3361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Filthy scammers, cheats, hackers, thieves, conmen, fools and protestants. on: January 26, 2017, 05:03:23 AM
fiat is no better

bank thefts
blackmails
murders for hire
pickpockets
card cloners
nigerian price phone scams
phishing for love 'my love i need hospital bill paid or i die next week
sugar daddies, girls marrying old guys just to get name on a will
corporate money laundering
the list goes on

the only difference between fiat and bitcoin is there is less (never zero, but less) chance of knowing who the other party is to slap them with a wet fish/court order.

so never trade with anyone you dont know anything about. unless you can slap them with a wetfish/court order should they do you wrong, dont trade.

AKA.. rule 1: stranger danger

Exactly this. This community isn't poisoned or worse than any other community... The world is poisoned. People are like this, not Bitcoin. People scamming with fiat always existed, always went to jail left and right, always were dishonorable. That won't change anytime soon, if at all, unfortunately.

These are the kinds of threads that give mainstream media something to jump on regarding saying crap about Bitcoin Roll Eyes
To buttress, This is expected in such a global community, human are diverse so also their characters. There good ones too. This forum had provided check by introducing negative tag on people who are capable of doing such,to protect people from them
3362  Economy / Economics / Re: Spending Bitcoins on: January 25, 2017, 08:14:26 PM
government dont encourage the use of bitcoin, says it is not reliable after the research by the central bank.
fewer stores accepting the use of bitcoin as exchange value
low level of bitcoin knowlegde even with the expanding internet coverage and use
all these factors had affected the circle of bitcoin exchange
3363  Economy / Economics / Re: USD vs BTC on: January 25, 2017, 07:10:23 PM
Bitcoin is not more popular then dollar. Dollar is global currency used for many different trades. Governments and laws are one side of the dollar and bitcoin will have big problems in future because of that. We know who control the dollar, they will not be glad to accept something they cant control.
dollar remains universal trade unit, known to almost 90% of the world. Bitcoin has not done enough to gain that popularity and relevance. Some still believe that bitcoin take a form of wealth than a daily exchange. Dollar cant be restricted the way bitcoin is, in the world. Remember bitcoin is only relevant where internet is available. There is more to be done to keep bitcoin to that feat
3364  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Looking to leave Coinbase on: January 25, 2017, 06:19:55 PM
I'm now officially fed up with CoinBase. They rapidly accept my money when Bitcoin price is rising and I purchase, but if BTC has peaked and I need to sell quickly, the app conveniently becomes busy, and cannot process my request to sell.

They're basically forcing me to take losses.

Can anyone recommend a TRUSTED app with an exchange that is quick to process all requests that is also easy to use? I would prefer one in the USA. And one that works on the iPhone.

Thanks.

I have been using coinbase for past few months and i have not experienced any issues lately. However, due to my location, the feature of exchanging bitcoin is not available. Instead i use localbitcoins which is far very much convinient. You can give a try to localbitcoins and see if you can exchange easily.

Same i feel with coinbase. I do not find any reason to leave coinbase. They are good and currently only online wallet which offers zero transaction fee. Xapo has started charging minimal tx fee, so we are left with coinbase only if we want to enjoy zero tx fee.
the challenges is when the exchange is busy due to increase in price, which is thought to be undermine by the app to prevent trade at this time but not when the price is lower/less busier. This not good for an exchange and have been reading this often lately.
3365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price drops as PBOC continues inspections on: January 25, 2017, 02:21:42 PM
It seems that a second round of Bitcoin price crash just started after PBOC said that they will continue inspection of Chinese Bitcoin exchanges.

