3281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mandatory Bitcoin purchasing, to be performed by each state on: April 10, 2015, 12:36:39 AM
Rather than "forcing" anyone to do anything, we should just focus on making Bitcoin even bigger and better.  The better it works and the more people who adopt it, the more useful it becomes.  If it's a desirable commodity, there will be no need to mandate anything.  Before we know it, governments will want to store some of their wealth in it.  Assuming we don't do anything to screw it up, that is.
Thi is the correct and the only way we we - as bitcoin community can act. We can't impose anything on anyone but we can make bitcoin so good and desirable that government or basically everyone would like to have a share of this wealth. But I think we need to wait for this to happen a little more unfortunately..
3282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great New Greek Bitcoin Documentary on: April 10, 2015, 12:17:20 AM
So it is basically a documentary that tell us how awesome bitcoin is and how it will change our world in the way internet and email changed it. Great documentary to show people who are skeptical of bitcoin and don't believe it will succeed.
3283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if YOU could put 1 feature, change, whatever, into the Bitcoin protocol? on: April 09, 2015, 07:56:08 PM
I would change than bitcoin would be mined slightly faster. I doubt that delaying the time of mining final bitcoin to year 2140 will be good in the long run. Time is of the essence here and our technology is changing so rapidly that in next 20 years we could have totally new leading cryptocurrency because someone will invite new internet protocol or something...
3284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SARUTOBI Returns!! on: April 09, 2015, 07:06:15 PM
Creator of Sarutobi said that the tech giant had removed SaruTobi over concerns that users could mistake its in-game bitcoin with real bitcoin. Once again Apple thinks that all theirs customers are idiots and protects them for their own good... That is why I will never use any Apple product. I don't like being treated like a child who don't know what is going on.
3285  Other / Meta / Re: 'Recruiting' Participants? on: April 08, 2015, 12:06:47 PM
I think that is should be allowed with no restrictions really. If manager of certain campaign is pertinacious enough to invite some users to his campaign why not? As long as he is sending 1-2 messages and don't spam it is acceptable. And I am fine with this.
3286  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is it possible??? on: April 07, 2015, 01:31:28 AM
Is it possible to mining BTCitcoin without any capital/asset?
If you can "borrow" your mate's computer to mine altcoin and then trade it into bitcoin, then yes, it's possible.  Grin

Day's of mining with CPU and GPU are really over.  In most cases it cost's more in electricity.

You really need to look into asics.  But it will take cash, you can't do it with no assets.  You could also buy direct but again takes money

aren't the mining days over for most of the people at home. even if you buy asics then the question will be : how long will it take before i break even, if ever.

Well that depends on a lot of factors.. Price for electricity, using the miners for heating if you live in a cold climate. If you are a believer in that the BTC price will increase in the future.

for example here in europe it is impossible to do home mining as prices of everything are way too high. investing directly in btc seems a better option.
Lets just say that mining without proper equipment and hardware is impossible. Mining anything without investing money is unreal. And even if you have some spare cash to invest it is probably waste of time and money as we are the time and age of full specialized mining farms rather that individual miners so unless you have like $100k to spend for hardware and setup mining is out of the question.
3287  Other / Meta / Re: [Serious] Avatar Rules Discussion on: April 05, 2015, 04:48:54 PM
=snip=
naked people have nothing to do with bitcoin or bitcointalk.org, bosses don't like naked people.

Well we got some threads going on in the forum that contain NSFW content; specifically non-sexual nudity (thus non-pornographic). I was just implying when people state that Nudity=Porn they're wrong. Non-sexually explicit nudity is not porn.

In the case of avatars fine... No NSFW stuff; that I concur with.

Well, you may think like that but you can't make everybody think like you do. Different people see contents at different level and hence, what is not NSFW for you maybe NSFW for another person.

After all, you went away from basic: "Not suitable or safe for work".

