3341  Economy / Services / Re: 5 STAR REVIEWS - WORLDWIDE - GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, TRUSTPILOT, SITEJABBER & OTHERS on: May 27, 2021, 01:59:50 PM
This means you are violating Google comment posting policy.

Quote
Spam and fake reviews
Your reviews should reflect the experience you've had with the content or service you're reviewing.

Don't post fake or inaccurate reviews.
Don't post the same review multiple times.
Don't post reviews for the same content from multiple accounts.
Don't post reviews to mislead other users or manipulate the rating.
Don't post reviews on behalf of others.
Don't misrepresent your identity or your connection to the content you're reviewing.
Read it, that means you are promoting illegal service in the forum. You are asking for payment for review, it's considered review manipulation. Google hasn't authorized you to sell reviews. The service wouldn't trustworthy in my opinion. So whoever wondering to get this service, please think twice. You might fall in trouble if somehow Google detects you are faking and manipulating reviews.
3342  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Regarding signature campaigns' submission. on: May 27, 2021, 01:43:49 PM
1) Why would I need to post my profile link? Isn't it obvious that I'm the user that applies for the campaign? Are there applicants who entered a different link than the one of their profile?
I don't know the thought of other managers or how they manage participants, but I will explain why I have been asking for a profile link. During the acceptance of participants, I make quote all accepted applicants together. For example, I need TEN participants, and there are hundreds of applicants. So I will check all participant's applications one by one and will paste accepted participant applications in one quote and post them as "Accepted". Then I will update together with all applicant's details into a spreadsheet. So now tell me, should I copy-paste profile links from the "Accepted" quote or I need to visit again all of the applications and copy the link from the username? Which is easy for me? Your answer will be the answer to your question.

2) Why do they ask you to wear the avatar and the signature, but they accept applicants whether they wear it or not? Obviously, once they're accepted they'll wear it, but it doesn't seem that this requirement has any point at all.
Also, I don't know about other manager thought here. But for my campaign, I add this in my rules, I didn't ask to wear a signature and avatar before apply. But it doesn't wrong if anyone asks, because no one forcing you to apply. I add that in the rules section means it's mandatory during the campaign period only for accepted participants. Doesn't mean have to wear before apply nor I force to apply wearing signature and avatar before accepted
3343  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paypal is going to allow users to withdraw coin to other wallet on: May 27, 2021, 09:34:08 AM
Indeed, but I don't understand why they've limited the whole thing to the US customers only [it doesn't make sense].
PayPal has been using many countries and governments allow it to use. But at the same time, crypto hasn't been supported by many governments where PayPal is allowed to use. So if PayPal enables crypto for all countries then those countries that don't support Bitcoin would ban PayPal then. So I don't think PayPal will attempt to allow the use of cryptocurrency via their wallet at all. Most probably that's why they are wondering to launch their own stable coin which would support by other country's governments since the stable coin will be backed by the real USD.
3344  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1xbit is at it again with bounty and a signature campaign on: May 26, 2021, 05:38:42 PM
Or they'll just "cancel" the campaign after the application thread is flooded with scam warning posts. They get a few days of free promotion and can blame the "trolls".
Sorry I'm curious, if everyone here already knows that 1xbit.com is a site with a bad reputation then why didn't anyone report that campaign thread to the moderator for action? I saw the thread was still open.

Please read forum rules,

19. Possible (or real) scams and Trust ratings are not moderated (to prevent moderation abuse).
This means reporting to the moderator wouldn't help to remove the campaign thread. As you see in the rules, the forum doesn't moderate possible or real scams.

Yea, the thread will exist open if OP is not locked by himself or not move to the archive unless he broke forum rules. Moderator only takes action upon breaking forum rules Hope you understand what I said.
3345  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1xbit is at it again with bounty and a signature campaign on: May 26, 2021, 05:23:42 AM
I have created a thread about the 1xbit signature campaign when they launched it last year. Here is it, Eventually, 1xbit has launched its new Signature campaign. (Update: 26-05-2021). Last time they ran banner ads on the forum once they failed to run signature campaign. I was surprised once see their banner ads. But later the ads down by admin, here was the response from admin.

