I think you over looked the part where I said that in today's world this type of action would not fly.
It might fly, if it has enough sugar-coating by the Mass Media Corporation. We already start seeing what happened in Yugoslavia back then, and as time go by, more info will leak and coalesce into a not so attractive picture. The same goes for Iraq, Afghanistan (both Soviet and American stay there), Libya. Yet, there was no backlash at the moment that counted the most - when atrocities happened. I remember during the Invasion of Yugoslavia, there were a lot of posters in public transportation in Norway from Loesje, condemning the war, with slogans of the type "Weher are the NATO cheerleaders?". But people gazed at them indifferently, bare acknowledging their existence.

I think Wilikon nailed it with one word, but I would even remove the "re-" bit. Take 'em while they're young.
There are already games out there that promote kindness and familiy values in a subtle way, without actually stating it as a goal. I start getting weary when a government starts stating such goals.
But based on your assumption ,we have to tackle everything that a government does as a possible threat to our liberty , pockets , minds? Not exactly tackle, but governments tend to have a nasty track record in those areas, so any such initiative automatically raises a few red flags and blows a few whistles.

Hmmm , let's get Klichko out of this. He might have taken a few euros or more but unlike the others he had earned enough cash by himself to buy those houses. Ok, I also heard that he got to drinking recently, having finally realised what kind of hell hole he dug himself into. I shall be magnanimous. You just had to attack him .... why this ? I am not attacking, but relaying information, that I gleaned from some Ukrainian chatter, that actually sounded rather sympathetic and a little pitying for the situation he got himself into. There is a difference. I don't have anything against him. You've got this from a chatter , but you still had to point it out. It's like , hey this guy isn't like the others , I admit , he's not corrupt but man he has such drinking problems.... It was still a personal attack with no reason , just to make him look bad like the others.I disagree on that point. It was actually meant as a way of showing that he's regretting getting mixed up with the others, but doesn't quite knowing how to get out of it. This might get perceived differently by Western readers, but if what I relayed is true, then people in Ukraine and Russia will see it almost as Japanese see committing sepukku to save one's face. Good news. Referendum planned for the 11th of May an Central Election Committee is being organised. There will be two questions (tentative proposition): 1. Do you agree with formation of an independent Republic of Donetsk? 2. Which state should Donetsk republic be a part of: Ukraine or Russia? There are 3.5 million people who can vote in Donetsk, so there'll be a lot of work for the Committee in the coming days.

I bet on the 9th of May 2015 , their situation will be the same ( living standard i mean).
If they join Russia, then their living standards would definitely change for the better. Pensions and salaries will increase by many times, and they will qualify for generous welfare benefits such as the maternity capital. And those money will come from? Why would salaries increase just because they are not under Ukraine rule? Will their productivity increase out of the blue? =))))) Now really , this Russian propaganda about wages and pension is just disgusting. First of all, it will come from their salaries. To put it simple, currently they are either paid a fraction of what their labour really brings in to the owners, or they are not paid at all. You are forgetting that factor. Their productivity might also increase, if they feel more motivated by actually receiving salaries.

I think that Yanukovych have much more chances to become a version of happy end. Returns to the office, signs a decree on restoration of the constitutional order and performing a referendum. Then, two hours later voluntarily resigns and a legitimate transitional government will be formed.
There are rumors that Yanukovich will back into Ukraine at 20 April. This date was announced by polish FM related sources, and confirmed by Aksyonov. I also read it on Russian channels, but consider the rumour unfounded, until the situation is on the way to improvement.

@counter: You are welcome. There is also all the talk about gold on the disappeared Malaysian Air flight, and its path intersecting a US military base. But that is more in the rumour/conspiracy department. Talking about movies : ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fmovienews.ro%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2008%2F11%2Fpressaurum04.jpg&t=663&c=WcXhvJdigRGkRw) Niothor, what movie is that? Looks pretty post-apocalyptic. And what does that neatly-landed Mi-24 do in the exact middle of a square. Too neat. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Not really. Not after US failed to return the gold to German and France (under various pretexts, and not even allowing Germans to inspect their gold reserve in its entirety). Not after all the Lybian gold just vanished into thin air after the NATO intervention. US can always give an excuse that they were simply safeguarding it on the government's request (omitting any mention of the way said government came to power).

A new Op-Edge on RT, taking different look at Ukrainian conundrum: Everyone blames either US or Russia, but what about the country, where the crisis actually unfurls? ‘Kiev wants to spark war between NATO and Russia’http://rt.com/op-edge/eastern-ukraine-military-operation-860/DW: No, of course, it’s silly. There is an old joke about the state secretary: “How can you tell that John Kerry is lying? Because his lips are moving.” He is paid to do that. I don’t blame him personally, but it’s hard to respond to lies when they are so huge and there are so many of them. Haven't hear that one! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

There is a storm of a military base in Donetsk by unknown persons. Both sides shoot into the air, while attackers yank at the gates and throw molotov cocktails. http://ria.ru/world/20140416/1004219328.htmlI wonder if this is the provocation that there was talk about yesterday, where a group from Right Sector were to stage an attack against a military installation? Putin will be in Donetsk in less than 2 weeks.
Not improbable. From what I heard on Donetsk open comm channel yesterday, people were wondering why there still was no help from Russia.

Yes, on the last two items, people commented along the lines of "Those guys in Kiev smoke quite strong weed". ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Bomb shelters. Maybe against NATO? On a more serious note. People are still attempting diplomacy, but I guess they'll be ignored again: 19:19 GMT:
Donetsk’s South-East Movement for Federalization has made a list of demands to the authorities in Kiev, reports Itar-Tass. Following the results of its first session, the group demanded a constitutional reform aimed at the federalization of the country, a pardon for anti-government protesters, a cancellation of the mobilization of forces, and an end to military operations in Ukraine. The gathering was chaired by presidential candidate Oleg Tsaryov.

Those Americans are starting to get repetitive. A small re-post: http://www.vz.ru/news/2014/4/14/681926.htmlTurchinov's gang tries to cut off water supplies. In 1993 Crimean Republic declared an independence (everything was done according to constitution and treaty). Then Kiev switched off the water, gas and electricity supplues, forcing Crimea to cancel their decision. I see that nothing has been changed since 1993, they are using blackmailing again... Stupid clowns. Nothing new. Crimea is investigating alternatives, like building a water pipeline under Kerch strait or drilling Artesian wells. They are also investigating desalination options. A solution should be ready by 2015. Well, Mallorca and Gran Canaria are almost entirely dependent on imported water, so I don't foresee any technical problems for Crimea either.
