TBH it is looking a bit unpredictable bar Barty, Muguruza, Medvedev and Zverev,
thats how it feels to me so im holding off with betting tomorrow.
Not many value matches tonight but I have to play something so I went with:
Karatsev ML @1.55, I am a bit afraid of his tendency to make unforced errors but he is much better player
Bencic ML @1.6, odds are this high because her opponent has a nice win streak but Benici is 4 times better player so i expect her to get this easy
Ram/Salisbury to win 2:0, they are playing against guys who never played a professional doubles match so should be a slam dunk

Yes handy enough win by Ram/Salisbury. Vencic is playing at the moment and has
lost the first set, its on serve in the second so hopefully she can take it to 3 sets
and secure the win for you Trofo.

Wasn't able to really see some matches yet, only some highlights, but too bad that Goffin is already out in the first round with 3-0. He used to be a (very) good player, even reached the top 10, but the last couple of years he is only a shadow of himself...
He lost his touch after a long injury, this is often the case with big players after long injuries it takes a struggle to get back to the top, Murray and Cilic are one of them.
Yesterday Murray needed a long time to go to the next round, an interesting match but doubted he would be able to go further with his current condition needing extra energy to stay in this major tournament.

What Andy does have is immense skill, which is with his fitness level compensating for
his lower maneuverability and speed. In some tournaments last year he also
had a lot of 5 set wins but against say the top 5 he isnt going to keep with them.

I have a basic Bitcoin website, I bought the domain from
https://www.orangewebsite.com
Payment in Bitcoin and anonymously

Hosting is by https://www.hostinger.com
Again payment by Bitcoin and anonymously.

Because of this my address is showing
"connection is not secure"
anyway I havent experienced any issues so far with the hosting and Wordpress
for example has been automatically updated.
3263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "cash in, cash out" on: January 18, 2022, 09:25:26 PM
There will always be people looking for what could be seen as a quick fix, people who
dont necessarily care about Bitcoin, just what they can get.

Until Bitcoin is widely accepted as legal tender everywhere  Bitcoin will always be liquidated
for FIAT in order to cover costs and expenses but there are many of us who couldnt
forsee us "cashing out".

Anyway there is nothing to fear as long as there is more demand than supply, the Bitcoin
you want to sell will be promptly bought up.
3264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 18, 2022, 07:07:02 PM
Well, Raducanu won in the women's, which surprised me a bit as she is coming back from Covid. But it turns out Sloane Stephens was also coming back after a break, so was a bit rusty. Very difficult to gauge the level players are at so early in the year.

Nice win for Andy Murray, too, I'm very happy for him to win again at the tournament where a few years ago it looked like he would retire from tennis.
However it was a 5-setter, and last year showed that he struggles to maintain performance across a lot of matches in a short span of time, so he may suffer more than expected in the next round.

Yes great win for Andy and Emma, a lot of people wouldnt have predicted either.

A few casualties today IMO, Fernandez is out by Inglis from Australia and Kvitova
knocked out by Cirstea, and also Kerber knocked out early. Really dissapointed for Leyla,
I was expecting more from her.

TBH it is looking a bit unpredictable bar Barty, Muguruza, Medvedev and Zverev,
thats how it feels to me so im holding off with betting tomorrow.

COVID restrictions and protocols are having an effect on everything and its frustrating
to say the least. I recon its a right headache for sports organisations to manage.

In the six nations my betting for the first weekend will be Ireland to beat Wales,
England to beat Scotland and France to beat Italy, fairly straight forward although
Wales could challenge Ireland.

As I mentioned over on the Tennis thread, I'm sick of Spertsbet and their
Rugby offering and I'm going to move to Nitrogensports, do you have a referral
link Timelord?

This is the offering from Sportsbet on my app for Rugby Union "Future events"

3266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Growth of Bitcoin? on: January 17, 2022, 09:35:28 PM
We have to remember that Bitcoin is decentralised so I'm sure there are trades
happening which cannot happen in traditional markets. Whale manipulation
has always been present in the Bitcoin markets, its not a new thing so thats not
going to dissuade people or countries from getting into Bitcoin.

