3341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How can I get trade signal to make more profit? on: June 20, 2021, 05:30:09 AM
They don't want to learn and experience what they can get in the trade by paying for a certain group, it's greedy, of course and they don't want big losses so that beginners pay a signal group that can be said to be premium even though it doesn't necessarily make him rich fast even though join.
Making a profit just paying people is the same as fooling yourself, I think it's more useful what we use, profit or loss, it's normal, but that experience can be used as motivation on how to analyze the correct coin.
Being greedy, yes but more to that not losing even a single penny while risking everything thought. Most newbie traders will have the mindset of not losing, but the truth is that losing is a part of learning.

Now sinister people know that there will be traders looking for "premium picks" and similar worded phrases that just mean the same thing. So they run these scams named as signal groups and rip off people by asking them a membership fee to join. That is their earning and while some bamboozled newbie might think they paid for the knight's holy grail, they essentially got looted of that money.

But these will keep on running because there will always be a fresh influx of foolish newbies who keep doing this.
3342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your trading strategies ? on: June 19, 2021, 05:45:09 AM
It seems most amateur traders are swing traders buying spot- to 10x to catch an about 10% move but the most successful traders are probably doing something else.

Quote
How do you trade ? Does someone has reliable info on the strategies of the most successful solo traders ?
It is mostly spot trading that solo traders rely on. Some of them are using indicators and going crazy over the numbers for day trading and using their methods to automate a bot. However that is still more risky than what spot is.

Indicators are good, but they came from the stock markets, they are more applicable in a regulated market which runs for a fixed numbers of hours per week. Unlike crypto whose market runs 24x7x365. Hence going with them is going to end up in a 50-50 profit/loss situation here.

Arbitrage - used to be the case some fives years back or so. Dont think it is applicable much when most exchanges have prices almost same. Someone might have something to say about it, does not make it correct. Depends on your personal choice.

Probably the safest strategy currently is to buy at low like if bitcoin drops to 20k or even 10k and then selling it at twice or thrice the buying price. Cycle it, while keeping the range of the cycle varying and you have a solid money return from each cycle.
3343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would the ideal cryptocurrency ecosystem be like? on: June 19, 2021, 05:36:07 AM
It is comparable to a democratic society. One does not have absolute control and they do not dictate what others will do, I consider that as a healthy co-existential system.

Ideally governments would allow crypto trading freely and observe transactions to catch money launderers. Altcoin or no altcoin does not change the ideals, they are only methods to use crypto and people are free to use them.

However, if your target is to make a profit from the market, then either smart contracts or DeFi will not help you. One needs to put their money in bitcoin and the top few altcoins and keep them stockpiled for future selling. That is the best method to profit. Hence the "ecosystem" gets skewed towards bitcoin for the ones who will survive for long.
3344  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet help Please on: June 19, 2021, 05:31:47 AM
Hi I set up a Electrum Wallet/ default_wallet  years back and lost the password How Do I get a password retrieval to get into my Wallet?

Did you lose the password needed to encrypt the wallet, the one that is asked when you try to open the wallet?

Or did you lose the seed phrase?

If you are talking about the first one, then you can use the seedphrase (assuming that you did not lose that) to set up the wallet on a different system and set up a new encryption password there.

If you lost the seedphrase, then  there is very little chance that you would be able to recover the wallet.
You can try the services on this site :https://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/

It is run by one of the forum members and is trusted among the users in the forum. But there is no guarantee that they will be able to recover the seedphrase.

Suggesting moving the topic to "Electrum" subsection.
3345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Risks from large financial institutions entering the crypto market . on: June 18, 2021, 07:01:05 AM
We're not seeing what would really happen in the future but most likely, it was not the worse thing I saw, I'm thinking about more market adoption than of today.
We should stop thinking too much about what will happen in future about this. Reason being that we humans tend to go for negative outcomes more than positive outcomes while in reality both can happen but mostly it is a positive outcome. So instead of worrying over whether some big institution will bring about the full control over crypto and make every crypto holder a pauper, lets keep it on the bright side.

We increasing pressure on governments to start allowing crypto a legal tenders, there will be a paradigm shift in the upcoming years about the sentiment about crypto. I am expecting a boom to happen in this sector in the next decade. That means more money for older adopters and therefore one should theoretically keep stockpiling more bitcoin.
3346  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Louvre Finance --Plagiarism whitepaper on: June 18, 2021, 06:54:01 AM
I wonder where they "cum" up with these names from. Grin One scamcoin copying another shitcoin's writing.

