3262  Economy / Economics / Re: Why cost of production only started to matter with ASICs on: April 12, 2015, 07:36:00 PM
Yes I am a firm believer that bitcoin value is based on cost of production.
Bitcoin doesn't work that way. Remember how difficulty adjusts to keep the Bitcoin production rate constant. Adding more total hash power does not yield more Bitcoins. This is not like other forms of production.
I can just give you guys some very insightful quote to chew on. It is a quote by Satoshi Nakamoto Feb. 21, 2010: - "The price of any commodity tends to gravitate toward the production cost. If the price is below cost, then production slows down. If the price is above cost, profit can be made by generating and selling more. At the same time, the increased production would increase the difficulty, pushing the cost of generating towards the price. In later years, when new coin generation is a small percentage of the existing supply, market price will dictate the cost of production more than the other way around." And I think that Satoshi explained this problem you guys are talking about so well in a just few words.
3263  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: April 12, 2015, 07:02:59 PM
Do both.

Invest 50% and save 50% (will change depending on your risk profile).
Saving more than 20% of your income is just wasting your money's potential to earn. You may do it, of course that is your choice, but you will be better with investing it, inflation of FIAT money are gonna eventually eat some of your savings away, depends on what currency you are using sooner or later. Check out this tool. It will help you calclutate your loss if you keep your money without investing: http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/
3264  Economy / Economics / Re: One-world reserve currency inevitable and will enslave all nations? on: April 11, 2015, 05:31:45 PM
I don't imagine it as inevitable as people may think. After all for global currency there need to be first mutual agreement of all nations. And that is not gonna happen, people are just to diverse and have different opinion on this. They would rather fight to promote their own currency as global and 'the one' instead of just accepting someone's else project.

As I wrote in prior post, China is trying with the AIIB. And the USA is fighting.

After coming global war and economic Madmax debt implosion, then the nations will beg for the compromise and cooperation.

The powers-that-be have planned this out well. They need massive suffering to get the world to agree. And they are poised to deliver this massive suffering. ETA 2018.

2016 will get the ball rolling with Europe and Japan going over the cliff. USA will follow end of 2017.
This scenario is not so unreal. In fact something like that could easily happen in the future, and then the only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation. But I am afraid that global situation need to be critically bad and real dire for countries to cooperate in the economic field. Money are one of the main area of contention between everyone from the dawn of time.
3265  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek officials have previously pointed to Russia as a possible alternative sour on: April 11, 2015, 05:22:09 PM
Why EU keep trying to help Greece? They know that Greeks brought this crisis upon themselves, by years and years of bad management of their economy. Why now EU or any other country need to pay their debt?
Greece should follow Iceland steps and file for bankruptcy of nation, also they should abandon the €. It is bad currency for underdeveloped economics like Greece has.
3266  Economy / Economics / Re: One-world reserve currency inevitable and will enslave all nations? on: April 11, 2015, 05:09:59 PM
A One-world reserve currency is inevitable.
The question is which country will issue it and will it be distributed in a fair and transparent manner or are we going to see more poli-tricks and manipulation at play?
If so, it will surely enslave all nations at the mercy of the elitists yet again.

I don't imagine it as inevitable as people may think. After all for global currency there need to be first mutual agreement of all nations. And that is not gonna happen, people are just to diverse and have different opinion on this. They would rather fight to promote their own currency as global and 'the one' instead of just accepting someone's else project.
3267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Describe the blockchain in one sentence on: April 11, 2015, 05:06:24 PM
The best and simple online wallet that I've ever meet.
I have been use it for a year without any problem.
The title "asking" Describe the blockchain in one sentence , not the web wallet blockchain.info (aks BC.info). I have seen a lot of people are confusing the word blockchain (block chain) with that webwallet (not real good, but this is my personal opinion).
They often do. That's why the online wallet should have been named differently. It is actually not good nor are any online wallets.

