How is that decentralized ? How fast can the fees be changed ? How can that work with the current (probably lasting) volatility of crypto markets ? Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to FUD here I really want to get my hands dirty and start coding a Lisk based DAPP but honestly a lot of things seem still pretty vague to me. Such as security of a DAPP for the end user and security of the DAPP code itself (tampering etc...) . I'm quite hesitant to invest my time and efforts into this. If you want a decentralized system, why do you think it should be lisks responsibility to verify the security of DAPPs which are created by other people. The world is full of shady characters, trust is formed by consensus of people not getting scammed. If you're hesitant, go away. Plenty of kick ass developers already chatting away in the lisk chatroom. |

Hi all, Was reading the whitepaper ( which by the way is pretty scarce and lacks a lot of technicalities ) and I came across this line : Under 4 . Core feature > 1 . Usernames .. The network fee for username registration is 100 LISK. Is this serious ? If according to this current thread, Lisk goes to the moon and reaches 1$ or above per Lisk who will afford to register their name beyond the ICO ppl? Even better : Under The network fee for adding a new contact or accepting an incoming request is 1 LISK. So basically if you're like me and have litterally hundreds of contacts here and there you're prettty much becoming a very poor guy by gaining followers or friends and adding them to you lisk account ... What's the point ? Oh yeah and then I came accross this :

0.1 LISK of amount sent for a spend transaction
5 LISK for registering a second passphrase
100 LISK for registering a username
100 LISK for registering as a delegate
1 LISK to add a contact
500 LISK to register a dapp
5 LISK per member for registering a multi-signature group.
How is this sustainable ? Seems VERY expensive to me. all fee are subject to change if needed. 100 lisk registration is for registering a Delegate. you can vote for up to 33 people at one time with the same 1 lisk and only vote 101 total per account so pick your contacts carefully. |

Today I spoke with Oliver, and I asked him about centralization! Parts of our dialog: Voting will come from everyone. Initially it will be concentrated within larger holders, but as time progresses and the distribution becomes more even, the voting should become more fair. We may even change the voting algorithm, depending on how things go. by the way, this topic(one person one delegates) needs up on the forum
I think the community will support it Yes I agree, in production on the mainnet when network security is vital, having one person/entity per delegate is the best situation, although very difficult to enforce. In this case we have to rely on competition for votes from the community. And now I decided that will vote for one person one delegate, What do you thin about it? I think most people agree 1 person should only host 1 delegate but stuff like that is going to be hard to enforce without participation from the community. I've already made the personal decision to only vote on 1 delegate by the same person if they choose to have more than 1 delegate. |

Is c-cex safe to use when Lisk launches? Anybody use it before?
Yes it is. I Just avoid to use it to buy their ICO. But for what concern trading and security there's no problem. Set 2fa anyway. Yeah, some shady characters in the troll box but I've never had issues getting bitcoin/altcoins in and out of ccex. I've had way more issues with other exchanges that are now defunct. I'm not saying trust them with your mortgage, but a small amount of lisk should not hurt early on. |

Hey someone pointed this thread out. Why dont you use BitHalo or BlackHalo for the escrow? Its 2 party double deposit escrow no need for an agent, no centralized server. To be honest it shocks me that these debates take place when unbreakable contracts are an option. If you pm me i can even give you source to build with. Its in python so easy to read and build. Deposits can be small if you guys are patient enough to microtrade. Example: deposit .5 btc each then trade .25 .25 .25 etc until target is reached. Safe escrow is not possible for Lisk right now. A seller could reset the keys after contacting support. He is not selling his ICO account. He is just closing a price. Once he get his lisk he Will send the lisk to the escrow. He explained few posts ago... Edit: No reason to call him scammer, thief or fucking retarded I never actually said he ever scammed anyone, rather that this could easily be just a scam. I never said he stole anything, just that I hate thieves. That last one I'm still on the fence about. |