Seriously speaking if you have a legit project to run you would think of more professional names. But a copied whitepaper only points to a scam. Add in the anonymous nature of the project and you have a cesspool of shitcoin defi projects that run along the same lines and scam people.

Flag supported from my end. I hope any newbie reading this wakes up their dead brain to think logically again and not invest in the same.
3347  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binomo and cryptocurrency on: June 17, 2021, 05:33:01 AM
Binary options is no different from gambling your money. If that is what you are looking for then by all means use it.

But if you are new to gambling please know that the company running it would not exist if it was possible for every person to win a huge money because then the company would go bankrupt. You might find some people posting affiliate links to these apps saying that they make a lot of money in binary options but in reality it is all a disguised scam.

Guys, I heard that Binomo started working with cryptocurrency.
So to answer you in short, they did not start "working" with it but allowing it as deposits for playing on their site.

Quote
Do you think it is worth the risk to work with Binomo?
You wont "work" with them. You bet on their markets. And you will lose money if you are going for it more than what you will make.
3348  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] CryptoCoin - Fake Team on: June 17, 2021, 05:25:22 AM
The account posting this was created in February, same time as this domain was registered and started posting about this project in this forum. Funny they even managed to run their site for this long four months.

Stock images point only to a scam and they give the excuse that they are using the images as placeholders because the "real team" did not get time for a photoshoot yet, well then they are lazy because it means they have been sleeping for the last four months.

Opening a flag on the accused for the same. - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2768
3349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best strategy to stay anonymous with crypto? on: June 16, 2021, 06:37:37 AM
The first and foremost step is to never buy cryptocurrency from centralized exchanges, that is where most of your privacy data gets leaked. Then we can use VPN or TOR to avoid our traces on internet but my suggestion is TOR since even most of the VPN tracks our data and sell them as well.
A bit extreme there with the craze of privacy. Honestly speaking you cannot be so anonymous that you can hide all your tracks - because if that was true then criminals would not be caught by FBI once a while and put in jail. Obviously they will make have left some tracks.

There is no harm in buying from a centralized exchange if that exchange operates from your country and you have been KYC-approved. If you are looking forward to launder money then this is not the case, in which case you will be caught one day.

The whole point of "remaining anon" with crypto started when some people wanted to use this freedom as fiefdom.
They dont wan to listen to the law and do as they wish, but trust me, majority of users here are law abiding ones - at least they sleep well at night knowing that they are not doing anything illegal.

As for what the OP said, Bitcoin itself is as we say pseudo-anon. There is no harm with that. Go with Monero if you are too conscious about privacy. But I would not spend money on it. Any group which advocates use of its system because is gives "more" privacy is likely feeding on your fear of being caught. Dont let that happen.
3350  Economy / Economics / Re: Amateur Traders Cause Bubbles on: June 16, 2021, 06:30:47 AM
If it was always "new money needed to keep increasing the price" then we would be a ponzi scheme and whenever new money didn't come then it would crash and burn, but we had many moments when new people didn't join and we were still doing fine, all within ourselves. So do not be worried if new people do not come constantly, we will be fine.
It is defenitely not a ponzi, what I meant was that new meat in the market is a good thing for the whales to dump on. Whales are out there to cash in and cash out, not for the long term support of the project.

It could be the case, considering how they were controlled by the media, the accumulation of their action can become a trend but would they last if they can be manipulated? they could lose the game.
Without regulation, a market is going to be manipulated once people see that the pump and dump is easy. Besides organic growth in price an inorganic growth is very common here. The effect of the media is evident on the market. These things are to be kept in mind for any trader. Does not mean they have to follow social media, but its effects on the market, yes.

Even newbie trader wannabes know that "the trend is your friend" and it's counterproductive to piss against the wind.
LOL nice analogy there, you would not want to get your pants wet. Cheesy But you can sell when the price is rising, does that go against the trend? Being with the trend means doing what others are doing, meaning buying when everyone is buying. Am I missing your thought here?
3351  Economy / Economics / Re: Amateur Traders Cause Bubbles on: June 15, 2021, 05:42:54 AM
we all knew that Newbies are very rare in this market and they are not entering in Bulk instead there are very few of them that will invest and they are not even capacitated in making a bubble.
Newbies are the ones who take the fall in the whale game. If there is no new money coming in then how to do you explain the increasing market capitalization of bitcoin or for that sense altcoins too?

