My inbox is exploding with reports. I'm getting hundreds each day.
How many of them are mine? Not bothering with it anymore though, unless its morning when you have to "remind" the patrollers.
@OP this has been discussed more than 6 times by now, one example

Yeah they just posted more of them in hardware.

I won't bother to remind the mods as it looks like too many of us are doing that.

go hard wired. your wi fi sucks.

Sounds blunt and nasty ,but wi fi can be like that.  A neighbor could be interfering with the wifi signal.

You could turn off everything in your  place and still have a bad signal.  The Apt next to you may be interfering with the wi-fi.

My home needs 3 wi fi routers to have okay coverage.  My home is not big, but there is a lot of interference.
33443  Other / Meta / Re: what is with the flood of bogus spam posts? on: December 21, 2015, 08:32:51 PM
The past few days I've seen a ton of bogus posts from brand new users that are just basically random words thrown together.  What gives?  I've seen this on other forums before, but never here...

At least my "report to moderator" finger has been getting a workout Tongue

you and me both I must have reported 15 or 20 of them.

AWESOME WORK!  This will be perfect for what I need.

I mailed it out to you.  I have many more photos.  It all fits in a padded flat rate envelope

fans are outside mount  holes not cut

fans are inside mount holes not cut

same as above.  you do not need to do this push pull if you use the 38mm scythe fans they will cool the 2x psu's off even when doing 17 amps or 4080 watts.
So you can mount 1 set of fans.  this mount system cost me under 3 bucks.  I used all parts in the home. I did need to buy a cheap replacement cutting board so the wife stays happy!

proper hole saw size is 4 inches  for a 120mm fan

cutting holes

two holes cut ready to assemble

two fans on inside mount

fan is mounted inside note only 1 screw is holding base to mount I have provided 3 screws.

the base has an aluminum plate to protect the wood under it
fans are not supposed to be on both sides this is just to show you can do either side of the mounting plate

3 long screws with washer attach the plate to the base.
and of course you would mount the fans on one side not both I did that to show you have a choice of sides

breaks down and fits in a flat rate padded envelope
33445  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Group Buy for (50) S7's at 2.53 btc each on: December 21, 2015, 06:30:28 PM
thats a lot of work for $5 per unit. which is a joke of a discount anyways. what is that .0034% or something.

Actually it is a 0.5 BTC or $220 per unit price break

you can buy 1 unit for 2.54 btc  so it is not much off for buying 50

33446  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Large review of Finksy/J4bbrwock server psus compared to ATX psu- photos up on: December 21, 2015, 06:00:27 PM
I did a mount system for nhando.

the clear plastic j4bbrwock /finksy mount plate is set over a  cutting board from a dollar store

x marks where I use a hole saw and you can see the nylon screws with black nuts that will hold 2 fans down the road

A 120mm fan

two fans mounted

a shot of the base.  note rubber feet will cut vibration down.

mounting plate with fans and it is attached to the base

here is finksy/j4bbrwock on the right and my mount is on the left

note this is fan overkill  as the 38mm are good engouh to keep psu cool at 4000watts

Do not buy.

High custom tax (in europe).

Very short warranty (3 months).

Very poor customer care.

Miners may break after a few months.

Couldn't agree more.

They actually pump the invoice more so you pay even higher custom taxes

They don't care about customers at all, all they care is they make profits

The build quality of the miners is awfull, it's a machine worth 100-200$ not 1500 $

Bitmain's support SUCKS big time !!!

I received the S5+ (7.7T SUPPOSEDLY) at the beginning of September and I immediately opened a support ticket (5th of Sep.) because the results I got with the miner were AWFUL !
I was waiting for 10+ days for a single reply, and each time their reply was asking me "did you do this, did you do that" although I explained in details what I've done, so they were obviously just stalling.
This took like 3 months of Q & A , going into circle with the same questions over and over , to finally notice that beginning December they CLOSED the ticket like it's been solved!!! I re-opened the ticket 10 days ago - and guess what - NO reply yet !!!

They didn't offer ANY solution for the whole time !!!
They tried to put the blame on the PSU's, so I bought 3 new 1600w PSU's  !!! For nothing !!!
I'm still getting like more than 70.000 HW errors per day showing 6.5T at the max Angry

THE WORST COMPANY WITH THE WORST SUPPORT !!! *E*V*E*R* ! ! !

