I would buy a 1 BTC 1oz Gold coin now I give you 2 BTC for it! hopefully you realise that an ounce of gold is worth ~1.7BTC?

BTW, having some hardware way to isolate "broken" chips without having to cut traces on the board would be a good thing. spiccioli
pretty sure it was demonstrated that shorting the jumpers by the faulty chip causes it to simply by skipped over the same was as cutting the traces would achieve *i think thats what i read* all of them or a particular couple? spiccioli if you look at the chip's traces, there are two sets: 1 runs to the capacitors (or where capacitors were in rev1) and the other set runs to vias to another layer of the PCB. These have very small silver pads that pair them up, and i belive are responsible for the MISO commands and other chaining functions. if the small pairs of pads are shorted, the chip is no longer included in the chain https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250249.1040step 1: short the small jumper pads and see how it works step 2: if problem persists, either remove the chip or cut the traces (preferably a little better than how some have done it on here lol) i know there is more info elsewhere but cant find it offhand

CEX.io is the best right now. You'll pay a bit of a premium, but no term, easy resale, and instant mining. The website seems complex. Can I buy Ghash at any rate I set?I can even set 0.001 BTC per Ghash. Is that real? if cex.io is too complex, then renting is not for you. anyways, renting GH is not a very great idea, almost certainly you will get less BTC back then you put into it

I have a bitfury system that runs happily at about 37-40GHash (38GH average) and generally the pool has been good at following it. but today, I am seeing the pool report hashrate of only ~34GH on the 15min average, while the miner is happily displaying a 38GH hashrate and 37.3 noncerate.
whats going on? i had the difficulty at 32 and have moved it up to 40 hoping it might reduce the network delays to report better, but there is no effect

I think they want to keep the price down so more people can get the miners at more reasonable price???
I'll go 1@30!!!
i think you may have meant 30@1....but im sure 30BTC would guarentee you take 1 home lol

We will hold another fast auction on the bitcointalk.org, and this round will be super fast, as it last only for 2 hours. This auction will be started at Nov 24, 21:00 Beijing time, and ended at 23:00. (Beijing is at UCT+8 time zone) There will be 30 units for sale in this round, and bids started at 1 BTC.
might i suggest waiting until wednesday, so that recipients of the first auction can test the units and report back? Hopefully my UPS tracking number isnt a 4kg pile of bricks lol also, 2hrs is very fast, why would you expedite it like that? 12hrs is better IMO

it would be nice to see a step-by-step with a few pictures to make the process more fool-proof.

@sushi I agree, the photos, videos, and data of he project all look very real and very promising. The system looks like it is sturdy and well thought-out. I cant wait to have one in my hands

any plans to return to hardwars sales now that 200TH has been well exceeded? MBP left a lot of people with starter kits and nothing to fill them...

*sees picture* Wow this is awesome *reading through posts* *sees date* Oh wow, this was ages ago. Sup $100,000+ coin whats up, $750,000 coin?

1) the photo you show is not of the 1btc silver/gold round, but actually a brass one.
2) you could realistically get 1.2BTC for that coin, so selling it for so much less looks odd
3) no escrow?

All goods were given to UPS today. I will give tracking number in a few hours.
Great! Just got tracking info, it's shipped using UPS Worldwide Express. Scheduled delivery date is Tuesday, 11/26/2013, by end of day (Canada). same! very happy that they chose the fast service option, since every extra day of operation is >0.1BTC

just got my tracking number - these guys opted for the faster UPS option, and delivery is expected by end of day tuesday This means that i can probably add almost 0.5BTC to my calculated profits since i had anticipated delivery at the end of the week - thanks bitmain!

Hi all, a short notice:
All goods were given to UPS today. I will give tracking number in a few hours.
thank god! I dont think i was the only one beginning to get antsy lol as for the question reegarding 'why no escrow?', i would assume simply because escrow adds some delay because of the third party confirmations, and these guys likely want the BTC as quick as they can in order to fund the next batch. if they had to wait a week to clear the escrow, it might mean an extra week before they can pay for the next batch of chips or pcb assembly, just a guess.

ps: can these overclock? operating at 45C is relatively cool, it would be great if it could be pushed to 200GH
In this batch, the clock frequency of chip is 350MHz, and the overclock interface didn't be disclosed. We think stable running is more important than overclock running. makes sense whats the deal with the auction units? Its been 24hrs since payment for most of the winners and there has been no news on payments being receivedor units shipped/shipping...even an arbitrary update like "we are packing the boxes for ups now" would help set a timeframe
|
|
|
"shipment with UPS within 24hrs of payment" Its been about 10hrs since i paid, and no word from them yet (night-time in china i believe) so im not worried, but would love to see an update soon! If using UPS, I assume it can be received in Ontario, Canada by the end of next week, correct? It would be worth a few extra dollars to expedite it so that im not left miner-less for a weekend waiting on a monday arrival...

why are you guys getting so angry over: 1) "bitmain resembles avalon - it must be them and f--k avalon' Avalon has thier own webstore, where they are capable of selling 140GH units for 6BTC. They have no reason to pretend to be somebody else. Avalon screwed over the batch3/chip buyers, but now seems to have thier priorities more focused on in-stock products, it makes no sense to pretend they are a small second company with no reviews2) 'it wont ROI, the auction is a terrible idea because it sets the pricing bar too high" depending on how you do calculations, I beleive it is capable of returning 4.25-5 BTC within 6-8 months of operation. (If you think that we will see 130% difficulty/month forever, you will get much lower estimates - i beleive it will be hard to see the difficulty more than 85%/month). Running an auction clearly showed that a lot of people are willing to pay up to 5BTC per unit. If they filled an online shop with these in-hand, they could probably sell out with prices of over 5.5BTCIn my mind, i will likely mine roughly the same amount of BTC as i paid, minus some power costs, and will have a neat peice of physical hardware to keep. (and we've all seen the resale value on useless physical hardware - $20 for a 0.3GH usb erupter or $200 for a 2.5GH red fury - I feel like 180GH device will have significant resale value even 6 months from now) I won the auction with a bid of 5.00BTC, with a payment of 4.75BTC (my secondary bid of 4.75 didnt make the cut somehow). I hope they follow up on their word, and ship within 24hrs using a service capable of north america (Canada) delivery before the end of next week. If they do that, and the unit runs 180GH, I will be a happy customer ps: can these overclock? operating at 45C is relatively cool, it would be great if it could be pushed to 200GH
