Wow, almost 10TH delivered so far? That is amazing

10th = 2% of the network speed those little usb sticks sure add up and thats not including all the other distributors including europe & asia
the best thing that can happen for bitcoin is to have 7 billion of USB stick miners out there instead of concentrated hashing locations that are 25%+ of the network...
all these new companies are chasing the wrong crowd with complex equipment...

IMO- They WANT it to be centrally located.
This way THEY can have a CONTROL of it.

Wow, almost 10TH delivered so far? That is amazing

What's also amazing is the sometimes blazing speed at which transactions are verified!

I hope we get our .10's soon.

Hoping friedcat wouldn't toss distributors around by telling them different things... so probably ours is very close! probably we'll see something very soon.

"BTC Guild is offering erupters for previous customers at .4 BTC each."

I understand the coupon over at BTC Guild as one BTC Guild is offering on their own behalf. They did previously offer 0.15 BTC coupons back when Canary and everybody else did and they are out just like Canary and everybody else has been. This 0.4 BTC coupon is just BTC Guild offering them because BTC Guild had a recent price drop... not actually coupons from friedcat although they have a similar style.

Thanks.
Did not know that.
Somebody is selling them as coupons and directing traffic to BTC Guild.
In other words ALL RE-SELLERS cannot compete as all sales go to BTC Guild.
:-(

Canary,

Any word on the new blades which you mentioned may support usb?
from what I've heard, they should have a USB port on them too.
not over-clockable, a little bit smaller.  hashing wise, not any "better" (same chips, just repackaged differently I guess)

not released yet.

Are they more efficient to run?
3292  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer & Hubs "Oh Pi"! on: August 21, 2013, 05:18:27 AM
Hi, i've tried to read the Guide, but when i launch the bat with :

cgminer-nogpu -u xxxx -p x -o http:/xxxxxx  --icarus-options 115200:1:1

i get an errore message : Usb Init open device failed err -12 you need to install a WinUsb driver for Amu Device 8:X (where X is one of the usb port number)

What can i do?

EDIT : Ok, i've resolved with Zadig. But how can i select the USB i want to mining?
With the command

--icarus-options 115200:1:1  --icarus-timing 3.0=100

All the USB start to work.
On the latest, you shouldn't need to specify icarus options and icarus timing as it knows the devices and has correct timings for them.

To restrict which USB devices, check the main README searching for the words "Advanced USB options:" for a comprehensive rundown.

Thanks for dropping by.
Your Work and Help is always Appreciated!

I've always though that the first country to recognize btc will rule the world... Germany ain't too far from it...
If they are smart, they will create a tax-free btc trade zone and watch their economy take off in the next decade... I'd open a company there...  Grin

Where's the bitcoin foundation on lobbying country/governments of say Iceland to make btc an on par currency?Huh

READ CAREFULLY:

Germany is the first country which will officially be accepting Bitcoin and classifying it as a private currency, which has great implications as it will mean that some commercial profits on Bitcoin related endeavors may be taxable.
 Wink
I believe this puts BitCoin in the same Category as Gold and Silver.

Have been watching this thread for a while, and it's been really helpful!

For rPi, I saw a post (that I can't seem to find.. I think on Reddit?!?!), that mentioned an alternative to MinePeon, called PIckaxe.  I've used it for a few days now, and it's been extremely stable!
https://github.com/stronginthearm/PIckaxe

If you prefer Raspbian to Arch, this might be an option.  I've decided to play with it, gave it a few additions as well:
https://github.com/sephtin/PIckaxe

I'm really hoping to be able to get in touch with the author, but have no idea how to contact them!  If you know stronginthearm, please PM me!!

It uses BFGMiner, but as soon as I find that someone has a decent grasp of how to fix the libusb problems for cgminer on Raspbian, I'll be switching it over (for my use, at least... If the dev. is ok with my working on it, I'd be happy to make it an option in the GUI...).

Thanks!
Will add to OP Sunday...

USPS sent status update that it's out for delivery this morning. This is some insane service given $5.35 shipment label I purchased for a small flat rate box. Puts this in perspective considering these things crossed the border two days ago. Canary's logistics are top notch.
I received my EXPRESS less than 20 hours from the time The Elves shipped it!

3299  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL board project COINTAMINATION - Production board ready on: August 17, 2013, 02:15:09 AM
is there selling boards with full soldered parts but without BFL chips possible to order?
I'll like to solder the chips by myself if they arrives. Some samples are allready waiting for soldering Wink
That would be difficult. How do you want to solder your chips when the rest of the components are already soldered?
When you do some hotair or reflow, the other components will maybe fell off. (There are components from both sides)

Are boards without chips pre-tested?
All boards are being e-checked via flying probe testing before assembly.

Maybe there is an option you can send your chips in, to get them assembled to the boards. Lucko has to answer that.

You will need to Laser Solder them.
3300  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [SHIPPING] batch #20/21 .31 - .35 btc for USB miners & 10.25 blades - USA only on: August 16, 2013, 03:15:29 AM
Well.... Here's a good lesson...
A few group buys ago someone asked me why i did multiple runs to drop off shipments instead of one.  I said at that time that its too much risk to have 1000 miners in one vehicle...
We were able to get ~2500 miners out today and a ton of blades.
As soon as we dropped off today's FedEx packages, one of the Elf's car died in the FedEx parking lot so we sit and wait for rescue ATM... (I went with elves to show them how to handle FedEx)

So I'm glad we do multiple runs to drop of packages to be able to deal with issues like this...

Might as well provide a quick update:

-All shipments with provided labels have gone out.
-Local pickups are tomorrow.
-Batch #20 inventory is shipped and gone.
-DHL is delivering batch #21 tomorrow.  I was able to get customs cleared today.
We ship the rest out tomorrow:
Those who did not provide labels: 18 of you got your orders shipped out today.
Unfortunately i can't PM you tracking numbers till we get the car going which may be too late for tonight.
About 20 of you will get your shipments out tomorrow.
Eligius orders are ready to go, will be dropped off tomorrow.

Bought the elf a new battery... We're back in business...  Grin

Wish I was there riding shotgun!
