XMR's USD peak was around the 500 USD mark when Bitcoin last mooned.

Back then, let's say that was roughly a 40th (or 2/5%) of the Bitcoin price.   If this run 'season' plays out then a 50K BTC is far from difficult to imagine be end of 2021.

Monero making it to a four figure dollar sum is not outside the realms of possibility.

I certainly think an ATH is likely.   2 x ATH - why not?

Definitely over 500.  I can't remember an exact peak, because it varied wildly between exchanges, but I did buy 4x Ledger Nano X  for well under 1 XMR.  I thought that was in the range of 6XX, peaking over 700, but that might have been CAD?  It was running about 80c USD at that time.  Well probably high US$5XX then, so never mind me  Tongue'

I'm  Expecting 1000-2000 USD.  Just call me a bull.  Nobody here will be shocked  Grin

Yep, I see 1000$ XMR entirely possible, certainly far, far more than a 50k BTC. I am, however, concerned about the fireworks from law enforcement, (from any and all countries) if XMR becomes widely used in DNM. Declaring it illegal altogether is, again, not outside the realms of possibility.

Your too late for this FUD the weak hands are gone.

Next spot...  Previous support, as well as a psychological barrier.  Would not be surprised to bounce off this one considering the lowish volume... but man someone really did press the fast forward button:

Maintaining a very aggressive trend line.  dipped a bit, but recovered on equal or higher volume.  I don't know how long it can hold, but this is monero...  It could just get steeper  Grin Cool Shocked

Liquidity clearly lacking.

Damn, how I missed this  Grin

Hmmm, could we have run out of weak hands?

While the improvement the researchers established is vanishingly small, computer scientists hope this breakthrough will inspire rapid further progress.

I was interested for a second until I found out the advancement.

Thanks to all for the support.

Dig in and stay safe buddy, if I prayed i'd drop one for you. Smiley

We don't have to dig in. We're safe in Toronto.

It's our friends in Mexico we're concerned about... and of course our properties.

They do have some experience at this though. They say this reminds them of Wilma (2005).

HAH! reading comprehension FAIL on my part! Grin

Didn't post my usual morning greeting today because I'm preoccupied by Hurricane Delta.

It increased to category 4 and is headed straight toward our homes in Quintana Roo.

Talked to our custodians and hopefully trees are being cut that might fall on our houses, water tanks are being secured and windows are being boarded up.

We told one to abandon the property and go to a government shelter. We expect all our thatched roofs to be a write-off.

Luckily our main house and storage building have concrete roofs. We told our friends there that they can b&e the place if they need shelter.

Nothing like Daddy Nature to remind you about the real world. Hopefully no lives will be lost.

Dig in and stay safe buddy, if I prayed i'd drop one for you. Smiley

asking for a friend...

You missed it man, it died last year. Or was it 2017? Or was it 2013? Oh heck, I can't recall. Pretty sure it was in China though. Ask a no-coiner, they're more likely to remember.

After about ten refreshes I finally was able to see that tweet.

Twitter has been really weird lately, I think they are trying to force signups.

I got two parlays going at the moment and with one of them I just need the Bills to win and in the other I need the Bills to win and the Giants to cover +14.5 which I must say they are doing much better then most expected so we'll see how this one turns out. Anyway the big one for me is for the Bills to win as then my risky parlay will hit thanks to the Browns causing an upset which I thought they would.

Nice.

Another fair and valid point.

I do believe that the mere fact that some of us are not talking about that particular angle does not mean that we are neither aware of that point or appreciate the impact of such point.

IOU +sm

I was joking of course, because otherwise I would have been out of here long ago.  Wink

But clearly that has been the only goal of so many judging from how many posters have dropped off over the years. Sad really.

My master is satoshi: keep your OPSEC clean, behave, do not do harm and, eventually, disappear. There is an old saying: If you want to hide the treasure, put it in plain sight. Then no one will see it.

I have no master and I thank Satoshi among others for this reality.

Either you are close to reaching "fuck you" status, or you have already reached it.

Either of those scenarios would be good newses.

Alternatively, you wrongly believe that you have reached "fuck you" status in regards to you are in a kind of denial state about possible "master(s)" that you are failing/refusing to recognize or grant proper credit(s).  That would suck.  Cry

I would like to point out that you missed the fact I do not thank Satoshi for profit from bitcoin but for providing the tools of freedom we need to be free of governmental oppression.

I really think you and others all too often miss this all important point, Money that can be seized is worthless.

Curious question: If one were to finally achieve "fuck you" status level, what would be the motivation to continue posting around here?

Asking for a friend.

So you believe the only reason to be here is to achieve a goal and then leave?

I feel sorry for anyone in that catagory.
3375  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: October 04, 2020, 04:10:59 PM
These days, we hear those kinds of similar nonsense speculations in regards to Saylor, too.  Saylor is going to dump, Saylor is able to dump, Saylor knows bitcoin is liquid, blah blah blah.. even though we get similar vibes from Saylor as we had gotten from Draper, and in essence Saylor is someone quite likely to HODL through decently long periods in order to allow market forces to play out (which are more likely bullish rather than bearish or even neutral).

One more thing, regarding Saylor is that he has fairly clearly stated that he already has intentions to continue to buy BTC with incoming cashflow into the future - so I am NOT really sure how those ongoing buys would take place or how much of new incoming cashflow would be used, yet the point is that those kinds of statements in regards to ongoing buying intentions are more bullish than the largely radio silence that we got from Draper.... Draper did not say anything so clearly about engaging in ongoing buying of bitcoin, even though it is possible that between late 2014 and late 2016, he may have been doing so in small quantities on the sly.  Perhaps?
...

By definition holding reserves precludes them from speculation. BTC is THE manner in which those reserves are held which means they cannot be speculated with so if there was dumping going on in the background Saylor would be Criminally liable. That is the difference that means you cannot correlate the two.

each, when he
<...>
Presumably Draper won all those BTC from the auction because he outbid everyone else, so part of the dumbness that he seemed was that he largely stayed in the red in regards to his BTC purchase for about 2.5 years - then all of a sudden in late 2016 and into 2017, he started to look like a genius.

Totally agree on your points.
I am just noticing he paid more that market price at the time, because he gave value to the fact he bought from the government. So those coins could neve be deemed “illegal” or from a “fraudulent source”.
Fungibility is a privacy-related issue Bitcoin protocol is trying to improve on.

Many Maximilists just do not comprehend this issue.

Maybe you should start a thread?

Fuck you status is a state of mind I have been in my entire life. Wink

Other variables as you pointed out can make that status easier to attain.

I don't know what the right is anymore.  It has splintered into several factions... Neocon hawks that are actually democrats, and conspiracy theorists.  While the left has become the actual thing that they are saying the right is... Just the mirror image. Basically woke fascists.

I seriously think it could be the prelude to the (some sort of?) Apocalypse. Lol.

two apocalypses in a row? isnt that against the rules?

Amusingly enough its actually in paperback! Grin

Cant they inject him with UV or something?
He could be using laser therapy . I recall a few articles on it showing some benefit.

Or, you know, they could just let his immune system do the work.

God forbid that anyone be allowed to let their own immune system overcome the effects of the virus. It's not like millions of people recovered that way. /big S

Guess this didn't work.
