3302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My First Investments on: June 21, 2022, 01:09:25 PM
Welcome to the Forum Smiley.

I will only share my own experience and what I did from the start. I also have some money when I first started involving myself into crypto (around 3rd quarter of 2017) but as a newbie at that time, I chose to do some research, learned the basics of crypto especially Bitcoin, watched videos etc. etc. and while I'm learning, I already know which coins should I invest at that time but to be safe since it's my first time, I only invested into Bitcoin then expanded, saved some money and tried to invest into other coins.

$1000 is a huge amount (at least for me) but instead of investing into cryptocurrency first, at least gain some knowledge and make some research and learn at least the basics as well. It will help you decide which coins will you buy. Well, if you're really that eager to invest into cryptocurrency, then I suggest 40% into Bitcoin and 60% into Ethereum. This is a safer approach since these 2 coins are at the top 2 spot for a very long time already. If you want a riskier approach, then maybe try to buy those at the top 10 coins, but I suggest research first. This is my opinion only and I know other users here have different opinions.

Good Luck.
3303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 21, 2022, 07:57:14 AM
Their new coach Darvin Ham says in public that he can work with Westbrook, as to what stretch? we will know later. And I think they are going to retain LBJ, AD and Russ as the core and maybe chance the supporting cast all over again. They should learn from the Warriors organization as how to build a championship team, a dynasty. The only problem is that those stars are also aging, so maybe a couple of years to see if they can make another championship run.
LeBron and Russ will remain with the Lakers. AD? Maybe we might see him getting traded but with how fragile he is, I don't think that there will be any team who will risk it but who knows. As to Coach Ham, it will be his first season as a head coach of a team but he is an assistant coach with the Bucks and we don't know if he will be a perfect fit for the team. Let's not expect too much at first I guess. Maybe he will be like Coach Ime Udoka that he carried his team in the NBA Finals with his first season as a head coach or he will get fired and pick another coach again.

The problem with the Lakers last season is their management. They made some ridiculous trades and because of that, we've seen a roster of players who mostly aged 30 or more. Aside from the Coach which is already done, maybe they might need to change the whole management or if they don't do it then I just hope that they will make a good trades that will help them get a title again. Those aged players in the Lakers must be traded and get younger and more talented players. A good job for the Warriors organization and how they are built.
3304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins Crossed 20k USD!! Don’t lose hope now. on: June 21, 2022, 05:13:55 AM
So Bitcoins have started recovering as we can see from the charts.
Yesterday Bitcoins were at 17k USD and now currently it has crossed 20k USD. It’s now at around 20,800 USD and it’s still increasing.
Now the long-term support has been the new resistance and if it stays above that price for some time, we might see it going either higher or sideways. Well, it's the psychological support for others so many already set their target buying price at that point.

It’s not yet late to buy the Bitcoins, those have panicked and sold their Bitcoins, now it’s time again to buy it.
Don’t know whether it’s the end of the bear market or not, but still the price have given us the Bitcoin traders a great hope.
Nahh the bear market has just started and it takes months to possible a year before it will end. It's obvious that the recent recovery of Bitcoin doesn't mean that we are at the end of the bear market already. What I can say is that, buying Bitcoin right now will give you huge profits in the future. Feel sorry for those who panicked though because most of them sold their Bitcoins at a loss.

Hope soon Bitcoin recovers it’s price, and we all will end up with great profits.
What are your thoughts on this?
Thoughts?
Maybe lets wait a few days to weeks into what will be the price movement of Bitcoin because this might be a false breakout. Like I said, if it stays above $20,000 then it's a good thing at least but don't be too optimistic because we are still in a bear market so there is still a chance that it might go below $20,000.
3305  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your bitcoin ATL prediction before next halving on: June 21, 2022, 03:40:03 AM
You maybe can change your title. Remove the word "ATL" since the All-time low of Bitcoin is zero. Change it into "Your prediction of possible Bitcoin bottom before next halving" because that's better.