Whale manipulation is nothing to be worried about if you are a HODLer and
they can only manipulate to a certain degree.
3267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 17, 2022, 07:54:15 PM
Some games I played:
Alcaraz to win 3:0 @2.1
Mofiels -7.5 @1.75, this one could end up as forfeit and void bet easy so be careful if you need the game for some bonus
Carreno Busta to win 3:0
Kokkinakis set handicap -1.5 @1.6
Azarenka -5.5 @ 1.6
Very happy how the first day went, everyone apart from Kokkinakis passed easy. Can't believe Kokkinakis lost 3:0 in sets, a guy withe serve like his should be able to at least get himself to tie break on his home tournament. I watched him against Cilic the other day and he was super solid, definitely more than enough to pass somebody like Hanfmann.

Well done Trofo, good result for today for you.

I'm out of funds on Sportsbet and not sure whether to change to a different
site because I cannot bet on Rugby with them.

Meanwhile (it feels like all my posts in this thread contain the phrase 'BREAKING NEWS!'), so i'll continue the trend here...

Breaking News!!!
The French sports minister has announced that all athletes will have to be vaccinated in order to attend and compete in sporting events in France.

Yea I saw this on Euronews today, I thought it was just a proposal but there we
are, trouble ahead for Djokovic.

Just watched the highlights of Nadal v Giron on Eurosport, oh Rafa looks quite sharp
winning in 3 sets, great to see him back.
3268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 17, 2022, 10:33:19 AM
As @Trofo says Rafa may go far but probably not to the final but for sure
he will be targeting the French GS.

Not a great start to my AO betting with 2 losses.

Harris beaten by Vukic who is a wildcard entry

Kenin beaten by the favourite Madison Keys, I thought it was worth a bet
against Keys as we have seen so often winning one tournament can
result in an early exit from the next but yea Kenin has become unpredictable
and seems to be struggling mentally through some matches.
3269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your guidance is needed on: January 17, 2022, 07:26:13 AM
Good advice by everyone and we are all pretty much saying the same things.

$hitcoins - the lure of buying something for next to nothing and hoping/believing
that it will 1000x is very attractive but the reality is different. There are new coins
every day and all are looking for attention, its impossible to know in advance which coin
will get the most attention and become pumped, there are 8000 approximately, they are all risky.

Ponzi/HYIPHigh Yield Investment Programs schemes - are specifically designed to
seperate you from your investment. They look unbelievably attractive but are not real.

Wallets - get yourself a good hardware wallet and take control of your Bitcoin rather
than trusting them to custodial wallets like Coinbase or Binance or any other exchange.
Get your hardware wallet from the original source, not from ebay or amazon for example.

3270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uruguay installs its first Bitcoin ATM on: January 16, 2022, 11:22:50 PM
Good news and position if it's a tourist spot.

There will be tourist that would try to withdraw their crypto and exchange it with fiat there when there are no other ATMs that they can use. Or at least, they want to spend it for their vacation and trip.

I think the strategy of placing it there is good and hopefully that the fee would be lesser than the usual ATM that charges 3% and up for some of those that I've seen.

Location, location, location, the same as property the position is key. I ever
I come across a Bitcoin ATM I would definitely use it just for the experience,
I'm sure there will be people who will use this especially as it's in a prominent place.

In the grand scheme of things 1 ATM is very small but its all plus regardless of
quantity or size

Breaking news... Djokovic's appeal has been rejected and he'll be deported.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-60014059

That was his final appeal, so it's definitely happening now. He officially "poses a threat to public health", and will be deported.

No-one comes out of this looking good.

What a drama and series of bad decisions. Hope now it is all settled and we can actually start to talk about tennis and enjoy some good matches. AO is stating tonight for us Europeans so lots of matches to scout and make some bets. Will probably drop by later with some of my selections if there is anything good. Hate odds at BO5 matches, they are always so low on ML and handicaps have a way to go wrong in them as well. Players often leave one set without fight and conserve their energy for the rest of the match.

