ THE TERMS of the bonus before making a complaint about your funds in the event of a win. Most casinos are pretty lax about it, but once bonuses are abused to the point that a user creates a new account to claim it, well that is something that is no longer acceptable and should have their account banned.
3266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Want KYC at Crypto Casinos During Registration? on: October 21, 2022, 11:12:20 AM
Basic info during registration is okay, but it's better if they ask it after I won something because frankly, what risk is it for the casino to create my account save for it just taking up space in their servers? Not much for them to just accept the registration with blank KYC even after I deposited something. They can choose to hold my withdrawals for KYC compliance, and that I wouldn't complain since they have the right to do so aa they are mandated by the gov't to comply with KYC.

Also, most casinos don't ask much KYC after withdraws anyway. They only ask so much if something irregular is happening with the account, and it rarely happens.

I was looking at the comments and saw many bets on EG 2-0 or -1.5. So I was tempted to bet on EG but ML to make it safe. But damn! Another upset and not just a 2-1 but once again a 2-0. All games are 2-0 now with Team Spirit and EG out of the tournament. So, is LGD next to heading on to Changi airport? I am starting to get tempted to bet on Boom +1.5. Few minutes left, I just went on Boom +1.5. Cheesy

This is getting crazier. I haven't made a bet on Liquid yet as it seems like we're in for a day full of upsets. If LGD gets upset, I'm gonna make a bet on Gaimin and Entity as well.

I kinda think that this year is NOT any big names' year. Lots of underdogs and Tier2 teams remain in the upper bracket clinching it out against each other. I feel like this year's TI is more hyped in terms of upsets and the teams that are unexpectedly performing well in the main stage even if they started at the bottom of the group stage. Boom +1.5 doesn't seem to be a bad bet given how most of the teams on PSG.LGD's calibre already left the tournament, or are now battling it out on the lower bracket.
3268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you get over a bad loss? on: October 20, 2022, 11:53:41 PM
I'd take the L. There's no use lingering over it and trying to make the money back the instant you lost it. You'll just pile up your emotions and pile up your debts on the way too. I'd rather move on and come back next week, eager to play without the loss on my mind. This will also enhance and test your self-control the more you lose big time. When you conquered your impulse, you can gamble pretty much any time you like without having to think much of the consequences.
3269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 20, 2022, 10:24:55 PM
Today is just another wild day in TI as heavy favorites EG and LGD got dropped to the lower bracket by TA and Secret.

I kinda get that Team Secret is way better than what they used to be and there is a good chance that they could win against PSG.LGD but I honestly have no clue on why EG lost though. EG was on top of the group stage and they were pretty impressive so I wouldnt even have the slightest doubt about them not winning against a SA region team

This is just your yearly EG on TI. Beast in groupstages, and mediocre on the main stage. How many seasons have we proved this anyway? 4? 5? Can't even remember. They always fall prey to other relatively 'weaker' teams in the main stage, and I kinda expected it, hence I never tried to bet on them even if the odds look crazily good on their favor. Typical EG TI curse, and it will continue for ages until one of them leaves the team.

1st, the man didn't have to give his gf more than what he owed her. She's being greedy and if the man gives her something then be thankful for it. The gf would probably even bar her bf on betting on normal days, and would only allow it to happen if he wins anything.

2nd, the boss is just a vile mofo that wants to get everything in his plate. Prolly should just be the devil and ignored everyone honestly. Go somewhere far and be done with all the shit they are throwing him.
3271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 20, 2022, 12:34:29 PM
I went 3-2 today. I felt bad for EG for choosing Thunder Awaken only to be trashed by the SA team. Also on RNG. I thought they got this in the bag after they left the throne standing alone for Entity. They got the right idea on using UD rift to Dire throne but they can't execute it due to their lanes being pushed constantly by Visage. Imagine if you're RNG right now. Almost all of you have COVID but you still managed to drag the game up to 100+ minutes. Insane day 1 of the main stage with lots of twists and turns.

Astralis - Eternal Fire is going on with the second map, Overpass.

The first map was a disaster for Eternal Fire. Dust2 was one of their most performing maps actually and they showed it by a great start too. The team had a good system and the score was even 9-3 to their advantage at some point. However they started to make the same mistake they made against ENCE. Astralis suddenly started to collect themselves due to the mistakes of their opponent and made a great comeback. The result was 16-14.

Eternal Fire made a good start on Overpass by bringing the score to 5-0 but they are still making the same mistakes which caused them to lose 2 rounds right after that. It is still difficult to believe in such team to win truthfully. Despite Astralis' bad form it feels like they will win anyway.

They still have to be confident with their communications, it seems. All of them have great aim and their raw skill is just off the charts. As a new formed team with veterans from Tier 1/2 teams, it's impossible for them to pick up their form and go with their flow. They'll pick it up soon once they share lots of matches, scrims, and games together. But so far, they're doing good.

Anyone else surprised about SA claiming upper bracket spot from Thunder Awaken? Lots of surprises as we head to the end of the group stages. BOOM just take down the seemingly unbreakable EG to hold on to tournament life, and TSM leaving the tournament very early into the game. Lost my parlay because of EG dropping against BOOM but man, SEA dota is something else when it comes to tougher opponents.

Boom Esports is still hanging on their hope to clinch a spot in the lower bracket. They got the first map against EG. They need another map to force a tiebreaker against Soniqs. They are doing everything to win against all odds. Where is this fight from Boom early in the group stage? It's like they have just woken from deep slumber and finally find their fight.

SEA teams play at best when matched against top teams but went too soft against supposed weaker oppositions. And just like that, Boom took game 2 and is now headed into 3-way tiebreakers with BetBoom and Soniqs.