I'd say it is a transparent and secure public ledger.
There are opinions claiming that block chain is not secure as we may think, and in fact is quite vulnerable to attacks. You may want to check that here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1021233.0

As for me: Blockchain is just database of all bitcoin transactions.
3268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam or not? Coinbase offer up to $8500 dollars to small investors on: April 11, 2015, 04:58:16 PM
I find it really funny that Op posted this here and was not sure whether it is real or not. But after first fast glance at this message from "coinbase" I can tell that these conditions are so surrealy insane that either coinbase went rogue and are trying to scam everyone or this is some sort of fake coinbase/scam attempt. Knowing that it is not from coinbase.com is assuring. I just hope there won't be many idiots who will fell for it.
3269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 20.99~ The tilde as a candidate for the currency symbol for bits or bitcoin on: April 11, 2015, 04:37:24 PM
The tilde seems like a vague symbol for me. What's wrong with a symbol that includes the letter B?

Nothing, except that these symbols aren't readily available on a keyboard.  The tilde is accessible on any keyboard, even phone right now.
At certain point none of these symbols were available on a keyboard. I still don't have an Euro symbol € on my keybard, and as you can see I can use it quite well by typing 0128 while pressing ALT. If Bitcoin will be known enough symbol for it will be there when you will need it, for now it is too early. As even wider known currency symbols are not incorporated...
3270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kaspersky and INTERPOL Say Blockchain is Vulnerable on: April 11, 2015, 04:20:06 PM
thank god i own only Litecoin
Tongue

I really pity you, why wont you just cut the losses and enter some other position?
They said that every blockchain based cryptocurrency is in danger? Does your Litecoins are not based on blockchain technology? Everything is lost. No matter which cryptocurrency you own.
3271  Economy / Speculation / Re: is bitcoin price goes to 10000$ on: April 10, 2015, 10:25:50 PM
i heard about bitcoin in july 2014 and start earnig it from some faucet and website....then its price is 500$-600$.....now its price is 200$-300$
i read somewhere that bitcoin price goes to 10000$ in upcoming year....
i want to know that it is possible... Huh Huh

bitcoin $10000 upcomming year? not sure where you got this information but your source is not really trustworthy to say the least. i think we're lucky if we see $1000 again, let alone $10000
That is the harsh truth. Our market seems favor only the bad news, positive aspects of bitcoin news are just being ignored. For now price is closer to $200 than it is to $300 and I am afraid that it will go down even further. We won't reach $1000 this year for sure.
3272  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece's own bitcoin-like money on: April 10, 2015, 10:22:09 PM
The People of Greece might want to take it a step further and exchange their bitcoins for XMR. This allows for instant, anonymous transactions.  The tech could be layered right on top of any "e-card" the Greek government issues.  Even without that layer, all they would have to do is get their own wallet and use that with other people who only use their own wallets, such that the .gov has no idea if they are Greek, Americans, or Martians.

So you are telling people to ditch their bitcoins, sell everything and buy monero? Just to be sure that your transactions would be untraceable... No. I will tell you this, while monero could be 'safer' and more private than bitcoin in general but it is still altcoin, and as every altcoin it is destined to fall. It would be like investing in sinking ship for all these people.
3273  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NO Miracles in Koran on: April 10, 2015, 10:14:36 PM

They say there is proof.
When we ask for it they go to islamic sources instead of showing the physical proof from either Nasa or any other trusted source of intel..

NASA is hardly trustworthy. Anybody that believes any government source is truly gullible.
NASA is still better source of the information than old prophecy books imo. But that is not the point here. This religious dispute is not going to end well. Worldview opinions and the matters religion never are resolved in  peace because people are just too blind to acknowledge each other point of  view. It is hard to wn a dispute when you have no proof that things you are telling are true.
3274  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hitleap Is it worth it? on: April 10, 2015, 09:54:01 PM
Im not use Hitleap anymore. Formerly is worth and i can earn money from running Hitleap on my PC, but time goes by i cant earn anymore Undecided maybe the system changed.

