I do not see Currencevents as a lender on that loan.
I didn't see him listed until I logged in.

You'd still have to wait for the blockchain to download to see a 1.4 BTC loan.

Avalon went with a very simple chip on a large(110nm) process. I imagine this strategy gave them very high yields out of the wafers because of the small chip size. This came at the cost of a large PCB to route to all the chips. BFL appears to be going the other way with a few very large chips based on a smaller(65nm) process. This should give them better power efficiency and more hashing power per chip at the risk of random manufacturing defects giving them fewer of these chips per wafer. Of course one hopes for 100% yields but that isn't always the case. We'll see how this all plays out very soon.
Ah, thanks for the explanation. I think I'll opt for the BFL unit then.

These units look pretty sweet. I'm not sure why the Avalon units are so large in comparison, but it reminds me of Iron Man vs. that reverse-engineered Iron Man in the first movie. I might have to put in an order for one and check it out.
Inaba, do you expect to be able to fill all orders with the first wave of bulk shipments?

Thanks also that $50 is if you catch it in the first 2 days. The website you just posted says that after 2 days you are liable for up to $600. All discussion of id theft liability aside would a trusted member be able if they so desired to take my btcjam account as collateral?
A brand new BTCJam account has next to no value, and certainly nowhere near 4 BTC.

I haven't clicked the thread yet, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say his account was just created recently. How far off am I?

CaptChadd and I have agreed on making him a php script that takes the btc/ruc price from btc-e throu it's api and outputs it like here: www.rucoin.usLater on, I offered him this site (rucoin.us (the files of it, as it was on a subdomain of another domain)) for 5 btc or 6k RUC (price by that moment I made the offer) and he accepted, but told me that he hasnt that money by now. I kept building it and adding candy to it, till it was as you see it. Then captchadd told me that he has ADHD as a reason that he does not want to pay, but also agreed to keep his word. As he may come saying that we never made an agreement I have all the mails and told him that i may share them here if we cannot find a sollution. Today's news are that he mailed me that he initialy thought that there will be the domain "rucoin.us" for free in my offer (note that i registered it yesterday and never told anything about including the domain). Also never told from yesterday till today that Im selling the domain. In all fairness, the way you described it made me think the rucoin.us domain was included in the deal too.

Updated with the latest wave of possible/probable scam loan requests. I removed ProfMac from the list for the fact that his social media accounts do appear to be his and have been around for several years. That being said, lenders should still use caution whenever loaning to anybody.

Btcjam - not a scam per se, just carries the scam-enabler torch dropped by GLBSE. Repayment rate of 77% declared by op (tho that's probably significantly overstated). So it's basically just think of it as a really REALLY slow game of Satoshi Dice with less reward for a win.

Wait.. that's a real thing?

Seeing as how I'll be late to the ASIC game no matter which vendor I choose to do business with, I think I'm going to go with BFL because their units look better. That's about all I've got to go on lol

Man, I'm stickying your thream for the usefulness. Any non-brain-dead lenders should take in this thread before potentially getting scammed. Thank you for what you've done for the community. Thanks, John. Now I don't have to keep scrolling down to find this thread
