posting news on the forum is now considered plagiarism Lol but OK thanks

1. I don't see any 'real' news.

2. I don't see any reference to where you copy/pasted the sentences from. No source = Plagiarism, yes.

"Bitcoin does not 21.000.000 in existence and never will have."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin#Supply
=plagiarism ,where link on source is  Huh
Lol
you need to rename this forum to xrptalk(dot)org  Grin

From the wiki:
Quote
Eventually, the reward will decrease to zero, and the limit of 21 million bitcoins
and
Quote
In other words, bitcoin's inventor Nakamoto set a monetary policy based on artificial scarcity at bitcoin's inception that there would only ever be 21 million bitcoins in total

And my statement was that there will always be LESS than 21 million. So, how would you regard this as plagiarism?

Alright, i forgot one word in my post which makes the sentence somewhat weird to read. But that has nothing to do with plagiarism.

I don't understand the sense of your post, are you trying to make fun of me because i forgot one word or because it is 'plagiarism' ?
You do realize that i didn't use the same wording in my post and neither did i write the same information as stated on the wiki ?

Instead of letting your anger out here, forget about this forum. You have been caught copy/pasting low quality content and got banned.
If you would have read the rules of the forum, you'd have known that this is going to happen.

Ban evasion is not allowed, so just accept it and do something more useful with your lifetime than complaining about a ban you deserved.
3282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to choose a high secured wallet ?? on: November 25, 2018, 08:48:44 AM
The security of your wallet depends on the whole system architecture.

For example: A completely unencrypted desktop wallet on a linux system is way more secure than an encrypted wallet on a windows machine.

For high security, your goal should be to have the private keys in an offline environment.
Either by using a dedicated device only for storing the private keys, using a paper wallet or (the most convenient one) using a hardware wallet.

Paper wallets and airgapped storages are quite tricky to spend coins from. A hardware wallet can easily be plugged in into your computer (even if infected) without losing your coins.

However, if you don't want to buy a hardware wallet, but still want convenient storage, a desktop wallet can(!) also be secure. But this depends on the way you are using your system.
Since more than 97% of all malware is coded for windows, i would NOT regard a desktop wallet on windows as safe enough to store higher amounts of BTC on it.
On a linux system on the other side, it might be safe enough.

Also, one should never forget the most important thing: Common sense.

Having your wallet secured is good, yes. But it is worthless if you get tricked by a scammer to send him your BTC by yourself.

3284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: wallet securing !! on: November 24, 2018, 05:05:59 PM
is it enough to keep precautions that we do for internet banking or is there any other things we need to consider for securing wallet

If someone gains access to your internet banking, you can easily revert all the damage they did by calling your bank.

This is not the case with crypto currencies. So a higher level of security is definitely needed.

You should not store amounts you are not willing to lose on a machine which is connected to the internet (no web wallet, mobile wallet, desktop wallet).
For higher amounts use either a hardware wallet, paper wallet or an air-gapped storage on a dedicated device.

Also, don't forget one of the most important things: Common sense.
I believe more people lose their coins trough scams and shady 'investments' than trough malware.
3285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: blockchain wallet access problem on: November 24, 2018, 05:01:10 PM
I am not sure how blockchain.com handles changing email addreses, but shouldn't you receive a mail where a change of your active email is stated?
Did you already check the spam folder ?

However, there are several good reasons not to use an online wallet (e.g. way larger attack surface).

I'd suggest downloading a bip39 compatible lightweight wallet (e.g. electrum) and to import your seed into it.
You will be able to access your funds.

Also, it would be better in terms of security and privacy to switch over to electrum completely by creating a new electrum wallet and sending all of your funds over there.
This will allow you to always access your funds without relying on a 3rd party.
3286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Traumatic brain injury has left me with multiple seed phrases please help! on: November 24, 2018, 04:56:16 PM
So question # 1 - If I enter a mnemonic and it verifies by saying it is a correct mnemonic I click next and dont enter a password or if the wallet requires it I enter a new one.  If there is no tx history can I assume the wallet was not restored?  As in IF I did put a password on the  mnemonic when I made it , then dont use that password and / or use a new one will that make the wallet not show any tx?

If your wallet shows you that the mnemonic is valid, but doesn't show any transaction history, chances are relatively high that you had a 'password' (or better: a so-called 25th word) added to your seed.

This 25th word acts similar to a salt, giving your seed some additional 'security mechanism'.

So, if you added such an additional word to your seed, and are now restoring it without this word, you are effectively generating a different set of private-/public- keys.
This word is mandatory to generate the same private-/public- keys to access your funds.
3287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What determines Bitcoins decimal system? on: November 23, 2018, 04:05:19 PM
So Bitcoin has 21,000,000.00000000 in existence.

