3321  Economy / Economics / Re: I think most people still trust the USD more than Bitcoin on: December 10, 2021, 05:26:33 PM
Trust issues are real, and trust as we all know is not an easy thing to gain, especially in something or someone new. USD and fiat in general has been in existence for a longer time, people have had major experiences with usage of USD and fiat, so it is no surprise that their trust may be anchored there still. Give bitcoin some more time and definitely more persons will develop trust in the system as well.
3322  Economy / Economics / Re: The CIA Is Deep Into Cryptocurrency, Director Reveals on: December 10, 2021, 05:06:22 PM
If you've seen a lot of spy and secret agent movies, you can see that there is a hint of high tech savviness and sophistication on levels higher than civilian standard that these secret government agencies operate on. Crypto and the Blockchain technology is the future , the CIA must know this, hence I am not surprised at this news of their involvement. IMHO, i think the major concern for most government and why they preach regulations and sometimes ban citizens involvement is because they have identified and recognised the power cryptocurrency provides to every user and are perturbed by it.
3323  Economy / Economics / Re: US Real Estate Enters A Bubble For The First Time Since 2007: US Federal Reserve on: December 10, 2021, 04:54:01 AM
If it were possible to devise metrics for identifying potential bubbles in crypto, what would they look like?

A metrics for identifying potential bubble in crypto? wow, that will be an invaluable resource to the crypto community. I imagine the possibility, and it will mean that almost everyone who is crypto involved will profit massively from adhering to the metrics. More individuals will be attracted to the crypto space and there is also the possibility to drastically reduce poverty. A metric system if possible will definitely be a breakthrough.
3324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukrainian oligarch is mining Bitcoin on: December 10, 2021, 03:55:59 AM

I personally don't think that this has any implications for Bitcoin, in Ukraine or globally, it's just curious to see how these boomer oligarchs are surprisingly savvy enough to recognize an opportunity for profit and quickly set up a large scale mining farm.
This is a perfect representation of someone or people in power who are smart money making individuals, taking full advantage of both the free and friendly crypto environment in Ukraine, buying hardwares and getting good electricity to power his or their operations at good cost. I sincerely doubt that Ukraine will remain without crypto regulations forever, we may begin to see new crypto regulations in the country soon, maybe in the coming year especially since reports of activities like this are now surfacing.

3327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can we talk about airdrops? on: December 08, 2021, 01:35:44 AM
A close friend of mine won in an airdrop then when "airdrops" were not so everywhere like they are now, that was how i first heard about airdrops. I have never tried it, but right now, it is everywhere and there are too many airdrop hunters and fake airdrops. you may be lucky, if you try out some airdrops, who knows? but don't get your hopes too high.
3328  Other / Beginners & Help / Will there be no more topics to write about? on: December 08, 2021, 01:27:24 AM
Judging from the fact that this forum has been in existence for a while now and will be for say the next decade, and also that there has been over a 1000 insightful topics and counting from the mass of creative writers here always creating topics on certain subjects say - "Bitcoin discussion", "trading" etc

Is the possibility of all reasonable possible topics on a subject being exhausted getting realer by the day?

Are we going to be seeing more shitty post soon?

I will start considering this application only when it reaches the minimum of 230 merit, but for now let it stay here.

Working towards it sir, thank you.
3330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 07, 2021, 08:01:54 AM
Arsenal ruined my night yesterday, While we were leading, i already complained that the one goal lead was not convincing enough to win against Everton regardless of their poor form. When a team performs poorly, the coach definitely is to blame, especially for giving away an opportunity for us to claim all three points. I will be singing "Arteta out" soon.

