No.
3342  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: New Mac Pro mining speculation on: June 13, 2013, 02:02:03 AM
Absolutely 100% a stupid design, put together by someone who has no experience in the real mac pro world.
I.E video & audio........
<snip righteous rant>

The thing that irks me most is the lack of internal drive bays Sad Not happy about going to need to set up external drive chassis now. Really miss the extra drive bays in this design. My current one is stacked with 4 drives

1 boot + applications volume, 1 source assets volume, 1 projects volume, 1 additional applications and data volume. Don't like the fact I'm now going to need to have 3 of those 4 drives external. Use the RAID as archival and Time Machine backups as well as media server for video material.

On the network front, it's not so bad as long as you have an 802.11ad capable switch. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004OA721C/ (Cisco 8PORT Sg 200-08 SLM2008T-NA Gigabit Smart Switch) is what I use in my studio to link a few machines together and can't really complain about the speed.

My miner always switches back to low clock after he couldnīt contact the pool.

ASICMiner Block Erupter Blade ? Same thing happens to me Sad Every time the pool dies it resets back to Low Clock Sad

So you're saying it's more-or-less OK to throw money at these people ?
3345  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: June 12, 2013, 09:29:43 PM
I need help with stratum-proxy not connect blade to work

My command line is;

"mining_proxy -o mint.bitminter.com -p 3333"

I'm sure you can extrapolate if you mine elsewhere
3346  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: New Mac Pro mining speculation on: June 12, 2013, 05:27:55 PM
It is stated these will feature nVidia graphics, which are not known for good hashing performance anyway even with CUDA.

LOLWUT ?! Dude, the new Mac Pros are going to ship with Dual AMD Firepro W9000's. Combined hashing capability of 1GHs is not an unreasonable estimation.
3347  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Bitforce Not Registering on: June 12, 2013, 02:41:32 AM
Download zadig which will allow you to associate your devices with the winusb driver to allow cgminer to mine with them:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/zadig/
Make sure to only associate your mining device with WinUSB, not any other usb devices.
After I do this they become completely undetected.
And upgrade to cgminer 3.2.1

I have a Bitforce Single FPGA. Will WinUSB in Zadig auto detect BFL devices without needing to download a driver ? I'm still running an older version of CGMiner that inherently supports the FPGA as I've not gotten around to updating that one rig yet.
3348  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB Ready to Hash Everywhere in the World on: June 12, 2013, 02:35:20 AM
Is it me or do these things become insanely hot? :-) (over what's pleasant to pull & put into an other USB port)
I think I'm going to put an additional bigger heatsink on these...

Yeah, they do indeed get extremely hot to the touch. I would recommend having fans blowing on them.

I love these :: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XN24GY (ARCTIC Breeze Mobile USB-Powered 92mm Portable Fan)

I know who it is Smiley    Good work detectives.
well? do tell.

3350  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 4,568 remaining on: June 11, 2013, 06:56:46 PM
Yes. Each K16 with the DIY kit option and up will come with the parts necessary to stack.

This is awesome to hear ! Was just trying to figure out the physical logistics of where to organize 18 K16's.

I would guess the fully assembled and tested units will also ship with parts necessary to stack as well ?

 Cheers !
3351  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL or Avalon on: June 11, 2013, 05:35:37 PM
More baseless sweeping generalizations not even remotely founded in fact... Keep trying though. The more BFL ships, the angrier you idiots get. Why is that?
It's a simple extrapolation of future difficulty increases. No one who has received a BFL unit will mine more BTC than they spent purchasing the unit. They lost.

Apologies if I'm late to the party here, or got the memo a bit late, and I thought it was just coincidence in the past, but it's getting very hard not to draw direct links between the wrenchmonkey account and a certain someone we've all grown to love.

It's just getting uncanny now :|

3352  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: June 11, 2013, 04:46:33 PM
This might be a rather dumb question, but can this miner also be used to mine other currencies? Is it possible to mine for example LTC with this miner?

No. Only SHA256 based applications. LTC and most others use Scrypt.
3353  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What Exists? on: June 11, 2013, 04:26:39 PM
than an Erupter that can be bought today with US$ and received in a week?

Either an Erupter Blade or a USB Erupter are the only two ASIC products you can buy right now, and receive them within 3-5 days after sending payment.

Disclosure: AM Erupter Blade & USB owner, and shareholder on btc-tc.
3354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL or Avalon on: June 11, 2013, 05:30:42 AM
Bicknellski's desperation is so delicious, it's like ice cream.  He knows the bucks he dropped on Avalon are about to go *poof* in a puff of difficulty and is pathetically trying to stave off the inevitable.  He's pretty funny to watch, actually.  I mean, even going so far as to necro a 3 month old thread.

Does this not also mean that all the bucks everyone has dropped on BFL ASIC orders are about to go *poof* as well due to difficulty, if we are to follow your logic ?
3355  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I preordered a BFL Jalapeņo early February. Worth keeping, or sell on ebay? on: June 11, 2013, 01:40:13 AM
get a refund mate, or speculate, up to you. imo Don't bother with eBay- actually sold part of my pre-orders on eBay, couldn't with a clean conscience honestly let these guys who had given me their cash keep waiting, so I refunded them. Don't think it's worth the hassle.
Wait, wait, wait. You mean you made a contract, accepted payment for a product, then refunded the payment later? You took an interest free loan, and then later canceled and refunded orders against their will?
Oh damn! Better hope Xian and his lawyers don't see this! They might write letters to the attorney general! Cheesy
What you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Additionally, what have I ever done to you directly to so consistently draw your ire ? Your infatuation with me, is quite honestly, a little bit perturbing.
Remember how I'm allegedly on your ignore list? Oooops! :p

Thank you completely avoiding my question. Yes, you are on my ignore list. Doesn't mean I don't peek in on your inanity from time-to-time, when I need material to inspire my practice of rolling my eyeballs towards the back of my head.

*smootch and toodles*

Hate to break it to you, but Game of Thrones was a let down tonight.

Yeah, the last scene / the way they wrapped it up was so cliche. I mean really ? Ugh...

Can't wait for next season !!!
3359  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL creates new charity project to donate 1000 BTC to [ROFL!] on: June 10, 2013, 04:36:14 AM
Is Butterfly Labs registered as a business entity? And in what state? Didn't come up in a Kansas search.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=48863.msg619440#msg619440

"Corporate registry - The company is a 'C' corp registered in the state of Wyoming as BF Labs Inc.  Why Wyoming when you're not based there?  Mostly due to it's favorable tax and legal climate.  Operating in the same state of incorporation exposes the company to additional tax liabilities.  You might also find it interesting to know that the majority of US domiciled fortune 500 companies are either Delaware or Wyoming corporations for these same reasons.  Intel is a good example."
3360  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What ASIC horse are you backing? on: June 09, 2013, 08:05:01 PM
All of them. The more people we have producing ASICs, the more everyone benefits.
