3321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have Bitcoins helped to improve your life? on: March 27, 2015, 11:29:20 PM
Bitcoin is simply awesome, there is no doubt about it. I learned so much about is and I still feel like I really don't know anything. When I heard about it first time I began to wonder how much we can improve with proper use of it. Now I see that possibilities are endless, the only limit is human creativity and ill will of governments and politicians.
3322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the late adopters, gentlemen. on: March 27, 2015, 11:13:28 PM
no we re not the late adopters, you have to remember that bitcoin was pumped up by Mark kapales and his goons.  so the fact it did not reach 1000 naturally means we are still early adopters,  They are tons of people who still dont know about bitcoin yet.  Im surprised at this current level bitcoin is not spiking.  Thanks to again reason is not spiking is because of alt coins, traders, and not enough demand yet.  That 2013 gold rush was fake, it was paid by exchanges and mining companies to pump and dump.   So again we are still the early adopters. Next year is going to be a better year for bitcoin.  Value will head to 500 to 800.  So stop crying about we are late adopters and think, then buy, buy buy.  Dont panick sell because the weak traders are dumping.
You know that price range and threshold of $1000 is purely fictional number and it doesn't mean if bitcoin will reach stable $1000 price range we will be out of some sort of phase. It doesn't work like that.
The truth is that we now have no easy way to obtain bitcoins anymore, mining is not profitable for 'normal' users and they only way to acquire bitcoin is just to buy it for cash. Early adopters could easily mine bitcoins that is the difference. So I guess we are not exactly in the 'early' stage of bitcoin anymore.
3323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sheep Market owner arrested! on: March 27, 2015, 11:05:55 PM
...
Also, it would have been easy to launder the stolen bitcoins if he had done it properly. He could have sent a portion of his stash through a mixer such as Bitmixer.io every couple of months and cashed out little bits at a time using LocalBitcoins. If the police becomes suspicious, he could have simply said that he was an early adopter which would be very difficult to disprove.

It's not that easy. In such cases you have to be able to prove your story. They cannot prosecute you for any crime until proving your guilt, but they can and will seize your cash if you can't prove it's legit. Otherwise every criminal could just say "I'm an early bitcoin adopter and cashed my bitcoins slowly over time".

Plus, according to linked article:

Quote
Thomas was never arrested until know, even though that his name details were well known and reported to the Czech police soon after the scam.

that surely didn't help his attempt to money launder.

if he took 40 million he should had moved and stay off the net. Case solved, the face he kept his facebook and other shit, he did the same shit like Dread pirate roberts did. Im sure the Evoulution scammers are scared of there asses now.  ha ha ha
This Czech guy was just a lucky flop. He was not pro scammer but he just went with the flow and he won some big money. From the other hand Evolution creators were professional scammers, fraudsters and carders. They won't be easy catch.

3325  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [03-26-2015] LazyCoins: Cryptocurrency Exchange Made Easy on: March 26, 2015, 10:36:30 PM
LazyPay plans to empower merchants and businesses with bitcoin support. Used in conjunction with LazyCoins, the company will be able to offer the most secure, efficient, and cheap option for accepting bitcoins in the world. The company feels that bitcoin will be used in daily life at some point in the future, and they hope to spark that movement through their services. - so they are basically capitalizing on people's fear that bitcoin exchange markets are not good, plagued with terrible security and bad management and want to offer people some kind of 'solid' equivalent...
3326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason behind the surge of merchants accepting Bitcoin in 2014? on: March 26, 2015, 10:20:33 PM
There are regulated exchanges meaning that your average person on the street can buy bitcoin without needing to meet anyone to exchange cash for bitcoin!
A lot of money is being invested into legitimate bitcoin businesses too, I think they all see that bitcoin adoption is inevitable and they will be ahead of the curve getting in now.
That are some solid points and logical arguments. But I'm wondering how people may think that 'surge of merchants accepting bitcoin is something unwanted and unfavorable. It is just a part of bitcoin evolution if that is happening we should be only happy because we are on a good way to mass adoption.
3327  Other / Off-topic / Re: If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do? on: March 26, 2015, 09:58:52 PM
I would quit my job and go live somewhere at the sea. That would be a nice life.

