3381  Economy / Reputation / Re: False positive result or a phishing of some sort? on: May 06, 2021, 09:05:21 PM
I tead the thread and I understand it might be a false positive, hence we can't accuse him of anything ,yet. But what I can't understand is why he responded with such aggressivity to the warning you posted! Did he create that tool to be so sure it's legitimate and safe?

Anyway, there is no need to download or run any software to check whether your device is infected with the clipboard malware or not, just copy a valid address and paste it in any text editor, if they don't match then your device is infected.

3383  Local / العربية (Arabic) / قانونية استعمال البيتكوين في بلداننا on: May 05, 2021, 09:42:31 PM

3386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recovering a 12 word phrase on: May 02, 2021, 09:27:39 PM
He created it in Blue Wallet.
Are you sure he created that wallet with bluewallet?
Because, afaik, bluewallet generates 24 words seeds by default not 12 words!
Maybe the problem is in the derivation path not in the word order!

My old wallet has 24 words seed (doesn't allow me to take screenshots on mobile) and I also found this:
BlueWallet provides 24 word mnemonic seeds for onchain Segwit wallets. These are standard BIP44, BIP49 and BIP84 addresses...
Weird!
3387  Economy / Exchanges / Re: buying bitcoin on bisq p2p with interac e - transfer on: May 02, 2021, 08:46:08 PM
If you are going to pay the seller directly, meaning that you will send from your bank account to the seller's bank account then they probably won't notice it unless you make a lot of transactions which may raise their suspicions and trigger them to investigate your account.
If you deposit to the exchange's account (which is, thankfully, not required on most p2p exchanges) then they will know you are trying to buy cryptocurrencies.

Depending on the regulations on your countries, some banks may even freeze your account and not only reverse the transaction. So be careful!
3388  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Xapo Wallet on: May 02, 2021, 07:36:36 PM
I don't remember the no fee option though, I think it was between Xapo wallets if I remember correctly.
This is correct. Zero fee transactions only apply for internal transfers between Xapo wallets. If am not wrong, they used to charge a miners fee when withdrawing to an external wallet depending on the priority level you choose.
I stopped using their services since the date they updated their privacy policy and introduced the kyc requirement besides blocking some countries.
I might be wrong but I think there aren't many users who are still interested in their services.
3389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help with bitcoin gold fork explorer on: May 02, 2021, 05:54:36 PM
Try this BTG block explorer:
https://explorer.bitcoingold.org/insight/
I believe it's more user friendly. However, you have to enter the converted BTG address starting with G as it doesn't recognize btc addresses.

To claim the BTGs, move any left bitcoins on your address to a new wallet then import your seed/private keys into a wallet that supports bitcoin gold such as ElectrumG or Coinomi.

You can use this tool to convert a bitcoin address to its corresponding bitcoin gold address:
https://blog.ledger.com/btg-convert/
3390  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed TSX disappeared. on: May 02, 2021, 04:48:50 PM
Glad to hear your transaction got finally confirmed.
Other than checking the network status and the average fee rates on mempool.space or any other similar service, you should also flag your transactions as rbf so you can bump the fees whenever needed.

Not entirely sure if being way below the purge rate for ~10 days meant it had been purged/removed and would never be confirmed or If it would be confirmed eventually anyway.
Each node has its own mempool custom settings which may differ from the settings of other nodes. If no block explorer can find your unconfirmed transaction then mist likely it will never confirm unless you keep rebraodcasting it.
3391  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex SupporT! Please Help Me!! (Accidentally deposited BTC to USDT wallet ) on: May 02, 2021, 03:36:27 PM
I want to know this modification will affect my process or not ?
Whether they are delisting USDT or just preventing their users from using the OMNI protocol shouldn't change anything. They still own the private keys for their omni addresses so they can recover your bitcoins any time they want. Nothing to worry about, really. Just keep in touch with their support team.

I have question, They removed my Omni usdt wallet. Is it problem for me or not ?  How am I going to prove it ?
Honestly, I don't think they will deny that the address belongs to them just because it doesn't appear in your account anymore.
3392  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance and Omni network on: May 01, 2021, 11:58:21 PM
Now things are getting alarming, why so many platforms start removing it at this same time?
All of them made short announcements and didn't explain why they took such a sudden decision. All they said is that they "want to provide their customers with a better experience"!