Bitcoin does not 21.000.000 in existence and never will have.
The actual maximum supply is below 21 million. And the amount of coins in circulation currently is at about 17.3 million (ignoring 'lost' coins).

The maximum supply is NOT hardcoded. It can be derived from the function which regulates the amount of freshly generated bitcoins by mining.

How does someone determine how many zeros are placed behind it? Could someone make an asset that has 1 coin but 1.910980182309824791827981240912094109249129837 in total token supply ?

The actual denomination is handled in the source code.

You can choose 'as many' decimal places as you want when creating/forking a coin.
3288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Teach me some basic logics of coin Want to integrate a new coin in my website on: November 23, 2018, 04:01:44 PM
1. how do I generate addresses, from windows qt wallet or from running a new daemon and check transaction through block explorer?

You need to check the available commands. Those might differ depending on what coin you are talking about.

For bitcoin, the command is getnewaddress. This freshly generated address has to be linked to the customer / the order of the customer in your database.

I would discourage from using a blockexplorer to check for transactions.
You can use walletnotify and blocknotify to get the status of your transactions.

However, this is for bitcoin core. This might differ quite heavily (depending on the coin / kind of fork you want to use).

2. also should I get new address for every transaction or can i do like exchange giving one address to each user and get all deposits to that one address if yes then how do I check only new transactions on that same address

It is recommended (for privacy reasons and easier checking) to generate a new address for each transaction.
However, using one address for one customer (i.e. for multiple transactions) is not a problem.

blocknotify and walletnotify can give you the information you need regarding transactions.
3289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Teach me some basic logics of coin Want to integrate a new coin in my website on: November 23, 2018, 01:17:37 PM
the coin is sha256

The coin is a hashing algorithm? Sounds interesting..  Roll Eyes

So, you want to integrate your coin into your website.. as a payment option ?

The general procedure would be that you run your full node and write a small program which:
  • creates deposit addresses
  • checks the received amount
  • triggers an event once the transaction has X confirmation

What else do you want to know regarding the 'logic' of this procedure ?
3290  Economy / Economics / Re: would you give your fingerprint or eye scan for a fair money supply? on: November 23, 2018, 01:12:53 PM
Honestly, i would never give away my biometric data (doesn't matter if fingerprint, eye scan or anything else) voluntarily.

Especially not via some online form just to receive a few bucks  Roll Eyes

Anyone in possession of such data has a lot potential for fraud. That's not worth a few bucks..
Any ICO / Coin distriution / whatever which requires this to 'make sure each person only participates once' screams scam for me..
3291  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: SegWit Paper Wallet page offline on: November 23, 2018, 11:43:55 AM
Instead of using a website or a github repo which you haven't verified to create a paper wallet, you migh as well use electrum to generate a seed.

Then simply write the seed and 1 or multiple addresses down (preferably with the private key) and delete electrum + wallet file again.

This way you'll have some kind of paper wallet, but with the convenience that you don't have to worry about change addresses when importing the address.
You can then simply import the seed into electrum and electrum will send your change to an address also generated from the seed.

This is not truly a paper wallet, but IMO there are no downsides compared to a classic paper wallet.
3292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next time people tell you bitcoin is banned in China, show him this pic. on: November 22, 2018, 03:36:27 PM
BCC and BCH are not same.

BCC = Bitconnect

BCH = Bitcoincash (Created from bitcoin as hard fork)

There are multiple abbreviations for bitcoin cash circulating: BCH, BCC, bcash, ...
All of them describe the same coin.

So, no. That's not about bitconnect.

@Iwillgotothemoon:

This also does not have to mean that the pictures are older than a year. BCC = BCH = bcash = btrash = Bitcoin Cash.
3293  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Plans of attack for bitcoin? on: November 22, 2018, 03:33:37 PM
None of your points really attacks bitcoin. And even less these are ways to 'hack' bitcoin.

What you are trying in point 1 and 2 is to attack math. That's something completely different. Senseless.
Point 3 and 4 don't make any sense either. You can't guess anything. That's not how it works. These are basically 'funny ideas' but not worth anything.

Also, people seem to believe that an AI is some kind of magic omniscient brain. That's not true. In the end, that's just IF-statements.
And quantum computer aren't magic machine either.
3294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Somebody maybe virus stoll my ETH :( on: November 22, 2018, 07:58:09 AM
Does anyone know how this "virus" works? I cant really imagine how it is possible to automatically transfer funds without specific compromised wallets/browsersites etc?

