3341  Local / Pilipinas / Re: 24 hours challenge bitcoin use only sa boracay. on: December 10, 2022, 05:33:54 AM
(https://twitter.com/BitcoinIslandPH/status/1597567694219669504)
Namamangha ako sa marketing strategy nila at pati mga major establishments ay natanggap na rin ng payment through crypto using pouch. Ni-check ko yung tweet na yan, so most likely kayang kaya mong magsurvive sa Boracay kung wala kang cash at crypto lang dahil from accommodation to foods kayang kaya mo magbayad through crypto.

Nag Google Meet ako actually with the ones from Pouch.ph last time. Was planning to collaborate with them dahil mag simula na kasi ako mag spearhead the adoption and awareness of Web3 sa Visayas islands kahit walang sponsors or backers. Wala kasi mag step up eh, so I’m taking the challenge.

I already started this campaign last August sa Cebu at tuloy2x every month, then expanding to Bacolod and other parts of Visayas starting this month.

Maybe February or March 2023, mag host ako Web3 meetup dun sa Bora in partnership with them.
3343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 09, 2022, 12:19:30 PM
This do really boggles up our mind on how the heck that 2000's boxing fight been recalled now with those issues.Even that referree is trying out to wreck Pacquiaos reputation but it is really that too late
considering that he had already retired. Wrecking up his reputation is useless, it did really sure get some attention but we us fans wont really be bothered up that much with this issue.
Its already over and trying out to say about cheating then it wont really something major that will affect on the image that he had built up for decades.
Well for some but not really that a major thing.
Maybe that's only his conscience and he just wants to speak of what happened. I can't blame him but if he's got that motive, it's too late for him to correct that one and both fighters won't feel anything with it because it's too long already.

If we watch the fight closely,  there is no cheating on part of Manny Pacquiao, instead there are lots of dirty tactics that Hussein has used against Manny.  Hussein disqualification is actually due but the referee is too lenient and did not do it until the fight is stopped due to deep cut on the eye of Hussein.

Anything about cheating has nothing to do with Manny because he is just a boxer who is doing his best to win the fight.  With the knockdown, its been explained during that Wilder and Tyson  match that there is no 10 sec. knockdown count rule, how long the count is on the referee's discretion while assessing the boxer if he can still continue or not.  In addition as the earlier replies stated, Manny stand up even before the 10 sec expires.

So literally, there is no cheating in the fight at all.  I don't understand what happened and Carlos Padilla had stated that they help Manny to win the fight.
The cheating was said on the referee's part because he said that he has helped Manny through slow counting. And on the opponent's side, he said that there's an investigation about counting and he said that he's slow and based on his counting, it should have been 16 seconds already if I'm right and recall what I've watched correctly. Whether there will be investigations and arguments being done about that fight, it wouldn't make sense anymore.

Exactly, that motivates referee Padilla to just come out in the open and admit that he deliberately make Manny win his fight against Hussein?

It's kinda late though, and why wait when Manny has retired? is he  really protecting Manny that much that he was silence all this years when Manny is fighting at a pro level? Doesn't really make sense for us for Padilla's revelation. He should have bury this one already.
And maybe he thinks that Manny should feel indebted to him because if it's not for his help, Manny won't reach what he's got now. Well, I beg to differ.
3344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 09, 2022, 11:10:45 AM
I haven't tried it yet but maybe just for fun I'd love to do it but in all seriousness, maybe I'll take its prediction, and maybe not. It's still on me to decide whether I'll take the prediction as my sole decision if I think that we're in line with what's with my analysis.
But if there's really one that has established its name and proven to be effective, then casinos might ban the use of it.
3345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does the bitcoin community currently trust Tether? on: December 09, 2022, 03:16:57 AM
Since you've said about comfortability, I'm not comfortable holding assets in USDT and that's why I don't hold any of it. And if I want to have a stablecoin, I've got another preference for it. Maybe it could be USDC, BUSD, or DAI. Yeah, the two are also centralized but that's it.
If that's just a preference, I'd rather have any of the two than to have it on USDT.
3346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: nano ledger - staking? on: December 09, 2022, 01:26:21 AM
thanks. why do you guys think staking isnt profitable?
I'm not saying it isn't profitable. It is profitable in a manner that the more capital or money you stake, the more satisfying profit you'll get from those percentages you see.
That's why you can already foresee how much you will likely earn from staking because of the APYs that are given for each of those coins. But, you have to remember that the market is volatile and if you're computing based on their $$$ value, it will eventually change.

I guess because you cant sell whenever you want? I do intend to hold the coins for longer
You can withdraw and sell anytime, as long as it's not a locked contract.

