3301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would anyone use a payment network based on an imaginary currency? on: May 16, 2017, 04:27:05 PM
I know cryptocurrencies are a real thing but can this really be implemented into our lives?

Imaginary in what sense? They are backed up with a network of computers all having access to all the transactions.

If anything is imaginary, it's the value of regular paper money. It's basically people in power telling you it's worth X amount and you don't even know how much of it exists while cryptos are generally transparent and decentralized.

i think he mean something like this, pretty simple, i imagines to have x amount of coin and i give you this x amount for your y amount of coin, you then give me that y amount for x amount and we do a trade, we write this on paper of course, and we give them a value, other people do the same and we create an immaginary netowrk for our immaginary altcoin, but this can't work because someone could simply imagines to have an amount that does not belong to him, it's too damn easy to cheat and change the rule
3302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar distributing up to 16 billion lumens to bitcoin holders on: May 16, 2017, 04:24:35 PM
I'm confused on this topic, the price increasing even though they're distirbuting more lumens. How does this happen guys?

the distribution did not happen yet, it will take place on july 27 read above, the distribution cna only happen if you connect many bitcoin to your stellar address, but you will give up your privacy, for example for every 10 bitcoin linked to your stellar address you get 10k stellar, not many people have so many bitcoin to get enough stellar
3303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reputable altcoin wallets on: May 16, 2017, 04:22:11 PM
coinomi is a good multiwalelt for mobile only it seems, i remember another one that i posted not long time ago, but i can't find it at the moment sorry, anyway if you check with google you can find other secure multiwallet that have many altcoin supported
3304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be used in space? on: May 16, 2017, 04:18:04 PM
While there can access the internet, I think it can. Well, bitcoin connected with internet connection, so when he connect to the internet, even though he is in space, I am sure he can still mine, or find if he wants it

it's possible to have access to internet with another planet, very easy to do just use satellite communication, do it via google satellite, if you can establish a connection indeed you can run bitcoin, no matter where you are, i think bitcoin can see i great use for this distant future in space
3305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead / Dying Coins you want revived on: May 16, 2017, 10:46:26 AM
there are a bunch of coins that i want to revive, one is hypercoin, but i would add pow phase this time and leave the experience you cna have with game like csgo and other as a side way to earn this coin, another one is minerals, because i like the concept of limiting the node to avoid big farm raping the hashrate
3306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I think lbry is a good investment on: May 16, 2017, 10:42:28 AM
i like lbry is a good coin it's good for nvidia mining, but unlike other coins there is a very big supply which is not mentioned in coinmarketcap and the dev is holding a very big premine, i'm worry that they will dump later when the price will be very high and everyone thing the coin is a success, there are some case like that, just see veltor, huge pump than an ass hole dumped 25k out of no where lol

well premines are usually not mentioned in marketcaps, thats why it's called "AVAILABLE supply"  Cheesy
the premine is not "available" hence dosent count, like everycoin on there...

also, IF they were gonna dump a coin would they not have around 0.002 last year? 0.00008 now Cheesy
seems like the "test of honor" has passed on that one haha

Ya it's interesting how profitable it's been for nvidia, wow! Smiley

in fact they dumped at 0.002 and we have now this shitty vlaue of 8k satoshi, they will wait again to have 200k satoshi before dumpping, i agree that coinmarketcap show the available but if the premined is bigger than the circulation supply we will ever have you have a problem there
3307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why i prefer POW over POS on: May 16, 2017, 10:40:40 AM
i agree with all you said, and in fact there is a reason why all the pos shit coin die quickly or eventually die withoutbuy supporter, because there is no reason to buy when you have coins for free, instead with pow buyers are incentivate to buy because maybe they can't invest in mining, and they have no other way to acquire the coins, POW is always the way to go for me, and every coin that have no pow is a died coin
3308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Journey inside a BAIKAL miner on: May 16, 2017, 10:38:11 AM
I really don't think the guys from BAIKAL program the boards or the chips by themselves.
They buy them already made with certain specs or preconfigured or something like that.

obviously they are paying much cheaper than what they are selling for, they are probably just assembling everything like heatsink the board and the fan they don't make those themselves, maybe they buy the board from bitmain? which are notorious for their work in these sectors

3310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is cheapest Altcoin? on: May 15, 2017, 04:24:00 PM
which Altcoin is cheapest of all and still not dead.
And which is most expensive Altcoin?

machinecoin and burst are very cheap altcoin, take a look at everything below 1000 satoshi, those are all very cheap altcoin, the most expensive are the one in the top 10 marketcap, and they are the most stable altcoin, cheap altcoin are good for quick huge profit, they are suited very well for pump and dump
3311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Video Game Altcoin General on: May 15, 2017, 04:22:11 PM
What do you guys think of any or all of these coins? Are there others out there which I'm missing out on?

you missed hyper which was a project that let you win bitcoin by playing many video game like cs go and other famous fps, now i think it's recovering because last time i've checked it was dying, the dev abandoned the project sadly, and in general i think these coins have not good support, seems that gaming and crypto can't do well together, but i like to earn bitcoin while playing, maybe we need a better project for this, with bitcoin payment integrated directly in the game itself?
3312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: do you think litecoin will recover ? on: May 15, 2017, 04:18:14 PM
i anticipated litecoin to be in the high 30's but its looks like its headed for the low 20's , do u think it will recover ?

investors are finally taking profit now, all coins are dumped, wait for the next pump for recover, it will happen i'm sure, but before a pump always come a price correction

The LTC developers seem to keep information closely held and don't seem to talk about their projects as much as the developers of other coins.  Or that may just be my perception.

