3261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin worth so much? on: August 01, 2021, 03:57:58 PM
Many other cryptocurrencies have been improved upon based on Bitcoin. In other words, Bitcoin must be inferior to them, but why is Bitcoin's value number one by far?
Why is Bitcoin worth so much? Huh

The most important factor that is to be considered here is 'Trust'. Most of the people trust bitcoin for what it is. Bitcoin has got it's value from people's trust.
Bitcoin is not inferior to altcoins because bitcoin is best in it's category. A truly decentralized peer to peer payment method.
The trust factor has made bitcoin not only a payment method but also has made it a store of value.
3262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin an Investment or Payment form? Has it lost its purpose? on: August 01, 2021, 03:45:00 PM
There should have been an option for 'Both' in the toll and I am sure most people would have selected that.
The thing is, although bitcoin was meant to be used as a payment method it is now used as an investment method.
Things like this has happened in the history where certain things were meant for something but were used as something else.
Bitcoin is being used as an investment but there are people who still use it as a payment method.
Yes the transaction fees might be a problem but the Lightning Network will enable merchants/customers to send and receive payments easily.
So for the time being 'Both' is the option.
3263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Need beginner guide in gambling. on: August 01, 2021, 08:01:05 AM
I picked interest in Gambling recently and I love playing for fun, but lately, I lost most of the games this has made me lose some money and I would like to learn how to gamble.

I will appreciate anyone who can help with a guide or share a link to where I can learn how to gamble for beginners.

There are many guides on this forum to learn how to gamble. You can also use the website btcgosu to learn how to gamble.
They also provide reviews for many gambling websites and bonuses and promotions in those websites.

Apart from that, personally I would advice you that you should start with a very small amount and gamble with it for a few months.
Try to find out how gambling works and the pros and cons of it. Most probably we all end up losing money in gambling.
This is why it is best to gamble with very small amounts until you know what you are doing.
3264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: August 01, 2021, 07:45:16 AM
The most important point when gambling is that you are happy and relieve stress, without worrying about losing. you have the option to entertain yourself, oh well, maybe if I get free coins and use them to gamble, I won't hesitate to put them in the Slot every time Roll doesn't care to lose.
If we can play gambling to have fun and relieve stress without worrying about losing, that can prevent us from the addicting because we can stop gambling after we think that we already get fun and eliminate the stress. If we can do that, we can refresh our minds and go back to our daily activities without hard feelings. We should know how to treat gambling well. Otherwise, we can get dragged into the deep of gambling without realizing and do not have a chance to get out of gambling.

That is a good point. There are only two reasons why gamblers gamble on casinos and websites.

1. Profits
2. Fun

Those who play for profits mostly end up losing the money and only a few make good profits.
Those who play for fun are the ones who like the feeling of winning and those people can decrease their amount a lot and get the same gameplay.
Now onwards I would advice those who play for fun to decrease the amount so that they don't lose much when they lose the bets.
3265  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not a Game . on: July 31, 2021, 05:49:54 PM
Of course, cryptocurrency trading is not a game. Adequate knowledge and skills are required to earn through cryptocurrency trading. For those who have chosen it as a source of income, earning through trading is a challenging and skillful task. Although there are some traders that trade only on luck and gain from it, the issue is a lot like gambling. So it can be said that it is not possible to earn through cryptocurrency trading without a skilled trader as cryptocurrency prices are volatile and there is a lot of potential for loss if you chat without analyzing the market. So those who think it is easy to invest in it later call it fake. Understand that cryptocurrency trading is not a game, it is a means of gaining professional skills and knowledge.

Those who trade on the basis of luck are not trading but they are more like gambling.
Yes trading do involve a lot of risk as we might lose a substantial portion of our capital if we don't invest in the right cryptocurrency at the right time.
We have to look for good entry and exit points and use stop losses to minimize losses.
There's more to trading and we must learn all the aspects and start to trade with small amounts to get a practical experience.

I know Baby, it's improved, but it's far from clean... and it's the same in some other casino char rooms! Well, I would be very strict about this matter! I believe the same people are doing this in different casinos...