3348  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: December 09, 2022, 12:26:30 AM
Di natin alam yung pwede mangyari sa future pero I'm hoping na kahit isang bull market lang ulit itagal nila is ok nako since mag liliquidate nako ng assets by that time for sure haha.

3349  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Top whales shake out and fuds starting with xrp 3 fuds on: December 08, 2022, 11:56:41 PM
I wondering do really people belive bad news it's clear that bad news are there to just scare retail traders.
Sadly yes. If it's news that has been verified and tends to be a bad one, why wouldn't they believe it if it's a real thing that has happened? But, as we know in the market, when there is news being spread to give everyone the thought of being scared then it's up to you whether you'll allow them to scare you or you will use that moment so that you can buy. That's how it goes in this market, either you'll be the one to take advantage or you'll be the one that will be taken advantage of due to the news that they cascade down.

Why post it on the Speculations for altcoins if you're asking what's the speculation of most for bitcoin?

What guarantees we have btc not going very low like 100$ ??
99.99%

Can btc go Even like 50$
Yes but, not anymore. Let's take it as highly unlikely and far from happening.

Becouse everybody knows that Market Will crash hard soon very bearish out look now for btc
The market had crashed already but going from where bitcoin is right now, even if the bear pulls it down. The lowest that someone can think of is around $10k and not $50 or $100.

If today btc start falling what price is good to buy ?
At your most convenient price, whatever it is.

It can fall to 1000$ or lower why not ? What's stop btc to fall down like 20$-50$ ?
We are no longer in the early days and there has something to do with the mining difficulty and block reward. The cost of mining a bitcoin, you've got to take that into consideration.
3351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: How to hire web3 developers? on: December 08, 2022, 10:58:17 PM
There are dedicated groups that I've seen that are focusing on web3 and they're encouraging people to start their careers as web3 developers or anything related to web3.
That's the easiest way to hire someone that wants to get into web3 and start working with any company that they want. The exposure there is better because you already have no problem with the niche there because everyone is started on it and you can find developers from here and there.
3352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 08, 2022, 10:25:40 PM
It's a problem a lot of teams sit with.  Just good enough or mediocre enough to land the 7 or 8 slot in the playoffs but not good enough to win.  Downside is never being able to land a top tier prospect always drafting 10-20.  Utah is a tough place yo land a Marque star so they rely on drafting well.  I hate tanking but I think that is their plan.  They can't win long term with this team they have.
Good observation for Utah and the same goes for the other teams, that's how really might it is. Because we've been seeing those teams that aren't expected to be at the top currently yet they're making it. And I guess the hype and expectation for Zion are making the team very well and accurate from the thoughts of most fans.

They are not at the bottom though. They are currently sitting at #6 and were in the top 1 before they suffer some injuries. I do not think that is a team that will lose in the first round if all the pieces are healthy. I do not expect them to go all the way to the WCF or NBA Finals because, after all, they are rebuilding. But getting to the playoffs is a good experience for their young players. It is a good foundation for future endeavours and when their team is complete, it will serve them well.
because the Lakers have a very poor performance in developing players or waiting long enough for a player to reach his potential.
Well, they've snatched the game against GSW and they did well even if within the last 20 seconds, Clarkson was ejected. For the past seasons, they've always been that good but can't make it to the finals so I think that's what usually it is.
3353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create wealth first before the use of bitcoin on: December 08, 2022, 09:57:13 PM
I am also a non-rich person and my purpose when investing in bitcoin is to find financial stability as well as increase my wealth in the future, so I think anyone can invest without having a stable financial situation. But we need to understand investing in bitcoin is not to get rich quickly and it still carries some risks. So make sure you only invest what you can lose, don't borrow or use the money you can't lose to invest in bitcoin.
Many newbies think that investing in bitcoin will make them instantly rich. I've talked to a friend of mine who's a seafarer and thought that it's that easy to become rich by just buying bitcoin. I've told him that it's not like that, he's living in a rural area and that's why he's striving to work hard so that he'll be financially well and free when he gets older because he knows that he just can't work forever and everyone will grow older soon.
This is what's good with bitcoin, everyone is able to invest, and there's no qualification needed. As long as you know how to buy, you have the budget for buying and you'll just have to keep it in your wallet and you're good. But never forget a wallet where you should keep it is where you're holding the private keys.
3354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal hand to hand with Cryptos on: December 08, 2022, 09:22:53 PM
I think the news is specific to the Luxembourg people because as you've said and it's known that PayPal have also included crypto 2 years ago. And it's just like integrated support to crypto with their services and as they launch, you can't send and receive and withdraw crypto directly on your PayPal but are only allowed to trade, buy and sell within their platform. But, this is good news then for those people that are in the UK. They're expanding and if so, PayPal is missing a lot of market on this one since Binance and other exchanges have been there.
If we do try to make out some comparison in between BInance and Paypal then we could really see those big and significant differences which it would really be normal that Paypal couldnt really allow or do make it that
way.Yes, you could buy up some crypto but we do all know that it cant really be transfer directly into other wallets and you do really just do able to make out some traders or conversion internally.
Well, whatever news that do really correlates or connected about recognition or expanding out crypto thing into certain country will always be a good news.
It is really just there are things which we dont really like to deal off with.
PayPal is just too late on it but it doesn't mean that they're not allowed to get into their ventures by adopting crypto on their own platform. The small exchanges are even trying to compete and still got some customers, but they're already established and expanding more.
Well, they should be worried if their competitors like Wise and other the same service that focuses more on fiat starts to get into crypto as well. That's a big competition there not just with the typical crypto exchanges but also with the usual payment processors that we used to know.
3355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 08, 2022, 08:55:56 PM
Still a shock to me that we are seeing Utah playing the way they can. I honestly expected them to be the type of team that would start 2-20 and then finish the season with like 20-62 type of results, or 24-58 whatever, like not more than 30 wins at all. By the looks of it they are on the path to do that. Is this good? Or is this actually bad for them?