.....cryptocoinsnews.....

this is not news, cryptocoinsnews is once again creating clickbaits articles to generate traffic and also help the FUD dump happen.
the PBOC has been inspecting Chinese bitcoin exchanges for a while and they never stopped or were planning on stopping it.
and this so called drop started from yesterday but it was silent and slow selling of whales (you can check the charts and the volume), now it is shakeout time for the whales to buy back in again at lower prices.
What is their benefits in the FUD dump? Moreover, If up to 90% of bitcoin is traded in china, there is nothing to be done with the influence of PBOC on bitcoin price.
3366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking to Invest 1 bitcoin on: January 25, 2017, 02:09:10 PM
When you are planning to invest don't listen to other people because you are going to blame them. It's better for you do some research there are many coins are launching daily, study them, research them, pick the good one who are supporting it and invest in it. In this way you will acquire some knowledge about how to research.
This opinion is out of experience, cos anyone who plans to invest in an ICO took a risk. It is just an evaluated risk when you research the ICO. There are a lot to consider in any ICO you are researching which should be stated. ANN thread of such ICO is also a platform to ask questions, sometimes directly from the staff of the projects.
3367  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is it worth buying now from BitcoinATM? on: January 25, 2017, 11:38:41 AM
obviously you are paying a higher price because of the fees, I have never used one before  but you should check if you are correct about the price. anyway 7% means $963 when price is $900 and if there isn't any other fees and if "paying with cash" is what you want then I guess it is ok if you use it.
It is always connected to the internet so it sells per time according to the internet exchange rate, though the exchange is described to be $50 or more than other sellers, with the 7% transaction rate, this is where the owners of the ATM gets to gain. This high rate is one the reason for slow adoption in some countries
3368  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: signature campaign vs social media campaign, which is more effective? on: January 23, 2017, 05:50:52 PM
have been thinking also of what could justify the higher pay in signature campaign if the effectiveness of the campaign is not known.

3374  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Is Now Moving Up on: January 19, 2017, 11:11:33 PM
I wont be surprise if the crowning of the new president has no effect of bitcoin. It is predicted that the rate of technological development could slide below uncertainty level at his time, there is look out to his response on that subject in coming weeks. And bitcoin is one of the newest tech
3375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The greatest innovation? on: January 19, 2017, 11:01:55 PM
I won't count blockchain among the greatest innivation, so far there is no large scale use of the tech. we are just hoping it will hit the real world use. Blockchain cannot be considered to have affected the world the way Electricity, Aircraft, Internet, Computer etc. have changed the world positively may be in future it will but not presently
That's true, we should wait until it proves itself. The Internet wasn't on the list in the 70s and 80s, when it was still used only by scientist and large corporations, and how many people use blockchain? Not even 1% of the population. To compare think how many people are using a fork or a spoon or a microwave? Also, like others have said, blockchain is only a tool for Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the one that deserves a place on that list.
To buttress this, Internet is the greatest innovation of the last century. Most especially when blockchain technology is mentioned alon with it, no internet no blockchain technology
3376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: January 19, 2017, 10:57:08 PM
Some third world countries dont have an active effect of bitcoin in the transaction within their region, yet they claim they cant afford their populace to adopt it. The fear for the coin worries me atimes. Why the fear to make life easier with technology
i think it is not the main reason, but the main reason can be that in third world countries the education ratio is very low there, and they have also very limited resource of compute internet, their people cannot affort compute and internet that is why they do not have access to bitcoin to use it, i think it will still take some more time when they will have access to bitcoin.
The level of education in these countries may, in fact, be a factor that also prevents many users from knowing this technology and using cryptocurrencies. If these people had more knowledge about it, I think there would be much more adoption, even with the restrictions imposed by governments in those countries.

Hopefully, with the increasing number of people using the Internet around the globe, this may change, because easy access to information will make more and more people aware of it.
Have you been to this part of the country that I posted the link. A part of the country has over 50% educated indigenes with regular access to in internet via their phone 24/7. The new internet service is at 4g network bandwidth. Different internet service providers that compete for better service. The problem is the acceptability not the environment

lol you talking about my country, yes theyre afraid using technology, they like the old school transaction, and dont want a change.
but if some market in my country start accepting bitcoin payment, maybe they will learn, earn, and do some things about coin.
The reality shall be serve, when big countries accept bitcoin, small countries follow. It take time dude, also live in a small country and I notice there are no merchant or stores that accept bitcoin, I am sure they are aware but they are still waiting for the right timing since it's hard to compromise their business when bitcoin was not fully back by the government.
Why this?   https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/nigeria-warns-banks-bitcoin-ripple-monero-litecoin-dogecoin-onecoin/