That's quite true. Most users are spamming on the chat and once you send messages like you won or something then random girls start adding you as friend with the sole intention of asking for some coins.  Grin Most probably they are fake ids I believe.
I think bc.game can implement some kind of wait time on the chat so that once a person sends a message he would have to wait for sometime to send the next message.

Especially if there is a big winning, everybody tends to be even more active and asks for money. Waiting time before sending a message or maybe increase the requirements before you can chat in combination with a lot more moderators should help in reduce in the chat. Even if they do all this, you will not see me on the chat lol.

Well, we can also include a filtering algorithm which detects the message and reads the context and filters for keywords like 'tip', 'send' and other related keywords which are generally used by those people to spam on the chat.
But I am quite sure that even if bc.game implements all those things, the spammers will find some other way to spam the chat.  Embarrassed
3267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: July 31, 2021, 01:16:21 PM
While many beginners think they are doing good in the gambling I don't think all the beginners fall in this trap.
I personally deposited money 2-4 times in the beginning and soon I realized what I was doing wrong.
I was able to understand the gameplay of the operators and then later decreased my deposit amount.
These days I just play with the free coins I receive on those gambling websites.

Using the balance you have for free makes us less burdened with defeat. That's pretty good, especially if you win of course any amount is not a problem. You will certainly accept it without a second thought. That becomes a lucrative bonus.

Ofcourse the amount we win from the free money is an added advantage to our porfolio but at the same time the free money we receive through free spins and bonuses is too low.
It doesn't make much of a difference to play with that kind of money if we are playing to earn profits.
But yeah, if we are playing for fun then we can surely use that amount and save our precious coins from getting lost.

I will have an unconscious admiration for legends, and feel that what they say makes more sense, even newbies say the same thing.
I want to know if you guys feel this way Cheesy

They may say the same the thing but it is how they portray and make their post constructive.
I have observed many times that while Newbies describe a particular topic the high ranked/high merited users portray the same message more constructively.
I guess this is why they receive more attention than Newbies. That's my perspective and I may be wrong as well.
But as far as you are giving out good content you will surely receive attention from the old members on this forum.
3269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's holding back Amazon & eBay from adopting Bitcoin? on: July 30, 2021, 04:32:16 PM
Most probably it's because of the regulatory concerns that is holding them back in my perspective.
The transaction fees might be another reason but it's unlikely that these companies are not using crypto because of it's transaction charges.
If it were so they could use altcoins with low transaction charges and high speed such as Solana or other altcoins.
Demand is still low for cryptocurrencies to be accepted as payments and most people hold it only for trading and investments.
I think in the coming years as we see an increasing demand in cryptocurrencies, these companies might start using them as payment methods.
3270  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 30, 2021, 04:07:06 PM
After the end of Euro2020 I am not really having a budget. I played mostly on every round during Euro2020 up to the final but now I do not know what to bet on. I never liked slots and such that much so I am in it for those. I am basically waiting for the major sports competition to come back to start placing my usual parlays. So, yes, I can definitely say that there is no budget at the moment.

Have you ever tried betting on cryptocurrency prices ? It's actually fun to place those bets at the same time it gives me thrill as to which direction would swing.
Websites such as freebitco.in hosts such betting predictions. Try your luck. If you are good with analysis may be you can use your skills to get some quick buck as well.

3272  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: July 30, 2021, 05:49:37 AM

UserU is right that these prizes are most often, although some lucky people were able to win even golden tickets. However, you won 5k lottery tickets, and it's also great. Maybe you might be one out of 10 lucky ones who will win the upcoming round of the lottery.

I've gotten 5000 Sats multiple times, 5000 RP multiple times, 5000 lottery tickets multiple times and I've also won a few golden tickets from the spins, so I've been lucky and have no complaints.

However, I don't have much faith in the lottery and I never buy extra lottery tickets for any rounds, because the chances of winning are microscopic.

You have a far, far greater chance of being struck by lightning than winning at the lottery, especially the first place prize.

Take last week for example, there were almost 306 million tickets and only 1 top prize.

That's similar odds to winning the top prize in many mega millions drawings. In other words, the chances for a particular ticket to win are pretty slim or next to nothing.