This is a crazy group stage and no one expected this current ranking. The Last Qualifier teams Secret and Liquid are in the top 2 of their groups. My bets are bleeding as well. It's unpredictable, unlike the other TI where I earned hundreds of dollars. In this group stage, I only managed to win 3 out of around 20 bets.

Good luck to the top 1 and 2 of Group B, OG and LGD are waving at them.  Cheesy

Same scenario in here. Last TI I made a handsome profit from all the games, but that is because I avoided the group stage like the plague and I guess I should have stick with what works for me. This current tournament, I already lost 8 out of 12 bets and I'm already in the negative, but we love a good competition and I'll just bounce back on the main stage.
3274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why DCA Strategy on: October 17, 2022, 11:59:06 PM
It just helps you lower your entry price. It's one of the things that you could do to help manage your bankroll smartly, and it's been proven to 'work' most of the time since you're spreading out your buys over time that helps you collect more value in your stash too. It's what I did for the past few years and it helped me get as much bitcoin as I can over time without having to worry about the prices that much. Managed to came out on top a few times over with what I put in, and I'd do it again even if it takes years to take profits.
3275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 17, 2022, 11:42:25 PM
The point when hiring celebrities to advertise casinos isn't to make people copy their steps, but to make the public of that celebrity  become aware about the specific casino brand being advertised. So people who enjoy gambling (despite the celebrity betting or not), will have that alternative in mind when they want to play. Other fans who don't have interest for gambling will continue not having interest for gambling, while still enjoying the celebrity on the internet, unless they have some self-confidence issues which lead them to do what others are doing for acceptance inside a social group.

It's like them trying to 'leave a mark' on people's minds by using celebrities and taking advantage of their fame. It's not really something that 's new per se, but people often idolize celebrities so much that whatever they do are copied by the fans. Kinda like worshipping celebrities just because they think their idols look cool when doing X and they think that also applies to them. Obsession is scary, and it's a real thing which leads to a lot of devastating effects to those fans who do not have their own decision when it comes to crucial things.

Imagine if it happens widely in the gambling scene, good lord.

Hokori is performing really well, that is why I doubt RNG will be able to get to upper bracket. If Hokori beats Liquid, then there is no chance for RNG or OG for to get to upper bracket. If hokori ends up getting a draw against liquid, then RNG or OG gets to tie breaker with hokori. But with the current situation of RNG, they might just fail to secure upper bracket. If Liquid beats hokori, then the 4th slot for upper bracket is pretty much open.

It is unfortunate but RNG needa to thread a needle in order to secure an upper bracket and with their health in question, it will harder for them to do it.

Huge chance for Hokori to snatch the 4th place from the big names and secure an upper bracket run. OG needs to step up too and be more creative with their drafts like what they did with that Brood, else teams like Liquid and Hokori can just breeze past them and they'd be in for a treat in the lower bracket.

Never expected SA dota to be this good honestly. I know beastcoast has been a standard name for the longest time in SA  but damn they have lots of talents there.
3277  Economy / Economics / Re: Meta has burned $15 billion trying to build the metaverse on: October 17, 2022, 08:17:36 PM
I am not sympathetic with rich guys who are shareholders of Meta and that the company is doing something shady with the money without really providing many results. But I am happy that Metaverse thing isn't working out so far. Companies like this, tech giants, already know too much about us and have too much control. They shouldn't have more unless we're moving to a dystopian future. Instead of burning the money on trying to get even more private data to sell to companies to make people waste more money, though, these billions could've been spent on some charity, social, medical, educational initiative, so that is a shame.

Exactly. These guys are as nefarious as they can be, and they are doing a lot of things that most of us will not comprehend. They can create these projects and just weather the loss just because they have a lot of safety nets in place. Loads of futuristic tech projects have spawned over time, and only a few things have been really beneficial to the plight of us who can only imagine what it's like to have that amount of money.
3278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi network mining on: October 17, 2022, 05:57:45 PM
This scam has been going on for years. People don't really get anything from the pi network. At best, they are giving their personal info for free with hopes of getting some Pi coins and its value shooting up someday (which isn't going to happen anyway). Lots of tokens have been created with absurd takes on how they will topple bitcoin down, but not a single one of them ever did. Some came close (ETH) but still isn't enough to take down bitcoin's dominance.
3279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 17, 2022, 05:47:35 PM
Casimero needs to put some fights unto his name else, big fights wouldn't come to his name. The dude has a lot if grit and has a lot of experience going in to this fight, and I believe that he can carry himself quite well against Akaho, a relatively unknown name for me in the boxing field. Tale of the tape, the latter edges the Filipino boxer, but I know how Casimero fights, and I'm more confident in that than the other guy.
3280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 17, 2022, 03:25:23 PM
This sucks. The manager should really be penalized heavily for not disclosing that he contracted covid and it caused a chain reaction of events that led to this. Good thing I chose EG to win the bet, although for sure bookies would nullify the result since it's a no-contest match.

Valve and the organizer should also be more strict when it comes to imposing covid rules and health restrictions. They should have multiple swab tests too. But yeah, they're skimping too much on the funds.

I wonder how this will affect them after the group stage where they will play on the stage with other players. Will they be allowed to play?

If the players contract covid after they have done the swab test, then Valve cannot actually control it. Symptoms come out days after getting the disease. Unless you want them to get swabbed every day, there is no way of knowing it until the symptoms come out. It is the team's responsibility to make sure their teams are following COVID protocols and report immediately if symptoms appear.

They'd most probably be under a special arrangement, although until when, that I will not be sure. Either they have to forfeit the tournament or Valve treat them like they are some kind of VIPs, but should they reach semi-finals, they had to be in the stage else Valve and the organizers will have to device a plan to ensure that the room will still be covered even if the players have COVID. It will be hard that's for sure.
