Are those your sample chips from BFL?
Yes I got 6 samples and BFL give me 6 chips up front(so not really samples)... Idea is to get enough to make 8 and 16 chip board and testrun it to be sure it will not fail in a month...

Fantastic.

Keep up the great work!

3346  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which USB hub to use with Block Erupters or K1? A List. on: July 31, 2013, 09:49:15 PM
Sipolar 20-Port2020 (?)?¥420.00 (~$70)3.50 (?)1
Short evaluation- DO NOT BUY THIS HUB.

Long evaluation -  I bought this hub, thinking 90 watt, 20v, should be able to handle up to 30 usb eruptors, without a problem, but .....I just received mine and right off the bat, you could not run more than 12 miners in it, any more than that and the additional ones do get recognized, do not get assigned a com port number , but neither bitminer, nor CGminer, can run.  In addition, the hub is split into two 10 port hubs internally (It has two usb cables coming out of it (one for the left 10 and one for the right 10)).  I took it apart, and there seems to be a spot for a 2nd power adapter on the PCB, but there is no plug receptacle, I may put one in there, but there is some soldering involved and I am not the best at that.  Having one cable plugged into the PC from the hub results in the hub identifying one set of 10 USB eruptors running with no problem.  Plugging the USB cable in the 2nd usb port results in the other 10 being recognized, but when you plug in both, it looks like it recognizes everything (all 20) until you run CG Miner.  Then CGminer crashes and you cannot run.  it will work with up to 12 USB eruptors in it, in any configuration (6+6, 8+4, 10+2) but any more than that and cgminer crashes.  Now, to be clear, I am running CGminer with other hubs (two 7 port and one 10 port(and more than 12 USB eruptors, so I know its not a CGMiner configuration issue.), plus, bitminter doesn;t recognize more than 12 as functional either.

Save your money, this hub is not the answer for running 20 USB miners at once (even though I wanted it to be.)
I finally received this hub 3 days ago and it's a POS.... so I definitely confirm Garfield's conclusion.  I wish you had reviewed ot before I bought it.
it looks solid and promising but it can't handle more than 15 and runs hot.  you also get unpredictable stoppages on Eruptors.
as Garfield concluded, don't bother with this POS

are you sure its not a bad hub or power supply? there are 2 people on ebay selling this exact product (search bitcoin 20 usb hub) and they claim they've been running 20 w/o problems without upgrades and even show 20 BE hashing away in the ebay pic. they are sipolar 20v 20 port hubs with the 2 cables

Do you know IF they are running Windows?

Feedback from anyone that's tried any of these is appreciated!

I bought the Juiced 10-port from Amazon and suggest getting something else.  It'll run 8 erupters but when you plug in a 9th it starts to lose contact with one, then another, then another and the only way to fix that is either restart cgminer or unplug/replug the miner.  The Anker's extra amp makes a big difference.

Adding insult to injury my Raspberry Pi can't see this hub at all, so I think I'm going to order the Anker from Amazon and return this one.

3349  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Group Buy #14 ASICMiner Erupter USB - 2+ day group 46+ ordered on: July 27, 2013, 04:51:19 AM
Interesting...  I think all group orders are gonna hit a dead stop soon. Cheesy

why?

Due to the rumors around the price reduction / returning customer price.

If it is true, when does it go in effect, will it be retroactive to all group orders (does everyone have to hound the GO leaders?), if I have a group order in *right now* will they be honoring the .6 price, or will we be the last group to overpay and then our reward is being the last group to make it into the .1BTC lucky birds?

Not saying people will stop ordering, but I don't want to be the last guy that paid 2BTC for erupters before they dropped to 1BTC.  Nobody on this order does. Smiley

While I suppose the rumor could be half right and then you are stuck paying 1BTC vs 0.6BTC; I would say that the entire thing is either true or false. Meaning, if you buy a bunch now at 1BTC, you are entitled to that same amount at 0.1BTC, effectively making them 0.55BTC. So truthfully, anyone looking to do group buys shouldn't worry about it.

I guess the risk is, what if that rumor is not true? Then you're stuck with the units at 1BTC.  Suppose they drop it to .8 instead and offer no discount to prior customers... that's the real risk.

Well,

It's a great way to drive prices down that's for sure!

Folks, my message box is getting full of requests regarding this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg2794058#msg2794058

My response:
"i don't get involved with rumors
Being a re-seller, ofcourse I would follow manufacturers requests and promos, once anything is officially announced."

If you PM/email me questions regarding this, I will not answer but defer to the manufacturer.

Hope you understand.

Thanks!

Canary

I think the news is already confirmed. I bought 7 USB sticks from you, so it looks like I can get another 7 for 0.1BTC each. Really good news. Just need you to confirm that with ASICMiner.

Thanks a lot!
Confirmed, Where? Did I miss an announcement?

Geez!

My I've got whiplash from all these rumors!
I hope the Chinese did not do knockoffs...

I'd go for it for sure...

3351  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hubs for Block Erupter USB AsicMiner on: July 15, 2013, 11:22:10 PM
The two things you really want to know:

Is it limited to 5A out or does it add an extra .5A it takes from the downstream? If not, 10 erupters will be dicey.

Is it monolithic or chained? If it's chained, many of the ports won't work on an rPi.

I plan on a full  test and I will send it to Canary to also test to make sure it will work properly.

The power supply is 12V at 5 amps = 60 watts. @ 2.5 watts per USB miner = Power enough for 24 USB miners.

Is there any way to make it a 12 port and space them twice as far apart?
So it aids in cooling and you could put a fan on each end.
3352  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hubs for Block Erupter USB AsicMiner on: July 15, 2013, 10:26:07 PM
Need to know what operating systems it will work with as well as the Raspberry.

How much cheaper?

I'd start with 1-pc.

Dont think there will be a group 10 for these... new usb miners coming on 7/10 so friedcat probably liquidated all of these. i suspect it will probably be a faster chip but back up at 1.99B lets wait and see

Canary do you have any updates/ETA on the incoming shipment? they are dropping like a rock on ebay...

Friedcat will have a rude awakening if he thinks people are going to jump up to BTC1.99 again if there isn't ATLEAST a doubling in hash power in the Next gen Erupter.. With this order of 16 that's 33 I have now purchased thru Canary.. I won't buy another if that is the case

IMO- two more price decreases are in order.
20-30 percent each.
