Yes, they've been fantastic, and the addition of a few players in January has helped a lot. The team's outstanding performance just a few weeks ago, they looked like a team far from the champions league position, and then boom! A few weeks later, they are in 4th place and look more dangerous than the teams in front of them. |

Villarreal knocked out Bayern Munich and will have a real attempt at attacking the Liverpool defence. Liverpool should win this tie over two legs and qualify for the final but it is a knockout competition and anything can happen. I am sure Liverpool preferred to play Villarreal over Bayern but they still need to win to get the final. It was a fantastic Tuesday and Wednesday night of football, but I'm disappointed that my team did not qualify. Our schoolboy defense in the first leg cost us the game, but we were more composed in the second leg. Modric assist was a work of art.

Atletico did not surprise me with the way they headed in to this game. They were playing the best way they could in an attempt to beat Manchester City and they nearly succeeded. Atletico dominated the game but just could score because of the way Manchester City defended. Most of the second half was played inside the Manchester City half because Atletico pressed. Manchester City will now meet Real Madrid in the semi-final I have to admit that Atletico surprised me with their aggressive approach, and how did Stefan stay on the pitch despite that headbutt is beyond explainable to me. Furthermore the game could have gone towards the penalty shoot out had Atletico scored in the last minute, but Ederson made a wonderful safe and managed to help City qualify for the semi finals. |

The game was heading for a 1-0 full time result which would have allowed the game to go to extra time but Villarreal scored in the 88th minute to make the final score 1-1 but they won the first leg 1-0. Final aggregate score 2-1 Villarreal. Now on to Real Madrid vs Chelsea. All I can say is that anybody that wants to know what a great game of football looks like should view this link. Tuchel is a world class manager, if he leaves Chelsea at the end of the season the team will suffer while a new manager brings his own ideas. ^ I'm expecting Bayern Munich to go out there and blow Villareal away at the second leg. I don't think Nagelsmann will be out foxed again. But from a betting perspective, dunno... Looking at the lines everything has nothing that entices me.
As for Real Madrid vs Chelsea, still going for Real Madrid draw no bet at 1.95. There's also Real Madrid to win and BTTS combo at 4.50 which is good value imho... For the matches tomorrow I like Benfica team total under .5 at 2.18. I don't think they get one in at Anfield.

As much as I despise our London rivals, I would prefer to see one of them play in the Champions League than Manchester United. Tottenham have been fantastic since their loss to Manchester United, going 4 matches unbeaten and looking more of a threat than Arsenal and Manchester United. They would do well with Conte as a coach if he is well supported in the summer, and Harry Kane may have a reason to stay for another season if they qualify for the Champions League. Crystal Palace have nothing else to play for this season therefore will give 100% in trying to win this match but Chelsea will keep one eye on the Champions League match against Real Madrid and the other on Tottenham trying to catch them in 3rd place. I think Palace will win this It will be physically draining on both teams having to play in the Premier League today, then Manchester City play Atletico while Liverpool play Benfica in midweek with the winners going through to the Champions League semi-final and then having to meet each other again on Saturday for this FA Cup semi-final. Both teams have the squad depth to take on the challenge but it will not be easy. With Arsenal losing it means Tottenham would cement their place in 4th place with a win at Villa and yes certainly looks as though Just when the world thought Arsenal were going to make it back to the UEFA Champions League after being out since 2017, they lost another three points, it's becoming a culture to always bottle whenever they are closer to qualifying or heading towards the end of the season, and with Tottenham being in fine form and picking up crucial points in the last two games, they may have the taste of UEFA Champions League football once again, Conte is doing a fantastic job. Arsenal worked hard to get in to a position where they could challenge for the top 4 position and for a while it seemed almost certain they might get it but they lost too many games alongside Manchester United but Spurs won those crucial games and managed to sit in 4th place instead. You are right, for several years Arsenal seem to lose their nerve when they are close to qualifying for the Champions League and always seem to miss out. As for Conte, yes he is doing great at Tottenham. He was so close to quitting his job a few weeks ago but bounced back and they have been playing very well. I was afraid too that Tottenham may lose that match but in the second half, they played good enough to win the match. Aston Villa need a good goal keeper at the moment so that they can be able to make their defense more strong. Tottenham have a made late surge in an attempt to secure the 4th spot end of season finish in the Premier League table which will guarantee them Champions League football next season. Their push has coincided with Manchester United and Arsenal failing to keep up with shocking losses giving Spurs a chance to break free from the chasing pack.
