3341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jacob Appelbaum: "Bitcoin Prediction: Major bugs in the near future ..." on: June 12, 2011, 11:58:03 AM

He is a posturing publicity whore who cannot hack shit. Just look at this Tor commits - all he works on is lame stuff, not core Tor code!

It's true he might not be an "actual hacker" or "talented coder", but he might have received the info from someone who is and is not a "publicity whore". Many brilliant coders are not very outgoing, even kind of autistic, and just might "report" their "project leaders". We all should have experienced in life that people are different and thus are destined to play different roles in communities and society as a whole.
3342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins is on Yahoo frontpage - Brace for impact people. on: June 11, 2011, 11:43:17 AM
That's not a failure of the individual making the comment (who is likely over 40 and a casual computer user), it's the failure of bitcoin.

I'm afraid the generation of people who still print out every eMail they get and every website they occasionally visit will be very hard to make understand, let alone to make accept and use P2P currency. I'm afraid we'll have to wait until they have become extinct.  Embarrassed

my brain is out of fuel for tonight, but i surely do hope as well that the potential has not even been scratched yet. maybe it will not reach the mass adoption that you prospect, but still a tangible fraction of it surely would suffice for a while at least for me.  Lips sealed

It is funny - an entire network of interwebz is currently split among nerds. Most others still know nothing about this.

I had also thought it's Mt Gox because it rhymes with Fort Knox, and Mt because the currency is won by mining.  Roll Eyes
3348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possibly not a unique idea ... but ... votecoin on: June 08, 2011, 07:26:50 PM
In my utopia, we don't need votecoins because there are no leaders to elect.

Instead, we'd "vote" directly with our bitcoins for projects that we find appealing, like researching better/cleaner/more efficient energy, the road that connects your village to the new super glass tube highway, expanding and beautifying the nature park nearby.
3349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs to be easier on: June 08, 2011, 07:15:35 PM
Yes surely such websites are the preferable way for novice users, and there should be more competition to mybitcoin.com.

I'd also like to see services where I can up-/download my wallet so that I don't have different wallets spread over the entire interwebz.

  • ASP.NET WebForms
  • ASP.NET MVC
  • Sencha/ExtJs
  • jQuery
  • Silverlight
  • Windows Forms
  • WPF