Getting struck by lightning has a 1 in 15,300 chance.

I don't expect to get struck by lightning in my lifetime, and I certainly don't expect to win the top prize in any lottery that has 306 million tickets and only 1 top prize winner.

I gladly take free lottery tickets whenever I win them, but I'm not going to buy any.

That sounds true. Even I have never received any benefits from the lottery tickets which is why I felt unfortunate not to win any 5k sats in the 10 free WoF spins.
But anyway, it's good until it's free. No complaints as freebitco.in is giving away those rewards for free.

UserU is right that these prizes are most often, although some lucky people were able to win even golden tickets. However, you won 5k lottery tickets, and it's also great. Maybe you might be one out of 10 lucky ones who will win the upcoming round of the lottery.

Yeah, let's hope for the best while not keeping any expectations from the lottery tickets  Grin
3273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motivated by "breaking the code" on: July 29, 2021, 03:49:44 PM
In my perspective it's not about breaking the code but about the satisfaction of winning and the reward we receive afterwards.
Gamblers are motivated because the joy of winning drives themselves to carry out different strategies to somehow win the gamble.
Not only in gambling but at any point in life where there's a competition, we tend to try out various strategies to somehow win that particular event.
I believe this is why all gamblers tend to gamble frequently so that they can keep winning the games.

And things often experienced by gamblers when entering for the first time to gamble, the house provided him as a winner to withdraw more funds that were issued the second time by the gambler. so that without realizing the pattern of the gambler's game no longer thinks about what he has spent.
Then continue to add funds to enter in larger amounts, with reference to the first win. as an impetus to keep going and winning gambling is the biggest mistake.
If you want to play with the residents of the Casino who designed the Gambling system, then the gambler needs to play smoother. play, win and withdraw profits if you have reached the minimum withdrawal. save capital then play again.

It does seem like that the gambling website/casino is allowing the gamblers to win deliberately initially but I don't think that's the case.
If the games are provably fair then the win/lose ratio is not in the operators hands. It just happens randomly.
But yeah we do get the feeling that we are winning but eventually we lose at the end.
This is why gamblers tend to deposit more in the hope that they win.

Well, on average, that's what often happens. As one of the effective promotion methods for casinos to be able to control the emotions of new gamblers who join. Plus the beginners think of him as a good start, even though he fell into a trap that was designed in such a way. Not a few addicted beginners spend their time in shackled gambling. Nothing can escape it.

While many beginners think they are doing good in the gambling I don't think all the beginners fall in this trap.
I personally deposited money 2-4 times in the beginning and soon I realized what I was doing wrong.

I didn't knew we had free spins on deposit as well. Just deposited some Satoshis today and was surprised to receive 10 free Wheel of Fortune spins.
It gave me a thrill to spin all 10 spins together so I chose that option but unfortunately I just received a few hundred spins and around 5k lottery tickets and just a few RP.
To be honest, I have never been lucky with those lottery tickets so considered it waste of efforts  Huh
So over all I just received a few hundred sats and few RP from 10 free WoF spins  Sad
3275  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance squeezes users on verification on: July 29, 2021, 03:40:34 PM
I have been flabbergasted, really, since I got that Binance is pressing and squeezing its users for what now seems a compulsory verification exercise by reducing its daily withdrawal limit from 2BTC to 0.06BTC for non verified accounts. I don't know what to make of this headlong as this is obviously killing the anonymous thing Bitcoin and cryptocurrency should stand for. Did anyone else who hasn't upgraded verification beyond basic one get that message?

Will Binance lose client base now. Will BNB take the hit and crash while this is on? There are many speculations going on in my mind right now.

What do you think?

