4.5. we’re seeing one after another of former staunch gold bugs convert: Turk, Schiff, Rogers, and possibly Casey and Rickards. the momentum is clear. they will be running to Bitcoin soon.
Schiff and Rickards? According to this video they haven't come around at all. They bash it quite hard to be honest. One might say: they're acquiring and will openly come around when they have their stash... I'm not sure about that.

Everyone and their hairdresser is now aware of bitcoin...
I ask at least one cab driver every week whether they have ever heard of bitcoin, and have done for the past year. Keep in mind that these people are overwhelmingly recent immigrants who make regular remittances to family overseas, a first-order use case for bitcoin, which would save them as much as 10% on transfers of thousands of dollars each year. Exactly one has ever heard of bitcoin. Regular Joe wont go to bitcoin because of fear to be hacked. Unless one will create way to keep bitcoins safe from bad guys and easy system how to pay for goods and services, mainstreamers will stay away from BTC. Myself I'm tech guy and even I cannot sleep at night because of fear being hacked. Imagine someone not that techy, family with kids who use that computer to play games, install screensavers with all the viruses and keylogers. I dont see adoption without 100% security solution. sorry, I have to reference the trezor everytime I read about this (supposed) problem. It can now be solved with $120.

Bitcoin is only down 4% from yesterday, goys!
...and 7% from two days ago. And 10% from two weeks ago... and 13% from a month ago...
Ahem... carry on!
...and 20% up from three months ago. Oh, we're well on our way back to the $400s I'm afraid. Some people here seem to think I take pleasure in watching the price drop. I don't. I believe in bitcoin and that was the reason I invested in it originally... but obviously we've derailed at some point and mainstream adoption is looking less and less likely. Look at the devastation to the alt coin market over the past few days. This is what is happening to bitcoin, just on fast forward. You know... the bigger they are, the harder they fall? pff bitcoin is not some facebook or twitter useless scam desperate for mass adoption. it does NOT need the sheeps. it only need the world to fall apart economically.. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) fu*k yea dollar collapse is imminent and that would hopefully be what is needed to take bitcoin to the moon but theres little room for bullish thinking......or is there? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) if your emotions and outlook move in direction of the market, you have a problem.

29.5 million.
Practically no change, while the price went down from about $630 to $525. 29.2 but yes: it's worrying this didn't get reduced much yet. Means there's a lot more to come < $500, should we visit that. someone has guesstimated the "real cascade" would start at $450. The only thing holding me back from getting fiat ready on finex is the fact that they might roll back the trades in case of chain-reaction event.

Think about it...
Where was Bitcoin when it was at 2.75 years old?
I think you will find some very particular similarities between the two.
I think the assumption that litecoin would take the same development path as bitcoin is quite a stretch, tbh.

Im just hoping that it is computer retard proof, as that is what I am
It is... it's just not "didn't-write-down-seed-words-proof" or "forgot-passphrase-proof"

My classic First Edition hasn't arrived yet, and the tracking number is not active on auspost.
The blog post says all classics were sent "flying" out by 25th July, but the comment on my order says sent with tracking number XXXXX dated 2nd August
AUS customs is holding things back quite a bit usually. It's not unreasonable to assume all is well, just slow.

Cool, "The Bitcoin Community" is listed as leading donor. Thanks for the find, Meni
In case you haven't followed up on the latest developments in this thread, I'll recap the story - after the $4730 donation they offered to list me as a sustaining donor, and I asked to rename as The Bitcoin Community, and donated an extra $270 to go up to the leading donor tier. well, thank you!

Looking into getting one of these but they are quite expensive when I could just use a cold wallet....but its so damn cool and sexy.
Problems arise when you are about to spend your so-called cold wallet. Yes.. it's quite the procedure. Trezor really is a godsend!

Great little device. Have a couple questions after testing one out.
It seems to freeze quite a bit when I plug it into my computer and go to mytrezor.com. It usually will work the first time I plug it in, but if I unplug it and try plugging it in, it usually will just freeze at the part where it says "loading".
I have that, too at times (less recently. in fact it may have stopped with some of the last firmware updates). I was suspecting problems with my USB stack. Well, there will soon be this little USB server (forget the name) instead of the js usb bridge plugin thingie... hopefully will be more robust.

Can someone explain to me some stuff from the following video:
![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FysSfjKu.png&t=664&c=MEbQeGxR1z_uRw)
About that GOFO (Gold Forward Offer Rate): What are USD loans collateralized by gold? Does it mean someone borrows USD and gives gold as collateral? If so this would mean the gold could be sold at spot price by the lender who would have to buy it again at a future point. Or he would just buy a futures contract. The spread between spot price and future contract would have to be financed by the interest on the loan. Did I understand that correctly? The very important features on this graph are the points when the gofo has gone negative. These are extremely important points because it is an indication that gold has gone into hiding.
What does "gold has gone into hiding" mean?