~iki
I don't know about the past, but now I feel like theirs service is lacking, you will be earning peanuts with it really. And I recently read people's comment about Hitleap's premium service and frankly, there were no one who likes it. So long story short: hitleap is not worth it.
3275  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: where you get bitcoin every day? on: April 10, 2015, 09:40:43 PM
You could always mine it too..  That always works for getting BTC  Wink

Check my signature if you need a pool!  Cool
I like how you sound cheerful about mining. It isn't 2011, mining is not gonna get you rich. You would probably earn more bitcoin just to post with for some signature campaign than mining with a single rig.
In addition you need to mine in a poor right now and shared bounty won't be so so enticing, not to mention 2016 halving...
3276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you mine it or buy it? on: April 10, 2015, 07:35:32 PM
When i first started, I bought some coins in order to buy some mining hardware. But I soon found out that mining was very unprofitable already. I'm mainly buying coins today.
That is the sad truth. For me it is the same. Mining was already unprofitable when I first get to know about bitcoin. And since then it is time of big mining farms only and not individual miners... The only way is to buy it and I gotta say it is still great investment.
3277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 116 million on: April 10, 2015, 07:28:47 PM

Majority of bitcoins (around 75% of all bitcoins as of now) is now in Chinese hands so I imagine that they do not care about PayPal that much. They have local  equivalent services. I am not sure if PayPal even available in China.

What's the basis for that figure? The really large amounts in individual hands will have been mined long before China ever knew about Bitcoin.

If you're basing it off exchange volume, we all know how skewed they are in China because of zero fees and probable outright lies. There's probably no shortage of foreigners using them too.

I'm sure a big proportion of coins are in Chinese hands, but the reality is probably more modest than many think.
I based my estimates on this information: http://qz.com/359679/80-of-bitcoin-is-exchanged-into-and-out-of-chinese-yuan/
and this http://www.coindesk.com/yuan-trades-now-make-70-bitcoin-volume/
Also there are many other articles around the web that point me toward this conclusion.
3278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blizzard creates own currency "WoW Gold" instead of using Bitcoin on: April 10, 2015, 06:50:27 PM
Recently Blizzard worked on new kind of "token currency" and they did it! But look what potentially would happen when Blizzard (or any other gaming company) tries to create some sort of substitute altcoin (note: it is not real altcoin, and it's not based on blockchain or anything but just imagine what will happen if it would): http://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcrafts-new-token-currency-sheds-a-quarter-of-its-value-in-one-day/
They don't have any idea about economy...
3279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 116 million on: April 10, 2015, 06:35:19 PM
at the time this article was published in march the market didn't even react properly while it was fantastic news. if such news won't get people excited, what else will?

Something pretty significant, like really really significant.  Like talk about it in the news for days significant.

Paypal finally rolled out it's Bitcoin payments integration, and not even a peep from the market....

3280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it legal for somebody in the US to create and host a bitcoin poker site? on: April 10, 2015, 12:50:36 AM
Like the topic asks, is it legal, or illegal? I'm surprised the sites available now are the quality that are, same with the size. Just curious where the law stands when it comes to things like this, as far as licensing and such.

It is both legal and illegal and all comes down to where you are located in the US because the law varies so much state to state so what might be ok for you in one and me in another state am breaking the law. Add it being bitcoin poker and sure it gets even more complicated.

I do know of only a couple of sites that have a licence and that is PM vegas poker and BetVip poker although i don't know where the latter is based and i am sure others also have a licence just not played there or researched enough.

At a guess i would say most are are unlicensed but still not sure if that is illegal Cheesy  If you are thinking of starting a gambling site i would contact a lawyer to be on the safe side.

It is insane disproportion of law. To think that something is perfectly fine in one place when not far away across state border you will be prosecuted for doing the same thing! Insane idiocracy. That is the reason most of bitcoin gambling sites are registered in so called safe havens locations. If you want to start bitcoin related casino or gambling in general you would better register your business in Bermudas, Cayman Islands or Jersey.
