3281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where to go to troll? on: June 07, 2017, 02:15:47 PM
A guy made a slack channel, you can join him if you ask him for an invite on his thread.
Here's the thread in Bitcoin discussion:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1955046.0

I have no idea how active it is though...
3282  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex Trollbox Invitation on: June 07, 2017, 02:06:46 PM
Did they offer any reasons why they closed it?
I didn't really use it myself, but it was funny to read some conversations in there sometimes, usually absurd speculation that was often dead wrong...
3283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker group shuns Bitcoin on: June 07, 2017, 02:03:40 PM
someone once said all these political fights over power in bitcoin will lead to altcoins taking the lead. this statement was mostly used to pump shitcoins such as etehreum and ripple and lots of others.

but there is also some truth to it. although i am not yet convinced that LTC has any advantage on bitcoin but the activation of SegWit on it opened up a lot of ways for its improvement.

The idea always was BTC as a store of value.

no it never was. it is only an "idea" which is idiotically being advertised mostly in the past few months.
I wonder why so many exhcnages are adopting or have adopted Litecoin specifically instead of other, more popular altcoins?
You also see it with the large Chinese exchanges, they almost exclusively have Bitcoin and Litecoin listed.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Litecoin is pretty similar to Bitcoin and supporting it doesn't require that much work?
3284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a problem gambler? on: June 02, 2017, 11:16:03 PM
I'm not addicted, I purely gamble for fun, but I hope that this post reaches at least a couple of people who might click the link and get help for their problems.

It's definitely a good thing to have posts like this here from time to time.
3285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you feel when win in gambling? on: June 02, 2017, 08:05:42 PM
It's pretty easy to explain and I think it's similar for most people, you just feel a rush and very positive due to dopamine being released in your brain.

It's the same chemical (dopamine) that drug users/addicts get when they get their next fix or whatever they call it.
3286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I always lose all my tokens and btc on gambling~ on: June 02, 2017, 08:02:04 PM
I guess, gambling is not actually for me.
I kinda feel bad on all the tokens wasted on gambling but it's kinda my "when I'm bored" hobby.
Do you guys have any tips on how to not to lose all you tokens on gambling?
You mean that you when get bored then you start to gamble and in that gambling you lost all of your money and looking for a good solution? Then I have the solution for you. You have to gamble for getting fun and for getting fun you do not need to spend all of your money but you have a budget for your entertainment and have to gamble only with that money.
If he's gambling because he's bored then he's already doing it for fun, you know... When you're bored, you do something fun to stop being bored...

Seems like this guy cannot control his behavior, so I wouldn't suggest something that enables him to keep gambling.
In his case just quitting might be the only right option.
3287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used in space? on: June 02, 2017, 07:58:28 PM
Why would someone want to use bitcoin in space? They have a lot of other things to worry about rather than using bitcoin Tongue Don't see any use of bitcoin/fiat currency right now lol. And yeah, as long as you are able to get connected to the internet (the connection situated inside the the earth) you will be able to use bitcoins.
I think everyone can agree that it's still a bit too soon to imagine Bitcoin being used in space, but it's certainly a possibility in the not so near future.
Once we have established colonies on other planets or on new space stations, it won't be long before we see Bitcoin being used in space.
3288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Superstition on: June 02, 2017, 07:51:26 PM
I just wanna know if you guys are supertitious when playing or gambling? ...

Nope. So much so that I recognize what a stupid idea gambling is. But I think superstition rules in many markets. In fact it is how I make my money in markets. Look for blind trust, unfounded beliefs, etc. Then bet against them.
 Wink
Interesting way of looking at this, do you have some practical examples of when you do this? I'm guessing you're talking more about trading?
Looking for pumps of overhyped coins perhaps?

3289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage: have you ever tried and how much have you earned so far? on: June 02, 2017, 07:47:56 PM
I used to do this with an open source arbitrage client I had found and adjusted, I think it's still up for download on Github.
I basically stopped doing this when the prices became less volatile and I lost some money due to certain exchanges shutting down.

Look on Github for Bitcoin arbitrage bot, I think there are still some options there.
3290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fees!!! on: June 02, 2017, 04:03:13 PM
It's really good question. Nowdays some gambling websites have old fixed transaction fee which causes problem for withdrawing of serious amount of bitcoin. So to fix this situation, you have to withdraw small amounts or you can change your gambling website. There is no another chanse or maybe contacting with support and fixing situation with him/her will be another choise.
You should try crypto-games.net  Smiley They allow you to choose how much you want to pay as transaction fee. You can choose depending on your need. They also have the "free transaction" option, the the fee is very low so get prepared to wait for few days. Other sites should implement this feature too where we can choose how much we want to pay as few.
I almost exclusively use Crypto-Games because of that feature! And I'm not just saying that because I'm a part of their signature campaign.
It feels so good to get your payment in less than 10 minutes while on other sites you're waiting for days usually.