Exactly, now we finally can start talking about the AO itself as Djokovic dominated the news the last couple of days. It has been a lot of unnecessary drama but in the end the AO government took the right decision. Haven't had time yet to check the first round matches yet but will be curious to see your picks!

Yes please lets talk about the up coming games and how we plan to make
our bets. As Rafa said in this statement below from SkySports website,

"No one player is bigger than the Australian Open"

https://www.skysports.com/tennis/news/12110/12516804/novak-djokovic-set-to-be-deported-from-australia-after-losing-second-visa-appeal-hearing

We have debated Djokovic's journety pver the last week and its done, he's
going home and the tournament will continue.

Do you think Rafa will have extra motive to win this year, I know it will
be tricky for him but to win this 21st slam and get one up on Roger and Novak
will be something very special. ?
3273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2022 bear market? on: January 16, 2022, 02:05:38 PM

It seems to me that the smart ones have played the majority again, and while everyone is waiting for some extremely low prices, they are accumulating and waiting for the right moment for a new pump. If you believe what you say, place your buy orders between $16k and $22k, although something tells me you'll get tired of waiting Wink
Maybe I am completely wrong, but I have a feeling that OP would be too scared of buying BTC if it drops between 16-22k, like many others. I mean, he is already talking about bear market just because BTC went down ~35%. Same thing happened last summer, everyone was talking about bear market, while instead BTC made another all time high.

And yeah, I agree that is much better to start buying now instead waiting for some specific prices which may never come. You don't have to immediately buy with everything you have, but DCA is not a bad tactic. At least that's what I am doing.

And when we look back when Bitcoin is $60k there will be those complaining
they didnt buy in the $40k's.

There will always be those calling for the bear market.

Long term we know the Bitcoin price will be higher, it just takes time, buy the dips
and be positive in the future, you dont need to ask the community about that move.

Will probably drop by later with some of my selections if there is anything good.

I've not seen anything that looks hugely appealing so far.
One thing I do think is going to happen in the women's, where I think Raducanu will lose, but the odds aren't amazing and so not really worth taking the risk. I do think she'll have a better year than many are predicting, but she's currently coming back from a break after contracting Covid last month. If she hadn't lost 6-0 6-1 last week, the odds on her losing in the AO might be more appealing. But as I'm from the UK, I would feel bad betting against her anyway.

For tomorrow I see a few, I have a small bet on Harris against Vukic.
There is also:
Nakashima 3.25 - 1.35 Berrettini
Norrie 1.57 - 2.43 Korda

Kenin 2.55 - 1.53 Keys (can madison carry her form from the win at Adelaide?)

I love Murray as a tennis player but his return to the top of tennis will be very difficult, if not impossible.

Yes, it's difficult to see him challenging for slams again.
He was good in patches last season, and in a one-off match he was capable of playing with the top ranked players. It was just that his body couldn't maintain it, and it seemed like every good victory was followed by a disappointing defeat as his body struggled to play consecutive matches in a short space of time. That is where this week has been encouraging, he's beaten some good players and been able to keep going, round after round.

So he may not challenge for slams again, but he is certainly getting closer to that level, even if it may be impossible to regain it exactly.

I have to say that Andy Murray has left his golden age way behind in the past and I highly doubt that he will be able to challenge others in tier-1 tennis right now.

The thing is that the body won't be able to cope up with sports after 30 or 32. You lose pace, power, and in some cases the mentality to win or the hunger to win also declines. The same thing goes for Murray. I don't think that he will be able to win another tournament again. What he can now do is play for his enjoyment and when the time is right, retire.

Andy is favourite to get past Basilashvili on Tuesday,  He has a chance for sure.
He made some good wins against higher ranked players last year and will be
pumped up to better his performance this year.
3276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Changing my Thoughts And Behaviors. on: January 15, 2022, 08:38:43 PM
After learning about Bitcoin I've learned about finance and investing in general(and other supplementary topics). And while I really am enthusiastic about Bitcoin, I sure like talking about other subjects that interest me as well. Bitcoin is great and all that but you shouldn't revolve your entire life around it.