I voted for $10,000. My lowest support is the $12,000 because I believe that if Bitcoin will enter the bear market, there is a high change that it will repeat what happened in the past and in the 2017-2018 drop, it went down as low as ~80% and if you will compute right now when it reached the peak of almost $70,000, you will come up at near $12,000. On the other hand, Bitcoin never fails to surprise me TBH especially with it's price movements so maybe we might see it again at the $10,000 though the chances of it to happen is low to impossible.
3306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 21, 2022, 03:20:18 AM
^ Today’s rumor seems to be that the Nets aren’t happy with Kyrie and might not extend another contract offer to him. That’s already having people calling for him to join the Lakers. There just isn’t enough money to pay for Kyrie, Bradley Beal, Demar Derozan, along with LeBron, Anthony Davis, & Westbrook. I’m not sure if they’ll be able to make any moves at all. Lots of smoke, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they run it back with the same squad next year just because they can’t make any moves. We’ll see. Lots of rumors…
Lakers building a super team aren't they? Cheesy Signing the players they want to sign even it is beyond their salary cap. Westbrook and Lebron alone covers a huge portion of their salary cap. With how Westbrook played last season, I don't think that any team/s would be interested in getting him and lets take note how much they will be paying him so most likely, he will stay with the Lakers alongside Lebron and Davis. With their new coach (Darvin Ham), maybe we might see a new Lakers next season (me just being optimistic).

On the other hand, who will be happy with how Kyrie played last season. The drama he made with his team (Nets) is just enough for the management to not sign him. If he only got vaccinated and played the whole season, it might be a different situation for the Nets team. Still, it's only a few days since the NBA Finals ended and these are only rumors. Let's wait for official news from credible sources Smiley.

3309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $17.5K the low? on: June 20, 2022, 07:46:58 AM
I'd personally prefer that we'd get far worse sort of "market cleansing" from here. Still so much useless fluff in the broader cryptocurrency space that I want those projects to just die out first.
But if we should face reality, this does not stop new projects to be created, there are almost 10000 cryptocurrencies that are presently existing, new coins are created almost daily or weekly. What I just see is that altcoins have no utility and they are centralized, centralized coins are all not worthy to be coins, but people can not change. I always say this too, altcoins are totally gambling.

Bear market isn't enough to stop for new projects to be created but at least investors will already know that new projects and altcoins can be created but they can't sustain themselves. Investors will know that some new projects out there can't last long and this is also the reason why I'm not investing into new projects anymore. It's very risky for me knowing that the chances of these projects to die or to be abandoned is very high.

Most of the new altcoins that are being created is just because of the hype or they are just following the trend and some of them don't have any use case at all like you said. They don't have their own brand at all which kinda frustrates me a bit but it is what it is.

As for the OP, I still believe that we might reach the $12k price Cheesy. I just based it on the 2018-2018 crash. With what is happening right now, I still don't see any catalysts that might affect the price movement of Bitcoin or at least there are no reasons for it to make a trend reversal at all.
3310  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Incoming BSP Governor's take on cryptocurrencies on: June 20, 2022, 07:19:38 AM
Meron ba nagbabayad ng bills o purchases gamit BTC directly? Ako kasi convert to fiat muna tapos fiat pambayad.
Kahit kami rito ay nagcoconvert muna kami from BTC into PHP na siyang ginagamit namin pambayad.

Sa totoo lang, maraming mga tao ang involve sa cryptocurrency pero ang stance ng government ay neutral. Hindi sila against or pro sa cryptocurrency at ang ginagawa na lang nila ay magbigay ng paalala.

This is a new tool that adds to the ability to do that. There are plenty of people who want to hide their money from the government,

3311  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not panic. Everything will get better on: June 20, 2022, 06:42:21 AM
If you have been into cryptocurrency as early as 2017 then you've already experienced this and I believe you know what to do already.
I also believe that most of the investors who are panicking right now are the newbie ones who doesn't have enough experience of a cycle. They are the ones who just invested when the market is rising and they didn't experience the time when the market is going down like what is happening right now.

Let the newbies learn from what they are seeing right now and I hope that they will not do the same mistake when the next cycle comes. After this bear market, a bull market will happen and it goes on, and on, and on. For the newbies out there, make a strategy that will help you gain profits. Do dollar cost average if you can. To others, I think you know what to do already if you have experience the same thing last 2017.

Patient investors and those who are buying on a bear market are the ones who will gain the most profits.
3312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 20, 2022, 04:04:27 AM
Kuminga is good but he does not play the Center position, they need a center who can defend the paint and we saw that even Looney is not enough to defend the bigs of their opponent. They need someone that is healthy and who can play defense consistently, I think that's their focus for the next season to come.
They have Wiseman already and he is enough to fill that Center position. 2nd big? Looney will be their next choice of with how Looney played this past season, it might interchange. Looney as their primary center while Wiseman is their 2nd choice.

