3341  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price on: May 19, 2017, 07:05:39 PM
Bitcoin is moving to $2000 today. What is the impact of this geometrical price movement to the world financial system? Let us discuss.

In just one word, nothing

In more than just one word, the price itself is meaningless outside the exchanges (since Bitcoin is not used in real life), so there is no way it can affect the world financial system. And it is the price alone which matters. If someone sold 1 satoshi for 1 dollar, would that mean anything? Apart from that, the price can easily lose all reference even between exchanges if there happens a thing which I called Bitcoin Big Rip. With higher prices we will see higher volatilities (in fact, we are already seeing them), up to a point where volatility becomes comparable to price itself. That would be a Big Rip event or moment

That's true.
Bitcoin simply as a mean of speculation won't contribute even a penny to World Economy. It will be merely a trading system outside the bracket of real world, having zero utility for the working of economy. If we wanna see it making some difference in financial system then we should concentrate on Bitcoin foundations rather than making merry on its insane speculative rise.
I would argue that Bitcoin does have a small impact on the world economy, especially with these price increases.
Some countries have put regulations in place so they can tax you when you make a profit with Bitcoin and cash it out for fiat, that has an effect on the world economy, albeit small.
3342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you care? on: May 19, 2017, 05:06:37 PM
Most of the trusted casino these days provide a way for you to verify each and every roll you make in their casino so that we can be sure casino is not manipulating any results. We have to keep in mind that playing in provably fair casino doesn't guarantee you winning, you have to be lucky and should be able to manage your bankroll wisely to make exit with some profit.
What about if the total provably fair system itself completely rigged off ? We cannot be sure about anything as most of  gamblers are facing only losses. That is the reason OP is coming with the concern of why we need to care about legitimate of casino while choosing them : "loss is the only result then why we need to spend time on studying the legitimate of casinos".

Being lucky and managing bankroll wisely are not possible for any gambler. If it would have been possible, there would be significant people who would have found their life out of gambling profits.

In my opinion the requirements you have mentioned are some consoling reasons to make ourselves mentally accept the losses.
Well, word usually gets out pretty quickly if the provably fair system is flawed, there are numerous threads about that in this forum.
Even if gamblers only lose, it's still unethical to 'rig' the games or have a higher house edge than advertised.
3343  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I want to build Web bitcoin wallet service on: May 19, 2017, 05:02:12 PM
I'm not in any way suggesting you should use this, but I recently noticed that there's a Wordpress plugin for that.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wallets/

I personally wouldn't use a Wordpress plugin for that, but just saying it exists and it's up-to-date apparently.
3344  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: bitcoin script Needed on: May 19, 2017, 04:57:53 PM
That seems to be a ponzi, at least according to some of the threads I read about it:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1841083.new

Did you want that or something else? The website mentions it's a 'mining pool', so you might have been looking for that?

And btw, nobody here is going to help you find a ponzi script.

i know its a ponzi, but i need that script
Why would you want to run a ponzi and why do you think people are going to help you scam other people?
You can expect to receive negative trust from other members by just asking for this, you know...
3345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Doom Scenario on: May 19, 2017, 04:55:16 PM
Well I'm not thinking about natural disasters here, I'm talking about..what if one day a glitch is found and BTC will value zero? Is technical possible? I'd say nothing is impossible even if it may seem so right now.

And regarding the private keys, they are impossible to break, but do you think they will still be impossible in 50-100 years? I have my doubts; but of course it's not something we should worry about in our lifetime

i don't think it's possible for the value to suddenly go to zero, just because they found a glitch or exploit or anything, someone will always buy cheap bitcoin, i know i would do it lol, i remember there was a bug in the past for bitcoin, but they fixed it without effect on the value, so you see we have already an example what would happen in your scenario
That really depends on the severity of the bug, if users balances get affected, you can be damn sure it'll drop close to 0 dollars.
And you'd be a fool to buy more Bitcoin at that point because it's cheap.
3346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which coin is best for tradding??? on: May 19, 2017, 01:54:41 PM
Alts are on dump right now so its not a best option to deal with them at this moment and i suggest that trading with bitcoins might be better for now since as i see the stats right now its having a quite good flactuation where we can earn if we just follow its track and do some short tradings with it. But of your afraid for its flactuation then might be good if we just buy those huge ICO coin who's been added newly on exchanges since they've got a high potential to be pump up in near future.
That's certainly not the case for all altcoins, have you even looked at Coinmarketcap? Check Ethereum, NEM and even Litecoin, they're all perfect for trading.

With Litecoin you could have gone short or long the past week.
3347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DOGE fees still low. on: May 19, 2017, 01:50:58 PM
I'm actually surprised that DOGE still has a pretty high market cap of 170 million.
Pretty good for just being a meme coin Tongue

Also still pretty popular, I see a lot of people use it on the dice website that I play on.
3348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker strategy! on: May 19, 2017, 12:51:39 PM
Completely depends on what kind of game I'm playing, I use a different strategy for cash games, 6 or 9 players and for tournaments (early and late game).
In general, I play pretty loose-agressive in cash games, the less players the looser I play ofc.