Removed. A service with this reputation should not have been allowed to advertise, but because the bidder was fairly established and had no negative trust, I didn't do enough research, and I missed the scam accusations and the other account. Apologies.

It's best to PM me high-priority things like this, since I notice PMs more quickly than Meta posts with vague titles.

I will donate the 0.08 BTC from this to some charity or charity-like-thing which accepts BTC. Any suggestions for a particular charity? (If there's no consensus in about a week, then I'm just going to donate it to The Water Project.)

Update: 0.0679971 BTC donated to Royse777's Project Covid-19, and 0.0120029 BTC donated to The Water Project

I am not sure if we can prevent this campaign, but personally I don't like to see advertise in the forum.
3346  Economy / Reputation / Re: Eventually, 1xbit has launched its Signature campaign on: May 26, 2021, 04:39:53 AM
It's been noticed 1xbit has started another signature campaign on the forum. Here is the links, 1xbit.com signature campaign (open). And another is review campaign 1xbit.com honest review campaign (open). Seems they have resolution thread in reputation where they aren't enough friendly to solve forum accusation. There are a few members are applying to the campaign. Fund for the campaign wasn't escrowed. I have created the flag against the new account of 1xbit in the main post.
3347  Economy / Reputation / Re: I got a question for not paying project. on: May 25, 2021, 05:29:44 PM
Q1. Is their any solutions from Bitcointalk Forum team if any project not pay Bounty hunters after completing Bounty and successful?
There is no so-called Forum team, and the scam doesn't moderate by forum hence from forum authorities we can't expect any action. The forum doesn't encourage to join in Bounty nor discourage.

Q2. Is it possible to take action against this type of project together?
Together? It's quite ridiculous. How many hunters even care about Bounty stake? They are happy to see the only stake in the spreadsheet. Does really they care or need a real token? I don't think so. Don't believe me? Check yourself how many project scam Bounty hunters and how many scam accusation has been created in the forum against such as a project. I can clearly recall when the accusation was made against BQT and there was less hunter who supports us. Even they weren't about it. So we (DT Member) fight for hunters but we hadn't get support from them. So don't expect too much.
3348  Economy / Economics / Crypto is our last hope for financial independence - John McAfee on: May 25, 2021, 04:52:55 AM
Lately, we haven't noticed many tweets from John McAfee about crypto. But seems he is waking up recently and making tweets about crypto. But didn't made tweets about predictions nor promote any specific coin. He retweeted his 3 years back video ("The looming war on the horizon") where he talked and predict about governments and crypto war and he believes the war has begun. And seems he is supporting crypto in this war and saying- "Crypto is our last hope for financial independence".

I am not a fan of John McAfee's predictions but seems his predictions about the governments and crypto war something potential. Once we see a potential move in Bitcoin price then the negative step came out from China government. Those who believe in decentralization then should agree with what said John McAfee about financial independence, crypto is the last hope.  What do you think?
3349  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: https://satoshihill.com/play ( Complete scam website) on: May 24, 2021, 05:53:24 PM
@OP, can please use correct scam accusation format? It will be pretty easy to understand your accusation. Simply saying scam doesn't prove anything. Besides that, trusting in online reviews is quite complicated. Because manipulating online reviews is pretty easy. I have searched this forum about your issue. Seems there is no other scam accusation exist. But I think you might get help from the forum next time. Just create a thread about the site if you don't find it here using the search button. Once you ask questions to the community about a site, then someone would reply about their service If they used it. I think it would quite helpful. There was a thread I think you missed it to read.. Satoshi Hill Real or Scam , there was a few red flags.
3350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Im Surprisd btc still alive on: May 24, 2021, 05:37:47 PM
It's quite surprising you are trying to spread FUD about Bitcoin. I have read and reply your other thread. Just the same thing you are repeating in different languages. What is your intention to spread FUD? Turn Bitcoin useless? What happens even Elon spread FUD about Bitcoin energy-burning? Nothing, just dump it for quite some time and recovering as well. It's quite hesitating to compare Bitcoin with an Altcoin. You are doing the same thing in other posts as well. You alone can't stop Bitcoin until it's used by the community. And as you know Bitcoin community is very strong, it's not going to break very easily. So, please stop spreading FUD, if you are a loser like me, just HODL.

