33621  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up new diff thread Dec 6 to Dec 20 picks open. on: December 12, 2015, 04:45:08 AM
And I am banning any more new members from this point on during this adjustment period.

Thank your for doing this.  I think looking into it for all future ones might be a decent idea.  Just seems odd we get 3 when week before we had none, but it is a even higher prize so could be coincidence but I normally dont believe in coincidence.

Price is going down some looks like were around 421 now.. so not the 450 we had earlier.  But still nice.

Bitwisdom is scary to be honest:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    79,102,380,900
Estimated Next Difficulty:    93,211,306,663 (+17.84%)
Adjust time:    After 1123 Blocks, About 6.7 days
Hashrate(?):    707,439,362 GH/s

Well all three newbies have yet to pm me about being allowed to win the usb stick. (They would need to give me a mailing address for the stick to be sent now rather then later)

which makes me think we did the correct thing here.
33622  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BTC Network about to hit 1 exahash for the first time over a 24 hour period!!! on: December 12, 2015, 04:41:55 AM
@ QunitLeo

predictive peak number or PPN  is what I coined as a catch phrase for d57heinz's number prediction method.

At first I though you were right and his idea was not good.  I argued with him then after reading all his posts and my posts I realized he could be right I  do see a correlation.

I went back for about 25-26 adjustments  and the ppn comes true ⅔ of the time within 4 jumps. I don't like being wrong but I was wrong at least ⅔ wrong for the last 25-26 jumps
This was in a time when we had negative jumps .

When you go back to higher diff years. like the gpu years and the very early asic time the PPN number  came true faster.

like 2 or 3 jumps.

He has a valid system of prediction.

⅔ is way better then a coin toss.
33623  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: F2Pool is directly threatening Bitcoin's future on: December 12, 2015, 04:24:09 AM
This is going to become a huge problem, if it isn't already. Miner pools/farms with lot of power are going to define terms on how its going to be and NO miners won't join the smaller pools, they want their ROI and don't care about what happens to future of Bitcoin. And the image above shows that not only them some of the others are doing it too.

I have been thinking that the 1/2 ing will alter this behaviour.

12.5 coins per block will mean fees are more important.

If I win a block with 25.1 coins including fees.  The fees come to .4%

If I win a block with 12.9 coins including fees. The fees come to .8%

I think this issue may really change in July.
My fear is the pools will reject more transactions by wanting even higher fees.
I stopped mining at f2pool after studying the issues.
I may need to sell off my s-7 hash at ant pool since ant pool is making a shit ton of empty blocks.

I will need to study this more.

33630  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 11, 2015, 11:08:13 PM
Pretty good website / review.  I wish they go more into detail on this statement below and how they achieved the 4.1T.

When the case of mining machine stable operation at a temperature of 75 degrees, voltage 12.1V, the fan speed of about 3000 rpm, G pool and pond, the average count forces around 3.5T. Maximum count force nearly 4.1T, the smallest operator force of about 3.2T, long run without large fluctuations.

P.S Zoomhash is expressing me the missing LED Dongle.  Is this the same thing they use on the Avalon 4.1? If so I think I can borrow that piece from another miner that doesn't live too far away.

It looks exactly the same as 4.1 adpters.  I cannot guarentee it as I have not hear of anyone trying it.

But I put my extra's with my 4.1's as it appeared so close.  So I'm guessing yes but cant guarantee it.

I will swap my 4.1 with my 6 give me 1 minute.

works fine I swapped.  this is the pinky sized dongle.  so both it and the 4.1 cable interchange with the avalon 6

I act like a proxy to ck's solo pool I control the payment  address. but rather then tack on fees on top of ck's fees.  I earn my prize money same as anyone else and I run a lot of donated hash .
right now I am running 13 sticks and 2 avalon 6's.    and while I earn more of part b money since my over or donated shares are very high.  I get the same piece of part a as anyone else 1 think 1/46th  of part a right now.

A lot of people had a lot of ideas on how to do the prize money.   This pool/club  keeps every share of yours for the 30/31 day run.

so for part B  if you rent 20th today those share do not drop off.  They will dilute if you stop mining but they will earn something for the month if we hit a block.

this pool subsides the little guy with a stick  but on the same end if you do a big rental early in the run it is a decent deal.

I always try to have 2 to 3 th running every day as donated I am going to run 6.5th until Jan 1st.

If I ask you to prove you are mining with a compac stick  and you can't prove it you will be banned and marked with a negative trust.
Thanks for running this again, Phil, it's a lot of fun.  I like and support the new rules, but I have a question about the above - did we have an issue with this either of the last 2 runs that made it a point to bold for this run?  I hope not, but just curious.  Maybe part of being in the club each month is that the user must post a picture of their stick with a handwritten note that says "sidehack compac pool Dec 11 - Jan 11" each time, only altering the date on the note.

We had zero issues but if you go to my diff giveaway thread
WE have  had the issue for the first time.

BTW all three newbie accounts did not contact me and most likely were looking to score.  There is a a really good chance they are the same guy.

Thus the nasty line was added here.

I think you are supposed to have all your donation at one donation address, makes book keeping simpler.

For normal people it would make sense but aj is far from normal! Grin

He has a beast stick sitting alone

And if I recall he has a ton of other mods.  So if his internal setup needs 3 lines it is cool.

I rather 1 line for sticks and one for donation but his setup is better with 3 lines.

AJ post the beast stick photo again pretty please.

I no longer recommend the 2880 breakout board for use with Avalon 6

the avalon 6's where running 2 per psus which is about 2100 watts dc/2300 watts ac

not over volted

I had some warmer weather last week and the board jacks over heated.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1403986.0

see jacks in these photos

Not ready to do this but I will post a few teaser photos in a few minutes.

You Must have 240 volts for this gear!!

size matters the 2x 2000 watt or 4000 watts vs a 1200 watt seasonic plat

you can see 3.3 times the power  in close to the same size.

the 9.6 volt to 13 volt meanwell psu 1500 watts