Hw's are caused for a lot of reasons's if you were to lower your freq they should reduce.

What is your current freq setting?

33452  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 18 to Jan 1 diff thread setup picks closed. on: December 21, 2015, 12:32:40 PM
yeah I am the first to say a high rollover is exciting but a certain point it is too high
prize is too big .  This thread has given away more then 3btc in coins and gear. Maybe we allow for one more full rollover if it happens. But ideas are welcome.

We are funded for Dec Jan and Feb . So one more rollover is easy enough to do.  If someone hits it problem solved.

Well, it depends on how much you are OK to roll over .

There are two ways:

1-) Roll over to certain amount like 0.4 or 0.5 then again if no one guesses exactly, then;
a) give all to closest one i.e. give all to 1 person
b) divide all among two closest guessers
c) give some portion of the prize to closest one and continue to rollover(ex: if prize 0.5 then give 0.1 to closest and rollover for next time that next prize will be again 0.5

2-) Give some portion if anyone doesnt guess exactly each time and rollover remaining. Again it depends on how much you want to rollover. Give 50% of the prize each week if you want max prize is 0.2 BTC. If you want max prize is 0.3 BTC then give 1/3 (33%) of the prize to the closest ad so on.

My choice is second one. I think it can be still exciting w/o getting unwanted interference (.i.e. new/suspicious accounts ) while people hope to get some prize Wink

Btw, it seems that diff. still continues to rise with high rate.

Well we have 1.316 in funds.

https://blockchain.info/address/1ni1F2Bp4PBdpvsagyfoQCJ5AVCg2ty18

So with this one up to .416   we have 9 more adjustments that we can do.
I think I will:
A) let it roll one more time a max of 0.516 then award it to the closest pick.
B) the remaining  will max at 0.300 then award to the closest pick.
C) When funds run out the thread will just go back to spec only.

The only way contest will go past the  1.316 in funds is if mmpool.org hits a block soon as I have more then 8 coins stuck there.
http://mmpool.org/statistics
I am 1) miner there.  And with holidays and other expenses I am getting tight on coin. Having a 2788 hour time spell between blocks has killed my coin flow.
Would be nice to see some others point some gear at them. Finally letting a block get hit. I could fund this thread longer.

they can  buy at a premium price.

then sell low on a second exchange to their own shill.

so price would move to 750 then drop to 180 all in about a week.

the server kit from finksy that let me boost to 12.55 volts give me 7700gh for 2    I am happy with that.

can you share how you've "boosted" to 12.55v with finksy kits? We have about a dozen of them, all running smoothly around 11.9-12v... wouldn't mind getting a little more out of our avalons.  Maybe I missed something here.  thanks Smiley

it is the new 4000 watt board kit.

very nice setup.

for my garage four to five kwatts

one 2880watt and one four thousand watt dual psu will be enough.

i have one 30 amp circuit .

when i setup the 60kwatt solar with a forum member.

i think we will go with the four kwatt boards.  they are quiet and the three power settings  are really nice

Wow, you will have it "going on" with the solar.  Did you make the panels yourself?  I know as thorough as you are, you probably experimented quite a bit already with one rig on solar over a period of time.  I'm curious, are you going with double the size on battery banks than normal just in case you have a couple of days with very little quality sunlight?

Yes, I love the features available for the 2 x 2000 BB PSU's J4bberwock put together.  Unfortunately, it's too much of a pain to do the same with the 2880's.

I have yet to purchase 2 x 2000 BB.  I have the B/O Board, etc... but have not bought the PSU's yet.  Could you tell me if the 2000's are the same thickness as the 2880's?  If so, I might double stack the 2880's to have them the same thickness as the 2 x 2000's before placing the wire shelves on top of the PSU's before putting the rigs on top of them.

No Batteries.  New Jersey buys back power.

So if you have a 60k plant it works out to about 20k  24/7  'free' power

So while the 60k plant seems large only 20k would free once you pay off the panels.

But since there are no batteries the system is much cheaper to setup.  It also does not break or need much maintenance and panels have 25 year warranty.

This will be a ground install on a 2 acre piece of land. Ground installs are very easy to fix since panels are low not on a roof.  You need land.

The guy I am working  with is on this forum and will do a reveal when we are closer to setup.
I may take a few photos of the site. Post them in a bit.

yes

the shares drop off every thirty days. so if you had 1000 shares  on dec 10  they do not carry over to  dec 11-jan 11