The growing interest in crypto added with the news media's sudden change of stance from "Why you should not invest in bitcoin" to "10 reasons for investing in bitcoin" - does bring in a lot of newbie meat into the market. Those who are unable to buy gold or stocks will try something alternative and the answer quickly ends up in bitcoin.

Point is that the whales need a place to dump their shitload. So the newbies are the ones. If they dont do the FOMO/FUD the cycles will become slowed. Lack of prior trading knowledge or knowledge of speculative markets makes them susceptible to manipulated markets.
3352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Goes Down From a Celebrity on: June 15, 2021, 05:31:59 AM
Just use it to your advantage, if you know that they can  influence the market then follow them and look out for the cryptocurrencies that they are going to promote and invest in it and try to make a profit out of it.
Agreed but this does not apply to the majority of the traders. The reason whales are able to make money is because a big chunk of "traders" are newbies who fall for market traps like these and the whales cash in or cash out on them. This becomes evident in the market once the FUD/FOMO starts and now the bitcoin price is crossing 40k USD again.

Not every trader is actually able to use the opportunity and therefore the outcry that happens. But to be in this game, I suggest newbie traders to learn from these events that crypto price manipulation is common and easy to do since there is a buyer/seller group always out there to move it.

Putting more importance to social media only has bad effects, this is an example of the same.
3353  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto trading vs Forex trading on: June 14, 2021, 05:45:54 AM
And main thinks is that crypto will give much overnight but forex trading not to do it.
Did it never occur to you that the opposite thing thought will come to the mind of a seasoned forex trader when asked whether they want to go with crypto trading vs forex trading?

Because this is a apples vs oranges comparison. One who has already put years into something will not look for another method if they are well versed in the first one. This is a bitcoin forum and therefore the answer will be biased towards crypto. Ask the same question on a forex trading forum - you will see the difference.

i think both are like the same, if you want to profity, you must play in whatever have more volability as day trader
If you want to find volatility you have many altcoins to choose from. The difference is not there. You have to go with whichever you have prior experience in. If you are newbie go with whichever interests you more or has no known legal problems in your country.
3354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether FUD on: June 14, 2021, 05:33:43 AM
Could it possibly bring down Bitcoin if Tether implodes?
Depends on your perspective of what "bringing down" means. It is not a war of currencies out there but they are all trying to coexist and they will coexist with time because this is a democracy and not an autocracy. Currently the only use I see for tether and other stablecoins is that they can be an intermediary for dollar-cost-averaging when trading at market highs or lows.

Other than that it is a fiat-pegged currency created to be a stablecoin. If there any future in it? Possible if their devs can think of something new to do with it.

Quote
Even Vitalik has expressed concerns about Tether and he doesn't fuck around
Completely your own choice to believe in it or not. Like I said, free speech is allowed and you have to use your own knowledge to determine risks and rewards.
3355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Goes Down From a Celebrity on: June 14, 2021, 05:29:42 AM
Bitcoin responds to market forces I think
It is a speculative asset and therefore subject to market risks. I am sure the people investing in bitcoin not for the technology but for the profits have had read those "legal documents" carefully.

Sarcasm aside, bitcoin became an asset for holding money and therefore getting the attention of people who wish a new store of value beyond gold and metals. Now if someone manipulated the price, the effects will be seen and without a regulating body these effects are prominent and prone to create a public outcry. People who became influenced by them are the ones who will cry though. This is the effect of FOMO and brings in a negative outlook towards crypto, sadly nothing can be done by any of us since the ones who are having bigger influence will dominate.

A good thing that disgruntled traders can do is to stop following social media for news on crypto and people who tend to speak too much than they can about crypto. Do your own research about it and then invest, dont listen to others to buy/sell, rather do the opposite, sell when they say buy. Grin
3356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How i define scam project? on: June 13, 2021, 06:12:55 AM
Not necessary,,, I see community members as two distinct people.

Token buyers and Users.
I get your point. But I still dont agree that the two groups of members are mutually exclusive. There will be overlapping because everyone had to "buy-in" to get a portion of the tokens - the similarity with equity comes from this. But they dont have any legal control over the project - the dissimilarity with equity comes here.