The same for me, after getting into Bitcoin I have become more financially "aware"
I am by no means an expert but I know more now than I did before.

Lately, I discovered I don't find any discussion that is not Bitcoin-related interesting and start loving more privacy than crowd or working with people who are not Bitcoin enthusiasm motivating.

Its important to have other outlets, "Variety is the spice of life". I'm lucky that all
my family are into Bitcoin but I have lots of other projects Gardening, Woodwork,
Mechanical Work and general house maintenance
ongoing too. Its nice to mix things up,
and of course there is the day job too.
3277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tonga to copy El Salvador’s bill making Bitcoin legal tender, says former MP on: January 15, 2022, 10:41:38 AM
If it does take until November to be adopted then we mightve seen another crash and a rethink by then.
I don't think policymakers are stupid weak hand investors who see a tiny portion of the chart like 2 weeks and think price is shooting up or dying that leads to decisions like this! They definitely look at the whole picture and the 13 years worth of market history to decide whether they should go ahead with the adoption or not.
In other words someone who looks at the whole picture doesn't give a crap about short term fluctuations no matter their size.

I tough it the bill was already introduced and voted for, I'm quite puzzled, why does it take till October to submit it to the Parliament if you're so sure it will pass? So it takes 2 months for all the legal procedures but 10 months to draft the bill?
It is indeed weird but it may be because they need to build some infrastructure first, maybe a Chivo 2.0 govwallet and stuff like that before the Parliament passes the bill.

I agree, if any country is going to follow El Salvador they really have to be informed
about all aspects of Bitcoin and have the resolve to stay strong throughout Bitcoin's
journey. I would imagine there will be a lot of consultation, reports and communication
with the El Salvador government for example, this all takes time.

So this weekend sees one tournament on "Pause" United Rugby Championship
and another resume Heineken Champions Cup.

Round 3 resumes this weekend, games starting tonight. As per a previous post the organisers
have a difficult job to try an fit the previous postponed games into the season and with the
Six Nations Championship starting in the first week in February its going to get really tricky

The events surrounding his travel and COVID results is just too vague, the incorrect filling
of the immigration papers is also something unbelievable and also I wonder if what he said
in the interview at the airport with border force was different to his statement from a
couple of days ago?

He's tried to lie his way in, and then lied to cover it all up.

It does lend weight to the theory that whenever he appears to get "injured" at critical moments in a match, and throws his opponent's concentration out, and then miraculously makes an instant 100% recovery moments later, that it's all an act. More lies and deception, just to get what he wants.

He's one of the greatest tennis players ever, arguably the greatest... he shouldn't have to stoop to these tricks to get into a country, and he should have to do the same in matches, either.

I would liken it to the cheating which has poisoned soccer,  feigning injury, fans would
probably call it gamesmanship. Prove your greatness with your skill, not your acting abilities.

He is definitely a controversial figure, his fake injuries, his bouncing the ball 15 times
before every serve, his disqualification from the US GS, setting up an independent
players body with minimal support and now this, it all had to come to a head, unfortunately
in a big way like this which really affects his future (short term)
3280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 14, 2022, 07:28:55 AM
Breaking news... Australia have cancelled Djokovic's visa again!

I think this is the right decision. He should never have got a visa in the first place as he didn't meet the criteria, he tried to cheat and lie his way to getting one. His apology or explanation (or whatever it was) the other day really sealed it for me, and removed any empathy I might have felt for his situation. It was so obviously manipulative, and the way he tried to cast himself as a well-meaning innocent and throw all the blame on one of his team was just pathetic.

The whole thing doesn't reflect well on Djokovic, and the way it's been handled doesn't reflect well on Australia. But it's the right decision.

... is there time for another legal appeal before the tournament starts?

Ah you beat me to it !!!

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-59991762

The situation may have been handled a bit badly but I think the situation was complicated
given that the AO and state or Victoria were involved, The Border Force did their job initially.

I think this decision is aligned with popular opinion.
