I have been looking to this link here: https://coin.dance/blocks and it shows that SegWit2x is approaching the 95% requirement to be implemented. However, devs of bitcoin-qt are against SegWit2x, and I use the bitcoin-qt program to access my wallet in my computer. Should I change the program in case the support reaches 95% as indicated in the site above? I have got the private keys using console commands in bitcoin-qt, so this would not be a problem. But if I send throughout bitcoin-qt will my bitcoins be safe after miners reach 95% consensus and the devs keep going against it? And what program I could use in place of bitcoin-qt, in case this might happen? As long as you have your private keys, your Bitcoins will be safe. You should be able to find a wallet you can import them in, if need be. In fact, if the chain splits, the coins you have at this moment will be on both chains. You will need to be careful about moving any bitcoins after the chain splits. I'm sure there will be plenty of solutions available within the month that will allow you to enjoy the coins on both chains and move them safely.

Will this free coin be POW only or a POW/POS hybrid? depends on the selected Settings from the winner. for me it make no difference between a full "d"pos coin with lets say static reward or any hybrid where you mix pos pow dpos Zero blocks and or just mineable by pow ... or Setup the shit that staking is only allowed for you / possible .. this makes maybe 10 minutes difference between "this or that" ... sure .. if you want each 10 blocks a different reward which make no sense and These reward structure for the next 25 years with a 3 seconds block time... this would Need more time.. but we should Keep realistic... and atleast i would let you know when your wishes turn from "fancy idea" into " waste my time" :-) If I were to win, what's the best way to ensure people won't complain, "I can't connect?" Would setting up two cheap VPS at Vultr be sufficient? Also, do I need to get a couple of domain names or will just the ip addresses work to hardcode the seednodes? Furthermore, will the setgenerate command still be available? This is handy if I want to generate a few blocks with a core or two before launch.

So the problem may not be there... Wait for Tonych announce for distribution round official end then contact him if you did not receive your BB.
I got my BB overnight while I slept. So there really was no problem. Thanks for trying to help though.

Is one of the acts of screwing something up changing my hub to west.byteball.us/bb? I did this days before the full moon but after I linked most of my BTC addresses, I believe.
You have to talk again to the transition bot if you moved to a hub other than the one you where on when you linked. I said hi several times. However, I now notice my transition bot's hub is byteball.org/bb, but my global is west.byteball.us/bb. I did get my bytes already though. Just waiting for BB. BB distribution is different. BB are sent to the hub the bot has seen you the last time to your attention. That's why you have to say "hi" to the bot if you moved to a new home hub since the last distribution. I'm confused by which hub it would have seen me on. My global is set to west.byteball.us/bb, but the bot is set to byteball.org/bb. Do I need to switch my global back to byteball.org/bb to get my BB? No necessarily. The first question is: what was your hub when you linked ? west.byteball.us/bb ? Probably byteball.org/bb. However, I must have communicated with the transition bot several times after I changed to west.byteball.us/bb. I even linked an additional address after switching my global hub.

ATM the majority of the markets on POLO are now in the green. Hope it's a reversal and not dead cats bouncing.

I'm just curious. If BTC forks on August the 1st, what chain will be referred to for distribution. UASF or legacy?

Hi everybody. To get some byteballs I need to have BTC on my wallet then? How is it working, can anybody give me a link how to do that?
Go to this site - https://byteball.org/Download the wallet and after downloading wallet you need to send your BTC address (Address from the wallet which you can sign a message) to the bot in a wallet then it will give you the instruction on how you need to verify your BTC wallet. If you do that once then next time you will receive airdrops automatically to this account. @MrMoneyShark, the transition Bot is down right now. You will need to wait until the last distribution is completed. Check back in a few days.

How come I never received my blackbytes?
I'm in the same boat. I got my bytes though, 2 days ago. Blackbytes always airdrops later. I also received my blackbytes just now, 3 days after gbytes. Same here. Last time I got mine almost after 6 days. Dont worry. If you got Bytes then you will definitely get Blackbytes, unless you screw up anything Is one of the acts of screwing something up changing my hub to west.byteball.us/bb? Anyone have any idea when they will add more S9? Also what will happen after the split. They will mine bitcoin or split coins?
There should be someone from hashnest to give answers on this thread or they don't care about the customers?
They rarely answer on this thread. However, Bitman agreed to the segwit2x agreement, so they should be on the fork that goes along with that agreement. Wu has also expressed displeasure with UASF, so they may not start mining segwit blocks on Aug 1st..