However, I believe the real reason is the recent spike in bitcoin transactions fees. Omni layer works on top of Bitcoin network and an Omni transaction is, in fact, a bitcoin transaction. Such transactions are cost intensive for exchanges.
3393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Transactions Fee Are More Expensive Than Ever on: May 01, 2021, 10:30:44 PM
a few hours ago when I was looking at the fee, it was below $1 and I think there is a time that the bitcoin fee will become low.
I confirm. I just made a transaction with only 20 sat/vB and it got confirmed within few minutes. mempool.space even suggests 10 sat/vB for a high priority transaction.

we know this is the effect of the price (value) not the number of bitcoins which is needed to complete our transactions because the amount of bitcoin fees is still as where it was before in each transaction
This is not totally accurate. The fee rate for a faster confirmation depends on the network status and not on bitcoin price.
3394  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Thodex transferred 125 million bitcoins to Kraken before closing on: May 01, 2021, 08:58:37 PM
Not being familiar with them, I have to ask: was Thodex a legitimate, regulated exchange in Turkey or was it one of these smaller, shady exchanges?
They have an MSB license and the Turkish authorities certainly knew about their existence as they've been operating since 2017, have bank accounts and their head office is located in Istanbul one of the largest cities of Turkey.
I don't believe it was a small exchange since, accirding to CMC, their trading volume exceeded $585M and their CEO managed run away with more than 2 billions dollars of customers funds.
3395  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New update on blockchain.com explorer on: May 01, 2021, 07:39:26 PM
I just visited blockchain.com explorer to check if my transaction git confirmed or not and noticed the update.
It's good that they added the sat/vB field especially for those, like me, who use segwit addresses. However, I don't think there is a real need for the "Fee per weight unit" as it's nothing else but the "Fee per vbyte" devided by 4.
Also, I noticed that for some transactions the fee per vbyte shows as Not Available and not sure what the problem is with those transactions!
3396  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: coinam inot working on: April 30, 2021, 11:58:28 PM
Coinomi is connecting just fine on mobile. It takes too long to synchronize though!
The more coins you have on your main wallet, the longer time it takes to synchronize. So start by removing the coins you don't use and see if this solves your problem.
I noticed that adding Monero slows down my wallet.
Since you only have bitcoin, It would be better to follow the above suggestions and switch to a better wallet like Electrum (make sure to download it from the official website electrum.org and verify its signature).
3397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Old Wallet of 2013 on: April 30, 2021, 10:20:31 PM
From the above description and the image you attached, it looks lije you were using bitcoin core as a wallet. It's what bitcoin.org suggests using and, indeed, it takes long time to syncronize.

Bitcoin core save your private keys (and other data related to your addresses) on a .dat file (wallet.dat by default) and it's all you need to recover your wallet. It doesn't create accounts like what blickchain.com do.
Do you still have the hard disk on which you've installed bitcoin core?
3398  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Replace By Fee on BlockChain.com on: April 30, 2021, 09:13:42 PM
ranochigo is right. Unfortunately, Blockchain.com does not support rbf. Therefore, you can't bump the fees.
However, you can accelerate your transaction by creating a CPFP transaction. If you didn't spend your whole balance then you can do it yourself by exporting your wallet to an external wallet app that supports spending unconfirmed funds (Electrum is a good choice).
You can also try your luck with ViaBTC free accelerator if your transaction is paying more than 0.0001 btc/kB.
3399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how are instant bitcoin transactions done? on: April 30, 2021, 07:30:02 PM
Both the incoming and outgoing transactions were confirmed at the same time. Basically, what's happening is that a new transaction spends the received funds (or part of it) while it's still unconfirmed and only visible in the mempool. If the second transaction pays enough fees, both transactions will get included in the same block. Hence the same confirmation time.
This technique is what's known as CPFP used to accelerate a stuck tansaction.

However for the second address "1JwSSubhmg6iPtRjtyqhUYYH7bZg3Lfy1T" it looks like there is a bot sweeping the funds automatically.
3400  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Secure Our Wallet to Prevent Being Hacked! on: April 29, 2021, 10:45:03 PM
4. Check Balance
It is not necessary to check our balance everytime by entering our private key.
For bitcoin, you don't have to provide your private key to check your balance. You can set up a watching-only wallet by using your public address. This way, you don't expose your private keys to the Internet.

7. Enable 2FA
It is important to enable 2fa if our wallet serve this feature.
You only need your seed/private key to access your wallet. Any wallet software that has 2FA feature is a custodial wallet which are not safe and you should not use them if you care about the security of your funds. A better alternative for 2FA is to set up a 2of2 multisig wallet and keep each co-signing private key/seed on a different device.

8. Free Wifi
We shouldn't use free wifi at all and by using free wifi
If you have no other option but to connect to a public WIFI, then at least connect to it with a reliable and secure VPN.