Early and mid game in tournaments I play very tight and loosen up at the last tables and in the bubbles.
3349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RANSOMWARE impact on: May 19, 2017, 12:42:55 PM
There is a positive impact on bitcoin more than the negative impact, prior to this people already viewed bitcoin
as being used for illegal trading in the dark market but this recently hit which is the RANSOMWARE  will increase the
demand of bitcoin and will make it more popular, it is for the publicity as well.
Lol, so you think ransomware would make bitcoin more popular by extorting people? Well, t certainly wouldn't be in any positive way.
I found that most news articles that I've read about this randsomware attack didn't even mention Bitcoin in any negative way.

I've seen more positive news than negative news about Bitcoin, at least in the mainstream news I follow.
Just wait till it goes over $2000, the focus will be on the price and not about the criminal aspects.
3350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things Bitcoin CANNOT Do on: May 19, 2017, 11:47:24 AM
What Bitcoin CANNOT do:

- It can't ''mutiply''
- It can't be ''cloned''
- It can't make 3% interest a day
- It cant be ''generated''
- It can't grow except in value
NB: It can't make you money for nothing

It can`t be used to buy food or pay the bills.
It can`t be accepted as a real currency by all the governments in the world.
It can`t be used to give loans. All the btc lending platforms are a failure.
You can use it to buy food and pay the bills, there are services for that and I believe one municipality in Switserland even allows taxes to be paid in Bitcoin directly.
It's not expensive or hard to find a debit card that you can load with Bitcoin.

You can even get your monthly paycheck paid in Bitcoin.

3351  Economy / Economics / Re: Poloniex Withdraw Times!? on: May 19, 2017, 11:43:30 AM
I'm also waiting for quite some time now for my withdraw to process, mine is BTC.
I have noticed a lot of similar complaints in the chat on the exchange, so I guess it's a site-wide thing, but I'm not sure.
3352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Happen If Gambling was not introduced? on: May 19, 2017, 11:39:20 AM
If gambling is not introduce maybe people are just living simple and normal.
There is no gambling to waste their money and time.
Bankruptcy also will take place  if gambling is not introduce.

Bankruptcy will always be there even there is no gambling, just like in the banks they are declaring bankruptcy when they started to audit that expenses is bigger than profit. And I agree with you, if gambling is not introduced for sure those addicted gamblers will not learn on how to gamble their money and they will spend it wisely.
Gambling addiction is actually not that different from other addictions. The brain releases the same chemicals and gamblers also experience a certasin 'high' when they're playing.
So, I think it would be fair to assume that even without gambling, those would-have-been gambling addicts could very well get addicted to something else if gambling wasn't an option.

3354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can we all take a second and have a laugh at the expense of prof bitcorn on: May 19, 2017, 11:25:04 AM
With him being an economics professor, I really wonder how much he understood about the underlying technology of Bitcoin.
And I would also really like to hear his opinion about Bitcoin today, must've changed his opinion I think.

Btw, there were certainly more people who said similar stuff about Bitcoin. Has anyone notable ever changed their opinion?

3355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you positive or negativeO? on: May 18, 2017, 06:10:09 PM
I think I'm at a loss overall, not much though, I think it's only a few hundred dollars.
It doesn't really matter to me anyway, I gamble purely for fun.
3356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any sites with keno that aren't the big crappy ones? on: May 18, 2017, 06:08:04 PM
Ever tried bitcoinvideocasino's keno?(https://bitcoinvideocasino.com/keno). what's the problem with keno at fortunejack, seriously it's one of the best. i've played it many times and sometimes won good jackpots.
That same script has probably been used over and over by different websites.

I also like the Keno at Bitcoinvideocasino, they've got some pretty huge progressive jackpots usually.
3357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet Another Reason to Have Various BTC Wallets on: May 18, 2017, 06:05:56 PM
I don't think there's a need for diversity, one just has to try a few and use the few ones that are really good. Personally, I only use breadwallet at the moment. It doesn't let me set a fee, but its fee calculating algorithm never let me down. If you really want to set a fee, just use Core or any of its derivatives. If you want to set a fee but don't want a full blockchain, take Electrum.
Do you mean that there's no need for more diversity? Because what you describe is that we already have diversity in Bitcoin wallets.
I would say that it couldn't hurt to have even more choices for wallets.
3358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Old sourcecodes of trading bots? on: May 18, 2017, 03:53:52 PM
You'll also find more if you just look for 'open source bitcoin trading bot' on Google.

I've found a trading bot (Gekko) that's still being updated and supports 17 exchanges. check out their website or Github:
https://gekko.wizb.it/
https://github.com/askmike/gekko

I haven't used this bot, so I can't comment on how good or bad it is Wink
3359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've Had Enough Of BTC - Converting To A New Currency on: May 18, 2017, 03:29:56 PM
Fact of the matter is that Bitcoin is still the only form of cryptocurrency that has a lot of merchants and 'infrastructure' around it to make it actually useable.
The number of places that accept Bitcoin can't even be compared to the number of merchants that accept alitcoins.

Though, I'd personally like to see some more merchants accept Ethereum or Litecoin.
3360  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin be effectively used to curb corruption? on: May 18, 2017, 03:26:13 PM
It can help curb corruption by being transparent. If every public official in govt had to use btc we would see what they are doing and whre the money goes and all that. Would help keep them honest for sure.
They would still need to check out any suspicious transactions and do a full scale investigation on them. Something like that would definitely cost a lot of money.
And I'm sure that people would still be able to cheat the system.