That's right. The example you've been talking about (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=358121) is IMO completely safe. If the girl was naked, sure, but she isn't, and on top of that she isn't real, it's just a drawing. You can stumble upon much more exposed ladies when googling for important stuff at work, why aren't you worried about that. Also, if your boss is unhappy when he sees a drawing of a busty girl in a swimsuit there's something wrong with him, not the picture.

I may not care; but, a g/f of mine just saw the picture and told me it looks like a pedo's cartoon girl.  Huh Shocked Not sure if she maybe right, but i thinks it's something to reflect on.  Shocked
I've seen mouse pad with this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=358121 picture, kind of mouse pad where boobs of this anime girl were made of silicon jelly and you can rest your wrist on them. And people in that shop commented that it is funny idea, nobody said anything about it is being pedo or NSFL related. So I think you guys are being paranoid here and this avatar hunt is starting to resemble with hunts. Just stop that. We will see a clear limit of stupid avatar someday - this is not the one.
3288  Other / Meta / Re: suggestions to create a facebook page on: April 05, 2015, 04:33:43 PM
I don't think that facebook page is s good idea. I voted no, and I see that majority of people here have the same idea. We don't need facebook page at all. We can manage on our own here on bitcointalk just fine.
3289  Other / Off-topic / Re: [WTS] A guy's soul (he sold it to me for a protein bar) on: April 04, 2015, 09:01:05 PM
Awesomeness of this thread is over 9000. But anyway back to the topic: I always wanted something like that so I want to offer more that 1 million of SoulCoins for that item. Of course escrow is a must and I would like to use the services of DevilsCrow. If you accept my offer send your pigeon with a confirmation message that the deal is on.
3290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have Bitcoins helped to improve your life? on: April 04, 2015, 08:00:10 PM
It did, alot, I like being in control of my money.
And when you have your money in your pocket you are not in the control? I know that you probably are referring that money are government ensued property etc. But for now you don't have much control over bitcoin at all, one day bitcoin price is $300 and the next $200. I would not call that control.
3291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Skill Game with Bitcoin on: April 03, 2015, 10:09:00 PM
flappybird android
and investment games. that always turn to scams.
free games always have very low earnings
Have you heard about pay to play game with high earnings? Because I haven't. (Of course I am not talking about ponzi scheme based games here) There are not really many games (if any) where you can play and your chances of winning are determine by your skill skill (I am not talking about gambling in general; poker, any type of card games or standard casino games). If you want to earn bitcoin by playing games like CounterStrike or Starcraft I must disappoint you, you can't. Yet.
3292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Scammiest shitcoin of all time on: April 03, 2015, 07:29:17 PM
PayCoin was not scam coin in the first place, not entirely. Garza just tell everyone that PayCoin will be the best and the ultimate altcoin - and it will dethrone bitcoin. He lied about his agreements with Walmart and banks... Not to mention PayCoin was premined.
3293  Economy / Speculation / Re: When? on: April 03, 2015, 06:49:37 PM
Well no one knows... Bitcoin is still very much an asset whose price is based on speculation. Gox's downfall and the introduction of leveraged trading across exchanges pushed the price worse than ever before. If we manage to go above $310 now, I guess the bear market is over. But those are just my 2 Satoshi...
I think 310 is definitely going to happen in the summer, from now on then its a very slow uptrend with lots of people jumping off the boat in the meantime due scary factor.
It will be more likely to stay close to 210 that 310, I think that times of great pumps are gone. Bitcoin markets are stagnant and lack of groundbreaking news is killing anticipation of a price rise. Maybe it is time we should think about additional 'backing' method for bitcoin?
3294  Economy / Speculation / Re: WILL BITCOIN VALUE HOLD ABOVE $250? on: April 03, 2015, 06:31:23 PM
This is bitcoin. It won't hold and it will hold both at the same time. Crazy market.
This is our reality and our own fault, people are not belive in strong bitcoin and that is why we have constant price fluctuation. Bitcoin is backed by mathematical concepts and promises, I guess you can't go far with that.
3295  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the chance of Bitcoin being 1000 us dollars in the next year on: April 03, 2015, 06:15:16 PM
i was wondering what people think about the value of 1 bitcoin in the future