To be honest, I took that as being evidence that there was very little Litecoin development going on.

Happy to have been proven wrong given recent developments.

Totally agree, only segwit rumours are shaping the price of litecoin currently.

i think not only that but bitmain is pumping litecoin, to make it profitable for their L3 miners and sell more of those
3313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: May 15, 2017, 03:40:05 PM
i did the math on this with the recent price pump, and it's very short, if you account an hhd that cost $240 like the seagate of 8TB and give you 6k burst per month at the current value of 800 satoshi per burst, you have almost 0.05 btc in one month, which are $80 or so, this is a 3 month roi, electricity is not something that matter here so i excluded from my math, to me it look pretty good, what do you think?
Do you think calculating ROI with the pumped prices is a good idea? Cheesy I'd say something like 12-18 months is a lot more reasonable ROI prediction with Burst.

yes if you are not stupid to sell after the dump lol, i would not sell now i would hold until i can sell it at the value that give me the roi i was speaking about, and what about another pump? that would mean shorter roi
3314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help about making a preview of profit on: May 15, 2017, 12:38:56 PM

if the profit say $30 you earn $30 per day, what is your electricity? you need to put your electricity, the profit tab is based on your electricity, and yes you mine only one coin at time unless you do dual mining

Yes, I added the electricity, which is 0.2$ and profit is $12.34/day (while rev.$ is 16.22) with 6 RX 480
With 6 RX 470 profit decrease to 11.12$/day. The price of the 470 and 480 is quite similar in Italy, so I think is better to go with the 480, even if the power consumption is higher (but the 1$ different in profit is really small to "save" on the GPUs).

Doing the math with the GTX 1070, doesn't provide a substantial increase in earning (12.97$/day) and the cards are way more expensive (and I saw that results are not as consistent as the RX), so I wouldn't consider the GTX.

May I ask you if your profit are quite the same as the one I've found or are different?
Do you also have any advice or suggestion?

Thanks

gtx 1070 are good on lbry and zcash not etheruem, you need to do the math again for that gpu, i've nvidia now and they profitable with equihash algo, with amd you need dual mining ETH + SIA for example, search for clymore dual mining
3315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help about making a preview of profit on: May 15, 2017, 11:33:10 AM

you can mine other coin but for mad ethereum is the best or other dagger also are good, the profit is your return without electricity cost, the REV tab is with electricity cost, so you need to see the profit tab for your return

thank you!
Now things are clear!
So for ETH I have a profit of 12.29$/day, or 369$/month. Which is really great, also because maybe the currency raise.
What is not clear is what the last tab means: is that the chance for me to earn what the "profit tab" says?

I take advantage of your courtesy to ask another question: When I mine, will I mine only the coin I choose or the system decides what coin is best to mine in that particular moment (so, for example, in the same day I mine ETH and ETC)?

if the profit say $30 you earn $30 per day, what is your electricity? you need to put your electricity, the profit tab is based on your electricity, and yes you mine only one coin at time unless you do dual mining
3316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why do companies like Bitmain sell AISC machines to the public? Doesn't that... on: May 15, 2017, 10:19:41 AM
liek they said selling their miner is always profitable than mining with them, in fact their miners are overpriced, but i think they first mine with them a bit for one or two months, then when the diff is high enough they sell, and this si the best strategy to do, if you mien forever with your gear you lose only good profit in the long run
3317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help about making a preview of profit on: May 15, 2017, 10:17:29 AM
Everything is based on 1 ETH, right?
And my profit is the first result or the second, in the "Rev. $ Profit" column?
I also don't understand how the last column works: is a % on what?

Sorry for the noob questions, but I just don't want to be fooled by my own mistake!

Thank you

you can mine other coin but for amd ethereum is the best or other dagger also are good, the profit is your return without electricity cost, the REV tab is with electricity cost, so you need to see the profit tab for your return

3319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SERIOUSLY.......A bitcoin killer? on: May 15, 2017, 10:14:02 AM
No ICO, NO POW, NO PREMINE, NO POS.
Unlike any other blockchain. Uses static signed nodes and a CHORDS system to check consensus. Now this system solves any scalability issues, the 51% attack problem of POS, is more secure than any other blockchain as unlike others instead of chasing a random untested node checks across a selection of signed, trusted and static nodes using CHORDS. Its is also far more efficient that anything that has gone before. Also assuming the developer isn't lying they actually worked with Peter Szor a giant in the internet security industry who died a few years back.

Probably this is the easiest way to explain how CHORDS will work in theory.

*The project is only a few weeks old as they go live at 50k block, the community is exploding on slack mainly from only YOBIT (unfortunately) users hearing about it. The community is young and the logos etc are all shit......just accept it.

https://young-basin-20186.herokuapp.com
*You only have 24 hours to register a node, after that period you won't be able to register one of these special elite nodes (thats why I thought it was fair to tell others in the wider community so no one can say they didn't have a chance)

no pow can't be a bitcoin killer any no pow is not a good coin, it's bad for distribution, early adopters will always get the majority of the coin and dump later, with pow you ensure better distribution, because big hash can't mine small coins and thus you have more room to distributo to small miners
3320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is ETC a good coin to invest in ? on: May 15, 2017, 10:11:58 AM
i think yes, once the ETH original fork will go pure pos, investors will start pump the other alternative dagger and ETC is the strongest one among these coins, it's a good opportunity now to invest a small capital into this coin