Stable coins only are better.
It's centralized. It wasn't the goal of cryptocurrency.
3351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we live without btc? on: May 24, 2021, 05:28:58 PM
Weren't we live once there wasn't any BTC? So why not can we live without BTC? Who knows BTC will be created and it will gain the market? Same we don't know what will happen after 10 years. Who knows if something new discovers after a few years and BTC becomes useless? Then peoples will run to new technology. You are comparing BTC with a few altcoins. But you should know the difference between technology and security. Many altcoins still facing 51% attack. Different coins have different configurations, we can't compare that. A stable coin is a centralized coin, BTC wasn't created for that.
3352  Other / Meta / Re: Ponzi schemes & Investor Based Games on: May 24, 2021, 04:50:19 PM
Don't mix gambling with Ponzi. Gambling doesn't guarantee any ROI and no one scamming you (scam gambling means scam) there. You are losing funds literally there. Losing funds and scams by fraud shouldn't consider the same way. In Ponzi scammer are promising you xx% in your investment, but during gambling, you are fully aware you would lose or win. If you think Ponzi also one kind of gambling, then it's just for you, not for all.

Similarly, a warning against Ponzi means people are aware that if they invest in a Ponzi they will lose money too.
Where is the warning? On the website? Are they saying you might lose your funds as well? Rather they are promising a high return. Overall Ponzi Scheme is a liar, they telling revenue will be generated by investing your funds in various places. But aren't doing anything. A few Ponzi rotating money for a few days and a few Ponzi just skip with funds. Although gambling sites not showing warning we are familiar with gambling from childhood.

But believe me, I learned Ponzi word after joining this forum. Before that, I thought they are all legit and dishonest owners skip with funds (Lol).
You see how with time opinions can change Smiley
Not exactly. It wasn't opinion. It was a lack of knowledge.

Why tagging Ponzi promoter? I or a few DT members think Ponzi a kind of cheating. So who promoting Ponzi he could cheat any other way as well. So it's risky for forum users hence we are tagging. Before believing this user everyone would notice the red tag.
I am not against tagging Ponzi promoters. Announcing your website to a section meant for it isn't exactly promoting rather announcing. Anyone who takes money/shares to promote them is wrong and should be tagged.
Forum is free for everyone to post anything if it's not against forum rules. Actually announcing a service here means promoting. It's not just here, if you make an announcement in Cointelegraph simply means you are promoting that.
3353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Response To Elon Musk's Tweet On Bitcoin Mining on: May 23, 2021, 08:36:59 PM
I strongly agree with @o_e_l_e_o here. Nothing else happening except drama and market manipulation. Mark my word, once a day he will accept doge as a payment method of Tesla. The reason is pretty simple, he needs to become richer. If he manipulates Bitcoin then it pumps like 10-20%, but he could easily pump doge 1000% within a day. So why will he spend his time somewhere else? Don't think he is a fool, but he is making us fool. He knows everything related to Bitcoin and energy burn. If he does not make drama then how will he take advantage of the market? Simple math.
3354  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Business model of crypto wallet service providor on: May 23, 2021, 08:12:08 PM
I hope you got desired answers. Just keep in mind, some people want to help the Bitcoin community without any personal benefit from that product. Electrum and Bitcoin core would example. They get funds if anyone makes a donation. Besides that, some people getting profits behind of the service that we are unaware of. Blockchain wallet would be an example here. They have a huge amount of database which has been using to promote their exchange. Besides that, just try yourself to place a banner ad on the Blockchain wallet website and check the rate of an advertisement. So you will discover how they making money. I really appreciate those open-source wallet developers who have been helping the Bitcoin community without direct financial benefits.

According to me anyone who promotes gambling should be tagged, it's my personal opinion like you have yours about Ponzi. Does that mean I should leave negative feedback to all the gambling sites? Of course not. What I think doesn't matter, I believe, as long as the admin has created a space for something.