Climate change might have other plans for your retirement destination. Plan carefully.  Grin
You can't plan everything. Life has its own plan for everyone of us. Bitcoin is a great example, don't wait forever. Just take it and use it while you can. I am not waiting for $1000 price, life is too short.
3328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you support International Bitcoin Day? on: March 26, 2015, 09:42:49 PM
What would happen if everyone in the world used Bitcoin for one day?

Please check out the site and let me know what you think.

http://IntBtcDay.com
Seems like a positive idea, but how is everyone in the world supossed to use Bitcoin when most people in the world don't have access to proper internet.
This won't happen. Internet won't be available for everyone soon anyway. I just want to know why we would like to have bitcoin day when we don't even have something like Dollar day or Euro day anyway?
3329  Other / Meta / Re: A more effective way to reduce signature spamming on: March 26, 2015, 09:12:07 PM
I'm ready to cooperate to reduce spamming.
If you want to reduce spaming please look at DaDice's signature campaign and check out their spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_RyLrCa3saxwHPz8mgPuNlV8ewuX7RlC15ZUQRVp99w/edit#gid=1029585434
Managers of Dadice are really reading people's posts and evaluate them. While it is still subjective and not ideal solution but post quality is now significantly higher and I think it is step in good direction.
3330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why don't poor countries like Liberia teach its citizens programming? on: March 25, 2015, 06:08:30 PM
Op, you know what Africa is so ill developed. People are starving and countries like Liberia exists? Because they don't care. It is not simple matter of telling them - oh, wait we know that you can do well if you will learn how to code! - people there would not listen, they do not know how to change, or they don't know that there is better world out there. We need to wait a whole generation to be able to change that system.
3331  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Fighters within reach of Denmark/Sweden Air Space.. AGAIN! on: March 25, 2015, 05:54:19 PM
It is clear that the Russian aircraft was being operated in a reckless manner.
Having the transponder off in close proximity to civilian air traffic endangers innocents.
It is entirely consistent with their prior aggressive actions towards airliners and disregard for safety.
You know that people in the past were starting wars from less trivial reasons than violation of airspace? Russian pilots are not careless, they are ORDERED to do that - It is their mission. They test european countries whenever will they react to kremlin's provocations and how far russians can go with it...
3332  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: March 25, 2015, 05:36:23 PM
This is quite simple.
Ask yourself which commodity you are more likely to make money with.
-snipe-
That is not that simple. If you only want to earn money bitcoin is far better. But if you want to invest in the future. And be 100% sure that you won't go bankrupt in case of war or EMP attack, then gold or other 'physical' commodities are the only option.
3333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason behind the surge of merchants accepting Bitcoin in 2014? on: March 25, 2015, 05:22:21 PM
-snip-

What do you think? Do you think this the only reason or are there other factors at play? And now that accepting Bitcoin is no longer viewed as "groundbreaking" as it used to be, do you think the trend of ever-increasing merchant adoption will continue into 2015 and the coming years or have we reached a plateau?

Of course not. We are far from reaching limit of retailers and companies accepting bitcoin. That is for sure. That list you presented was just an introductory example. I predict that if some really big fish will accept bitcoin i.e. Walmart or Amazon we would be seeing domino effect on a large scale.
3334  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we see the bottom? on: March 25, 2015, 05:07:16 PM
http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/03/25/bitcoin-price-continues-to-decline-where-will-it-stop/

I need some experts analyst here.
Right now, bitcoin sits at $246.

Will this continue? If yes, at what level will it stop?

Its impossible to predict the bottom, as any large holder could dump anytime. But I doubt we would go below 200 in the following months.
That is true. We can't really know when price will drop in the end. But something else is more interesting for me, why the hell did that happen? You guys have some info about it? There was nothing what indicated that bitcoin price will drop like the, we were almost at $300... and now this...
3335  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Vod] I need an explanation from him on: March 24, 2015, 10:54:10 AM
I am sorry if I misread that. However, it is still how trust works. You and Vod have a spat for ages, so it's only logical that Vod doesn't trust him. I reckon you wouldn't do business with Vod either, though you choose not to publish your distrust in Vod's feedback.