And they implemented that feature after some users asked about it in chat on their website, if that isn't good customer service, I don't know what is.
3291  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Gambling website hopeful doing research on: June 02, 2017, 03:58:39 PM
Thanks guys, is there any outsourcing website I can go to and find a proper programmer? I was thinking upwork.com or scouring around these forums but I would like a second opinion on this just to be sure.
I think you could find someone here on the forum, just make sure it's someone who's trusted.
Make a thread in the services section and just see who replies Wink

Another option would be to find some sort of turnkey solution, a Bitcoin gambling script and have a developer adjust that.

It might save you some time and money.
3292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did Satoshi Advertise Bitcoin ?? on: June 02, 2017, 03:46:28 PM
It was mostly through cryptography mailing lists and also some other online forums.
I've found one of his original posts on the p2pfoundation forum, you can check it out here:

3293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin Wallet Not Loading on: June 02, 2017, 03:35:22 PM
I'm not completely sure about this, but you should be able to find these files in the following path, if you're running Windows 10.
Quote
C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\bytecoin

Perhaps somewhere else in the appdata folder. And enable to see hidden files and folders.

You were probably looking at the folder in Program files Wink
3294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10th of June Digibyte in Minecraft? Will it blow? on: June 02, 2017, 03:31:48 PM
I don't know much about Digibyte, but I do play Minecraft from time to time. Is this being implemented with the support of Microsoft (Mojang)?
Or is this going to be implemented in the form of a mod?

If it's with the support of Microsoft, I could really see this getting big.
3295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: SURVEY on the popularity of these ways to gamble. on: June 02, 2017, 02:57:45 PM
I still believe that gambling is one of the major reason in the growing demand for bitcoin.

Completely agree with that and I always use this argument when people mention that few people use Bitcoin for e-commerce.

I picked slots and roulette, I enjoy playing that the most since they're both available on my favourite website.
Also, I find dice a bit too boring for my taste, but that's just my opinion.
3296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS TRAVELING PLACES!!! on: June 02, 2017, 02:50:47 PM
Newbie account with another one of these 'announcements', same topic as we've seen a million times on this forum.
Typed in all caps... Don't you have something better to do than spam the forum with these nonsense topics without any real substance?
3297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money? on: June 02, 2017, 02:07:25 PM
Each user have different perspective and some prefer it to be a investment as it grows higher and higher periodically. In my view bitcoin as a currency usage is very low, because of the volatile nature which gives two different price for the same product depending on the price variation.

Making it a currency means the merchant will also have to risk something.
That is why there are few who accepts it.
Only those who have good knowledge about bitcoin will kneow it and would gladly prefer it to be a payment option.
Some thinks of it as a commodity also just like gold, that way they understand bitcoin better.
Do you guys even have any idea how Bitcoin payments work? Usually the Bitcoins get exchanged into fiat immediately after the purchase.
So the argument that it's too volatile for the merchants doesn't even make any sense.

Any Bitcoin payment gateway gives you at least the option of receiving fiat instead of Bitcoins.
3298  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think ISIS uses Bitcoin? on: June 02, 2017, 02:01:23 PM
We all know that Bitcoin is also popular to criminals because they can use it without exposing their identity. It will be more convenient to them to use Bitcoin so that they can hide their identity. Do you think that terrorist groups like ISIS use it for their transactions?
They might be using bitcoin and again they might not be using bitcoins and have no clue what bitcoins are. But whats the difference? They are committing act of terrorism, just using a different form currency. They can still hide their identity using fiat currency, we all know that.
I think we can be certain that they know what Bitcoin is, they're also active on the darknet, they know about encryption and have a whole team dedicated towards the use of technology.

Whether they use Bitcoin or not probably depends on how useful it is for them in comparison to other systems. In the muslim world you have something called 'hawala' which is used to transfer funds, I've read some articles that terrorists also use this system.
3299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hotels accepting bitcoin on: June 02, 2017, 01:55:27 PM
I am wandering will Las Vegas' casinos take bitcoins for gambling to a person stay all his possible money there? Grin
Well, I am not surprised of such tendention. You can buy with bitcoins everything you want today, just to find the place. I have heard that in 2010 year you could buy a pizza with bitcoin somewhere in the USA, the price was 10 000 BTC per pizza Grin Can you imagine?
That's probably something that's next on the list, you can be pretty sure that traditional casino's are looking at Bitcoin gambling with great envy.
Bitcoin gambling is one aspect of Bitcoin e-commerce that's booming quite a bit.

I've seen some local casino's in my country even accept Bitcoin because of the huge demand for it.
3300  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to be a day trader? on: June 02, 2017, 01:47:43 PM
I've found that most Youtube video's on this subject either have incomplete or just factually incorrect information.
Investopedia is pretty good, but it's not really for everyone, I've found some better resources.