Why admin created this board? I don't know the exact reason, but Ponzi Scheme was most popular once a time and many users were involved with it. So most probably that's why admin creates an opportunity to take the risk and earn. Although I wasn't born in the forum during that time, but I was familiar with Ponzi. But believe me, I learned Ponzi word after joining this forum. Before that, I thought they are all legit and dishonest owners skip with funds (Lol).

3356  Other / Meta / Re: [BEWARE!] Bitcointalk Credential Phishing Attack -- Targeting Collectibles on: May 23, 2021, 06:14:31 PM
Thanks for sharing with the community, it's quite an important topic. Although this isn't a new scam method, it's pretty easy to mislead users here. Sometimes mind does not work instantly for all users. Especially those who aren't familiar with that kind of story would fall into this hack attempt easily. The hacker design hacking process cleverly, on the other end should be clever to save themselves from that hacking attempt. If just anyone thinks why I logged out once click that link even the link was a forum link then most likely they could realize what is going on. So, we have to use our brain always to prevent that kind of scam/hack. There is no alternative at all.
3357  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Argon - Fake Team on: May 23, 2021, 05:58:16 PM
I don't understand why they need to upload the generated photos, at a time when they can do without them at all.
Most probably they thought that can convince investors to believe it's a legit team and legit platform. To be honest I feel it's ok if there is no team member, which means the team is anonymous. Cryptocurrency is decentralized so doesn't require publishing the team photo. But using fake or AI-generated photos is an immediate red flag for me. Doesn't matter what was the motive behind using fake or AI-generated photos.

Keep it up OP and keep helping forum users.

The definition of what counts as "spam" is subjective person-to-person. That's why there's the ignore button. You can use it like a shadowban feature but just for yourself which stops people from crying censorship. It's amazing that a simple button can have so much utility for problems like this.
Not really, there is a clear definition.
Quote
spam
/spam/
See definitions in:
1. irrelevant or unsolicited messages sent over the internet, typically to a large number of users, for the purposes of advertising, phishing, spreading malware, etc.
Isn't the definition pretty clear? Hasn't that been happening in this forum? Sometimes I have seen a single user making 20 posts where he is sharing his referral link, malware, phishing links, and suspicious website links. I know moderators take action upon reporting such as case. But as OP said, how it would if the post not publish after reach a certain amount of posts with the same link within a certain time frame? I know it will not implement since there are many important things to implement. But the idea isn't so bad, and by using ignore button you just saving yourself from seeing unexpected posts. But it doesn't help the forum to prevent spam.
3359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Tweeting Power gone on: May 22, 2021, 05:54:13 PM
By the way, Elon Musk got another tweet a few hours ago and we saw how the market reacted. Bitcoin pumped around 1-2% after the tweet was published recently.
I saw this tweet, but I don't think it has any effects on the market. 1 or 2% nothing for Bitcoin, it would change within seconds. Doesn't necessarily consider that to happen due to his tweets. It's true many traders following him to get an advantage, but slowly his influence will reduce from the market if he can't set his mind. If he continues this kind of controversial tweet then very less people will follow him. He is trying to push Doge somehow and he succeeds as well. But if he expects the doge to surpass Bitcoin then he is a made. Doesn't matter either Tesla except for Bitcoin or not, but the matter is he is manipulating the markets and taking out billion dollars from here. That's the real concern. Hope soon his influence from the market will end but don't know when.
3360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and crypto is in trouble on: May 22, 2021, 05:17:02 PM
As I told previously, as long as BTC does not break the 40K zone then we can't say we are in a bear market. But seems last week it happened. To be honest this dump was expected since Bitcoin grow unexpectedly. On the other hand, all FUD news coming out at the same time like Tesla's decline to accept Bitcoin payments and China ban on mining and trading. However, what do you think why Bitcoin most popular in the crypto industry? Isn't volatility one of the main reason? If you say technical things then I will say most investors don't care about technology, they invest to get profit. It's their business, so don't worry about the current bear. Slowly traders will forget about FUD and the market will be recover as well.