0,000001%
it is like asking if you think we will have nice weather in the next year or rather shitty. Nobody knows for sure. Economist are generally consistent in the claims that bitcoin have bright future ahead.
But seeing how is losing more than half its value last year. I wouldn't be so sure anymore... We will find a price barrier of bitcoin soon.
3296  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: April 03, 2015, 05:33:23 PM
Do you know what is probably the biggest obstacle in regards to mainstream adoption of bitcoin by the general public? it is conservatism towards money amongst a mass populace who do not appreciate the way 'the dollar in your pocket' has been successfully eroded by inflation, government debt and of course the massive madness of quantitative easing.
3297  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is an imaginary concept, but humanity is enslaved by it on: April 03, 2015, 05:21:44 PM
It is true that people need money. But at the same time they need food, water and social interactions. Do you think that they are also enslaved by it? Or we are just frustrated by bitcoin's rises and drops but not happy that Nixon took the US off the gold standard in the first place? Angry that central bankers continue to meddle with the macroeconomy?
3298  Economy / Economics / Re: 2014 Poll: How many bitcoins do you own? on: April 03, 2015, 05:12:10 PM
Looks like we can ignore just about anyone stating they own more than 1 million bitcoins. Perhaps the remaining numbers are more accurate in that the liars may tend to enjoy the opportunity to exaggerate.
Agreed.
Most people own 0-10 coins
Yes, it is what I noticed too. Bitcoin wealth is quite centralized unfortunately. Not as much as in real world but well, differences are still overwhelming. I am also just another poor idealistic bitcoin user with just dus in his wallet...
3299  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: April 03, 2015, 05:08:39 PM
It's virtually impossible to save in this economy, since the entire system discourages intelligent saving, and promotes braindead consumerism. All this shopping freak women in the mall or these braindead people who stomp on eachother when a new supermarket opens.

And of course all of this is done via credit cards which borrow money from the future generations to pay for the idiocracy of the current one.

========

Side issue aside, the only way to save is to not invest in the current economy (which will fall anyway soon), and invest in the new economy.

So: Gold, Bitcoin, Litecoin, other cryptos (though beware of non-fixed supply cryptos, and dollar pegged cryptos like Bitshare which are snake oil in my opinion), and perhaps farmland & ammunition.

Also inside bitcoin there are investments too. So if you invest like 30% of your portfolio in bitcoin, you can further invest into honest investment mechanism inside bitcoin with small risk like long term loans and such, which if the price of BTC goes up you win 2 times.

It's not impossible to save in this economy; although the average person is discouraged from doing so with low interest rates and the culture of consumerism like you mentioned, to constantly update or upgrade products.

I would say gold/silver and cryptocurrencies are good to hold as a safety net, in the event of a currency collapse/hyperinflation, but shouldn't be the only investment.  At the end of the day, the monetary expansion of currency flows through Wallstreet and the stock market.

A couple years ago I started buying physical precious metals and although I'm glad I own it, it's not my primary investment for returns.  If it was, it wouldn't be a good one.

I think fiat currency is a joke, but the majority of people don't think that, so the game keeps going.
Not really, FIAT money is not a joke at all. What makes it a joke is how fiat money is handled by governments, we are living in a corrupt economic system and we don't even know how it is to live different life.
That is why we need bitcoin to show people that we can change reality and made people's life easier, so they could actually save money instead of spending everything!
3300  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Auto Buy] btc-bets.com/shop/ | Microsoft Keys | Trusted Vendor on: April 02, 2015, 10:09:22 PM
I visited you automated page and I want to tell you that values of your products in bitcoin does not match their prices listed in dollars. Are you sure that bitcoin values are changing automatically? Or you need to retype values manually everyday? Because there are some huge disproportion there - especially with Steam Gift code. Or maybe I am just dumb and reading this wrong...