In the end, the Warriors spent many seasons playing small ball already so having a Center isn't a problem for them. Kuminga is athletic and tall as well and I believe that he can still play the Center position but not as efficient as other bigs out there. After all, the Warriors are known for their small ball. Quicker rotation and more shooters as well.

I thought that the conversation with the Warriors and Celtics is over already because the season is over.
Anybody here observing the moves and trades of different teams this off-season?

The Mavericks already did a big trade and a win trade for them as they got Christian Wood in exchange for some bench players and draft picks. Luka now has a pick and roll buddy though he lost a real life buddy in Boban which is kinda sad ;(.

3314  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese man gambled away a huge Covid-19 relief funds mistakenly sent to him on: June 18, 2022, 04:31:24 PM
just as the title states, a man in Japan mistakenly sent 46.3m yen to his bank account which was supposed to be shared among 436 people in their town. the article says that the man gambled away the money by withdrawing 600k yen daily for two weeks and gambles it in online casinos and when the authority finally contacted him the money has already been gambled and gone. initially the man refuse to pay back the money that was mistakenly sent to him but after some time he decided to pay it back bit by bit. the town is also suing him for this incident.

you can read the full story here
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-61490436

now, I have a question, do you think the man is entirely at fault or someone should also be responsible?
Considering that its still not his own, and he knew it clearly from the start, so he should have acted responsible enough to return it to the sender. But instead, he used it to gamble and lose everything. That's when he started to commit a very big fault. Good thing he finally realized to repay it little by little. However, the sender should also be given sanction for his negligence. Its certainly a very huge amount so he should have been very careful with his transaction.
Let's assume that the COVID Funds came from the government since most of the time, that huge amount mostly came to the government. I think the supervisor of that sender/s must remove them because of how irresponsible they are.

That huge amount of money will help many people who are having a hard time in this pandemic, but a single person took the advantage and gambled the money he doesn't own at first place. This is what greed can do. You will do things that you shouldn't have just because you are greedy. Well, it's a good thing that the gambler is paying it, but hope this will be a lesson to him and I hope this will not happen again to anybody.
3315  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 18, 2022, 01:47:04 PM
There's a rumor that Andrew Wiggins might be potential trade due to increasing salary wage of Warriors. They need to trade someone to resolve this and Wiggins has the high chance rate to be trade since Warriors will not gonna let go there Big 3. I don't know if this will commence but I believe this possible since Warriors has really have a high salary cap right now and this is not healthy to there franchise.

For me, that's stupidity.

My apologies for my word but for me, why would they trade a player that is a perfect fit for the team? Wiggins played a big role this whole playoffs and in regard to their increasing salary, they will just do something but not trade Wiggins. For me, this will not happen, and they will let Wiggins stay with the team.  Even Coach Kerr was surprised on the rebounding ability of Wiggins in the Finals because he didn't expect it from him and they need a player who is athletic and can rebound because their roster is kinda small compare to other teams.

Well, if this happens then there is nothing we can do but the chances of it to happen is low to zero for me.
3316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is dead! on: June 18, 2022, 01:22:26 PM
This is the reason why I don't read articles from popular news sites like CNBC or even Cointelegraph etc. or maybe I should say that I'm not a reader of articles online at all Cheesy. I knew that somebody will tell that quote again now that we are in a bear market, but I wonder why nobody said that phrase last 2020 when the COVID has announced as a pandemic.

Many will try to tell negative things about Bitcoin while me, I'm just chilling here on the back while accumulating more Bitcoins Cheesy. I'll be more patient this time and will not miss the opportunity like what happened in 2020. Newbies and investors who are panicking can just sell their Bitcoins at a loss because there will be intelligent investors who will still buy Bitcoins. Intelligent investors are buying Bitcoins at the bottom and newbie investors are buying at the peak.
3317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Bitcoin Disappointed You ? on: June 18, 2022, 01:04:32 PM
Disappointed? Not in my vocabulary Tongue.