Wow, there are over 20K BTC available for loan offers on Polio. Guess few want to go long on bullshit.

Slightly off topic,
What others recommended altcoins that does similar bitcion linking for airdrops.
Thanks guys
Stellar and Bitcore. But you will find what you get is really meager, compared to this airdrop. Also, if you had BTC, LTE or DOGE back in 2014, you might be able to dig up some Clams.

I bought some byteball after the dump, not bad deal so far.
I'm thinking are there more coins like byteball with distribution to bitcoin holders?
Like stellar lumens as well?
But for stellar you should connect your bitvoin adresses to your facebook...
Brrrrrr....
There is Bitcore. But the amount you get is only equal to the amount of Bitcoins you had and can prove with signature back in late April. They are also doing a weekly airdrop, lately, but only for people who have balances in the top 1000 Bitcore addresses. Although I do like Bitcore, this distribution for Byteball seems a lot better. Wish that I gave this a chance months ago.

in a few days the bot said
Ok, why are some able to get in on this and some have to wait a few days?? sounds sketchy.. There is no bonus for doing it now, doing it a few days from now or doing it moments before the next snapshot.

So, you would want to see the word 'Scheduled' in bold cause you didn't see it in a normal font color?
You can't make everyone happy all the time. Keep making changes to be able to explain everything to everyone and you end up with a 50k page manual and a group of people to read and understand it. Seems like Obamacare then and still no one is happy with it.
By your own admission, the word "scheduled" is too vague. Clarifying that the snapshot will be taken of the next block solved after the full moon takes one sentence, not 50K pages.

I've been trying to set up a Witness by following https://gitlab.com/snippets/1548253#L64 but I'm stuck. 1. I'm not clear on these instructions (from the link above): The difference between a hub and relay is the exports.bServeAsHub = true or false, both a hub and relay need a port, and a hub only needs a myUrl - which is advertised when talking with other peers on the network so they can discover you.
So if I want a Witness, is this configuration correct? conf.jsexports.port = 6611; exports.myUrl = 'wss://myIPaddressHere/bb'; exports.bServeAsHub = true; exports.bSaveJointJson = true; exports.bLight = false;
2. If a Witness gets 1/12 of transaction fees, where do I enter my Byteball address which collects the fees? 3. Do any other files besides the root conf.js need to be edited if I want to run a Witness (not counting the nginx files)? My guess is to change one of the addresses in the conf.js file to your address. I believe it is advised to change the address that starts with JED because there can only be one "mutation" per block. So if everyone only changes this one address to theirs, it will not get rejected. exports.initial_witnesses = [ 'BVVJ2K7ENPZZ3VYZFWQWK7ISPCATFIW3', 'DJMMI5JYA5BWQYSXDPRZJVLW3UGL3GJS', 'FOPUBEUPBC6YLIQDLKL6EW775BMV7YOH', 'GFK3RDAPQLLNCMQEVGGD2KCPZTLSG3HN', 'H5EZTQE7ABFH27AUDTQFMZIALANK6RBG', 'I2ADHGP4HL6J37NQAD73J7E5SKFIXJOT', 'JEDZYC2HMGDBIDQKG3XSTXUSHMCBK725', //Change this address to yours 'JPQKPRI5FMTQRJF4ZZMYZYDQVRD55OTC', 'OYW2XTDKSNKGSEZ27LMGNOPJSYIXHBHC', 'S7N5FE42F6ONPNDQLCF64E2MGFYKQR2I', 'TKT4UESIKTTRALRRLWS4SENSTJX6ODCW', 'UENJPVZ7HVHM6QGVGT6MWOJGGRTUTJXQ' ]; I hope that I am being helpful since I haven't tried any of this myself. What deterred me from embarking on the project is for the following reason: You only share 1/12 of the transaction fees of the transactions that would go through your hub. You have to convince people to go through your hub, rather than the default. With the way this witness thing is setup, it's going to be quite the chore to get this decentralized. You can only have one mutation from the witness list per block. You would have to coordinate with all the other people running hubs to make this happen. Good luck.