Well there are some projects that have well written whitepaper but still end up scam, Always check team members if its legit or real person. Most of the time a project with real team will have less chance of scam.
That well written whitepaper may very well be copy pasted from another project. So checking that is always going to be a proper method to determine scam or not.

Team members true, but advisors are the ones who need to be contacted personally on linkedin and so. Create an account on linkedin if you are serious about it and check their accounts, PM them about the project and their thoughts on in.

Sometimes you might find a surprised reply that they never heard of the project till date and they were using the advisors name on their site without permission. Grin another sign of a scam.

Also check the "phone number" and "address" usually posted in the footer. Recently I cam across a group of websites which were MLM scams and were using different domain names but the same phone number on all the sites.
3357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Hope Impoverished Nations Become A Bitcoin Network on: June 13, 2021, 06:03:08 AM
I also hope so, because if poor countries become a bitcoin network, slowly their economy will improve, because of the many benefits that can be obtained from bitcoin, poor countries must take steps like el salvador which has legalized bitcoin.
My friend, how to you expect countries where even a flick of electricity is like a heavenly thing to start accepting bitcoin already? I appreciate the fact that they started using bitcoin as legal tender but that does not change the fact that these countries are poor. Bitcoin will not solve the poverty. They need to feed themselves first and for doing that they need fiat as a ground level currency that they can acquire without any electronic device and use without another gizmo.

Point is that these poor communities have been manipulated by certain people of power for their own gains. While this is a bad sign, nobody really understands the situation of those poor people from living elsewhere and only reading a news article.

IMF seems to be going against their decision, how much importance their side carries is important here. These organizations are not there just to make a mockery of themselves and take part in some idiotic "world domination program" - that bullshit is made up by idiots only. There is a certain legal concern here as to how the poor people are being misused here.
3358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Hope Impoverished Nations Become A Bitcoin Network on: June 12, 2021, 05:24:28 AM
Not Nigeria mate, they are currently not giving off any positive vibes about crypto adoption but yes some countries where the economy has been poorer compared to others seen to be have been the first in adopting bitcoin as a legal tender.

But none of us are economists at this forum, whether this is being orchestrated by a certain group of people for some specific needs or gains is not understood. For traders and long time hodlers this is good news but it it worth watching how other countries are going to progress about this. Whether their country is acting as a haven for tax evaders and whether they are using this to liquidate their holding is debatable.

"Showing support" for them - I dont really think that is the option for common people to do. In many countries the pandemic is still going on. Coming down on streets to show support happened in many countries but good luck with that.

You can support bitcoin by using it, no need to be vocal about it.
3359  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ITETRY Invest in your Future 🔥--Plagiarism whitepaper on: June 12, 2021, 05:15:03 AM
I have nothing to do with this project, the topic is customized, I am not responsible
Yes you are, you designed the ANN thread and even after getting to know that the project is a scam, which you may have overlooked at first look, you still did not take any steps to amend your mistakes. What you can do is take down the thread and post an apology in its place that the project is a scam, advising others to stay away from it.

But I dont see any of that done till now. Already your account has two negative trust ratings.

Previously many innocent designers have been falling prey to such scams too, they redeemed their mistakes by severing ties with the project and taking down the threads. They will no longer seen with contempt anymore. You could do the same and save yourself from getting flagged next at which point any other "legitimate" project will not longer be willing to work with you.
3360  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] FORBIT.LTD on: June 11, 2021, 06:05:11 AM
Site is a scam. They are running a bunch of different domains with the same site design. Doing a little bit of searching on the engines and you can find out a lot of similar phone number and texts on the following sites too. Get ready for DeJa Vu if you visit the sites mentioned below:
Code:
https://www.swapethereum.com/

LMAO -
Code:
Our Founder:
BIT PROVIDENT LTD is Co-Founder and CEO of BIT PROVIDENT LTD.
< is this a joke? Where did Bitprovident come here from the blue?

Code:
https://cryptrium.io/about.php
a scam site running for the legitimate project called crypterium (CRPT).

Code:
https://www.zontrade.com/about

I am sure there are more sites out there copying the same text, all of these are scams. The fact that one becomes interested on hearing that they "won" is the trick they use to fool people.
