3361  Economy / Speculation / Re: Honeymoon savings... hold or sell? on: September 17, 2014, 10:12:26 PM
I made the decision in January to save for my (end of September) honeymoon in bitcoin. In the last few months, I'm getting slaughtered. I've held strong and not sold a bitcent that wasn't required. It's getting close enough (2 weeks), that I'm starting to worry...

So, the question is... sell now, or sell in two weeks?

This goes for everyone.

If you need a certain amount of money by any day less than 5 years from now then a) don't buy and b) sell if you've already bought.

Only hold what you don't need for awhile.

I also follow this position with BTC.  It seems like a waiting game to me.  I could be wrong and end up with nothing.

*IMO sell now if you require funds with in a month.
3362  Economy / Speculation / Re: The ALTS are not tanking.. on: September 17, 2014, 08:21:30 PM
The fact that the Alt's aren't tanking is very telling of the faith people have in Bitcoin.  If Bitcoin was in trouble people would likely sell their alts minus a few maybe.  The fact that they are holding is very telling about the feelings of the crypto community as a whole from my point of view.

This is kind of what I was thinking..   Everytime since DEC if BTC drops 5% the alts tank 10-100%..  until now.  It's just a very interesting change in trend.

I was referring more to the alts +2 million networth cap..  I don't really care what an alt coin with a market cap of $100 is doing.
3363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can BTC hold at at any level? on: September 17, 2014, 02:32:12 PM
I forsee a heavy drop with a decent duration so the ballers can get more coins.

I will never sell below 10k a BTC.

I will never sell more than half of my BTC.

PPC's block chain size is 400 MB...

Is the chain size of 400 MB a good thing or bad? It has been around for over a year.

How is avodiing the problem of the blockchain being 100TB in 10 years a bad thing...
3365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stealth phase. on: September 17, 2014, 02:29:04 PM
How the hell do you define "early adoption" if not the past 4 years?

When the avg person starts using it.  Not .000000001% of people.
3366  Economy / Speculation / The ALTS are not tanking.. on: September 16, 2014, 07:37:45 PM
Just saying...  the alts are on the rise while BTC is down slightly this is very unusual.

Sooo...  putting bitaddress.org onto a CD/USB..

How do?
1.Go to https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org and download the zip and put into your CD/USB
2. Boot into your newly installed windows
3. extract everything from CD/USB
4. click on the .html file
5. Move your mouse around and it will be generated.
6. Go to paper wallet and press print
6b. If you need passphrase, click BIP38 encrypt and type your password in the textbox and click generate and then print.
Also, enable the "Print Background Colors and Images" checkbox on the "Page Setup" screen.
This is very secure as it is impossible for someone to bruteforce your keystroke by matching all of them together at the same position.

Sweet thanks!

Satoshi could be a man like Tesla.. that would amazing for us.  Men like Tesla come around once every 100 years.
3370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bangladesh says Bitcoin users could be jailed for up to 12 years on: September 16, 2014, 03:41:49 PM
We should pay anonymous to DDOS them for a year.

Shame we can't use old miners to do this, ban BTC we attack you.
3371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with the "older" coins? on: September 16, 2014, 02:59:30 PM
PPC's block chain size is 400 MB...  Constant inflation to keep miners around for ever.

Dogecoin is cool and well being able to send money for 1 doge is rather amazing.

3374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stealth phase. on: September 16, 2014, 01:46:27 PM
Well we are, this is normal. The question is for how long? Bitpay keeps adding more and more merchants, bigger names are starting to adopt Bitcoin too.
We must be heading in the right direction then!

I have a feeling a few countries will start holding BTC like they do gold.. I think this will be the next driver of the BTC price.
3375  Economy / Economics / Re: Corporate entities should have a forced maximum lifespan on: September 16, 2014, 01:44:15 PM
Does not matter they are owned and controlled by private investors...  90% of companies are public... owned by investors who do not have to inform anyone how much they own and of what..

It should be public who owns what shares and how many.. Even more so for the holders of the central banks..

The odds are.. like 9/10 that several families own 80% of everything.
Generally speaking 80% of the wealth is controlled by 20% of the richest people. You are however correct to say that investors control companies and should not be punished just because a company has been around for a long time.

Being born into 10 Trillion dollars should not enable you to buy up 100 companies and earn massive money from all their work.
3376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XJO] Joulecoin | SHA256 | Quick transactions | Transaction comments on: September 16, 2014, 01:38:28 PM
Nice growth again in price, it even touched the 300 sat again.

I know it's easy to "pump" XJO with low amount, but still, nice to see.

Agreed, seems someone else has some interest in Joule Cheesy.

Looks like someone put up 1.5 Thash/sec on mininngpool.co.

3378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Offline wallet on: September 15, 2014, 07:23:30 PM
If I install windows on a new harddrive, don't connect it to the web ever.  Then install the QT wallet from a CD, run the QT wallet, copy the public address and do a dumppriv key to get my private key and write it down.

Can I send BTC to that public address and then use the private key I've written down to get it 10 years from now or does that wallet.dat file need to be on a computer that is connected to the web at one point?

Yes, but you can simply save something like bitaddress.org as a html onto a pendrive, stick it into the other PC, open it and then make a paper wallet. Much easier.
You might even miscopy the characters in the private key, screwing everything up.

OOOOH THIS is exactly what I want to do...

Except.. I have no idea how to do that Sad.

Do I just youtube "saving website as html on USB?"
3379  Economy / Speculation / Re: GUYS GUYS I GOT IT! I KNOW HOW TO FIX THE CRASH! on: September 15, 2014, 07:21:28 PM
better still BUY
if everyone bought 3 right now....just 3.. that's less than $20... sigh....if everyone bought just 3.. that is DEMAND BABY... we'll have this sleigh back to 30 in no time.

... and the $30 price would be meaningless, because we'd be the only ones willing to pay that much. As soon as some of us decided to sell our BTC, the price would go back down. See how that works?

This thread is great.. SO MUCH greatness.

Apparently.. A LOT of people would buy at $30... A LOT..
3380  Economy / Speculation / Re: GUYS GUYS I GOT IT! I KNOW HOW TO FIX THE CRASH! on: September 15, 2014, 07:18:19 PM
If everyone stopped selling their bitcoins on gox, th etc.