Bitcoin is pseudonymous and it stays in that nature even today. Crypto exchanges like Binance are centralized.
We can't do anything because it's their exchange and they can decide to include any rule or modify any existing feature immediately.
This does not mean it is changing the pseudonymous nature of bitcoin. Bitcoin is still pseudonymous.
This is why they say that we should never keep large amounts of our crypto on exchanges.
3276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term Investment Suggestion on: July 29, 2021, 03:27:59 PM
As per the current market situation, many good coins are falling due to dot, cake and many other reasons. I would suggest buy cake, sol, and such coins for at least 5k amount, and soon those coins will return high profit margin

Whether or not the coins return high profit or not if you are planning to invest in any coin for a long term then you should make sure that the coin is potential.
You must do a thorough research on the project and the team to make sure you are investing your money in a good platform.
Even I have invested in one of the coins mentioned in your post and planning to hold it for the long term.
3277  Local / India / Re: Would you sell BTC for real estate ? on: July 29, 2021, 03:21:26 PM
I will keep this short and simple.

So I have got this really good opportunity to buy a plot in my hometown. The value for it is bound to increase in near future as per the locality and developments around it.
To buy it I would have to sell my BTC (not all but most of it). The question here is, would you sell your BTC given you were in such a situation ?

If not, why? (something other than speculation)

Yes! I would go ahead with this proposition. The matter of fact is that I have indeed sold a good amount of bitcoins from my holding back in 2017 to pay the token money for my first apartment. Banks have 80:20 rule for home loans where banks will pay 80% of the agreement value and 20% will be paid by the borrower. So I actually paid off that 20% after selling my bitcoin holdings.

For your situation, I will definitely go ahead with the property because we don't know what Indian legal system will bring us in near future. They may or may not ban bitcoin. But there's still a confusion. So I will prefer to have a property using my bitcoins.

I did sold most of my bitcoin holdings to buy the property. Fun fact, I had sold it few months ago when the price was at $60k.
So I am in profits anyway. This is my first property on my name and I am really happy as this would be so memorable.
I am just imagining telling my kids that I had bought my first property with my bitcoin holdings  Cool

No regrets to sell my bitcoins as I am accumulating it little by little every month.
3278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safety on: July 28, 2021, 04:47:43 PM
I have read several times on this forum where people said human error is what lead to vulnerability to attack but I read that air gap computer was recommended several time on this forum is not that secure while  Malwarebytes was also said to work base on how it was programmed, that is also not that secure and I believe in the next 5-10years Bitcoin price will reach 6digit and after this happens crypto holders will be the major target of online theft.

As a preparation for what may happen now and in the future, what are the 0% error/100% step a crypto holder or investors need to follow to avoid been expose or securely save his investment from attackers?

Anything can happen online. Humans created the machines, so there will always be a way to get in.
It's just that it requires some extra ordinary skills to hack into a highly secured system.
It's hard but doable and that is where we must put our efforts into. We must create a highly secured system to store our crypto which can't be easily stolen.
3279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is returning to $40K — But will shorts have their revenge? on: July 28, 2021, 04:01:00 PM
Doesn't make sense to short during this kind of min bull run we have. For sure millions is lost when the price goes from $40k->$36k->$30k again. Shorting is only profitable when the market is obviously going on a down ward spiral.

But since bitcoin has been steadily recovering and have break the psychological barrier of $40k, there is a highly chance that we are looking for the next big resistance which is $43k.

Shorting at $40k is a very good bet in my opinion provided we have our stop losses included in the trade.
Bitcoin price has been going sideways since the recent dip a few months ago. It has been range bound in $40k to $28k.
As per data from Glassnode, we are not quite ready yet for a bull run which is why placing a short at $40k does seem like a good bet.
But yeah, this is crypto and anything can happen here. Setting stoplosses and monitoring regularly would be best thing to do since price can spike up overnight.
3280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do many people call Bitcoin "digital gold"? on: July 28, 2021, 03:56:36 PM
I think it's because bitcoin has the same value as gold.  the same is possible for investment but the difference is that gold does not have a fast and high increase like bitcoin, and bitcoin also cannot be as safe as gold.

Bitcoin has a similar intrinsic value as that of gold. A lot of people invest in gold and a lot of people invest in bitcoin too and it's just a matter of their prioriities.
I think bitcoin and gold both are equally unsafe. A thief can steal your physical gold whereas a hacker can steal your bitcoins if you don't have the proper security.
Matter of fact I think bitcoin is more secure if we don't leave any vulnerabilities.