3333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 06, 2021, 09:06:07 PM
The number of chances created by Arsenal in the first 45 is not encouraging at all, from the very poor form Everton is in at the moment, i actually expect to see a lot more goals than just one. I think the ball needs to get more to lacazette I really thank Odegaard though for removing shame from my eyes lol. In between i wonder why that tackle to Tomiyasu by Everton's Godfrey wasn't a red?
3334  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NEW VIRUS COVID - DELTA OMICRON | MEDIA CONTROL on: December 06, 2021, 03:58:55 PM
It could just be a mere coincidence, just as the letter's of the word can be rearranged to give various outcomes, "media control" is just one of the possible outcomes. WHO however explains here  that for the purpose of aid to the non scientific community and to discourage naming viruses after their place of origin to prevent stigmatisation, it will name all variants of the Covid virus after greek letters, and Omicron just like delta is one of those greek letters.
3335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 06, 2021, 12:10:38 PM
Arsenal must take the opportunity, Everton is under pressure from the supporters. 3 lost in a row is a very bad performance from management with followed Everton football director resign yesterday,
Home advantage for Everton today will also mean home pressure as they are currently in 16th position , hopefully we (Arsenal) can get all three points from this game and get back in top 5. i will be happy to see AUBA starting from the bench today especially after a terrible performance last week.  My prediction is for my team arsenal to win by 1-2.
3336  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why exactly is it that people don't like identifying yourselves (KYC)? on: December 06, 2021, 07:15:40 AM
I don't think revealing my data is really a nice idea, I don't have to reveal my identity because it can get to wrong hand, after verification I believe anything can happen to the exchange later in the future(hacked), which my data might endup getting to hackers hand and they might endup using it for illegal things that's why I don't really go with kyc idea.

From the short replies i have read, majority of persons are skeptical about KYC verification mainly due to privacy issues, but really, who's to say your details that you are being private about cannot be obtained from another place or source that you have used it in in the past.

With the increasing cases of money laundering and all that, some of these financial institutions are instituting KYC to know their customers. As a user, it doesn't mean you should be quick to do KYC verification with every exchange you come across, exercise caution as well.
3337  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are Human capable of creating a deadly Virus? on: December 06, 2021, 01:16:34 AM
Nothing is impossible to us humans, from inception till date, no accurate prediction about the nature of a person can say exactly what a person can or cannot do. If humans are capable of creating a deadly virus? i'd say why not...is it not the same humans that created the deadly nuclear weapons and other weapons capable of mass destruction for the purpose of killing, nothing stops them from engineering a virus for same purpose as well. Humans are more than capable of creating a deadly virus to kill.
3338  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think will be the most important industry in the near future? on: December 05, 2021, 08:21:21 PM
In the coming years, i don't think it will just be one industry having more importance than the others, but a group of industries having collective group importance, and these industries are the ones that are offsprings of the Basic needs of man, which revolves around Food, Shelter, Clothing, water, air, and proper healthcare.
3339  Other / Beginners & Help / Recurring issues of plagiarism. on: December 05, 2021, 04:17:34 PM
Countless times, issues of plagiarism have been addressed, many forum users have gone under the hammer and punished, used as example for others to reiterate that plagiarism is not permitted. Unfortunately still, whenever i visit the meta board, i still see reports of intentional plagiarism by some forum users and i am wondering, why do people still intentionally plagiarize?

Is there possibility that newbies have never come across forum rules in the "Beginners and help" board where plagiarism is clearly stated to be prohibited? or are these other few reasons identified by me valid reasons for plagiarising.

-Pretence
That is trying to act as though you possess a sort of knowledge that you do not have, a major cause of plagiarism amongst newbies.

- Lack of creativity in writing
Newbies finding it difficult to express themselves through writing and sometimes feeling like their creative write ups or post will not be enough to provoke a reasonable conversation amongst other forum users.

- Laziness
The ease associated with copy and pasting, another lure to plagiarism.

3340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 05, 2021, 03:11:37 PM
Maybe it's still too early to tell, maybe they are still playing under the influence of Carricks motivation and tactics, maybe it's the home advantage, but from my observation, MUFC are already looking good under this new coach, almost like he has been there for a while, great first half performance against crystal palace, but I am certain that the team supporters need goals to show for it. Expecting goals in the second 45.