I mean, why you will be disappointed with Bitcoin? Is it because it went down from as high as $69,000 to now around $19,000 in just a matter of months? Is it because you bought at it's peak, or is it because you are at a loss now? What disappoints me more is the people who are saying negative things about Bitcoin just because they are at a loss right now. I'm more disappointed with the people who are saying "Bitcoin is over" or "Bitcoin is dead" etc.

To those pessimists out there, just continue to tell negative things to Bitcoin, since you can only say whenever Bitcoin is at its lowest. History repeats itself and after the dark days, a bright light will come and all the people (including me) who are constantly accumulating Bitcoin when it is down are the ones who will gain the most profit Smiley.
3318  Economy / Speculation / Re: What goes up must come down on: June 18, 2022, 07:30:20 AM
I have been saying for months that Bitcoin will most likely drop back down to the 20k range. Just look at the chart from 2018!
Well, it is the long term psychological support that's why when the bull run ends, it can be a strong support, and it is happening right now.

The drop of the peak to it's lowest drop in 2017-2018 was ~85% and if you will do it this time with the same percentage, it will go to $12,000 so for me if the psychological support $20,000 will be broke, I think we will see Bitcoin going as low as $12,000 because when the $20,000 support will break a huge selloff continues. Just a prediction.

In before sub $20k.
I hope everybody is ready for what is happening right now. I'm not as ready as what others are, but I'm not panicking at all and instead of panicking, I'm slowly accumulating more for the future.
3319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 18, 2022, 07:17:23 AM
Honestly Warriors turned a team of g-league players back into their championship team, that is the important thing that we are all forgetting. At some point all the three big names were out, and some other players were out as well.

So for a whole season, we have seen Warriors with g-league players for real, they were at the bottom of the league that year, no joke. From being a team that won it 3 times in 5 years, to a team that was at the bottom of the league due to injuries. Then they got better, healthy, Klay got back only this year after like half of the season was done, and then they won it again after such a big fall and coming back. It is really a great job.
That is why the Warriors are a good management as a whole. They aren't getting players just to have somebody to play to the team, but they are developing them for the future of the team and the league as well.

The best example is McGee. We know how awful he is playing when he is still in Washington and in Denver, but look how he is after staying with the Warriors for years. Now he got traded to the Suns, and it's a win-win for the team and McGee because McGee now has a higher value. Looking at the roster of Warriors, we see that they have some G-league players like Payton, Poole, JTA and got 2 rookies in Kuminga and Moody.

The Warriors management are getting ready for their future with their players. Steph, Klay and Green can still play at least 3 years together maybe but after that, they will not be the ones who are carrying the team anymore but these younger and talented players. This is why I'm a big fan of the Warriors and will be even though Steph will not play anymore.
3320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 17, 2022, 12:23:42 PM
I'm really sad about Celtics to lose the sixth game and the title at the same.  Cry   I was favouring them in the final series to reach the championship after a break like 15 years. I didn't see a very solid team effort in this game from them and this was the thing that I was angry with the most. Warriors had so many spaces and punished them for that. I saw Horford and Brown making a really good effort for Celtics here. In the last moments of the third quarter, Horford was really great and fired up the team. Brown was also continuing to bank in really hard shots. But it was really hard to stop Curry and his friends.

Congrats to Warriors and their fans! I respect their effort so far a lot.  Smiley
The Warriors know what they will do in every kind of situation already because they've been in the NBA Finals for a very long time already. Compare it to the Celtics who has a roster that has no experience in NBA Finals whatsoever and their coach just came this year.

At the start of the season, many doubted the Warriors that they will win the championship. Many said that their dynasty is over already. Now they proved them wrong and got a 4th title. As for the Celtics, the 2 reasons why they lost in the NBA Finals is their turnovers which they got 22 and they are inexperienced as a whole team even the coach.

As for the Celtics, kudos to the whole team. Many also said at the start of the season that either Brown and Tatum must be separated and traded because they are at the bottom at the first half of the season. They proved them wrong, and now they clinched the NBA Finals. Let's give credits to Coach Udoka as well because he is just a first year coach, and he already got a big achievement which is to lead his team to the NBA Finals. Watch out for the Celtics next season because they will do what they did this season.

As for the Warriors and as a fan of them for a long time, I congratulate them for a job well done Cheesy. It's my first time to put a bet on them all throughout the playoffs and I didn't lose on it. Congrats to Steph for his fist Finals MVP, but still congratulations to the whole team because it's their effort that lead them to the 4th title.