Why do not you look at your post. Your goal is to raise spam Activity and Posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=331100;sa=showPosts

PS: 26 Pages spam Activity and Posts

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my opinion, he did use a lot of their powers to impose on all the members of this forum.

If you want to stop all transactions here it is best not to have this forum and should not exist Bitcoin.

Or Do not put the list Marketplace here, Please remove it from forum

Long story short. You can't win against Vod. If you don't do what he say hes red trust is gonna stay. If you still want to sell your keys your best option is just write it fair and square in your opening post (of your selling thread) what is this red trust and who gave it to you. People will understand. Good luck.
3336  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Bitcointalk Newbie Accounts on: March 24, 2015, 09:30:09 AM
Prices are way too high. Would you pay 5$ for an account you could make in seconds? Ask yourself that. Bulk accounts are also much better because people can buy them in bulk to level them up and sell them for much more later.

I think it's because the accounts were created early. Since they were created a long time ago, you only have to make a few posts to get it to say a member account. I think that's why the older the account the higher the price is.
I don't think they are really worth that much. If the accounts were created in 2012 or 2013 then the price set by op is fair enough.
It is exactly the case here. Accounts created in 2014 or even in 2013 are nothing special really. Definitely not worth the price. I would consider buying newbie account only prior 2012 to be honest. After all you still need to boost activity of these account by yourself for over a year to be able to do something!
3337  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [DaDice] Signature Campaign Discussion Thread | Join The Fun! on: March 24, 2015, 09:23:59 AM
Do you plan on using marcotheminer's bot for the sig campaign? I know campaign managers are reluctant in using it because the bot doesn't check quality. You should hire a person to do this and update the bot every few days or so. I like it because it gives up to date stats on your post and your rate and how much you will be getting paid. Really looking forward to this in the future!!

I like ndnhc did PM me once saying he was interested, I'll talk to him about it.
Bot is not that bad of an option here, but I am afraid it is nothing more that fancy calculator. I only can show you number of posts, and maybe, number of
characters used for each posts. Nothing more. If you are pursuing quality of posts you will still have to check users posts from time to time. To sum everything up, bot is nice as supportive tool.
3338  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Protonmail accepts Bitcoin - Keep your email private ;-> on: March 24, 2015, 09:16:14 AM
The fact that your mail is stored in a secure way may not mean much.
Your mail travels through a couple of nodes until it gets stored on the safe servers. And those nodes are not secured. Also the sender..is that secured too?
And then.. what's the point?

That's why you should encrypt text with GPG for outgoing mails.
Don't be paranoid about it. You will only need that either if you are a terrorist of secret agent really. "Normal" people do no need something like that really.
And I want to know if I donate to proton mail will I get my account faster/instantaneously?
3339  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: epay.info scam on: March 24, 2015, 09:10:09 AM
I will tell that everything faucet related in bitcoin world is either huge waste of time, scam attempt of some sort or mix of both.
I would advise you if you want to earn bitcoin - stop using faucets. After all you are now angry over 16000 sathoshis, you know that is something
like $0.042? It is not worth your time completely.
3340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ok So I Just Sent £1000 of BTC to a Friend in Northern Namibia.. Now What? on: March 24, 2015, 08:59:45 AM
I guess the safest way would be for them to get a verified account with an exchange like Bitstamp which would allow them to convert the BTC to USD and have it transferred directly to their bank account. You can also convert BTC to USD through Virwox and then withdraw it to a Skrill or Paypal account but they have some nasty fees.

Well, a friend of mine solve this problem by using his family and friends in a city where there are Bitcoin Atm's.... He sends them money to their bank accounts and they buy him BTC. The opposite can also be done, if he wants to sell it.   Cheesy

You have to be creative, if you live in a 3rd world country. {Not saying Namibia is 3rd world} The technology will catch up, if their are a demand for it..... look what Mpesa did for Kenya.   Grin
I is nice that you think everything bitcoin related can be done just by being creative. But I am not so sure it is possible. After all, you need to have that bitcoin ATM, you need to have dedicated service which is available in your country without 3rd party infrastructure bitcoin is nothing more that just line of code unfortunately.
