People are blaming MyBitcoin for the bitcoin crash. Okay, maybe 20,000 bitcoins went missing. How long does it take to sell that much? A day? A week? Longer? How much longer are people going to blame a possible one off event for the depressed price?
For those arguing all we need to lift bitcoin prices is to cancel the orders, I suggest they haven't been trading in other markets for too long. It's quite common to see penny stocks with bids around $0.01 and asks at $0.10, with no action for weeks. Just because the asking price is high doesn't mean buyers are going to flock to it. Bitcoin is a high risk commodity that fits the penny stock model pretty well. It's common to see 20% daily swings in highly speculative investments.

If everyone stopped selling their bitcoins on gox, th etc.
then the price would go up! (supply + demand bitches)
hey dude i have over 100 000 BTC wich i buy when the prize was 0.02$ i dont care if the prize will be 6$ or 16$ i will buy house with pool and nice car this way or another  .... wow. |

if everyone bought 3 right now....just 3.. that's less than $20... sigh....if everyone bought just 3.. that is DEMAND BABY... we'll have this sleigh back to 30 in no time.
... and the $30 price would be meaningless, because we'd be the only ones willing to pay that much. As soon as some of us decided to sell our BTC, the price would go back down. See how that works? This thread is great.. SO MUCH greatness. Apparently.. A LOT of people would buy at $30... A LOT.. |

He was probably full of it (and "it" is not bitcoin). Look at his account - pretty sure he never had more than a thousand BTC at most. |