There are multiple ways.
But i'd think the most commons are:

  • Scan harddrive for private keys (e.g. in text files). If found -> create transaction
  • Scan harddrive for wallets. If not password protected or encrypted -> create transaction
  • If the wallet is password protected / encrypted -> wait for user to decrypt/open the wallet -> create transaction

These options apply to desktop (software-) wallets.

Online wallets (or wallets accessed via any browser interface, e.g. MEW) are way easier to steal funds from.

A virus would simply create an entry into the DNS cache. If a user tries to visit MEW, the virus is redirecting him to either (1) the attackers server or (2) a local hosted server on the targets machine. Once he enters his private key / seed --> Funds being stolen.

Those are (probably) the most easiest ways to steal user funds. I am sure that there are more tricky (but also more promising) way to steal funds.

How it EXACTLY happened in OP's case can't be said for sure without inspecting his computer.

@OP:
Did you scan your computer for malware ? I'd heavily suggest doing this.
3295  Economy / Exchanges / Re: About the coin exchanges, OKEx and Huobi, which is more reliable relatively? on: November 22, 2018, 07:47:47 AM
Both *should* be fine (at the time of writing).

But i'd choose huobi over okex. Okex is known to fake the majority of their volume and is said to heavily be involved into wash trading.

Security-wise probably both are same (shit). Doesn't matter which exchange you use, never store your coins there longer than necessary.
The risk of exchanges getting hacked and funds being stolen is relatively high (unfortunately).
3296  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is Ledger Nano S REALLY SAFE ?? Best Hardware Wallet ? on: November 22, 2018, 07:33:33 AM
Well, if the ledger nano s in combination with ledger live decides to work again, its fair. But so often it doesnt work, sync, or able to access your funds, its a unreliable piece of shit to me...

Ledger works perfectly fine with ledger live.

You might want to consider creating a new thread containing all relevant information.
There seems to be something going wrong with your setup.

Briefly explain what happens and WHERE exactly it fails, we might be able to help you there.
3297  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet - lost btc - money transfer which was not my own on: November 22, 2018, 07:29:32 AM
what you suggest me to do, to protect my account?

Basically: Don't store your coins (at least the majority which you can't afford to lose) on a device which is connected to the internet in any way.

The best combination of security and convenience is a hardware wallet. These store your coins in an isolated offline environment which can be accessed by infected computers without losing your coins since you have to verify each transaction on the hardware wallet itself.

If you don't want to spend ~70$+, your best bet for storing higher amounts would be either (1) an offline computer or (2) a paper wallet.
Both are very inconvenient to use, but offer very high security (even better than hardware wallets since you basically don't have 'any' attack surface).

It all depends on your personal needs.

If you don't want a hardware wallet and don't want to have the inconvenience of pure offline storage, i'd suggest you install linux on your machine (besides windows) and install a wallet there (e.g. electrum). Then only use this OS to access your wallet when needed.
Also protect this wallet with a password.

Most malware is written for windows, android and iOS. With anything else, you are 'pretty good to go'. At least for amounts less than a few thousand dollars.
Anything above, should be secured pretty consciously.
3298  Economy / Services / Re: Lost wallet.dat password help! on: November 22, 2018, 07:19:27 AM
Did you actually look at my question? Your answer doesnt make sense. I specifically said i dont want to use pywallet or bitcoin core to sync.

Did i mention you should sync core to send your funds to another wallet? No, i didn't.

Core only needs to be synced to show your current balance and to be able to send funds.

The approach i have suggested however does NOT need core to be synced:

[...] or simply download/install core and export the private keys.
Then import these private keys into a lightweight client (e.g. electrum).

Or, if you only want to check the balance: Import your wallet into core and look all the addresses up in a block explorer [...]

You NEED core to access your wallet.dat file. Simply because it has been created by core.
3299  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet - lost btc - money transfer which was not my own on: November 21, 2018, 11:55:39 AM
The most probable explanation is that your mobile is infected with malware.

It is not recommended to store more than 'pocket money' on your mobile phone.

A lot of vendors do skip security patches for android (even though showing that the latest patch is installed).
This creates a lot of vulnerabilities which makes it pretty easy for an attacker to infect your mobile.

Do you have any AV software running on your mobile ?

or if is some problem on servers or something

This doesn't look like any kind of server fault. Unfortunately your money is gone.

It is recommended to store higher amounts either offline or on a hardware wallet.

what kind language you expertise in?

I preferably code in Java and Python.

But coding language is basically just semantics, so anything should be fine if you prefer a specific language (except JS or anything else front-end-related).
