When BTC first came out we were years away from the first pool. The guy is clearly trolling and has no idea about BTC history.
Exactly, he could have at least prepared better ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) There was no Bitcoin a 'decade ago'. There was no Bitcoin '5 or 6 years ago' either. AFAIR slush set up the first mining pool in December 2010 (2.5 years ago).

Yes, we physically met.
Anyway, I kind of screwed up now, even after she "dumped" me. I told her that I intended on buying her this tablet some of her friends own, now she is pissed at me saying I was trying to buy her. I guess a small part of me was indeed, but I tried to explain her that it's not what i had meant by telling her this. The worst of this is, I'll be seeing her often, as the routes she takes kind of make it so and now it will be super awkward because of this. I don't think it's customary to buy tablet for a girl you don't know too well and are not in a long-term relationship with. If you still want this to work out it will probably take time and she will have to see some improvements in you... but don't bother with her, Bitcoin is much more fun ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Good thing the world datacenters aren't ALL in the US, then...
Yeah, I know about that, but do you know in which country the server that hosts this forum is located? edit: seems to be NL but if the company is US-based that might not be enough So, what will they do? Arrest everyone? Like they did with Pirate and all the other american scammers? oh, wait... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Not now but who knows what they come up with in the future. You guys sure like to bend over to the US gubermint... Need vaseline?
No, I'm not that type of person and I'm glad that I don't live there and don't have to hear people worrying with any PhinSen crap etc.

Would be interesting to see how the good ol' IRS sees this non-owner and not an official nonprofit forum structure but now a bunch of mods admitted and claimed btc addresses receiving income to themselves.
to my knowledge none of the forum owners or hosting occurs in the US, so its probably exempt to the laws of the IRS https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/contact-usWhere are you located? We are located in the US. Yes, I know this is about the VPN they are offering but I wouldn't be surprised if they gave in under pressure for some content on this forum (e.g. the Securities or the Gambling section).

Why exactly would BFL give away $200,000? Am I missing something?
BFL is giving 1000 BTC because they missed their power targets by more than 10% Josh also offered 1000 BTC separately if they would miss their power targets, so he too has to pay.
|
|
|
It's funny how everyone forgot about the 2nd 1000 BTC by Josh/BFL...

I'm gonna miss my "Sr. Member" status. "Hero" sounds kinda dopey imo.
You can always keep deleting some of your old posts so that your post count stays <500 and you never acquire the Hero member status.

if you're going to do that, make sure your multimeter's margin of error is less than +-0.1 volts. Because anything more and you're just measuring noise. Also, if you're on a mult-rail PSU, make sure you measure each rail.
That's why I mentioned earlier to get a decent one. Good that you mention to measure each rail -- most PSUs with a high wattage are multi-rail, single rail are usually quite expensive.

5. do you really need a $650 camera? I mean, are you sure a lesser one isn't fine? Remember you risk it being stolen or lost... i.e. are you such a good photographer you think you have any real chances of selling your pictures? If the answer is no, then IMHO you should aim lower.
+1 It would also be wise to mention the exact products you want to purchase. Are you buying new or 2nd hand? If not, I recommend doing so because you can save more money. I see a few Canon EOS 350D with lens for $200-300 or a bit more for 450D, while they are not the top or the newest models they can make very decent photos if you learn how to use them.

If you want to ensure you have the correct voltage reading you can try measuring it with a multimeter. Take one of the molex connectors and the black wire of the multimeter should go to the black wire of a molex connector and the red one should go with a yellow one. Picture below is not mine but that's how it should look: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Foverclock.pl%2Fimages%2Farticles%2Fcontent%2Fmcdracullo%2Fartykuly%2Fmierzenie_napiec_w_zasilaczach_atx%2Fmie_02.jpg&t=663&c=rwGlLZv4ZMALLQ) Don't forget to measure the voltage both when the rig is idle as well as when it is under full load.

What kind of collateral can you provide that you could send to the lender to protect him from your default / being run over by a bus / running away without paying?

1. How did you measure the 12V? With a cheap multimeter (few $) or a better one? Or are you relying on the inbuilt sensors which are not always accurate because they are very cheap?
2. 11.58V is still within ATX 2.2 specification. THe PSU +12 VDC rail's voltage should be between 11.4 and 12.6 V (5% tolerance; it hasn't changed in 2.3 AFAIK).

I'm not entirely up to date with this. There are two Trezor versions: http://www.bitcointrezor.com/eshop/Trezor Classic with plastic case and Trezor Metallic with an aluminium case. The first one is for 1 BTC and the second one is sold for 3 BTC. Where does the $200 price difference come from? There will be two versions of the wallet available: 1) A shield for Raspberry Pi (for DIY hackers) 2) Custom hardware based solution (for common consumers)
Any plans for a shield for Raspberry Pi?