Obviously this is good for the Jazz at this point, they didn't tank and winning games and the numbers, we all thought that they will not make it because they overhaul their roster, but it's the opposite.
I think of it as something not that good at all. When they've been playing well at the beginning and then get to have some curb in the midst of it. Anyway, they are still playing well and what's not good is for the teams that are at the bottom, they'll surely be removed when the playoffs will come. What was that round again like the wild card before the playoffs? IIRC, there's that type of round and it's before the actual elimination of the teams, I've forgotten what it's called with the format.

~ ~ ~
It's boring these days because it's not profitable anymore unlike before. They're too late to implement the burning mechanisms and it should have been done before when they've got millions of daily active users.

The dev keeps sending out updates, but nothing is getting delivered. We are back to square one with no improvement. It will never attract a new audience.
Axie won't be as big in 2021. They can not repeat history anymore
So yeah, don't expect too much from them because they always disappoint.
Yeah, it's all about the PR and they did well on that. But about the actual thing and updates, they really never sent the best ones that have been suggested to them when they're still at their peak.
Well, there are still some players in there because of the ranking rewards but if they change that soon and they keep on delaying it then for sure that those players will leave unless they are really eager to play the game. I have already accepted that it will never reach back the peak that it has got last bull season.

With regards to the alleged cheating told by referee Padilla about helping Pacquiao to win his match against Nedal Hussein. I've watched an episode of KMJS a popular magazine show here in the Philippines. He said that he didn't feel anything about cheating there and it's not on him because he's just doing his job as a boxer. Whilst for Hussein, he's got some feeling that he's been cheated and as well as Manny. He's not blaming Manny on it but the referee himself, well, both have moved on already from that issue.

It will not change anything though, Manny still our favorite boxer as he brings honor to our country, as a referee who has a clean conscience, he should have expose that early. I'm just curious, after how many years, why did he expose it now? What's his intention on doing that?
While the issue has been called for, these two boxers that are involved didn't think of it that much. But the attention that the referee did was greatly noticed by the world.
I don't also understand the motive of the referee for why telling it late. He should have said that earlier when he's still credible at that time but who knows, if he just wants to have the attention or he took it for so many years and it's a sigh to him when he's said that.

3360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The goodness of long-term investing in cryptocurrency on: December 08, 2022, 09:56:36 AM
Long-term is ideal with most but short terms are more likely with the newbies because they're at the learning stage and after experiencing it, they'll summarize and have a conclusion that long-term investments are really the best choice.
Yeah, it's not a risk-free strategy but you're able to mitigate the risk and you can mend some of your losses depending on how you'll react to the market based on what it is currently showing. Needless to say, on a personal note, long-term did me well and thought me how to become disciplined in investments.
Newbies due to their lack of knowledge prefer short term trading over long term investing, and they have this preference because of the higher profits they can supposedly get by trading, but what they choose to ignore is that only a very small minority of traders get those profits while the rest get losses, and it is not until they begin to lose money they realize their mistake and then they try to switch to long term investing,
Yeah, they think of the market as a short term market only so they want to extract as much as they can with as soon as possible mindset. They think that the market is going nowhere so if there's a chance that they can make money from it, they want to take the advantage of having that mindset of being short term on it.

however after losing so much money when trading the markets it is difficult for them to hold their coins for long enough to get profits in this market.
It's because they're panicking and they're still at the beginning that they need to gain more experience so, they know what's happening in the market and it's going to recover soon.
